Thank you Apple Maps for finding me a late night spot for some delicious pho! The place is such a great spot for a date/being with friends. The staff were fast and friendly and will definitely be back
Beautiful interior but the booths were a little dirty. They weren't super busy but it seemed to be a constant flow of patrons coming in and out. I got the Phở Tái Bò Viên with fresh noodles. $22.50 is kinda overpriced for pho and the fresh noodles was an additional $2.50. The broth was very light which is typical for Northern Viet cuisine. For me, I wish there was more flavor. I did appreciate them serving it with cooked bean sprouts and the herbs were very fresh. My friend really enjoyed the Bún Chả Hà Nội. It looked to be more flavorful considering it came in a bowl of fish sauce. Parking here was easy on a weeknight and service was quick.
I drove by Pho Dang all the time but never had a chance to check it out until recently. My first impression was how modern and clean the decor is. This would be the perfect place to impress a date while sipping pho and enjoying the moment! The pho was delicious. The broth was light with almost no fat layer, but still packed with flavor (though you can request extra fat with onions if you like). They also offer both thick and thin noodles, just like other pho spots. The restaurant also offers a house-made chili paste; it tastes good, but I prefer the original Sriracha with my pho. Service is also great. If you are in the area, definitely check out this spot. Highly recommended!
This place will be a substitute for my beloved Cowboy Pho (RIP). I ordered the pho tai chin which came with a mix of filet mignon and brisket as I couldn't choose. The meat was tender and moist, complemented by the rich broth. Online reviews said to upgrade to the fresh noodles which I'm glad I did as it's the first time I've almost finished pho noodles before (usually it's too much, but these were soft and fresh). Don't sleep on the house made chili sauce (spicy!) and pickled garlic on the table to add some interest to bites. (I found it best to add it to my spoonful of broth/noodles/meat rather than dump into entire bowl to preserve flavor) Logistics: - indoor seating only - plenty of strip mall parking outside, can overflow to Walmart or greater Little Saigon spots
First time dining here and thought the pho was relatively good -- I think more pricey per bowl than nearby competitors but I think they may be factoring the amount of meats they add to the bowl. The broth was soothing and on the sweeter side. These guys definitely didn't skimp on the amount of protein added to each bowl and I did notice the noodles were cooked right. Thank goodness. The restaurant itself was nicer than the typical pho joints in San Jose. Service was standard as our server seemed very underwhelmed directing guests to tables -- and lacked enthusiasm taking our order. Paying $90+ after gratuity for three bowls of pho, I would've appreciated at least a smile. I would give this spot another try in the future to know for sure if it makes it to my top three pho spots in town.

Pho Dang is not your usual pho spot. The interior is classy and stylish. The pho comes out in huge bowls with nice presentation. The parkinglot can be full at times. Spots weren't plentiful, but a little patience can go a long way. Staff seated us and provided water and menus quickly. Ordering through them was easy as well. Fresh noodles are offered! The pho tai was a large bowl with flavorful broth. The fresh noodles were a good texture and not soggy. The meat was more plain than I liked, but not overdone with the hot soup. Green onions and cilantro were plentiful in the bowl. It was also served with a large side of bean sprouts and limes. The pricing is a little steep in comparison to other places, but the quality and ambiance difference is what you're paying for. I'll be back for special occasion pho!
The worst experience i've ever had. We were seated with an attitude. I ordered the chicken rotisserie, which was so dried that i couldnt finish it and it was pricey(19.50 for a dried dish). My bf odered a rare pho which was 22.50 for small portion. They didnt even bring us water, idk if we also have to buy water?!
I want to start off by saying the interior is very well done. The seating and table almost makes me feel like I should not be eating on them. The utensils and dinnerware have a solid, premium feel to them. The servers were very attentive and can take orders in English and Vietnamese. As for the food, they only serve the thin noodles in Pho. The meat is tender but the oxtail was slightly chewy. I think this location is underrated and deserves more attention apart from Vietnam Town.
Finally tried Pho Deng and I'm still thinking about that bowl of pho like it changed my personality a little Pho Tai Duoi Bo (Ox Tail Pho) This was hands down the freshest ox tail I've ever had in pho. Not just good. Not just tender. Fresh. The meat tasted clean and pure in a way that's hard to explain. Almost refined. The broth threw me off at first because it's different from most pho spots. I was told they use fewer "random" ingredients, and honestly that makes sense. It's less loud, less spice-heavy, less cluttered. Instead it tastes... pure. Clear. Focused. Like the essence of beef without distraction. I've never had broth like it before. The steak on the menu says filet mignon, and if that's true, that explains everything. The slices were insanely tender and flavorful. Melt-in-your-mouth level. Only note: the broth was warm, not scorching hot. Every pho place I've ever been to serves it lava-level hot, and I love it that way. We all mentioned we prefer it scorching. That said, the upside was we didn't have to wait forever for it to cool down. Silver lining energy Bun Cha Ha Noi I heard this was a newer dish on the menu and wow... this might be my new favorite Vietnamese dish. It comes with white noodles on the side that you dip into the broth. The meat was a mix of pork patties and separate pork pieces. The broth was surprisingly sweet, but in a good way. Balanced, flavorful, really addictive. My only complaint? I wish there was more broth. It was so good that I felt like I ran out too soon. Drinks Peach tea? Bomb. Easy recommendation. Egg coffee? I underestimated it. I've never had it before and treated it like regular American coffee. Big mistake. I chugged it and immediately felt like my heart was about to start doing Olympic sprints It's rich, sweet, and intense. Sip it. Respect it. Small Side Note Both restrooms were out of soap for the entire hour we were there, which was disappointing. Definitely something that should be addressed. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Pho Deng. The ox tail pho was unique and incredibly high quality, the bun cha Ha Noi is something I'll be craving again soon, and the drinks were memorable. If you want a pho experience that tastes clean, refined, and different from the usual heavy-spice profile, this place stands out in a really good way.
I ordered the Phở Tái Nạm Gầu. The broth was wonderful--I really enjoyed its rich umami flavor and Northern-style taste. However, the bowl was already expensive at $22.50, and they charged an additional $2.50 for fresh noodles, bringing the total to $25 for one bowl of phở. That is unbelievable, especially when similar bowls at other restaurants cost around $18. At that price, I expected a generous portion of meat, but there was barely any in my bowl. And just to clarify, the two pieces of meatball shown in the photo were given to me by my friend--they did not come with my order! This wasn't my first visit, and the meat portion was even smaller than what I received last time. Although the broth was delicious, the tiny amount of meat and extremely high price made this a very disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
Returned back and it's my first time coming in the morning and service was super fast! From ordering with our server and receiving our food was probably less than 20min. I've never eaten here in the morning before and the change of service is such a difference. I recommend going in the morning if you want everything fast fast fast. I always get the special pho and pickled onions and the broth & meat quality is always consistent. This is on my list of favorite pho in San Jose :)
Fancy restaurant with a smaller list of menu items (compared to the usual pho spots). Parking was easy and it's close to a big plaza. The pho was excellent and the broth tasted clean. I liked their hot sauce and pickled garlic. Great spot if you want to try bougie pho. read more
Pho with fancy vibes. Even their water cup was nice. They also did a quick boil of the bean sprouts here without us having to ask them to. I normally don't like meatballs much, but my friend said their meatball was house-made so I decided to try it. It was definitely a lot better than the frozen meatballs, and I do enjoy it. Their spicy (orange) sauce was amazinggg. It wasn't on the table as condiment, and we had to ask for it, but it was so addicting. Portion size was reasonable for one person. Either that or I was just starving at lunch time that day. A bit expensive for the portion size though. read more

Came here and a chilly night, so I had to get pho. I heard many things about this place so I was excited. The special pho (5/5): Not going to spell it all out, but this pho had the most types of different meats. I thought the broth was very fragrant with airoma. Food - the broth is so soothing and so much flavor not to mention the good amount of noodles and meat in your bowl. I felt full and satisfied. Parking -plenty of parking out in front Service - our waiter to stop bringing us water and condiments everyone was friendly and I felt welcomed. Ambience - the decor is very warm and I love the wood ceilings and the tables to chairs very unique designs. I highly recommend anyone trying out this restaurant read more

I was really hoping to love this place. I have seen so many reviews online saying this is the best pho in San Jose. Unfortunately it is not... the broth (the most important part) was not balanced and I was looking for more of that all day cooked beefy taste. For $22.50 a bowl, it should be immaculate! The interior of the restaurant was nice, upscale and remodeled, but I was there for the food. Service was fine (had to ask for more water and a sauce dish) but nothing amazing. I do love the fact that they offer pickled garlic and homemade chili sauce in addition to your typical hoisin and sriracha. The bean sprouts were blanched and they offered culantro, which were pluses. The broth really is supposed to be the star of the show... but i was left disappointed. read more
I came to pho dang with a friend around 11am on a Tuesday with a friend and we were promptly seated. It's more intimate and modern inside than expected, though tables were a tad close together giving it a little bit of a cramped feel despite the more modern furnishings. Service was polite and quick. I got the Pho Chin: portions were large, and the broth was perfectly warm and clean. The amount of meat and noodles was reasonable but didn't stand out in quality. I did appreciate the large amount of bean sprouts and herbs that were provided, and I really enjoyed their house spicy sauce and pickled garlic. Overall, Pho Dang provides a more modern, fancy atmosphere than most pho spots, and I really enjoyed the veggies, herbs, and condiments here, but the pho itself didn't stand out enough to justify the much higher price compared to the many other great pho spots in the area. read more

Maybe unqualified to judge how good a bowl of pho is and what's a good price. For how much you're paying, I don't think the food was worth it. When you walk in, the ambiance immediately stands out -- the decor is very modern and polished, definitely more stylish than most mom-and-pop pho spots. We came on a quieter day with only two other tables, but that made for good service, although the staff were kind of hiding in the back. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the price. The broth came out a bit lukewarm and felt thinner than I prefer, with a noticeable lack of depth in flavor. The meat was tender and they do give you the option to choose between thinner or thicker noodles, which I appreciated. Portions-wise, there were plenty of veggies, but the noodles felt skimpy for the cost. At around $26 per person for a bowl of pho, it felt pricey for what you're getting. Given the options on story road alone, I'd definitely try somewhere else next time. read more

Overall, okay! Location: in a shared plaza with some other restaurants right in front of a Walmart. The lot right outside the restaurant is on the smaller side but behind is a significantly larger lot where the Walmart is located Ambiance: clean modern Asian decor, relatively small but decent mix of smaller (seating 4) and larger (seating 6) tables Service: quick to take our order and our food came out within 5 minutes of ordering Food/drinks: ** Pho tai: the bowl came out with steam but the temperature of the broth was only lukewarm... meat was tender. Broth was clean but I think the depth of flavor was lacking. They do give you the option of choosing thinner (more typical of southern style pho) vs thicker noodles (more typical of northern style pho) ** Cafe sua da (Vietnamese coffee): THICK and STRONG. Loved it -- not sure if this straight Lee's sandwiches coffee concentrate (the texture and flavor is very reminiscent if not identical if I'm honest) but I like the Lee's coffee so no complaints here Cost: came out to be $75 for two pho and two drinks which is pretty pricey IMO but relative to the cost of living to be expected read more

Good pho spot that has decently late hours! Came here around 9:00 PM on a Saturday and there were very few people there. The tables are big with these wide heavy cushioned chairs, so it's a little more upscale than other more casual spots nearby. The waitstaff were very efficient, and we got our food in about 5 minutes. I got the Pho Tai and the meat was very tender. They gave the largest amount of basil and bean sprouts I've ever seen from a restaurant. Plenty of noodles, a bit pricier than other places in the area but good quality. I wish the broth was more flavorful. read more
This place has a beautiful interior. I came in on a cold night with my partner so the cozy atmosphere paired with delicious pho hit the spot! I loved the pho here, especially because of their housemade spicy sauce. Gave it a great kick with enhanced flavor. Really enjoyed it! If I didn't feel so full I would've finished all the broth. Just felt a little crazy paying $50+ for two bowls of pho but that's the economy we live in now I suppose. I'll definitely come back sometime! read more

Best pho I have had in the states so far. We went for a late lunch at 2pm and it was still very busy. Some of the servers did not speak English but the menu is simple enough to order without a problem. Everyone was very nice :) They have regular noodles and fresh noodles and both were really good. Planning to vist again soon! read more
Boujee vibes & decor = Pricy pho that doesn't justify what's actually being served. My family and I hit up Pho Dang simply because our initial pho joint was closed & this one was conveniently located down the street. At first glance, the restaurant is beautiful. The Pho Dang logo & print is listed all throughout the restaurant. Decor is very clean, modern, and exudes "upscale" vibes. Lunch consisted of: *TRÀ VẢI [Lychee Tea] *PHỞ TÁI - NAM - GẦU - GÂN [Filet mignon Rare Steak,flank, fatty flank, & tendon pho] *PHỞ TÁI - BÒ VIÊN [Fllet mignon Rare steak, meat balls pho] *CHẢ GIÒ [Egg rolls- 3pc] The ice tea was delicious- this was exactly what I needed to quench my thirst. Pho broth was good. The flavors were exactly what you would expect to find in your typical pho. Rare beef was beautifully plated and tasted great. I especially appreciated the tendon having some bite to it and not being overcooked. This is essentially where all the good aspects conclude. Complaints: The bowls consist of primarily broth. The noodle portions are extremely skimp especially factoring in the cost of each bowl is about $21. The egg roll order consists of 3 pieces and will set you back $10. Not bad, if the egg rolls were actually good. The filling of the egg rolls were mushy, the taro strings were undoubtedly undercooked, and the flavoring was extremely bland. 3 stars overall. While the pickled garlic is absolutely delicious and makes Pho Dang stand out, the rest of the food and portions just aren't worth the costs. I'd highly recommend Pho Dang for its decor and presentation but if you're in search of something truly authentic and delicious, this ain't it. read more

This is a fancy pho spot! We arrived on an early weekend evening and were seated right away since they had just opened. The entire atmosphere felt more upscale than your average pho restaurant. The special pho with fresh noodles was decadent. The quality of the noodles, broth, and beef was clearly superior. They also offer pickled garlic chips at the table, and the sprouts were pre-steamed before being served. I always crave sugarcane juice in San Jose, so I ordered one; this version included calamansi juice, which is common, but the balance between the calamansi and sugarcane was perfect. We went here twice. The first time, we were really wow'ed by the nice interior and tableware that they got. It really is a unique pho place aimed at creating a more luxurious vibe to stand out, and we appreciated that. I thought the pho itself was ok, although the meat is just a little chewy. The second time, we came back with our relatives, and we were disappointed. My biggest pet peeve about pho and other noodle soup dishes is lukewarm broth. We were served pho that just was not hot enough. We also ordered chè đậu xanh đánh (blended green bean) and chè xoa xoa hạt lựu, and both were served in plastic to-go cups in contrast with the nice tableware for the pho, and both were not good enough to be authentic Vietnamese chè. It is a nice place to take colleagues and business partners out for pho, but I wouldn't come back by myself or introduce my family and friends here--not until they fix the lukewarm broth at least. read more
We've been hearing about this place for a while, so we wanted to give it a try. It was pretty busy when we came in, but we were seated quickly. The seats are a little cramped, and our table was missing some of the condiments. We ordered a pho tai chin with fresh noodles and a special pho with normal noodles. The orders came out surprisingly quick. Perhaps as a consequence of the orders coming out incredibly quick, but the broth wasn't very hot, which is an issue if you want your table-vegetables to soften up or if you want your rare meat to cook quicker. The broth itself was okay... it felt like it was lacking some aromatics, while also having a bit too much fish sauce. The noodle texture was good - they had a nice springiness. The meat was nice and tender. However, overall portion sizes are a bit small for the price. read more
I really enjoyed my pho this time! The soup was hot (not luke warm), the meatballs are great. Highly recommend ordering the meatballs. I like crunchy meat so I got the crunchy flank also. My husband likes their rare steak. It's very tender. We always get the flat noodles. It was a good experience. read more

Good solid pho place. The broth is simple but good! I like how they do not over do it on the noodles as some places give too much. The meat in the pho here is good quality and can definitely tell the difference from other pho places. This place is a little pricier than other pho places, but they use good quality ingredients! We were sat and the interior was so aesthetically pleasing and nice. The chairs were a really big standout and were so nice, there are condiments on the table that honestly had good display. We got egg rolls, we ate that up so quickly so we forgot to take a picture lol, but we got pho, the filet mignon and brisket which had a lot of meat and they give you side dishes to put in. I've had this place on my to try list for awhile. I got the special with fresh noodle. As someone who eats a medium amount I thought the portion size was perfect for me, but for someone with a bigger appetite I think the noodle portion is on the smaller size. I liked the included meats and felt they included a lot! Usually it's the opposite: less meat and more noodle. The broth is flavored well: not too heavy, and light enough to allow the meats and noodles to shine through. Service was pretty quick! Noodles came out in 3-4 minutes after ordering. Super cute pho restaurant. Love the logo, interior, wooden cups and food. Very fast service. We ordered a few special pho bowls. Decent amount of soup and meat and the right amount of pho noodles. Broth was legit! Really hit the spot. Highly recommend this place if you are craving pho. read more

I ordered takeout from this place and was honestly pretty disappointed. For $22.50 a bowl, the portion size was shockingly small. The taste was decent, but nothing special or memorable--definitely not enough to justify the high price. What really stood out was how little food they gave. I'm a woman and I finished my entire bowl and was still hungry afterward, which almost never happens when I get pho elsewhere. At most other pho spots, I usually can't even finish a bowl. My husband also finished his and was still hungry. Also, we ordered the pork vermicelli and were charged $22.50, even though it should have been $21.50. That kind of pricing inconsistency just adds to the frustration. Overall, it feels overpriced for what you get. Decent flavor, but very small portions--just not worth it in my opinion. read more
