I had to try them. Walked by here many times always thinking I should but always just ate beforehand. Ands as expected, they were quite good. Crispy and tasty. But kind of smaller than I expected for the price. And it takes a long time to get them after ordering so I'm ambivalent about the service; I think because they have a lot of online our phone orders. Personally I think in house orders should take precedence. But they come out piping hot and are worth it. The place itself is ok... few places to sit and seems clean.
Famous eggroll shop in San jose. It small shop with some seating inside. The store is clean. This place is famous for it vietnamese small bite. We ordered Banh khot, egg roll, Banh Hoi, and vietnamese ice coffee. I like the Banh Khot and egg roll. Looks like it is made when you order it. They are warm and crunchy. Banh Hoi is ok. The vietnamese ice coffee is strong and good. Will visit next time for other stuff.
I first heard about this place after seeing Raina post about a food challenge she did here. The crispy egg rolls looked so good that I had to check it out. I was especially hoping the spring rolls would be similar to the ones I love from Brodard in Southern California, so I came in with my fingers crossed. They have some nice combo deals, but I wanted to sample a few different items instead. I ordered one of each of the fried egg rolls (only $2 each) and originally ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls. While I was waiting, I changed my mind and decided I wanted to try the Nem Nuong rolls instead. They were incredibly nice and changed my order without any issues, which I really appreciated. The place was extremely busy, so I ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. The net-wrapped egg roll was excellent, super crispy with great flavor. Just be sure to eat it over a plate or with a bag underneath because those crunchy flakes go everywhere! The regular egg roll was slimmer than I expected, but it was also very tasty. The Nem Nuong rolls were good too. They didn't quite reach the level I was hoping for compared to Brodard, but they were still very enjoyable. The house dipping sauce was delicious and really complemented the rolls. They also include a small container of hot sauce for anyone who likes a little spice. I tried it, but honestly preferred sticking with the house sauce. The restaurant itself is small and simple, with only about three tables, so it seems like it's geared more toward takeout, which was obvious from the steady stream of takeout orders while I was there. Next time, I'll probably call my order in ahead of time to save some waiting. Overall, a great spot for Vietnamese appetizers at reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu.

It remains crispy even if it's been sitting for a bit (as long as you air it out) and if you reheat it in the air fryer, it's still crisp! The net egg rolls or regular are wonderfully crispy and flavorful. The nem nuong is the best I've had, just like the OG spot in SoCal. The garlic noodles are so chewy and garlicky in the best way. They even have sugar cane juice which is so refreshing to wash everything down. If you're looking for a quick Viet fix this is THE spot to go to. Don't hesitate any further!

Finding good banh khot in the area is difficult lol. I've heard so much about SJ Eggrolls so I was excited to try them out for the first time! I read up on some reviews before coming in and learned there could be a long wait, so I ended up calling in ~30 minutes before I planned on getting there. I was particularly excited about the Banh Khot and netted eggrolls the most, but they mentioned that the eggrolls were unfortunately sold out that day (we came in around lunchtime on a weekend) We ordered the banh khot and garlic shrimp noodles and ate them at home, and both were delicious!! The banh khot was warm and crunchy. I love when you can taste hints of coconut and when the garlic is suuuper strong lol The garlic noodles were alright tbh. The noodles were a little hard but the shrimp was cooked perfectly! They're definitely meant to be more of a takeout spot. They were pushing out party trays like crayyyy when we were there. I'd definitely keep them in mind for these occasions in the future!
A great deal with tasty food! I visited on a Wednesday afternoon, and it was surprisingly busy. The interior is spacious but only has a couple tables. We waited for a bit, and a table opened up shortly after. You place your order with the cashier before finding a seat. The atmosphere of SJ Eggrolls is casual, with a huge TV playing sports and minimal decor. The food arrived soon after I ordered. Their signature net egg rolls are phenomenal. I am obsessed with the crunchy net wrapping - it was the perfect crispy texture. The filling of pork and shrimp was savory and delicious. It paired well with lettuce, mint, pickled carrots, and a sweet chili sauce. I loved the spring rolls as well. They tasted super fresh and had a variety of fillings. The Chinese sausage spring roll was my absolute favorite. The salty sausage contrasted well against the clean, fresh vegetables. Every dish was a very good price. Such an incredible experience, I can't wait for my next visit!

I arrived about 10 minutes prior to my estimated pickup time and the egg rolls (netted and regular) were ready but the Banh Khot were still being cooked. The estimated pickup time on the website was pretty accurate. Everything made the 35 minute journey home and stayed crispy!! The regular egg rolls were tasty but nothing special. The netted egg rolls however, I'd come back for. They were crispy all throughout and the filling was well seasoned. The Banh Khot were very crispy with a nice and pleasant chew from the coconut batter. My husband loved the flavor and texture. I wasn't a huge fan of the coconut flavor being so prominent but I know that's a staple of Banh Khot batter. Next time I'd skip the regular egg rolls but I'm happy I tried them!

Food is fresh to made, it took about 20-30 mins for all our food.
Hole in the wall in a huge plaza. Everything I tried was so delicious, fresh, and crispy!! Would def come back for all three items I got: Banh Khot, eggrolls, and net eggrolls. 10/10 highly recommend!! (Down 1 star due to cleanliness of the space)

Basically it's a Vietnamese fast food. Very disappointed the netted eggrolls were completely sold Out even thought I came in before noon. The order took over 30 mins since they had so many phone in orders. I think they need to figure out a way to make their process more efficient to lower the wait time. Other than that will Return to try their netted eggrolls.
Amazing egg rolls here with a tasty inside. Banh khot was also solid. Came with a piece of shrimp and dried shrimp over it. Soft middle and crispy edges. Good size. Everything was crispy and not at all oily. Comes with vegetables that you can wrap with and dip in the fish sauce. Takeout place but with like 3 tables inside if you want to eat there. Server was nice and saw that we were eating inside and gave us water and extra bowls. Would come back to try their banh xeo and other Vietnamese dishes.

The only downside was the wait time, which can run about 30 to 40 minutes. I placed a phone order, but when I arrived, I was told it would take a bit longer, so just something to keep in mind. The dining area is small and can fit about 10 people. There's plenty of parking, but it can get packed. The staff were friendly, which made it a pleasant experience!
I recently ordered catering items from SJ Eggrolls for a birthday party I was hosting, and it was sooo delicious! I ordered a tray of 20 nem nuong rolls and 40 pieces of their banh khot. Both items were so generous and actually fairly large! It also came with a side of their orange sauce for the rolls and fish sauce, veggies/herbs, and chilies on the side for guests who love spicy. Definitely larger portions and super affordable. We picked up the items 30 mins before our party started, and they were still fresh and crispy throughout the whole night! I was expecting the banh khot to get soggy/be soggy but it held up very nicely. I love the way they packaged everything and would 100% recommend for those who need easy finger food for their parties. Also ordering from them was very easy. I did it online a week in advance and they texted me at exactly 530p to let me know it was ready for pickup. Inside was a little small, considering it's mostly pickup and go, but loved how quick and easy everything was! read more

Place is simple yet nearly and nicely setup. 3 small tables if you liked to eat in. Service was good: he told me right. Way it would take about 18-20mins for 20 net egg rolls. So I patiently waited. Food came at that exact time. Cane sugar drink was good. Passion fruit drink was ok. Easy parking, right outside. Will come again. read more

Review strictly regarding the eggrolls. Eggrolls are good. The crunch factor stays consistent even hours after purchase. Filling is good, though I am naturally a fan of taro. Ingredients are fresh but could I say SJ Eggrolls are better than King Eggroll??? Not exactly. It's kind of like comparing apples to oranges. Yes, they are all eggrolls but the fillings are polar opposites and one place provides sweet n sour sauce [bomb af might I add] vs the other offering nuoc mam. I had the pleasure of trying both the regular and the netted version. The regular can be eaten as is but the netted version contains a thick outer casing that requires some kind of sauce to avoid it from coming off bland IMO. Still a solid spot for those who enjoy taro filled eggrolls but it may not be for everyone. read more

Although I'm a diehard King Eggroll girl (raised in Berryessa, that's why), i'm always down to sample contenders. Love that the egg rolls here are fried to order and that they offer one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes, banh khot. Both came with generous amounts of veggies, pickled veggies, and nuac cham, all thoughtfully, beautifully packaged. The banh khot are light with crispy edges (some of the best I've had) and the eggrolls feature traditional filling with pork and taro. I ordered both regular and net egg rolls; both were perfectly fried without being greasy. Definitely give them a try and let me know what other eggroll spots. I should be checking out! read more
I've been their customer pre-store front! Their net eggroll so unique and delicious!!It's been quite a while since I've ordered, but this time, at their store and only ordered noodles. The online process was super easy. We got garlic noodles for Super Bowl and decided to do an early pickup. Communication was great via text. Received a message order was started and received a follow up text that it was ready, exactly the time I scheduled. Luckily no one was there so parking was super easy, a quick in and out! As a returning customer the quality and service is always consistent at SJ Eggrolls. I've tried and will recommend the: -Sugar Cane Juice 5/5 -Viet Coffee: Egg & Ube 5/5 -Net Eggrolls, probably one of the only places in San Jose that does them so try them when you have a chance! 5/5 - Regular Eggrolls 5/5 - Banh Khot 5/5 - Goi Cuon, my favorite 5/5 - Nem Nuong, is comparable to Brodards in OC. The sauce is close enough in the Bay Area and a favorite of my partners. Their Nuoc Cham is also super good they don't skimp on the flavor! Such a new SJ gem to have read more
My husband and I aren't from the area but I remember seeing this video on Tiktok about this place. Decided to come check it out while we were in San Jose. Everything we ordered from the drinks, the garlic noodles and shrimp, banh khọt, egg rolls and the vermicelli bowl. I am very very very happy how good this place is! read more

Eat your veggies. What a delicious way to eat veggies( lettuce, cilantro, mint, pickled daikon and carrots) since it comes with an order of Banh Khot. These delightful, savory finger foods have a soft middle and crispy exterior edges. The center has a whole shrimp surrounded by green onions and an orange crumble shrimp topping. Dip your creation in the Viet fish sauce they give and your taste buds will love you. The friendly staff behind the counter greeted us immediately and offered us a menu even though there was a wall menu towering above them. They sell other packaged food items such as Pandan waffle cookies and shrimp chips at the counter (all made in-house) and Vietnamese yogurt in the fridge display. Everything I've eaten here has been delicious and fresh. I will be returning whenever I'm in the area. read more
First time trying SJ Eggrolls and I got a yummy takeout! Everything was delicious and super fresh. I got three of the Small Plates, which turned out to be way more food than I expected (in the best way!). The Banh Khot and eggrolls paired with the greens and fish sauce were perfect--crispy, refreshing, and flavorful. As for then chicken wing plate, the $2 garlic noodle upgrade was definitely the right choice! Even though I was just picking up my order, the customer service really STOOD OUT to me. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I also really enjoyed the cozy ambiance inside--holiday decorations and Christmas music playing for December. Been craving for banh khot for the longest time and finally a well worthy spot to get some. they are freshly made to order, crispy as it should be and are not small like the usual sizes you get at other places. you get 8 pieces of banh khot with some herbs and lettuce for a wrap. they also provide you with pickled carrots and daikon and nước chấm as well. all this roughly around $14. we also ordered their goi cuon (spring rolls) with shrimp and pork, which comes with their house dipping sauce. we ordered two sets of 5 spring rolls. which is about $15 pe set of 5. all delicious and will definitely be coming back again. the service here was pretty quick. When i just barely ordered my food, the wait time wasn't bad. it took about 15 minutes. service was very friendly and they made it very inviting to come in. the place was pretty neat and clean. it is located near where Sprouts market is, but in the back end near Little Ceasar's pizza. Also, you can order online and pick up as well if you don't want to wait. Most of the food you can order in party trays as well, but they also have small plates. read more

I've been wanting to try SJ eggrolls for a very long time. Ordered , nem nuong, banh khot, and egg rolls. Everything was delicious, even the pairing with the fish sauce and vegetables were fresh and clean. The fish sauce tasted like my mom's homemade fish sauce. My Vietnamese Mom definitely approves SJ eggrolls and even went back and ordered a few more things for my dad a week later. Thank you for having this spot in ESSJ and I'll be back for their catering trays for my next gathering. read more

5-stars for the pork and shrimp eggrolls: Specialty: Chả Giò (egg rolls) and Chả Giò Rế (netted egg rolls). I love a good eggroll and first time having a woven-rice noodle (Bánh hỏi") used as a wrapper with pork and shrimp filling, deep fried and served with lettuce and Đồ Chua (Vietnamese pickled, shredded carrots and daikon). Chả Giò Rế (netted egg rolls) were extra crispy and a sharp contrast to the soft filling and travelled well after 40-min traffic to devour at home. I also tried the pork vermicelli bowl and was okay....ill definitely stick their specialty of Vietnamese egg rolls! Highly recommend and will return to try other menu items like the fried chicken, nem spring rolls (grilled, sweet pork sausage) but the draw for me are those netted-deep fried egg rolls Service friendly, with a few tables for dining but set up for take out. read more

I don't know if the guy who works in the front is the owner (should of got his name) but he is AMAZING! Great customer service: Polite, professional, and happy, you don't get that these days especially in the bay area. On to the food. Banh Khot: , Crispy, hot and fried to perfection. Netted eggrolls: so good. It's the first time having eggrolls with this texture, went well with the vegetables and fish sauce. Garlic noodles, my daughter was full but kept saying one more bite. "If you ain't got all the time in the world..." -Nước Mama SJ Eggrolls. Because who has time to finely chop everything, meticulously wrap the chả giò (egg rolls), then batch-fry them? I can barely boil water without burning myself. During the pandemic, SJ Eggrolls started as a home-based catering business and opened their first brick and mortar in October 2024. They've been on my list to go to but it's hard to make it there on the weekdays to avoid the long wait on the weekends. I'm glad I finally made it there be after visiting the Hello Kitty Café at VF because these are the best chả giò I've tried in the bay! I think Nước Mama would approve. Open for takeout and limited dine-in (5 tables). M E N U * Specialty: Chả Giò (egg rolls) and Chả Giò Rế (netted egg rolls) They also have spring rolls, bánh khọt (mini savory pancakes), chicken wings, rice + noodle bowls, and drinks (tea, coffee, sugarcane, etc). Party trays available. Everything is made to order so expect a wait. With no line on a weekday, we were quoted 10 minutes but it took closer to 20 minutes. You can order ahead of time online but need to call for a party tray. Generously filled with savory pork, fresh shrimp morsels, sweet carrots, and nutty taro. The best rendition I've tried to date. The regular chả giò was solid. Same filling but with the usual smooth egg roll wrapper. They reheat nicely in the air fryer. Served with a side of lettuce, herbs, and đồ chua (pickled veggies) for DIY wraps. The accompanying nước chấm was well balanced, punchy with good funk and kick of heat. * Nem Nướng Cuốn: Grilled Pork Spring Roll (5 pc-$15.95): https://tinyurl.com/2tty3e4j Rolled nice and tight with a bouncy slice of pork sausage, fresh lettuce, crisp cucumber, scallion, and crunchy egg roll wrapper. Served with a ground pork and glutinous rice based orange sauce. Thick, congee like consistency. A bit sweeter than the norm. It was fine but the nem (pork sausage) could have been a bit thicker like what's pictured. We tried one on-site but the fried egg roll wrapper became soggy by the time I got back home to the city (2 hours later). Yes, we do offer pork only eggrolls but we recommend submitting a pre-order a week in advance so we can prep the pork only filling
