We didn't know this until we asked about it since a friend had told us by word of mouth (I didn't really see any advertisements anywhere). I will say it is hard to enjoy the freshness on the spot of the food, but for some items it's worth it especially if there's a line or wait. They are pretty quick about pumping people through here and the quality is all pretty good. Portions are decent so if you're looking for some good Vietnamese food, I'd check it out. Great authentic place to experience Vietnamese cuisine! They are really crowded on the weekends, so be prepared to wait. Pretty much everyone orders the banh beo. I walked through the restaurant and basically saw it on every table. It was one of the few gluten free appetizers that I could eat, and it was definitely tasty! Met up with some friends for lunch and they suggested to meet here. Parking at this complex is busy as a heads up. I ended up circling around for a bit till I got a spot. Walking over to the restaurant, this lady outside was hunched over a garbage can vomitting and I was worried!!! Walked inside our friends already got us a table so we sat down right away. Popped in before the Sharks game to get our noodle fix! We ordered all the banhs! Banh bot loc, banh beo, and banh ram it. They were all so good! I just love the chewiness of each one. They do not skimp on the shrimp powder on the banh beo either. They gave us two types of sweet fish sauce, one with peppers and one without. TBH I didn't notice any spiciness in the sauce, but I also didn't eat any of the peppers. The banh bot loc and banh ram it came out super hot so do be careful biting into those as the steam does get trapped inside. The banh ram it was my fav. I love the contrast in textures from crunchy to glutinous and chewy. So fun to eat! Between 5 of us, we ordered two of each appetizer to share. 5 people in our group went with the OG bun bo hue, except me, cause I like to order something difff from my BF so that I can taste more things lol The BBH had a good flavor, but you have to ask for more sa te sauce on the side. These are pre portioned too. They also do not give you any condiments on the table, so that was kind of a bummer because we love to dress our noodles. The broth was not as spicy or hot as we would have liked. I went with the bun cha hanoi. The portion was huge, but I also ate a lot of the apps, so I was pretty full from those already. I came here one evening for dinner and ordered a variety of items to try. This place has been on my list to try for a while per recommendations. Here I tried the: Banh Beo, Banh Bot Loc, Banh Ram It, Chao Tom, Bun Bo Hue, Bun Cha Ha Noi, and Co'm Suon Trung Op La Overall, everything was fine. I really enjoyed their banh ram it which is a fried and steamed dumpling, lots of textural contrast. The chao tom which is sugarcane shrimp was not my favorite, as the shrimp did not taste fresh. Many people around me had ordered the bun bo hue so I tried that, it was okay. It has a strong lemongrass flavor, hard to taste the fermented shrimp, and the pork blood was not fresh. For the Co'm Suon Trung Op La which is a rice plate, it came with a pork chop which was very dry, the egg was a bit overcooked, but overall it was fine. Lots of folks seem to really enjoy this place, it is very busy - but maybe I ordered the wrong things but I think this spot is fine. The restaurant was packed but turnaround was pretty fast, it seems like most people didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes. Hue is a no frills Vietnamese restaurant known for their bun bo hue. If you don't know what that is, it's a beef noodle soup with a rich broth that's flavored with pork blood (although you can't taste the blood). It's located in a plaza with parking and we were seated immediately. I got the #18 bun bo hue with oxtail ($16.50) which had a good amount of spice. I was told the spice can be inconsistent but it was good when I went. I liked the chewiness of the noodles which paired well with the soup. There was only one piece of oxtail which was small, not tender, and didn't have much meat at all. We also ordered the #1 banh beo ($5.95) and the #11 nem nuong cuon cha ram / grilled pork spring rolls ($6.95). I liked drenching the sauce on top of the banh beo and I liked the added crunch of the fried pork skin. The spring rolls were only with only a thin piece of meat which was not too flavorful. Tasty, no frills, comforting Vietnamese food that is worth a visit whether you're a local familiar with Vietnamese food or you've never had it before! My mom is from Hue (central Vietnam), and the food here looks and hits just like the food my family would make. From the banh beo (steamed thin savory rice pancakes) to the bun bo Hue (Hue style spicy beef noodle soup) to less common things like com hen (rice with baby clams and savory clam broth), they had all sorts of dishes from central Vietnam that you don't even see in most other Vietnamese restaurants. To start, me got an order of the banh beo which seemed to be the most popular thing here (we saw tray and trays of it coming from the kitchen)- the rice batter was steamed and soft with a good amount of savory dried shrimp and pork lardon crisps, all in all a very well made banh beo. My wife got the banh canh cha ca (thick udon-like noodles in a seafood broth with fish meatballs), it was a bit thicker than how my family makes it but that part is always just preference from the chef, the flavor was on nice and savory without being too salty. The com hen (baby clam rice) is a bit of an acquired taste, with juicy baby clams and a slightly funky very salty savory shrimp paste sauce. While I was only in California visiting for a friend's wedding in the area, I wish I had a restaurant like this where I live now so I could have all these central Vietnamese staples I've been missing! read more

We recently came back to Hue. I normally bring my friends here but this time I brought my family of 4. Of course I always order the Banh Ram It, but 2 orders (6 pcs total) for the four of us. And they were in looooove!!!! We got the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup) with sliced filet beef and it had really good, deep, spicy flavor, just as I thought it would, since BBH is a specialty soup from that region. We also ordered the Banh canh (udon) with the huge shrimp and crab paste balls and my daughter loved it. The banh canh broth was light and the banh canh noodles were not white like you would normally see. They were almost transluscent, which was different, and very good. Then of course we had to order our Bo Luc Lac (Shaking beef filet mignon), one with garlic noodles, the other with tomato rice, both served with a huge side of lettuce, cucumbers and some pickled daikon and carrots. Of course, delicious! For drinks/dessert drinks, I got the Thai iced tea which is always good. Perfect sweetness! My son got the dessert drink Suong Sa Hot Luu and everyone makes it differently, and this one wasn't bad. Not my favorite, just not as good as I've had it at other places... 3.5 out of 5. My husband ordered a mung bean (che dau xanh) dessert and it should have been blended more. It was too chunky and had too much chunky ice which did not make for a good blended dessert drink. 3 out of 5. Then my daughter had a milk tea with boba. The server told us the boba was a white boba and not the black boba. We didn't know what that was but tried it anyway. And it was not boba. It's still one of my favorite restaurants, and I love bringing friends here to introduce them to Vietnamese food (beyond just pho!). They've made a few changes since my first visit. They now have a mobile ordering system with QR codes at each table, so you can order and pay right from your phone. It's super convenient and saves a lot of time since you don't have to wait for a server. Something that I ALWAYS order when I come is the banh ram it. There's something about the crispy, chewy dough that goes so well with the sticky shrimp-and-pork-filled dumpling that makes it so addicting to eat. You also can't go wrong with a classic banh beo! My partner always gets the BBH, it's different from BBH An Nam but not in a bad way. The banh beo is a must every time for me. Their viet coffee is on the sweeter side if you like that. I think it's the perfect amount of sweetness. Service is fast. They get busy around lunch even with take out orders and still manage to have fast service. The ambiance is loud. Amazing banh xeo! Originally, I wanted to go to the place across that serves Banh Xeo but they were closed. I've been to Hue in the past and really liked their appetizers and very good bun Bo hue. However, today I'll be raving about this Vietnamese savory crepe dish. + Banh Xeo here has the best filling with huge pork slices, shrimp and plenty of bean sprouts. Their shell is crispy and a little thicker than other places. The side of veggies are fresh but I could use a little more which they happily gave us. (5 stars) + Got seated at lunchtime pretty quickly on a weekday and although my banh xeo took a few minutes longer than I expected, I am ok since it was very hot and crispy. (4 stars) + Restaurant is filled with serious Vietnamese foodies. This is not your typical pho place. Their know for their BBH and dry noodles. The ambiance here is just nice enough to go on a date with your significant other and you can find out if he/she is the one just based on their adventurous level. Food - The last time I had a Mi Quang was in Hoi An, I had to order it when I saw it on the menu. - Also got a Nem Nuong Cuon, spring roll. - Great flavors and large portions! - I did see a lot of people order the Bun Beo, it would've been too much food for me to get it. Service - Fast wait to be seated and fast ordering. - Food came quick! Ambiance - Very busy and packed inside. - Lots of seating! - 1 male and 1 female bathroom, so a bit of a wait for a large restaurant full of people.
