    "baby" Churrasco

It had been years since my last visit to El Novillo, and it was just as good as I remembered. The food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. I started with the fried cheese and house salad, then had the baby churrasco with gallo pinto and plantain chips. The meat was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Overall, a great experience and I definitely recommend!

Celebrating a family's birthday with great Nicaraguan cuisine. El Novillo is a staple in Miami. Having moved to the Melbourne area a few years ago, we have not been able to find Nicaraguan cuisine so the only time we are able to its when we visit our family in Miami. This time I ordered the Fried Cheese with salad(made with carrots and cole slaw). I ordered Vigoron which is an appetizer with chicharron, boiled yuca and cole slaw. For my entree I ordered the baby churrasco with gallo pinto and maduros. And to finish off my meal, I ordered a coconut flan. What can I say, the food was so tasty and flavorful.

Came here with a party that wasn't super big, but honestly, the prices of most of their food is a little bit high for what you can get at any other restaurant. It was really weird to me that they Served the rice and beans separately and unfortunately, my waiter ended up dropping rice and beans on my lap because he couldn't really reach me. I wish they would just put it on the plate when they serve you. Also, why is the side of maduros is only two per plate. All of the employees there were nice, but overall it's just expensive for almost no reason. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did really like the live music and it definitely had an interesting atmosphere of being in a town Square almost.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food just didn't impress me that much and that's the point of a restaurant.

Everything was great from the service to the food. We were a party of about 25 people, celebrating a rehearsal dinner. We started off with some cocktails and appetizers. The food came out pretty fast, and was very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is nice here, there is a huge fountain in the middle of the restaurant which looks very beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat along the side of the restaurant by the bar since we were such a big party. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone had a wonderful time, the Dj was very good and played a bunch of requested songs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our servers were all wonderful. When the espresso martini wasn't so great, our server brought us some Baileys and that made it much better. The dessert was the only thing I wasn't crazy about. The flan was okay, it was very basic. Overall, I would recommend you check this authentic Nicaraguan spot out.

A great Nicaraguan restaurant with a vast variety of food in its menu. There is a lot to choose; however, I'd recommend either churrasco or whole rosted chicken. Still the rest is good. There's also seafood options and many cocktails to enjoy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is so nice, feels like in a small colonial town from Nicaragua.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is really nice and very knowledgeable of the menu. Plenty of free parking in the plaza.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I really love this place. It has a nice romantic feel with a generous vacation vibe. The decor is terrace- garden inspired.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is also terrific. It's like these servers were born to do this; they don't walk around tables, they glide and twist and twirl with heavy trays full of yummy gallo pinto ( rice and brown or red beans), plátanos maduros and mariquitas. Their baby churrasco is usually very good but today mine was a little overdone. It was still tasty. Side salad is refreshing and comes dressed. Delicious unlimited breadbasket is my dream come true. I can't get enough bread in my life. And this one is nice and garlicky. If you visit, get the mixed appetizer platter. It has a few taquitos, chorizo, fried cheese and other assorted delicacies. A medium for 4 is plenty. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant. Oh! And I was pleasantly surprised that it was packed on a Saturday night at 7. Always a good sign. However, we did have reservations so we didn't wait long.

What a great day to leave a 5 star review!!!! I came to El Novillo for a private mini party we did for my sisters baptism. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They sat us in a smaller area for about 20 people and it was semi private where no one from the public could come in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were served with a few trays of appetizers which was a hit. It came with fried cheese, yuca, different types of meats, etc!! (Not pictured because it was THAT good). We then had salad & bread as an appetizer. We proceed to have gallo pinto, platanito maduros, & plantain chips as a side to our set menu. We had options to choose from churrasco, churrasco de pollo and two other meats which was amazing for those who like a variety meal. Overall the chicken was delicious and the rice was phenomenal. We ended the meal with tres leches which was very fresh. Those who had steak, definitely ate their entire plate as well. I will definitely be coming here again due to the service being beyond amazing.

The food was soo delicious. I was slightly confused on how they serve. But we were a big party so I finally got the idea when they got to me. You pretty much order your protein they bring it on a plate and then another person comes around with the sides and they serve how ever much you want. Neat concept. As a party of ten the servers did a great job of managing their time and bringing out food hot when served. Highly recommend this spot in Miami lakes.

We had called a week before and made the reservations for a party of 26 people. Upon arrival we were seated right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a closed off room for everyone which was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was only one server which had me concerned at first but this man was nonstop. He was so attentive and on top of everything. Truly excellent service. The food was great and the portions are enough for leftovers. The appetizer was my favorite dish with a little bit of everything. I would definitely come back.

I'm Nicaraguan and I rather come here to eat than going to a fritanga. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Hands down the prices are there and you get to sit and enjoy ur dinner with a nice ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The chicken churrasco with shrimp was delicious. Accompanied with gallo pinto, maduros and tajadas. So good !

An authentic Nicaraguan restaurant. The food was so delicious and full of garlic (My favorite). The service was super quick with the appetizers and drinks and very efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It truly felt very authentic and there was fun music playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Churrasco was absolutely delicious and I ended up putting the chimichurri sauce on absolutely everything. Will be coming back for sure!

I see on their menu they offer a Mushroom Churrasco? No photos or reviews on the Mushroom Churrasco and wonder how this tastes. I've had Chicken Churrascos before and those are pretty good.

So anyways, let's talk about their food. I'll just say it's delicious, nothing fancy. I'll recommend the steak we ordered. We both ordered a steak and a wine which was very affordable and delicious. Our kids only ate 1portion of burger and fries because I know they can't finish it because the portion of their burger and fries were so big. The food here is very affordable, they are very tasty, very clean place and large portions. If ever you want to visit here, you should make a reservation in advance because thre are too many people who come here and there's a chance that there won't be any seats available by the time you arrive. Alright, where to start here...everything was absolutely excellent!…read more Parker rolls (3.5/5): going to start with the weakest link. Yes these are viral, no they are not mind blowing. Deliciously fluffy and great with butter but they are still just dinner rolls. Hokkaido scallops (5/5): honestly one of the best bites of food I've had in years. The sweetness of the scallops, slight spice from the sauce, and balanced with pickled ginger...perfection. No words after bite 1, near tears after bite 2. Agnolotti (5/5): get this. The corn, crab, sauce...everything about this worked. This is like a healthy work environment where everyone lifts each other up. You'll get the sweet, the chew, the softness, the salty. Just get it. 26 oz ribeye (4.5/5) with peppercorn sauce (4/5) and bone marrow vinaigrette (5/5): okay so this dish was our main and it did not disappoint. You can definitely taste the beefiness from the dry aging and that alone was enough. With the peppercorn sauce it was great. BUT with the bone marrow vinaigrette, that took this steak from "really good" to life changing experience. Kouign amann ice cream sandwich (5/5): if you've never had a kouign amann, it's like if a croissant and a cake had a baby. Add in some ice cream and this dessert would've had to choke me to death on the way down to not get a 5/5. I'm alive and arguably more than ever after eating this platonic concept of dessert perfection. Get this! The restaurant was beautiful, interior looks like an NYC steakhouse while the exterior outdoor seating is very Miami. The service was some of the best I've ever had. Every server was knowledgeable, friendly, and you felt like they all really enjoy being here. Overall, if you're in Miami, you have to come here. World Cup traffic had us running 30 minutes late for our reservation, but huge props to the host for seating us on a packed night. They gave us a 90 minute limit, which worked out great for our flight timeline. We were seated outside at a tiny 2 top table (maybe it's a Miami thing). While the courtyard setup is really pretty, the tables are squished so close together. When you order as much food as we do, it's a tight squeeze and feels a bit uncomfortable (and risky for dropping dishes!). Plus, Florida heat + the abundance of flies they had outdoors is a thing. Our waitress Vanessa made sure we got all of our dishes quickly so we could make our flight. Food we ordered that are a must: Parker House Rolls (that honey butter dip is addicting), Caesar Salad, Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, and the Blue Crab Agnolotti (my absolute favorite dish of the night). Paired it with the Circus Permit cocktail which was super fun. Food that I would skip: Sent back the duck terrine. The duck steak fell flat despite all the hype, and the yellowedge grouper was covered in way too many leeks for my taste. All in all, a solid 7/10 vibe with a friendly bar up front. I'd drop in for drinks and a few specific plates, but it's not an absolute must repeat for me next time I'm in Miami.

From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable--attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. You can immediately tell this is a place that takes hospitality seriously. We started with the beef carpaccio, which was beautifully presented and delicately seasoned--light, flavorful, and the perfect way to begin the meal. The wedge salad followed, crisp and refreshing with just the right balance of richness and acidity. For the mains, the experience really elevated. I had the tomahawk steak, and it was outstanding--perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and easily one of the better steaks I've had in Miami. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli, and this dish deserves special mention: it wasn't just ravioli with a hint of lobster--it actually featured generous, large pieces of lobster, which made it feel both indulgent and well worth ordering. The ambiance strikes a great balance between upscale and lively, making it ideal for both a special occasion or an elevated night out in Brickell. Now, to be clear--prices are definitely on the higher side. But in this case, you truly get what you pay for. Between the quality of the food, the execution, and the level of service, it feels justified. Bottom line...If you're willing to splurge for a memorable steakhouse experience, Dirty French Steakhouse is absolutely worth it. We'll definitely be back.

Service was warm and friendly overall but not always as attentive. Small lapses stood out (most notably, red wine being poured into my champagne glass) but those things happen and were apologized. Food-wise, everything we ordered was good but some dishes felt overpriced for what they were. The beef carpaccio,l was overwhelmed by oil which dulled the delicacy of the meat. The wedge salad was similarly heavy-handed: fully tossed and drenched in dressing losing the crisp that makes a wedge shine. That said, the filet mignon was excellent: well-cooked, properly seasoned, and easily the standout of the meal. It was the dish that felt most worth its price. Overall, Miami's Dirty French is a great choice for a sexy steakhouse night out with a lively atmosphere and solid food.
