La Granja is my go to for a quick dinner and especially the ones with a drive thru. Surprisingly this is my first time at this location and it will be my last. I pulled up to place my order and the lady acknowledged I was there but when I placed my order she did not respond for 2-3 minutes so I called out for her to take my order. I Ordered a whole chicken with rice and beans which is my usual but I also ordered the garlic fish and shrimp. On the menu it says that seafood platters come with 2 sides so I proceed to order 2 sides and she tells me no. I have no time to argue so I pull around to the window and they take 10 minutes to come to the window. I again ask the woman why the menu says 2 sides and she calls someone else who confirms the 2 sides, but she still only gives me 1. I don't really need the second side but I have ordered this dish many times before with no issues and you should do right by the customer. So although the food may be okay I won't visit that location again because it left a bad taste in my mouth! read more

I visited this location since they're like 510 minutes away from my office for the first time after working several years around this area I decided to give them a try. The parking is a pain in the butt because of the drive-through is full and your parked and you need to get out you're stuck until somebody lets you in and you basically gotta do the line with a drive-through to get out Number one I ordered chicken with rice beans and potato. The rice and beans were good so was the potato the chicken and the other hand was overcooked and it looked like if it was done at 9 o'clock in the morning when I picked up my food was 3 o'clock. Food here is always sold and for the price can't beat it sometimes. And the fact they have so many options to pick from is also great. But me I keep it simple I either go with 1/4 chicken with beans and rice; or the 1/2 chicken with tostones and salad. Service is ok nothing to write home about. I've seen it good sometimes and I've seen it bad at other times. It's a hit or miss with the service. I do see that they try to keep the appearance up with the place. Since I discovered this place about a month ago it has become my new lunch obsession. I get the seafood gumbo at least once a week because it tastes delicious but also the portion is enough for two meals! My co-workers have gotten the shrimp and chicken and they love it too. I am a sauce person and their sauces are phenomenal, I just grab them and add them to my white rice - what joy! I saw some people complaining about cleanliness - this place is clean. There is always a guy that's literally standing by the door waiting to grab your tray from the table as you finish your meal. When he's not waiting to take your tray he is cleaning the sauce stand and nearby tables... Yes, there is a bit of a language barrier since most of the staff speak Spanish but they understand and they are extremely accommodating. Reasons for this is because I had a man approach me from behind asking for a quarter chicken with food in his mouth spitting all over my arm. I was completely dismayed! The lady then pulls up grouper fillets on her phone and shows them to me as if the fillets on her phone is what is in my to go container. This is the worst location in life it is filthy; it is disgusting; and I hope they get closed and ordered shut down. They have locations in North Miami Beach as well as Hallandale Beach and they're up to par but then they open this location in Miami Gardens and it's below sub par. I guess Miami Gardens according to this establishment doesn't deserve the same caliber as their other locations in "better" neighborhoods. The whole fried red snapper was extremely dry and had no flavor at all. I am so upset and unhappy that I even came here. I should've never ever came to this location. I should do a charge back. :::UPDATE::: I called Corporate this morning and spoke with Eric he told me that sometimes the distributors mess up and send the wrong fish & that indeed this location was serving SWAI as GROUPER!!! La Granja has come to be a nice little chain here in south Florida and while each location is so similar, there are a lot of differences to each as well. This free-standing building located on 441 in Miami Gardens is a nice spot for me for lunch as it is real close to my work. There are a lot of options in the area, but the speed and fresh taste is nice at La Granja. The location, while a nice dining room size, has minimal parking, when we got here there were not many people inside and the parking lot was almost full. Sure the employees have to park somewhere, but there should be ample room for the patrons. This is just bad lot planning, not blaming the chain. The service was nice and speedy. Our order was taken quick and without issues from myself who always makes a change to the norm and alters enough to confuse most staff members. The lunch was hot, fresh and tasty, and while my wife and I each had something similar, there was variety and each one of us enjoyed for our own reasons. On 3/11/2018 I purchased 2 different meals a #2 and a #6 both meals came with white rice and black beans. My sister in-laws started eating her food and felt something weird in her mouth. Thank God she did not swallow. She pulled whatever it was out of her mouth only to discover that it was a green bug that was in the black beans. I was so disgusted by it and I could only imagine how disgusted she felt as well. i returned back to the restaurant and asked for a supervisor, of course every employee refused to point out who the supervisor was once they were aware of the issue. I went there a few days ago. I've been to the location in miramar and I loved it so much that I decided to go back. The first time I went back I got the ribs and fries and the ribs were hard, like the meat had been cooked a while ago. Still I decided to give it a second chance, I went back and got the seafood rice and I almost threw up. There was hair in the condiments sections where they have pickled onions and salsa, and the outside was so smelly. Since I had already ordered the food I decided to try it, and it made me so nauseated. This location needs a big revamp, I will go to miramar from now on if I'm craving some seafood rice. Worst experience EVER from Sienna Negron This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a fast food. I ordered a fried mixed seafood platter. I got home and realized not only was the container light, it did not have shrimps. I called several times and got the voicemail. I drove back to the store and got there a few minutes after 9 PM. They were closed. One of the staffs let me in after I told her I had an issue with my order. I asked her for the manager and everyone looked like I asked to see a unicorn. After repeatedly asking for a manager, someone pointed to a young lady with her back turned to me counting cash out of the register. She asked me what was wrong. I asked her what the fried mixed seafood platter consist of. She gave me the list, which included shrimp. I opened the container and told her there is no shrimp in my order. They started speaking Spanish, then called a young man over. She asked him why he did not include the shrimp; he shrugged his shoulders and laughed. A few seconds later, we had an audience. Everyone looked perplexed and kept speaking Spanish. I told her I wanted a refund. That's when the cashier who took my order, Sienna Negron chimed in that I ordered a long time ago. I explained to the cashier my receipt was stamped at 8:41 PM. By this time It was about 15 past 9 PM. I explained I did not open the container until I got home. I called several times and no one picked up and I had to drive back. At this point Ms. Negron became extremely irate and extremely rude. She told me I should have checked the food in the drive through. Ms. Negron approached the situation like we were in the streets. Her hands were flying everywhere as she continued to yell at me for not checking my food before I left. The situation became very confrontational. I was floored that no one, not even the "manager" tried to calm Ms Negron down. I hope upper management reads this and implement some change.
