Food was delicious. Great atmosphere. Yenny our server was fantastic! $5 mojitos for happy hour.

This place is in the heart of Little Havana where most food is catered to tourists, which usually means overpriced and under seasoned. However, this restaurant does a really good job of serving authentic Cuban food. The service was really good, despite us sitting outside in the patio. Are drinks were replenished quickly and they were very accommodating to all requests. My chicken sandwich was very filling and genuinely really tasty. The mojitos were also good and packed a punch.

Super friendly and helpful staff, in English or Spanish. Huge portions all at very reasonable prices!! The food was delicious, everything was super tasty and the lechon was one of the best things I've eaten in a a long time and I will be thinking about it for awhile. Also didn't snicker when I ordered double dessert

Inside, Saturday morning

While in Miami recently, I Yelped for the best Cuban breakfast place and this one had the top reviews. It wasn't crowded early on a Saturday so four of us sat inside and enjoyed traditional Cuban breakfasts and cafe con leche. Everything was pretty good: The food, service and seating area. One hiccup: I received a $20 off offer (of a $100 purchase) by checking into Yelp when I arrived. None of the staff was familiar with the offer even though there were Yelp stickers on their doors. I wasn't about to leave without getting the discount so I remained firm and they eventually relented after calling someone. I was then told, "You'd better give us a good review!" OK, here it is...

Part of a little Havana tour. Very good Cuban coffee. Empanada had a very nice crunch. Ground beef with potatoes on the inside. A lot of different sauce options depending how spicy you want it.

So we returned to Little Havana to grab some lunch. This wasn't our first choice, but the first choice was closed they day we were in the neighborhood. Cuban food. The server said "everything is good" when asked about the menu, which isn't very helpful. Not everything was explicitly Cuban, but he claimed it was "Cuban style". Also not very helpful. I ended up ordering the Bandeja El Cristo, and my wife ordered the Solomillo. Both were fine, but a little disappointing. The Solomillo was what appeared to be a stir-fry with a pile of rice/beans and a few slices of plantains. The flavor of the rice/beans was actually very nice. The "stir-fry" was nothing special. Meanwhile, my bandeja was a mixed bag. The tamale was almost all masa; very little filling. The rice was rice, the beans were black beans. Very basic, no seasoning. Then there were two cups with meat. Those were pretty good. I ended up mixing the rice and beans (which still wasn't as good as the rice/beans mix my wife was served), and the one meat with the tamale to make up for the fact there was almost no filling. The mango smoothie was all smoothie (i.e. creamy), and very little mango. My lemonade was better. All in all, a mixed bag of "pretty good" and "mediocre". And a bit pricey.

Best Cuban food I've ever had. The service was also phenomenal and everyone was friendly, plus the food came out quick. Would return again!

Authentic and Delicious Just got back from a Caribbean Celebrity Cruise and looking for a restaurant that serve homemade options. Someone referred this placed and it was absolutely yummy. The place is clean, cozy and the music was perfect. We had the Red Snapper Fish, Tostones, Yucca, Plátanos and Salad. I also ordered a Mojito. We left so happy. Jason the server was so cool, friendly and super helpful with any questions you have! Enjoy.

Ask the Community - El Cristo Restaurant

Are all menu items halal?

The restaurant is called El Cristo, what do you think? No, the answer is no. In fact, I'm sure none of the meat dishes are halal. They also serve alcohol, so there's that.

Today I went…read morewith my husband and son, and despite how incredibly busy the restaurant was, we had an excellent experience. My husband ordered the picadillo with rice and black beans, my son had the vaca frita with rice and black beans, and both enjoyed a side of tostones. I chose the rionada with congrí and sweet plantains. Overall, the food was delicious, flavorful, and satisfying. The only disappointment was the tostones. They were a bit bland and not as crispy as we prefer. Everything else, however, was excellent. The service was outstanding; friendly, attentive, and efficient, even with the restaurant packed. Every area was bustling, from the dining room to the bakery and takeout counters, yet everything seemed well organized. The restaurant itself was clean and very well maintained. To finish our meal, the three of us shared a flan, and it was absolutely delicious; the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. I have to admit, we were enjoying our conversation so much that I completely forgot to take pictures! That's probably a good sign that we were too busy enjoying the food and each other's company. Versailles remains one of Miami's iconic Cuban restaurants, and it's definitely a place worth visiting. We'll certainly be back.

We started with the grilled octopus, which was absolutely outstanding and one of our favorite dishes of the night. I also ordered their take on a Moscow Mule, and it was refreshing, well-balanced, and delicious. For the main course, we shared two of the specials--the red snapper and the meat platter. Both were excellent, and the portions were generous enough to comfortably feed our group of six. The atmosphere is what really makes this place special. The live Cuban music, energetic entertainment, and vibrant ambiance create such a fun and memorable experience. Our server was attentive, friendly, and helped make the evening even more enjoyable. A couple of things to know before you go: reservations are definitely recommended because the restaurant is very popular, and tables are limited to a two-hour seating. If you'd like to continue the night, you can always move over to the bar, which keeps the great energy going. If you're looking for authentic Cuban food, fantastic cocktails, and a lively night out, Café La Trova is absolutely worth visiting!
