This shop is absolutely adorable! Whether you are looking for some new clothing, jewelry, or a fun gift - this shop has it all! Whoever was in charge of the design of this shop definitely knew what they were doing! It is hard for me to decide my favorite part of this store, but the tree with jewelry on it is definitely high up on the list! The store has a very open concept. The door is an open garage, which allowed the cool breeze to come in when I was there. I was immediately greeted when I walked into the store and the employee asked if I wanted anything to drink. There were also cookies at the register for customers. The store is very personalized and customer oriented. A majority of the store is clothing however when you start to make your way to the register you find decorations for around the house and little trinkets. There were different Christmas ornaments all over. There is definitely something for everyone at this store! Expect it to be a little more on the expensive side for jewelry and clothing. It is definitely worth it because everything is one of a kind!

Cool spot, like something you'd find in a big city. One of the stylists found me the perfect pair of jeans.

I did find the ornament I saw in the picture but I know my mom already has the same one, or one that could pass off as its twin anyway.

You might have missed Savvy on a Shoestring the last time you were in the Short North, and that's…read morenot surprising. The store is located just off of High on First Avenue, and the only reason we spotted the tiny clothing store was because of a sign that read "Designer Clothes at 'Knock Off' Prices". There was one more thing that caught my eye on that sign, the part that read sizes went up to 20! I'm not a fashionista by any stretch of the imagination, but maybe it's because as a plus size girl I find it really difficult to find name brand clothing in my size that doesn't look like a floral print potato sack. Savvy on a Shoestring is small, with a couple hand fulls of outfits in each size category. Some of the brands I hadn't heard of, but I did notice a fantastic Vera Wang dress on display. Clothing ranges from business, active wear, evening dresses and accessories in the form of handbags and sunglasses. The lady behind the counter was pleasant to talk to and I told her how happy I was that they carried plus size clothing. She said both her and the owner were larger women, so they tried to look after us curvy girls. However, due to a lack of interest (or perhaps a lack of knowledge) from their customer base, they were going to start scaling back their plus size line. Don't let this happen, Columbus! I just found this great treasure of a store!

I've always been curious about Savvy, but they're only open on Saturdays. You don't hear much about…read morethem. They keep a pretty low profile. The store is also tucked on a side street behind Grandview Mercantile. These factors add up to one thing: me forgetting that Savvy exists. But one of my friends went in recently, and she couldn't stop raving about the place. She put three or four things on hold, all major name designers like Versace, Michael Kors, Dolce & Gabbana...Everything is offered at a huge discount. You can find a $400 pair of jeans selling for $40. I don't know how they do it, but they do. So, this past Holiday Hop, I made it a point to stop in. The store was small but full of clothing neatly arranged on racks by size. Personally, I couldn't find anything that was my style. Everything looked like it was selling to an older crowd. They had a bit of everything from sweat suit jumpers to skirts, blouses, and rain boots. There weren't many duplicate pieces. The workers were nice and had York Peppermint Patties for us. If you're a label whore, give Savvy a peek. It's oddly affordable in a neighborhood full of $200 sweaters.

This store is full of household decorations, cute travel knickknacks, fantastic party gifts, and a decent selection of tee shirts. Hi, I'm Gwen, and I'm a tee shirt-holic. I got myself two cute Capital University tees to sport around town. I didn't have much time to look around, so I definitely want to stop back and look for some gifts for my sister and teenage niece for Christmas this year!sorry for no pictures, folks. My clicking finger got engulfed is the plethora of cool postcards and around-the-world wall decor!

I love to support local businesses as they work very hard on the items they make. I bought a cute pair of paw print earrings since I've asked hubby for a pair and he didn't deliver. So onto the earrings, everything is handmade so it's great from the necklaces to earrings, you know it's made with local pride. I also got a block with the Ohio symbol and home written inside as it's very appropriate for my household. Maybe I should have gotten the Oxford one too since my hubby went to Miami, but I'll definitely be back soon for more stuff! I love supporting local businesses and giving back to the community that works so hard!
