Love the decor. A mix of mostly new/looks vintage with some actual vintage (apparently the giant moose head at the Easton location came from an old Abercrombie store) items. I just purchased a cabinet from them. Cheap, no, but comparable in price to similar items, including from the online sites that don't allow you to touch the item before purchasing. It was exactly what I needed for the space, so splurged a bit. I had a relative meet the delivery team 6 weeks later, and one door on the cabinet wasn't sliding perfectly. He worked on it 30 minutes but ultimately could not get it to be up to the standard of the model in the store. Within one week, they had a replacement delivered. They were very communicative about delivery times and gave a 1 hour window so we didn't spend half a day waiting around. I agree with some other reviewers that the in-store staff aren't overly warm, but I have always been welcomed with a hello and they were more than helpful when I have asked for assistance. I honestly prefer this shopping experience. Most times, I just want to browse on my own and not interact with staff beyond hello/good-bye. read more

The only bad part about shopping at Elm & Iron is that I wanted to take home everything in the store! I loved the style of the furniture and home decor here - modern, stylish, and unique. Staff was very helpful and there is a range of price points for all budgets. I am looking forward to visiting their (larger) Easton location as well. read more

I'd seen this a million times, but hey, I'm not into home decor, so I passed on by. But wow. I popped in, expecting to look around and leave. But they have a ton of cool stuff. There's a furniture sale this week, but we don't really need any. Still, some nice pieces. And lots of interesting home decorating ideas. There's a definite love for dogs and Ohio, and smartass humor, all of which I appreciated. The items are arranged beautifully, and the staff are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Ended up with a few small things. Prices can be high for the bigger stuff, but there are plenty of things at very reasonable prices too. I'll be back. I'm surprised I didn't spend more there. With Christmas coming up, and other occasions, I can find lots of gifts here, and some things for our house. read more

We LOVE Elm & Iron! We're located in Cincinnati and have been shopping with Elm & Iron for years. Unfortunately those locations closed so we have been ordering online since. We always have the best experience when shopping with Elm & Iron. The quality of their furniture is amazing, not to mention the unique pieces you find. There isn't a visit to our house where someone compliments something from Elm & Iron in our house. Now shopping online we have had the option to pickup at their warehouse, which we have and were lucky to shop while there. Kind of comes across as a hipster Restoration Hardware... Some nice pieces, but they are mixed in with obvious Asian repro pieces, so you have to kind of hunt and educate yourself to make sure you get a good value. As a result, some of the prices were surprisingly low for how they are intended to be viewed and other pieces seem a bit overpriced. The shop draws you in as you drive by on the street. They have a good assortment and they really know how to stage the items to tell stories and encourages you to wander through the entire store. I'd go here every once in a while, mainly for ideas and in the hopes of finding that one authentic, vintage piece that is reasonably priced. read more

We loved coming in here, and are looking forward to going to the Easton location and warehouse next time we're in town visiting family. Unlike some reviewers, I despise being pestered when shopping. I don't need someone to hi to me or greet me - it's not the reason I'm there and they're not there to wait on me; it's not a restaurant. I was greeted, was helped when I asked a question about availability and everyone was nice at checkout. That's plenty for me. I also disagree that this is overpriced. I've shopped at stores with a similar feel in many big cities and I was actually so pleased with the prices here. No, not everything is unique nor is it vintage, and I doubt that it's meant to be. Elm & Iron is a great addition for Cville. The place is always decorated wonderfully, with really creative ideas. There is always a nice selection of furniture to funky pillows and signs. There are a lot of unique items here. I love the feel of the personal touches of every single item that I see. Each item is custom-made and can be assigned to a Home package for them to set up directly in your home. They are relatively more expensive than your average home decor store. Offerings found in Elm & Iron are rustic, big and small, and for the most part affordable. The retailer has gone a long, long way to collect, order, find pieces of Americana that are attractive and genuinely genuine,.... if not all genuine antiques. I came away thinking "Mirrors". E&I has done a great job of using large floor and wall mirrors as both decorative decor but also to sell. And there are some real beauties. You don't see them right away because of the items on sale which surround them but they're present. A few are really eye-catching and I must say that I'm going back to look at them again (didn't price any) because I want/need one or two for my abode. Some throwback items boggle the mind, like the Toledo Scale that is very nice. Several old school items such as 7-cent stamp dispensers, old grade school lockers, a ticket maker and such are cool but don't fit my lifestyle at home. Loved 'em though. Sold, too, are some icon embroidered pillows that capture US states. Very finely crafted and... well, I may go back and purchase Ohio and Michigan! E&I is well worth a pop-in if you've decided Clintonville store shopping is part of your docket. You may not walk out with anything except an appreciation for the old, the rustic and the "I like it" feeling. read more

I stopped in here while on my walk home from the grocery store...after having admired the window displays for so long, I'm really glad I decided to go in. I've been in three times since then have picked up fun and useful items each time. It's getting to the point where I think I shouldn't walk to the grocery anymore because I know I won't be able to resist their lovely wares!!! It's hard to describe their offerings...industrial vintage with a slightly modern twist maybe? I've had a few brief chats with the owner and he's a really nice, down-to-earth guy. I've been looking for decorating ideas for my new apartment, which is slowly emerging as a mid-century-on-a-budget theme. I saw Paul's review and figured I would stop by to check it out. It's a little shop next to the Kroger at N. High and N. Broadway. There isn't much in the way of parking, and the lot can be tricky to get into. There are a lot of interesting things, including some really neat alphabet carvings made from those lame Readers Digest condensed books, though most of it leans too far towards industrial and rustic to fit my admittedly loosely defined mid century theme. read more

I was in Clintoville for lunch today which gave me a chance to stop in here and look around. They've only been open since last October. It's more home furnishings than I imagined but it was nice to browse around nonetheless. They had all manner on stuff, some old some new. I mentioned to the young guy minding the register that this reminded me of Restoration Hardware that used to exist at Easton but he had never heard of it. I went in this week for the first time. The girl behind the counter did not even acknowledge I was in the store. They are overpriced and I know this because what they are calling their "vintage" paper is twice to three times more than you can pick it up in other local places. Eclectic, yummy venue with very unique items. I fell in LOVE with it the minute I entered the front door.

As another reviewer noted, there is no greeting here. You walk in, and wander around unnoticed. It reminded me of the lovechild of a thrift store and anthropologie. The prices were on the side of anthro. There was cool unique decor, but most of it you could either make yourself, or buy from a thrift store for a fraction of the price. I found a candle I liked, $20. I thought to myself, for $20 I probably could get into candle making and make something even better than this! After checking out the sparse selection (maybe they have less inventory due the holidays) I went a few steps down to wholly craft and found some great gifts. read more

Don't be fooled - items here are a far cry from "vintage". Last time I was in, there was an old drafting table lamp that they scuffed up and "antiqued" with silver paint. They were asking $275 dollars, while one of the stores down the street was selling the exact same lamp, in its original 1950's charm, for $50. If you are able to find products not imported from overseas, they are way overpriced. This store belongs in Easton next to Restoration Hardware... read more

Cool store but I will never be back. The workers were rude, And acted to good to help or talk to me. I was the only person in the store at the time and walked right by the 2 girls at the register. Neither one them even said hello to me. They were to busy talking to each other. We all made direct eye contact and I smiled but nothing in return from the workers. I walked through the whole store was in there about 15 minutes. Still no help from anyone. I was very interested in buying a couple items but passed. Really don't want to give my money to a store that I don't get any help in. Very sad! Store had some very cool items. read more

This little spot is right next to Giant Eagle in Clintonville. They have another location but I guess they have two different furniture styles in both stores. When I walked in the woman was kind and noticed me. I appreciated that as I have been to many furniture stores and been ignored or unnoticed. The home decor photos of animals were the cutest, and the hand towel sayings were the best. I want to go back to pick up some, I just cant seem to want to spend $16 on a single towel that will most likely be stained. But the towels will make you laugh out loud. I also liked the wall photos too . They had great quotes and ideas. The furniture there is trendy and the dining tables were all unfinished and priced over $500. I was looking for a dining table and they had cute options, but unfinished table means open to stains and scratches from eating on it. So I ended up leaving with some inspiration and photos versus a table. read more

Very disappointing! I thought this was a very cool store/concept and was very excited to check it out. I received a gift and tried to exchange it and was given a flat out no. The items were in the store still, and mine were still in boxes - and they would do nothing for us? we were not asking for $$$ just to exchange :( Very sad and really makes me think about NEVER buying a gift from a local shop ! I came in here right before the holidays with the mother hen. Fun place to look around and maybe find something cool for your place. But at the same time you'll think I could totally find this at a garage sale or thrift store for a fraction of the price. Well okay, then go find it. Point is, you're not going to take the time to scour. They've already done the scouring for you and refurbished, altered, or cleaned up the item. I mean, they make you want to have old school gym lockers or ship lights in your house or apartment even though you don't have the slightest clue as to where you'd put them or for what purpose. They just look cool! If you're redecorating or just looking to spice up a room with some style, this is a place to check out for those whimsical, shabby chic and antiquey items.
