I love their bun bo hue because it's packed with so much flavor! All of the other dishes I ordered were delicious and their fish sauce wasn't watered down.
If you are planning to try this restaurant out, I'd highly recommend a weekday and avoid the weekend (unless you like waiting in long lines surrounded by cigarette smoke). Overall, the environment was very loud, overwhelming, and smoke everywhere you walked on the outside. As for the food, I had the Bun Bo Hue, Banh Xeo, and Banh Ram It. I enjoyed the BBH, as it was pretty flavorful. However, I was disappointed when the tables did not have extra spices and sauces that I could utilize to add into my food. The Banh Xeo was pretty filling. One downside of that experience was that the nuoc mam tasted very diluted and lacking flavor. And for the Banh ram it, it was okay. I was expecting it to be crunchy, but it was more of a mochi texture than anything. It was definitely a one time experience for me. Tried this place once and I don't think I'll be back.
Arrived here at 1pm on a Saturday, we had to write our name and party size down on the clipboard and there was a wait of about 5 parties before us. The wait wasn't terribly long. It's quite packed inside and the tables were all pretty close together to others. It was hard to find parking in this plaza. I was excited to try their Banh It Ram and the price($6) is decent compared to the place in Sacramento. The filling is alright but the fried part wasn't crunchy enough. The sauce dip it came with wasn't flavorful and was super diluted tasting, wish it had more fish sauce. I'd rate a 2/5 for this. The banh xeo was huge, filling, and super crispy. The sauce also tasted diluted. I'd rate a 4.5/5 for this one. The bun Bo hue was alright. My husband ordered that and I didn't eat much of it so I don't have much to say about that one.

Even though we went on a less busy day, there was still a steady flow of people coming in and out, and the service was fast. The pork skin on the bánh bèo was nice and crunchy, and the bún bò Huế tasted authentic and flavorful. Overall, a great spot for Vietnamese food with quick service!

So crunchy and paired well with the rice cakes. The banh it ram was amazing. I love the shrimp filling and the contrast with the crunchy rice dumpling under. Main: The bun bo hue was FLAVORFUL. It genuinely did not need additional sauce. My only critique was I wish it was hotter because all the vegetables cooled down my broth a bit. The meat and noodles were generous. I could barely finish this without help. Overall, hits the spot.
My go-to spot for all the central Vietnamese foods. 1. I love the appetizer selection at Hue, especially the banh beo, banh bot loc, and the banh ram it. These my are go to each visit. They come out almost immediately after ordering and are the perfect items to whet your appetite. 2. I appreciate that the banh bot loc comes unwrapped and with some fried pork skins. The banh ram it is always crispy and chewy. You get a lot of fish sauce with the appetizers as well. Hue's version is on the sweeter side and is very drinkable. 3. The bun bo hue is very standard and comes with a lot of toppings. Next time I want to try the mi quang and banh xeo!
Needed a quick soup fix and Hue was a successful choice. I came on a Tuesday evening at 7PM. This Silver Creek plaza parking lot can definitely get super crowded during weekends, but it wasn't too bad on a weekday night. We got our food around 15 minutes after we ordered. I got the Bun Bo Hue, while my friend got a vegetarian option. The broth was warm and soothing, and the rice noodles were chewy. I was surprised to see that the dish didn't have pork blood in it, but the meat was fresh and tender regardless. And hey, a $14.50 bowl is hard to come by these days. The menu is quite vast, so I definitely need to explore more options like the banh xeo. But the bun bo hue hits the spot!

Dining is available indoors in the air conditioned dining room or outdoors in front of the restaurant. The restaurant seems to be popular so it's best to come before or after peak hours. There appears to be a QR code on the table for ordering. Waitstaff came by to take our order. Started off with the Ram It and it was tasty. There was a crispy dough on the bottom and it was topped off with a gigantic mochi and toped off further with some dried shrimp. This was served with some type of vinegary spicy sauce. Moved on to the bun bo hue for the main and it was quite tasty. Broth was decent. Noodles were al dente and the meats were quite tender, including the pork trotter. There were even numerous pieces of pork blood too. This was served with a bed of fresh vegetables to go with the bun bo hue. Restaurant takes credit cards and contactless payment can be done with the server via their handheld tablet.

Banh beo + Banh it ram were SO good and I would make the trip down here just for that! Highly recommend :) Love the hole in the wall feel here, but they are organized and attentive!
Love coming here with my family! We ordered Banh beo, bun Bo hue & Bun Bo Hue Gia Heo. Flavor is unbeatable. Service was super quick. It can get crowded and busy, but you'll get seated quickly.

We just visited Hue Restaurant last night and had a great experience. We ordered the Bún Bò Huế and the Shaken Beef with Tomato Fried Rice, and both dishes were very tasty and flavorful. There was a bit of a wait even though we arrived around 8 PM, but honestly, that just showed us how popular the place is. The food was definitely worth waiting for! We were also pleasantly surprised by the prices. With food costs and eating out being so expensive lately, it was nice to find a restaurant with really good food at very reasonable prices. We would definitely come back again and try more dishes. Highly recommended! read more

It's nice to see a restaurant that focuses on Central Vietnamese food (especially in San Diego) so I wanted to come here! No wait when we came around 5PM on a weekday but it got busy as we ate. Service was good and the food came out really quickly! Bun Bo Hue (4.5/5): rich and flavorful, one of the better BBH I've had. Even at less spicy, it was a good spiciness level for me lol. Beef was a little chewy but there was a lot of toppings and noodles. A big portion size Banh Ram It (4/5): my first time trying this dish after seeing it go viral on social media. I've never heard of it even though my family is from Vietnam lol. The bottom was nice and crispy, and the middle part was chewy and had a good amount of shrimp filling. The dipping sauce was good too. I haven't seen many restaurants offer this, but I would definitely get it again! read more
The wait on a Saturday morning was about 15 minutes for a table for 2. It was a surprisingly short wait! We ordered two orders of Banh Beo. They were soft, warm, and flavorful! Highly recommend ordering this for your appetizer. Skip the Banh Bot Loc. It was chewy and the tapioca was very thick and not as soft as I personally prefer. The Nem Chua was delicious but a bit expensive for just two pieces. My entree was the Bun Tom Cua Hue. Imagine a sibling to Bun Bo Hue without the beef. It was very flavorful and I loved the shrimp and crab cake. The dish was like a cross between bun bo hue and bun rieu. I'd definitely come back for more Banh Beo! read more

Been back a few times since my first review and quality is still the same and so delicious. One thing I'm pretty impressed by is how quickly people can get seated and how quick the service is. The bun bo hue continues to be delicious and the steamed rice cakes are always a go to! Very popular environment and busy most of the time so you know that it's good. Food: Banh Bot loc is my fav dish so I've been wanting to find a place that has it near me. Delicious but not the best bc it's still very doughy and could use a bit more meat in it! Bun bo hue was so good and flavorful with a good portion of meat. Banh it ram was our favorite here!! Ask for the fish sauce bc they don't just bring it out for you. Tried Hue food for the first time! We got a few apps on top of their noodles that were variations of small bites of shrimp, pork in steamed or gelatinous rice. Classic was the banh beo but i actually really liked number 2! The wrapper is chewier than the translucent dumplings you get in dim sum places, which I was a fan of. Bustling restaurant with quick service in a modern environment. Got here for lunch on a Sunday, and there were 5 parties ahead of us on the list inside; we walked around the plaza for a few minutes and by the time we came back, our name had been crossed off. We signed back up and got our table within 2 minutes. While not familiar with hue food, we really enjoyed the variety of appetizers and hue specialities listed on the menu. We got the banh bot loc, sugarcane shrimp, and bun ho hue. Banh bot loc was really chewy and savory, but wish the shrimp was fully de-shelled. Sugarcane shrimp was very juicy and plump. Bun Bo hue (combination and rare beef) were both nicely spiced and had that fresh lemongrass flavor. You may need to flag servers down once in a while for water, if they forget something, or even put down other tables' food since they're so busy, but they're quick once they know what you need. read more
This is an update to my long-time visits to Huế on Silver Creek. I've always loved their bánh xèo, and today was another memorable meal. Food (4.5 stars) + Their bánh xèo remains a standout. The crepe is crispy, generously filled with pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts. The piping-hot freshness made every bite burst with flavor when wrapped in lettuce, Vietnamese herbs and dipped in their sweet fish sauce. It's like having an amazing Asian crepe salad (5 stars) - Slight nitpick: They serve fewer veggies compared to other spots nearby, but it's still a solid dish. You simply can ask for extra lettuce I think. Service/Ambiance (4 stars) + We were seated immediately even during a busy lunch hour. + Restaurant is always clean and dishes have nice presentation. ~ The service was polite, and they did replace a plate of lettuce promptly when we discovered a small bug. I understand these things happen, but more attention could help avoid that. Also, staff could be a bit more aware when we try to flag them down. Overall, I'm still a fan. Huế's bánh xèo keeps me coming back, and I'll happily round this visit up to 5 stars. read more

Amazing bun bo hue, would come back to try all of their other variants! Service is extremely speedy, and the food came out relatively quickly. All of the meat is so tender, I loved the oxtail bun bo hue (note that it comes with all of the regular bun bo hue items with oxtail as an addition). Interior was very clean as well and they have a good selection of desserts. read more
This is some good Viet food! I've been coming here for years and I've intro'ed my Viet and non Viet friends and everyone always found something they loved here. I only have positive things to say. The service is generally quick and nice as well. The Paloma parking can be busy during busy hours so that is something to consider. They have a special promotion for certain items like soups and select appetizers. This is a small percentage off if you order to go instead of dine in. We didn't know this until we asked about it since a friend had told us by word of mouth (I didn't really see any advertisements anywhere). I will say it is hard to enjoy the freshness on the spot of the food, but for some items it's worth it especially if there's a line or wait. They are pretty quick about pumping people through here and the quality is all pretty good. Portions are decent so if you're looking for some good Vietnamese food, I'd check it out. Hands down the best Banh Beo and Bun Bo Hue in the south bay. There is simply no contest to quality and I've been back to the motherland to compare. The blood cubes are rendered to melt in your mouth and the tendons are juicy. The staff here is on their A-game with getting patrons in and out the door. This place gets BUSY. I remember when the restaurant was just the right side and its been expanded for a while now. There is so much more room inside and outside yet the lines go out the door. The Bún Bò Huế was delicious, and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the Bánh Canh Chả Cá. I ordered it to go, but they put the bánh canh noodles directly into the soup instead of packing the noodles and soup separately. By the time I got home, the noodles had absorbed most of the broth and became extremely soggy. As you can see in the photo, there was barely any soup left. For a to-go noodle soup order, I really don't understand why it was packed this way. I paid $14.95 for the Bánh Canh Chả Cá and basically couldn't enjoy it. It honestly felt like I wasted $14.95. The Bún Bò Huế was great, but the way the Bánh Canh Chả Cá was packaged completely ruined the dish. I hope the restaurant packs the noodles and broth separately for future to-go orders. read more

Great authentic place to experience Vietnamese cuisine! They are really crowded on the weekends, so be prepared to wait. Pretty much everyone orders the banh beo. I walked through the restaurant and basically saw it on every table. It was one of the few gluten free appetizers that I could eat, and it was definitely tasty! Overall, a good selection of rice and vermicelli dishes, and the portions are a generous size. The atmosphere is a bit loud, but that's to be expected with the environment. Try the lemonade on a hot day, definitely worth it! read more

Met up with some friends for lunch and they suggested to meet here. Parking at this complex is busy as a heads up. I ended up circling around for a bit till I got a spot. Walking over to the restaurant, this lady outside was hunched over a garbage can vomitting and I was worried!!! Walked inside our friends already got us a table so we sat down right away. We ordered our food however I don't think the waitress knew much English so luckily our friend spoke Vietnamese and we got our orders in. The place was busy and had a lot of folks stopping by for lunch. I didn't get their special but opted for a noodle/beef dish and it was soooo good. I killed the entire bowl. My friend also ordered some appetizers and they were also really good. I would come back and eat here to try the various plates that they had. read more

Popped in before the Sharks game to get our noodle fix! We ordered all the banhs! Banh bot loc, banh beo, and banh ram it. They were all so good! I just love the chewiness of each one. They do not skimp on the shrimp powder on the banh beo either. They gave us two types of sweet fish sauce, one with peppers and one without. TBH I didn't notice any spiciness in the sauce, but I also didn't eat any of the peppers. The banh bot loc and banh ram it came out super hot so do be careful biting into those as the steam does get trapped inside. The banh ram it was my fav. I love the contrast in textures from crunchy to glutinous and chewy. So fun to eat! Between 5 of us, we ordered two of each appetizer to share. 5 people in our group went with the OG bun bo hue, except me, cause I like to order something difff from my BF so that I can taste more things lol The BBH had a good flavor, but you have to ask for more sa te sauce on the side. These are pre portioned too. They also do not give you any condiments on the table, so that was kind of a bummer because we love to dress our noodles. The broth was not as spicy or hot as we would have liked. I went with the bun cha hanoi. The portion was huge, but I also ate a lot of the apps, so I was pretty full from those already. This dish comes with a whole platter of veggies, herbs and noodles with a small bowl of meat soaking in the fish sauce. The nem nuong and sliced pork were okay.. Kinda dry tbh. I would skip this dish here. The food here is fairly cheap and I believe their take out options are even cheaper. Located in a plaza with lots of yummy eats so you can eat and then shop for Asian goods, and also dessert. Parking is plentiful as there is a shared lot and service was very fast. This place used to be my wife's go to bun bo hue spot and I finally got to try it. I love a place that offers to have the bun Bo hue without the blood cubes before I can even ask. The food was actually top tier because I was eating like there was no tomorrow even though I had already had food in my stomach. Food came out quick despite how busy it was for dinner on a Sunday night. Servers were super nice and answered any questions I had. Will definitely be coming back especially when I need food that heals the soul. read more
