The most incredible charbroiled chicken breast with achiote season smothered in sweet sautéed onions

We have been going to this restaurant for 20 years and it never disappoints - wonderful service, great condiments in table añ- Chimi Chiri , pickled onions and a spicy relish - its Nicaraguan food and its sooo tasty! The best tostones and fried yucca I've ever had , the chicken and steaks are super tender and full of flavor - we recommend this place to everyone that asks "What's Good to eat on Calle Ocho 8th St " and they always return raving ! Try it once and you're hooked !!

I used to go to the original El Guayacán on Bird Road, and I loved it back then just as much as I love it now. This place has been a true staple for Nicaraguan food for years -- authentic flavors, generous portions, and that familiar warmth that makes you feel right at home. No matter how much time passes, they've kept the same quality and heart in every dish.

My new favorite Nicaraguan restaurant- GUAYACAN! Food- authentic through and through. Service- wonderfully attentive. Ambiance-intimate, instrumental oldies playing in the background. My absolute favorite dish- filet De Pescado en salsa "XILOA", grilled fish in a delicate house white cream sauce. It was Sea Bass.. amazing. I opted for gallo pinto(rice and beans) and tostones (fried plantains). Try it! For the table : Picada Guayacan - a little of everything sampler. Good for groups. His: Puntas De Fillet a La jalapena- tenderloin filet tips in a delicate jalapeño cream sauce. Appetizer: Coctel de conchas viegras (black mussles). Interesting, mixed in dark sauce, purple onions. Dessert: Buñulos- 2 fried cassava cakes with cheese. Its very sweet. Still thinking about that fish. Check this place out. Parking is limited, plan accordingly and make reservation.

Tried Nicaraguan food for the first time and this restaurant was fantastico! Great music playing for dinner, server is very nice and explained the dishes in the menu and the sauces in the table. Variety of plates available from poultry, beef and seafood options. The chimchurri and escabeche sauces were delicious! Enjoyed visiting this restaurant and can't wait to visit again when I'm back in Miami! Free Private parking lot available.

This place is a gem in calle 8 , delicious Nicaraguan food. Very good and tasty carne asada and churrasco, comes with two sides. I ordered from lunch menu the chicken, it came with salad or soup and 2 sides for 14.99 Highly recommended

Good little Nica restaurant on Calle ocho! I usually order from Guayacan on Uber eats so I decided to dine in. The staff was very friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. There was a good sized TV on with the NBA playoffs, which I appreciated. Inside was quiet and spotless. The food was really good, I've been to many Fritangas and this was among the best. I highly recommend it, I'm adding in Guayacan to my usual's list.

Best Nicaraguan food in Miami!!! The location is amazing (super hip part of town and so close to all the downtown nightlife) and the family who runs the Guayacan has been doing this for literally DECADES, and it shows! Everything is delicious. I literally dreamt about the Carne Asada after eating it. Tender but with a bite, delightfully seasoned with citrus, it will make your mouth water. It's also huge! It was big enough for two meals for me. Amazing bang for your buck here. The pescado/fish in the house cream sauce was absolutely delightfully as well!!! Mmmm I could rave about it for days. Tender and fall apart, with a delicious char from the grill, and a creamy yet light sauce. Seriously in love! The sides were also amazing. Rice and beans were moist and had a light seasoning that let the beans shine. If you love plantains, make sure to try the maduros for something sweet to round off a delicious meal :) Seriously, the Guayacan is the best Nicaraguan food in Miami...loved the welcoming family atmosphere and the delicious food!

Nicaraguan restaurant on Calle 8 with an incredible lunch menu deal. I ordered the pechuga de pollo encebollada (chicken with caramelized onion) which came with two sides and a soup or a salad, so really it's three sides... definitely worth your money. The salad was great. Even the regular menu items are worth it with the portion sizes. The fried cheese app was amazing and the taquitos were pretty tasty also. This was my first time trying Nica food and I was not disappointed. Honestly feels like you're eating a home cooked meal. Next time I'm getting the dessert for sure.

Great nica restaurant located in little havana. I start off with the 5 stars because unlike many of the restaurants in this area they actually have their own parking lot. Although the lot is not very large it at least gives you some option of parking without having to pay or search in this area. I came here for dinner with friends and was ok leasabtly surprised. There were only a couple of people in the restaurant but I was greeted as soon as I walked in. As I sat down they asked me what I wanted to drink. Went for some wine with the Malbec they had. Delicious. I decided to go big or go home and got the tipitapi fried fish. The fish came out whole, deep fried and soaked in a tomato based sauce. It was divine! I hadn't had fish like this in a while and it was so good. I also got to try their queso frito also delicious and mariquitas. If you are in the area great place to have lunch or dinner when in the mood for nica goodness!

Worse place I have ever gone to. Let me start... - steak was so fried, not grilled, that it did not had any taste. Which cost $22.95. - Mariquinas, or fried plantains were so fried that it seems they were expired. Which cost $ 8.99. - Gallo pinto (rice and beans mixed) had too much oil. Which - Prices were ridiculous, too expensive for the marketing quality they intend to deliver. - and to top it off... I got food sick. My recommendation... not worth going ever. --------- El peor lugar al que he hido a comer. Dejenme comenzar...

Listen here, I've been coming to this restaurant ever since I was a little girl. I no longer live in Miami but I come here whenever I visit my family. It's a family restaurant- it's had the same owners since for forever. The food is amazing! They've maintained the quality of food through out the years.

We started with melon and dragonfruit drinks which were like aguas frescas. For starters we tried the Taquitos and Chancho con Yucca and they were excellent. The pork tenderloin chunks in the Chancho were done well and had a tasty coating of spices. We loved the chopped cabbage. We also liked the pulled beef in the Taquitos. The fried beans were creamy and delicious. In fact, everything on our plates was delicious! For mains, we had the Fajitas de Carne and Lengua en Salsa. Both were very good. I haven't had a tamale in a while so I decided to try the Indio Maiz; the sweet corn was good as was the sour cream and soft cheese. Yum. I really enjoyed Maranos. I may have been the only gringo in the place :).

The portions were good in comparison to Los Ranchos and the steak was extremely flavorful and soft. They also have a selection of sauces for the steak or your meal. The service was great. Our only complaint was that they served canned beverages. If you are somebody that drinks a lot of soda, the bill can quickly get expensive. We love Nicaraguan food and frequently dine at other places but this restaurant by far is the best. The wait can be long on the weekends with larger parties so just be aware of that.

This particular trip was special because I took my hubby with my group of college friends and we sat in the restaurant. I had no clue the inside decor was western themed, and it was equal parts random and perfect for the chaos outside in the take out area. Most people seem to go the take out option from the cafeteria window, surrounded by coin operated games and gumball machines. They have a huge menu but the carne asada is the best thing on the menu hands down. Service is quick, but like most dive places in Miami, you're not in it for the chatty waitresses, just the sitting and taking up space over beers for 3 hours with your buds.

Instead I ordered a carne asada which is just steak, as well as rice and fried cheese. The entire plate was $20, which is great for the amount of food you get. I also ordered a cacao which is like a chocolate milk made with real cacao. The only downside was how long it took to get my drink, you have to go to a separate window to order drinks or dessert. There was 2 people in front of me and it took an extended amount of time to get just 1 drink and a sweet treat. It was obviously worth it but a bit inconvenient. Anyways, you should definitely check this spot out for authentic Nicaraguan cuisine.
