There was a high customer turnover in the restaurant which was excellent for our big group. There were multiple staff available for any requests we may have had. Second, all of the appetizers were delectable and light. I really enjoyed the Banh Ram It and the Banh Bot Loc the most. These are definitely worth a try. I have tried the Banh Xeo before and had I not ordered so much for the table, I would have ordered it this time. It's crisp, light, refreshing, and filling enough for two people. Third, the Hue specials are a must try. The Bun Bo Hue and the Mi Quang were standouts for our table. This is a fantastic spot to come and try with a group of people. The BBH this time I really liked cause it had such a cleaner broth the day I went. I really like it when I can add the shrimp paste myself then it being cooked in. Since it's more customizable. The place gets really busy, so we had to wait around 20-30 minutes to be seated, but once we got in, the service was fast and the staff were super nice. They checked on us pretty often and made sure everything was good. I've tried almost all of the Vietnamese side dishes here, like bánh ram ít, bánh bèo, chả tôm, chả giò, and a few others. My friend also tried some of the main dishes like bún bò Huế, phở, and cơm tấm. The portions are all really generous. Came by for lunch the other day and it was a tasty experience. Parking is available in the strip mall lot or on the surrounding surface streets. Dining is available indoors in the air conditioned dining room or outdoors in front of the restaurant. The restaurant seems to be popular so it's best to come before or after peak hours. There appears to be a QR code on the table for ordering. Waitstaff came by to take our order. Started off with the Ram It and it was tasty. There was a crispy dough on the bottom and it was topped off with a gigantic mochi and toped off further with some dried shrimp. This was served with some type of vinegary spicy sauce. Moved on to the bun bo hue for the main and it was quite tasty. Broth was decent. Noodles were al dente and the meats were quite tender, including the pork trotter. It's nice to see a restaurant that focuses on Central Vietnamese food (especially in San Diego) so I wanted to come here! No wait when we came around 5PM on a weekday but it got busy as we ate. Hands down the best Banh Beo and Bun Bo Hue in the south bay. There is simply no contest to quality and I've been back to the motherland to compare. This is an update to my long-time visits to Huế on Silver Creek. I've always loved their bánh xèo, and today was another memorable meal. Food (4.5 stars) + Their bánh xèo remains a standout. The crepe is crispy, generously filled with pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts. The piping-hot freshness made every bite burst with flavor when wrapped in lettuce, Vietnamese herbs and dipped in their sweet fish sauce. It's like having an amazing Asian crepe salad (5 stars) - Slight nitpick: They serve fewer veggies compared to other spots nearby, but it's still a solid dish. You simply can ask for extra lettuce I think. Service/Ambiance (4 stars) + We were seated immediately even during a busy lunch hour. + Restaurant is always clean and dishes have nice presentation. ~ The service was polite, and they did replace a plate of lettuce promptly when we discovered a small bug. I understand these things happen, but more attention could help avoid that. Also, staff could be a bit more aware when we try to flag them down. Overall, I'm still a fan. This place used to be my wife's go to bun bo hue spot and I finally got to try it. I love a place that offers to have the bun Bo hue without the blood cubes before I can even ask. The food was actually top tier because I was eating like there was no tomorrow even though I had already had food in my stomach. We didn't know this until we asked about it since a friend had told us by word of mouth (I didn't really see any advertisements anywhere). Here I tried the: Banh Beo, Banh Bot Loc, Banh Ram It, Chao Tom, Bun Bo Hue, Bun Cha Ha Noi, and Co'm Suon Trung Op La Overall, everything was fine. I really enjoyed their banh ram it which is a fried and steamed dumpling, lots of textural contrast. The chao tom which is sugarcane shrimp was not my favorite, as the shrimp did not taste fresh. Many people around me had ordered the bun bo hue so I tried that, it was okay. It has a strong lemongrass flavor, hard to taste the fermented shrimp, and the pork blood was not fresh. For the Co'm Suon Trung Op La which is a rice plate, it came with a pork chop which was very dry, the egg was a bit overcooked, but overall it was fine. Lots of folks seem to really enjoy this place, it is very busy - but maybe I ordered the wrong things but I think this spot is fine. If you don't know what that is, it's a beef noodle soup with a rich broth that's flavored with pork blood (although you can't taste the blood). I was told the spice can be inconsistent but it was good when I went. I liked the chewiness of the noodles which paired well with the soup. There was only one piece of oxtail which was small, not tender, and didn't have much meat at all. We also ordered the #1 banh beo ($5.95) and the #11 nem nuong cuon cha ram / grilled pork spring rolls ($6.95). I liked drenching the sauce on top of the banh beo and I liked the added crunch of the fried pork skin. The spring rolls were only with only a thin piece of meat which was not too flavorful.
