La Cabrera in Coconut Grove started out with good service but this went dwindling due to more tables filling up and not enough servers to attend to them. Food was good and everyone in our party enjoyed their dishes, I have to admit I missed the complimentary tasters provided by the chef at the restaurant in the Midtown location, there the attention was excellent. The restaurant ambiance is nice, it' feels quaint in comparison to the one located in Midtown. Overall it' was a nice experience but could have been improved if we had had better service.

Checked out their Miami spice lunch menu, which is definitely worth it. The service is great and the food is brought out pretty quickly. They have a great variety of options on their menu, allowing you to try different items for a reasonable price. I really enjoyed their steak. The inside is also decorated well. I'd highly recommend checking this place out and will likely be back.

I had seen La Cabrera open up in the Grove and on Friday I went with my dad to try it. This is a restaurant from Buenos Aires and they specialize in grilled meats. Yum. The complimentary bread is delish with olives and a salsa de tomate. There is also a complimentary appetizer that has different dips, which I did not care for. We started with the morcilla and chorizo and also got a 14 oz NY strip and an arugula salad. The salad didn't come with dressing, which I thought was odd, but they do have olive oil and vinegar on the table so that worked perfect for a simple salad. We had also ordered the penne with pesto cream sauce. This was my least favorite dish of the night as it was pretty flavorless. I'm thinking this is a spot to indulge more on quality meats and traditional steakhouse sides versus the pasta. While I did not have a drink, I did see they have a full bar and extensive wine list. This is definitely a spot to go for the meats, as the NY Strip was really great. For such large portions of meat, prices are really reasonable. Will definitely be back to try more things from the menu. They also offer happy hour daily from 11:30 - 6 pm which is great. The host in the front let me know happy hour was half off all drinks and wines by the glass, so catch me there soon!

Amazing drinks, food, and good vibes! - A woman with curly hair and earrings is smiling at the camera while holding a cocktail garnished with mint leaves in a restaurant setting.

I love La Cabrera! The drinks are always on point, the service is always fantastic, and the food tastes incredible! Highly recommend their Rib Eye and Mac & Cheese. The meat literally melts in your mouth and the Mac & Cheese has a nice crispy layer on top that is delicious. This restaurant is super nice inside. Great for dates, celebrations, or just to treat yourself to a nice meal. Gracias Ayrton por tu hospitalidad (:

Milanesa! Top! Is good for two people

Came for the first time to celebrate my husband's birthday and it didn't disappoint! Very good service, we were attended by Ari, she was really attentive and gave us excellent service, food was very flavorful and quality and quantity just perfect! Love the decor of the place, very cozy. Will definitely come back again!

Excellent service. Dining room overlooks the grill and Josper oven, seating perhaps 150 people. We visited on a Sunday, most customers were families with children, with the occasional couple. Very tasteful decor. Local outlet of celebrated Buenos Aires steakhouse. Prices are somewhat less expensive than other comparable Argentinian restaurants in the city, which matched to its pedigree makes for a very compelling value proposition.

To be honest I'm not sure how I feel about it... I've been used to eating Argentinian food and their menu was a bit different for me and my guest. They do have a nice selection of wines, and very good service. The ambience was very cute, more of an updated version of a small meat market/restaurant. Not bad, but I don't have enough to really rate it anything other than 5 stars for now.

I usually take pictures before digging in, but this dinner was so amazing--and the ambiance so pleasant--that I didn't even realize I hadn't taken any good quality shots! We celebrated Valentine's Day at La Cabrera, and the ambiance was absolutely on point--romantic, with perfect lighting that set the mood beautifully. My husband ordered the NY strip, and I had the flap steak, both cooked to perfection at medium rare. For our sides, we had the Caesar salad, mac & cheese and steamed broccoli--everything was delicious. Definitely recommend La Cabrera for a fantastic dining experience!

This the best Latin American steak house in South America and it finally landed in the Gables-Grove area. I first heard of La Cabrera in Malaga. The Malaga location is yards from the main Cathedral. Like it's Grove brethren it is known for its shareable plates and lollipops at the end. Reservations were easy to come by and the hostess sat us down. As of the time of this writing they didn't have a full liquor license so were comping Malbec! May they never get that license! So good was the Malbec we ordered seconds. They give you complementary bread and some olives. We ordered the Provoleta and it did not disappoint. You could taste the smokiness and the gauchos roasting it on the plains of Argentina over coals in their cast iron skillets. We ordered a 14oz filet and had them split it in half. The entree was served with a side of broccoli and mash. We were unable to even touch the mash; the portions were that generous. My only quibble is that the filet was medium rare when we asked for medium. We sent it back and it came out medium well. A star is docked. The waiter and manager were both incredibly engaging. I believe that unlike the other places that have come and gone in this former Masonic lodge, this one may prove the one that stays the course.

They sell bottles of wine, imported olive oils, lots of (mostly European) wines by the glass, and light bites like charcuterie, small pizzas and popcorn. We've come here a few times, our dog was welcome, staff were friendly and outgoing, offering us various tabletop games like tic-tac-toe to pass the time, and once we'd both ordered a few glasses of wine, they offered us complimentary popcorn - something they normally charge for. Wines on their "by the glass" menu average about $16 each, and most staff pour them behind the bar where they have a gauge to measure out each one. The food prep area behind the bar is quite small (which is why they don't have a large menu), but so is this little gem of a wine spot in general. It's cozy, eclectic and great for a glass of wine and a small snack, or a nightcap after having dinner elsewhere. It's good for singles at the bar, or an intimate spot for couples and smaller groups. Vinoteca seems to have found their niche, and they've filled it quite nicely. That said, I'm not sure the staff, at least the ones working on the nights we've come, have a lot of knowledge about wines or are in the position to talk at length about their various selections.

The first location in the River is better imo because the location is bigger, there is plenty more seating than the Grove location. Although, I still enjoyed my time at this location as well. Sooo how it works is that you go inside and pick a bottle of wine from the fridges. You can also order by the glass if you aren't a big drinker or if you want to try different wines. The bottles are moderately priced depending on your selection. We chose an orange wine and it was nice, very refreshing, you can really get that citrus essence with every sip. Another thing that they have is that you can pick different cheeses and meats and they will build you a charcuterie board. I love this because it is all based on your selection, nothing will go to waste. They also have food you can order. A lot of people love the nuggets with caviar. I think they are decent imo but I'm not like in love with them. Parking can be a bit annoying... If there isn't street parking, you can also park in the garage. The service was good, the staff was friendly. The only thing that was a hassle was getting a table. We had to wait a bit in order for a table to become available. Overall, this spot is a very cozy place to hang and mingle with friends.

As others have stated, Magie is good in concept and we'll likely return here, but with just a bit…read moremore effort on their part this wine bar could be so much better IMO. Unlike some other reviewers that scoffed at the prices of the wine, that didn't bother me so much. We had a bottle here that cost $55 and it retails for about $28; I was OK with that, as all restaurants and wine bars have a markup above retail, and even when you go to spots like Happy Wine or El Carajo and pick out a bottle to drink while in their shop, they charge a corkage fee for that. What I did have a problem with is that, after the "service charge" and other fees were added on, our $55 bottle rang up to more than $73 in total, which was ludicrous. When we first arrived at Magie we were met by a young guy who pointed out the bottles and where the various charcuterie items are located in the coolers, and we were then pretty much left on our own. We really just wanted a glass of wine each, but unlike places like Vinoteca, here at Magie they had a very limited selection of wines by the glass, and the ones available all seemed to come in single-serve cans. We picked out a bottle to share, went to the register, paid and the guy opened it and handed us 2 glasses. When I returned to get napkins, the guy just motioned to where the napkins were so I could grab my own (after moving a delivery cart out of the way by myself so I could reach them). Again, though this place includes an automatic "service charge", we received zero actual "service" unless one considers the 45 seconds it takes to uncork our bottle and charge us for the purchase. We had a seat, had a glass of wine each and then re-corked our bottle of wine and took it with us. Overall I think Magie is a great concept with lots of potential. The inside seating area is interestingly decorated and outfitted with lots of eclectic furniture and items on the walls, and the relatively large patio seating out front with tables for 2 to 8 people is shielded from the adjacent street/traffic and shaded by lots of trees and greenery. The ambiance overall is really very nice. The service, however, was non-existent, especially considering the automatic charge for that, and while prices of at least some wines aren't terribly out of line, the fact that all the service charges, taxes and fees added $20 to the cost of our bottle was a bit of a shocker. Magie should consider adding more wines by the glass IMO. Not just subpar quality single-serve cans, but decent wines, poured from a proper bottle with a topper that preserves the wine between pours like most every quality wine bar commonly offers. Lastly, while I don't think anyone expects linen napkins and white glove service, the paper plates and plastic cutlery customers are given to eat with are a bit off vs. what this place appears to be trying to be and the prices charged. The "F*ck Brunch" positioning statement on the back of the staffs' shirts was an interesting touch.

As soon as we sat down, I politely asked if we could be moved. The manager then told me that I had booked bar seating, which is simply not true. Why would anyone reserve bar seating a month in advance for Valentine's Day? I checked my reservation confirmation myself and it never stated that, and I even tried making another reservation to verify ..bar seating wasn't even an option. He told us he would "see what he could do," and we were left waiting at the bar with no water, no menus, no service, and no communication whatsoever. Meanwhile, we watched multiple couples get seated at proper tables back-to-back. At one point, we even overheard another couple say their reservation was at the same time as ours, and they were seated at a table immediately. When I tried to politely ask for an update, the manager or owner completely ignored me. No acknowledgment, no apology, nothing. I was honestly in shock at how disrespectful and dismissive they were. We ended up getting up and leaving because of how uncomfortable and disrespected we felt. Valentine's Day is supposed to be special, and this restaurant completely ruined that experience.

I'll put this place up against the best NYC Spanish restaurant, any day. I started with a glass of Red Sangria and it was SO GOOD! Served with lots of fruit, this drink was smooth and I had to remind Esteban, our fine Server, to not remove my fork, so I can enjoy the sangria smothered fruit, afterwards. We started with Ham Croquettes and Meatballs. I cannot commend these appetizers, enough. The croquettes were exquisitely soft, the outer breading was thin enough that it wasn't crunchy, and the seasoning was delectable. The meatballs were just as good as the croquettes and that sauce was mouth-watering good. The entree just kept getting better. We shared the Churrasco entree (Angus skirt steak and grilled vegetables). The steak was already sliced, the meat was succulent, savory, and a dream to enjoy.
