I came in specifically looking for an arepa de pabellon, but they happened to be out of pabellon on this weekday afternoon (slightly after the lunch hour), so I settled for a chicken lunch platter. We had the patacones of beef combo really good and tasty. Came with fries and different sauces. We had it with green plantain. It came with fries and a drink. Everything was so good and tasty the fries were a bit salty but overall the patacon was great. The service was nice they took our order in the front then we sat down to eat they brought it to us our meal. The place was nice relaxing with good music. The prices weren't bad for our meal. Have you ever had a craving that you must have that day. It's like a overwhelming feeling and you just must have it. Well that is what to me this day. I had to have arepas that is what my my mind wanted and my body just went for the ride. By the time I made it home I had eaten the fries and tequino. You know fries are fries but the tequino was good. Crispy on the outside and still really hot. I got home and when I opened that arepa, I was so excited that I didn't get the picture. That arepa for me at that moment was everything I ever wanted or needed. Where do I start... we ordered through a delivery app, after checking the status of the order it took them 30 minutes to give my order to the delivery lady. The poor girl at the counter had to do everything by herself: clean, take orders, charge, serve; while the lone cook had to keep up with the orders. It wasn't a specially busy day, but you could see they could have use an extra set of hands. They were doing all they could. The atrocious music was very loud (plus, why does a Venezuelan place only play Colombian vallenatos?) The cachapas were overly sweet and lacking in flavor. They came in cold and we had to ask them to please heat them up a little bit more. The empanadas' themselves were fine, but the shredded meat was also lacking in flavor. Both the sauce and the hot sauce were... not bad, but nothing to call home about either. The coffees felt burnt. The papelon con limon was the only thing on point. As for the locale... the restroom was filthy (yes, it is the customer's fault, but your duty as a food establishment is to clean it up). The cachapa is incredible and always consistent - a sweet corn "pancake" filled with a perfectly soft white cheese that has a mozzarella-like texture. The tequeños, or cheese-filled rolled dough is a great snack. I typically order them to have it later with coffee. In my opinion, the star of the show is the Patacon.
