Oh my God, get the soup. It is delicious. So good that I got some to go. I'm not sure what it's referred to as but it is filled with sweet potato, chicken and the broth is so rich, umami, thick and hearty. The cheese sticks I think they cirullos go marvelously with their hot sauce, which is definitely not too spicy and the shrimp with garlic cream. Mofongo is delicious. Everybody is super friendly and the menu is delicious. This is our second time and I see a third in my near future.

I love Mofongo (the Puerto Rican dish). I get it any chance I can find it because it's so delicious. Basically, for the uninitiated, Mofongo is mashed plantains (sweet, green/unripe, or mixed) with some meat. It's a Puerto Rican "casserole". This restaurant does a pretty good job. I liked it. But, alas, not quite as good as establishments in PR. Main downside is the price is a little high and service was average. My wife also had a mojito drink that she didn't enjoy at it. Note: They include the tip on your bill. Overall: decent option in Calle Ocho.

They just rubbed me the wrong way from the first second - $2 for the change - when im changing from arroz con gandules to white rice. The food was gressy and the music was really loud. Its a tourist trap.... won't be coming back.

Arrived to Mofongo's today after a recommendation and it didn't disappoint. Our server was excellent, ambiance was very similar as being in Puerto Rico. Loved their outfits, went extremely well with the theme and food was outstanding. While visiting Miami or when near Calle 8, it should be an official stop. Prices are definitely in the higher end but you're in Miami can't expect much. It was definitely a great experience.

Run don't walk! This place is delicious! Fast and friendly service as well. They also give you a little shot of coquito when they bring you the bill. Must goto spot on Calle ocho.

It was a really great presentation of plantains and seafood. The atmosphere was really fun. I enjoyed my Mofongo however, I feel like there was only three pieces of shrimp in it. We added lobster and payed extra for it. I would return for another dish. It's a fun neighborhood too. Our waiter was great and the sauce like we ate with the Mofongo was nice.

I had an amazing experience at Mofongo's! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a great meal. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt right at home. Mofongo Perfectly seasoned, with a crispy exterior and soft, flavorful inside. We also enjoyed the tostones and arroz con gandules, both cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. However the alcapurrias were a big let down. Different recipe from the original location.

The new Mofongo is absolutely amazing. Great vibe , good music and happy people. Staff were very welcoming and food was DELICIOUS as expected. Definitely will be returning. If i had one critique it would be to figure out a way to properly fry that chicharon on the Kan Kan without over cooking the pork chop. The chicharon was not crispy enough and still looked under cooked.

This was my first time here and I must say I LOVED IT ! The mofongo churrasco and shrimp were all on point and very delicious.

The food was phenomenal. Service was great. New restaurant looks great. Bigger and open concept is perfect.

Such a great selection of traditional Puerto Rican food. Portions are full and service is excellent. I really enjoyed the previous location but the newer is larger which I am happy they have grown and can serve more. Just wish the vibe was little warmer in art and color as previous. Great team tho

Food was delicious. Good prices on the happy hour menu served through out the restaurant not just at the bar. Service was attentive with several employees checking in on us not just our server. The ambiance is so much better than what is used to be at the old location. It's bright and airy and has a big screen tv with pictures of the beaches in PR. Also has an upstairs for additional seating. Came on a Friday evening and was able to get a table for two (before 6 pm). May get busier later on, tho. We enjoyed it very much and look forward to telling our friends about the updates!

Looking for this small restaurant I saw on Yelp on a rainy day. GPS tells me that I have arrived at…read moremy destination but I miss it. If it wasn't for a lone Puerto Rican flag by the door, I almost keep driving and dismiss it as if it was a false Yelp page. Thank God I did not! This little place is tiny, with a counter that sits about four people max and a small table for two. They specialize in takeouts mostly but we were able to snatch that little table for two. From the start, the lady at the counter was super nice and we immediately felt welcomed. We ordered an alcapurria, which for me is something I order to gauge the level of what to expect from our meals. Is it overcooked? Is it undercooked? Is it fried on burnt cooking oil or fresh? How a restaurant serves you an appetizer is very telling of their level of attention to detail. Luckily for us, this appetizer was perfectly cooked and it had a very well seasoned ground beef that was very flavorful. I, of course, ordered a Mofongo with fried pork chunks, which is one of my favorite all time meals while my wife went with her go-to chicken breast with salad and tostones. Both of our meals were very satisfying with a nice authentic Puerto Rican flavor. My mofongo was soft and moist with the nice flavor of green plantains. You would find the flavorful pieces of pork grind mixed in too, just like they make them back at the island. The pork chunks were flavorful but a little too hard and challenging to cut through with the plastic cutlery that we were given. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it way more with a good fork and knife in hand, but nevertheless, I can see myself ordering the exact same dish next time I buy dinner here again. My wife was very happy with her meal too. Overall, we will order to go next time, or for delivery. I am curious to see how this mofongo will travel. One thing I noticed is that they don't serve the mofongo with chicken broth on the side which would probably be a great idea to include, especially on a delivery. Plantains dry up so a side of this could revive it back to its full flavor. I'm very happy to have found this place and I recommend it.

We found that it was the 1st Puerto Rican restaurant established in Miami in 1974. So it's been around 52 years and survived covid shut downs. Says a lot about how much the community loves it too. The service was great. The server was able to easily answer any questions about the menu. The food came out from the kitchen quickly and we started to feast. We ordered the Beef Alcapurias(fried masa). It's was great. My spouse who doesn't eat a variety of foods tried it and absolutely loved it. My sister ordered theGrilled Pork with Aroz con Gondules & a Pastele. My spouse had the Aroz con Gondules. I ordered the Chicharones de Pollo & Aroz con Gondules(double side). The portions were generous and delicious. I was even able to order a Pastele to go and eat it later with one of my sides of rice. We couldn't believe how affordable the lunch was when the bill came. We were all pleasantly surprised with the experience. And highly recommend this establishment if you are looking for an authentic Puerto Rican meal. We can't wait to go back for more!

During live performances, one waitress would get up on stage and play instruments and at other times bartenders would join in. I was truly smiling from ear to ear all night. I drank delicious mojitos all night and even with a packed venue the drinks came out extremely fast! Although the restaurant was packed, our waitress remained extremely kind and attentive throughout the night. To me, the food was just good. We had the Jamón Serrano Croquetas to start. They were a little cold for my taste and not the best I've ever had but they weren't bad. My husband really loved his skirt steak ropa vieja and didn't leave a single grain of rice. I opted for the rabo encendido pasta. I like that they weren't skimpy on the rabo. The downside of this place is that to maximize space, you're packed in like sardines. The tables are basically on top of each other. A larger sized person would not fit getting in and out of their seat and my husband was constantly backing up into the people seated behind him. Overall, this is a place you definitely visit for the atmosphere above food. I will 100% be coming back for drinks, appetizers and more live music. It is an incredible spot especially for those looking for Cuban nostalgia.
