The noodle texture here is perfection!!! I have been wanted to come here for so long and finally made the trek down. Will definitely return! Service with quick and easy with the self service kiosk and the staff were attentive and helpful. Quite no frills type of place so don't expect to be waited on but environment was clean and tidy. Now on to the noodles--I LOVE lousifen and usually eat the packaged ones so I was really excited to be able to have the real thing. This did NOT disappoint. The noodle texture was absolutely perfect. I ordered mild spice and it was actually very mild, if you enjoy spice, you can definitely order spicier. I would say mild is much much less spicy compared to the packaged versions. They are very generous with their toppings as well, my bowl was brimming and even came with this egg fritter on the side for you to add to your broth. Everything was delicious. We also ordered the beef brisket version and the brisket was super soft. I usually don't like brisket because it's sometimes tough but this one was done very well. Also tried their osmanthus dou hua and the texture was very silky, with this sweet shaved ice in the center. A great way to cleanse the palette at the end of the meal!

Found this place one day when I was starving. The toppings were really solid and definitely one of the highlights. That said, it felt a bit pricey -- I paid around $25 for the deluxe version, and honestly, it might be more worth it to just go with the regular option next time. The soup was a little too salty for my taste. I tried adding the fried egg, but it didn't really balance things out the way I hoped. I found myself needing quite a bit of white vinegar just to cut through the saltiness. Overall, not a bad spot -- good quality ingredients -- but the salt level and price point hold it back a bit for me.

Although ethnic food is everywhere in the Bay area these days, most restaurants play it safe and offer dishes with broad appeal, such that one rarely feels transported to a different country. It's not much like Anthony Bourdain. Eat at Lo Si Ding, however, and you will be transported into the deep jungles of Guangxi province, China. The sweet broth of the river snails (whose flesh you can pick out using the provided toothpicks) is mixed with a ferocious red spice, with which you wash down a variety of fermented vegetables and beans, fungi, Chinese sausage, quail eggs, rice noodles, and herbs. Then there is a crispy egg pancake that seems to be almost entirely oil. It is my opinion that there is no other restaurant in this area that is quite so authentically foreign as this one. Finally, you can take out the fermented bamboo shoots (whose characteristic smell is the chemical compound "skatole", the etymology of which is exactly what it sounds like). I highly recommend you do so.

I am still full thinking about this 12:30 I hit the spot - ordered at the kiosk with luckily a seat open. You do need a table number if you're dining in because the kiosk will ask where you're sitting. Just a heads up Ordered the tiger skin chicken feet with fried egg and fried intestine along with the Lemon drink. It was maybe 10-15 minutes to get my food . It was gigantic. I ate for literally 45 minutes non-stop and I still had too much left ‍ it was so hot and spicy and I think I only got the medium spicy any more spicy then I cannot handle it so I just want to warn you . Don't be too ambitious they have water that you can get yourself so make sure you grab that as well. The egg was so cool - it's not the way you think of fried egg it's so light and fluffy. The pork intestines was also super delicious I'm happy to have orders extra things. Yet I didn't finish The tomato base was really nice I help the soup not to be salty. All the toppings are also quite balanced with veggies and crispy bits. Now the drink was fine it's not sweet. But it's also not amazing. However they have tohua - a sweet tofu dessert that I didn't try yet but I have had sweet tofu at dim sum spot so I have extremely high hope that I would enjoy that. Next time for sure. I will likely get to go next time and split one bowl into 2-3 meals The line was getting quite long when I left so aim for an earlier lunch if you prefer not to wait. Not much to service - you order your own food and the server bring out the food and clean the table. There's only one server and many chef in the kitchen. The server will also go out to help with check in when the line build up. Just be willing to wait. It's so worth it though.

Crazy to think that there was a restaurant that opened up for Lousifen in downtown San Jose. I always eat the instant ones and so surprised and shocked to see that one open to close to me! Went right before they had their afternoon close around 1:40PM and the place was packed! Granted it was a small space but there were many people shuffling in and out which made the wait go by faster. You order through a Kiosk and get a table number assigned by the host/hostess. They bring you waters and utensils once ordering. The wait was a bit longer than anticipated but well worth the wait! The noodles itself was definitely a treat as it was jam packed with flavor and you get all fresh ingredients! The portion was also super big, we got two bowls but we could've definitely shared one. Overall, I enjoyed this place and the authenticity and will be one of my favorite spots to go to especially in the winter!

I've never had snail noodles at a restaurant! Only the instant ones which still take 30 mins to make so I was so excited to try this! You sit down somewhere and order at the kiosk. The food came out pretty fast and the noodles blew me away! I shared the tiger skin pork trotter noodles with my boyfriend but we'll def be ordering our own next time! The appetizers were alright I want to try the fried egg next time.. I like how they come around and pass out bibs and offer free broth and seasonings if needed. For dessert I ordered the red mean tofu hua and it was very refreshing! They were really generous with the red bean. The tofu hua was a little different than what I'm used to it wasn't as rich. Almost a bit like almond jelly texture? Anyway I'm so excited to come back my boyfriend and I loved this place!

Quick and efficient ordering kiosk, food came out quick with a free request on vinegar. The soup is very tasty and flavorful, strong taste of snails. My friend said the tomato soup is very good. I think this is a great spot for anyone like a heavier strong taste of lousifen. There is plenty of space in the restaurant, not a great parking lot but you will find parking eventually.

I am obsessed with luosifen and this place makes it SOOOOOO WELL. I highly recommend getting the Crispy Fried Egg Luosi Rice Noodle or the Deluxe version if you want a little bit of everything! The Tiger-skin Pork Trotters are yummy, but not a must. They do not skimp on the ingredients though! So much snail, pickled veggies, and noodles. The broth is so flavorful and a little oily. Not too salty. Sosososo tasty! Minimal seating inside, so expect to come with a small group (4 people max). There's only 5 small tables and a bar with maybe 5-6 seats. Parking in this plaza is easy, but a little sketchy.

This used to be milk tea lab. Interior is still similar. I think they sell their drinks still, didn't get it though. Parking lot is small. Gets pretty busy/not much seating. You order through the kiosk and get a number and wait at your table and they will bring your food to you. Items I ordered: - Deluxe Lousi Rice Noodles (mild) : The pork trotter was a bit overly braised for me. It was more like chicken feet that you get at dim sum. Bf liked it that way though. - Braied Beef Brisket Luosi Rice Noodles (mild) + added crispy fried egg : Wanted to get the tomato, but it was unavail at time. Beef a lil tough. Both noodles taste and portions were good. I recommend adding that vinegar. Flavors were strong. Couldn't really tell the fried egg was egg though. - Cucumber : Nice and refreshing change from the hot noodles

Authentic place serving luosifen, albeit the location and plaza isn't the best (which explains lower foot traffic amongst the targeted demographic). Parking can be a bit tight at peak times as well. For those uninitiated, luosife is a Guangxi province specialty, specializing in noodles with sea snails. Although the plaza may look a little run down, the interior of this shop is pristine. You order at a kiosk and the staff brings the food to you, so like half service. I ordered the Luosi Rice Noodle deluxe and a tomato beef brisket noodle. If you're here for the luosi, their luosi noodles are pretty stinky and authentic with a plethora of sea snails. The fried egg is also a local specialty in guangxi, and it's really good and worth ordering too. Their broths run on the spicy side but are very very good. This place is mainly setup as a small to go shop or just for quick meal with their row of barstools and only a few tables that sit up to 4 people. Clean atmosphere, nice and quick service with yummy noodles, and fair pricing!

Pork feet combo (and fried egg that comes with with it)
    Yikai L.

Four star for the food and one extra star for the exceptional staff and service! I came in on a random Friday for lunch. I have always been a LuoSiFen fan and regularly cook it at home. Decided to give this place a try. I went with the pork feet combo which has pretty much everything in it. I ordered medium spicy which is appropriate (not too spicy but enough kick for me). I think you will enjoy a bowl of LioSiFen like this with everything. I wish there's more of everything lol if I have to nitpick. The presence of 螺肉 whelk meat is a pleasant surprise. No specific ingredient stood out, but nothing to fault either. I'd like to give a shoutout to the staff and service here. Typically for a chinese fastfood stand like this I dont expect much service (not bad but minimal). But here the receptionist would bring me water before my food is ready, and refills when the cup is not even half empty. Whats more, after I finished eating, since I had nowhere to go just yet, I decided to stay and use my laptop. Not only was I welcomed, I got served another cup of water. I think such good service will eventually earn them good business.

So delicious so yummy! It is really hard to find such good Chinese restaurant in Bay Area.

This was my first time trying river snail noodles, but I saw it online and as a noodle soup lover I wanted to try it out! Overall the food was pretty good, service is easy because it's through a kiosk. When I got the food, there was a distinct pungent smell that took me a bit to get used to, but that comes with a lot of traditional Asian dishes in general. If you can get over the smell, the taste is still solid- savory and spicy. The omelet fry was delicious! I got one to share with my friend but should've just gotten one for myself.

Not only does it get really busy after work hours, many parking spots are reserved for other businesses. It's also usually crowded inside, making snagging a seat a bit hard. I will note that they don't seem particularly diligent about cleaning up between customers. You pick your own seats, and when I finally found a table, there was food residue visible on the tabletop. Their prices are a little higher than some other spots in SJ (ranging from ~$13 to $19 pre-tax), and I don't think the quality of the bingsoo is noticeably better to justify the price. I tried a pricier one (the premium strawberry), and found it to be quite good, but not $20 good. Plus, some aspects seem designed more for pictures than for eating. The little cheesecake slice is a bit hard because it's cold and difficult to eat with the shaved ice. That said, their bingsoo does taste good! The fruit tasted fresh and sweet, and the portion was enough for me to share with my partner. I wish the condensed milk was provided on the side instead of already poured on top, but I didn't mind the amount they gave. I may not be back immediately in the future, but I wouldn't mind visiting again. I would probably stick to the lower-priced options myself, though. The mango desserts were easily the best part of my visit. I tried the Pomelo & Mango with Sago, which combined sweet mango, creamy coconut milk, chewy sago, and fresh pomelo for a refreshing balance of flavors and textures. I also enjoyed the Mango Chewy Ball, where the fresh mango and smooth mango juice paired perfectly with the soft, chewy rice balls. Both desserts felt light while still being satisfying, making them a great option on a warm day. I also had the chance to try a few of the other menu items. The mango mochi was fresh and soft, with ripe mango wrapped inside a delicate chewy layer. For something different, the spicy chili fish balls offered a savory contrast to the fruit desserts, adding a bit of heat and a springy texture that balanced out all of the sweetness. The ordering process was quick and straightforward, and my food arrived not long after I found a table. The dining area was clean and comfortable, and small touches like providing wet wipes made the experience feel a little more thoughtful. It is the kind of place where you can stop in for a quick dessert or stay a little longer while sharing a few different items with friends. Overall, Hui Lau Shan is a great spot for anyone looking for fresh, fruit-forward desserts with authentic Hong Kong flavors. The quality of the mangoes, the variety of textures, and the relaxed atmosphere made it a place I would happily return to whenever I was craving something refreshing.

Durian crepes were light , had a good balance of durian and the whip cream .

I enjoyed my durian desserts. It was good, I'm not a fan of a lot of jellies in my drinks. I liked how it was made with coconut milk, durian, and jellies. I just would like my drink to be thicker and less jellies. But, it was still delicious. My sis ordered a Milo drink and wasn't a fan of it. My other sis got a strawberry matcha. She had no complaints. My mom enjoyed her taro dessert but wasn't a fan of the taro, durian, and salted egg. I thought it was overly sweet for my taste. We ordered extra drinks to offer to the monks (there were more than I expected)..oops! It was a warm day and we were all excited to be there. It was overall a great day and to have a place that was had unique Vietnamese drinks was a plus!

They give you the option to put double matcha (for the honey matcha latte) which is a plus! The double shot of matcha and the honey pairs really well together. It has the perfect amount of sweetness and a perfect amount of matcha to make it taste rich without being bitter. The strawberry matcha latte has strawberry puree and strawberry bits which makes it taste really sweet. It's a really good contrast of flavors and an overall solid strawberry matcha latte. They also updated the self-ordering kiosk with 2 instead of one now, so there's barely any lines now compared to when they first opened. The drinks are a lot quicker so you don't have to wait too long. There's also no seats inside but there's plenty of waiting space on the outside patio! Overall I would highly recommend this place for matcha lovers. Their matcha is super rich in flavor and they have a lot of options. Sometimes, they also have matcha powder in stock too! The spot is also right off of 280 so it's pretty convenient.

My first experience was pretty mid because the ceremonial matcha latte was VERY strong and bitter. I couldn't finish it and it made me super jittery. After coming back a few more times though, I found a couple things I really liked. The Crème Brûlée Matcha was delicious. I finished the entire drink. You can't change the sweetness level, which is unfortunate, but their recommended sweetness actually balanced the stronger matcha really well. The ice cream is probably the best thing here. Super creamy, perfectly sweet and really well blended. I would honestly come back just for the ice cream. The strawberry matcha latte was pretty unmemorable to me, and the hojicha was also extremely bitter. Service was good. The barista was kind and helpful, which I appreciated. You order through a kiosk, so there isn't a ton of interaction overall. When I first came around their opening, there was basically no line. After they started getting more hype, the lines became longer and longer. I think it's worth trying, but personally I wouldn't wait in a huge line for it. Overall, the matcha itself tastes authentic and is prepared well, but some drinks are just too bitter for my preference. My recommendations: the ice cream or Crème Brûlée Matcha. Those were easily the standouts for me.
