I stopped by Rincon Nica a few days back when my car was in a nearby auto shop (ah, the joys as cars as get older.) My mobility was limited, and needed some sustenance within walking distance and you can never go wrong with pollo a la plancha and moros. Tucked away in a strip mall on West 16th Avenue, Rincon Nica doubles as a lounge / club (based on what my waitress mentioned). That was actually the extent of my interaction, as she spent most of her time chatting with a friend (coworker?) who had stopped by. I ordered my usual pollo a la plancha (grilled chicken). The taste was pretty good, but the portion was a little on the small side. The beans and rice was gallo pinto (red beans and rice) rather than the black beans of cuban places. The sweet plantains had the right amount of sweetness and crisp. Instead of flan, they had a tres leches with plenty of meringue, a cherry and fluffy texture. In addition to a sit down meal, they also sell sodas and other food products from Nicaragua. Ican probably see myself giving it a higher rating if I come by in the weekend for their nightclub scene. read more

Super expensive for food that doesn't taste good at all. I ordered the seafood soup and it was horrible, the tortillas so stale and the rice super hard. I paid for 3 soup with 3 drinks $80 NEVER AGAIN. read more

The lady who served me at the bar was so angry when I asked for a tostada. She said the machine was off so it was going to take a long time and I said it was okay. She got so upset she rolled her eyes and started to name everything else that they have. IF YOURE MISERABLE, STAY HOME. LOL. read more

One of the best restaurants in the area with traditional Nicaraguan food. An ample menu from small traditional dishes to main course entrees. The restaurant is family friendly. Perfect for large parties. Live music and karaoke at times. Parking is no issue, ample parking lot. The service is excellent. The food is exquisite. Would definitely back! Two thumbs up! read more

Stop by here a few days ago on a whim, wanting to try something new. The parking is quite small. I found out it's a restaurant/ lounge spot with live music. Food was delicious it took quite a bit but it was worth it in the end. The staff is okay, they're not rude but not the most friendly. This place gets one star because the food was decent. I went to this place 3 times because I really thought I should give it a chance but.... Service is slow, the waitress/ owner made us wait 30 minutes each time before taking our order. Waited on 2 other tables before us and we were there first. Went there with a client and the music level was so loud that we couldn't have a decent conversation. Definitely not a wine place, they only serve wine by the individual bottle and only one brand. Ok so we found this location by Yelp restaurant finder. Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. I read a review that said loud music and slow service, I agree. Slow service because there was only one person waiting on everyone. Nice environment and polite. But too loud! We took our food to go. I ordered the cerdo asado which was great in taste but too much fat to it so I fed it to my husband lol. He ordered the carne asada and he said it was ok. He prefers we continue to order from la fritanga which I agree. Cannot compare! But overall it's ok! read more

This place has great Nicaraguan food. Parking is very tight, so you might need to park on a small patch of grass on the 37th St. or across the street by the bank. Either way it is totally worth it! They are open late & although they have smaller portions than a fritanga they have amazing super soft carne Asada. It's always tender no matt r what. They also have very reasonable prices & have really good quesillos read more

If I could write a 0 star I would. We've been coming here for years, mostly for my husband, and it seemed that every time the food would get worse and the price will get more expensive. This last time is absolutely had it. I ordered two orders of just meat and two fried cheese. Meat and cheese no rice no salad no anything else the total was 20 bucks! This place is a sit down restaurant and not a fritanga like I thought. Ordered a carne asada con queso frito. The portions are pretty small and it was barely ok. The ensalada (salad) was really dry and had lettuce in it which is odd because nica salads don't have lettuce in them. Also, while waiting for my food I heard a waitress ask if a customer wanted white rice or MORRO which completely killed the authenticity for me. I'm nica so it matters. The portions are small for the price. I'm used to going to El Yambo and having a complete fully stacked inside the container. The food is ok! Not like my moms or back home in Nica but it's decent. There is Spanish karaoke which is funny to witness people ATTEMPT to sing classics. read more

The food here is amazing, the tacos are to die for. I come here with my family on Sundays we all enjoy the great food. Just during the week at night the music there is very loud and well i know they have karaoke but need to lower a bit just way to loud, but when you order take out its no problem food is ready in the time frame they tell me so the pros outweigh the few cons so definitely I recommend this Nicaraguan place :) read more

Definitely the best tasting Nica food I've had in years. I went with my parents seeking a better experience than the fast food "Fritanga". They made the food to order, they didn't just have it lying there for hours like other spots. I ordered carne asada. The quality of the meat was exceptional and everything tasted fresh. This place is the worst of its kind. I went with a few friends for the first time and we were not happy to notice a couple of roaches roaming around after we ate our food.
