Will preface my review by saying this is our bookclub's favorite place to meet! They offer happy hour every day and have great cocktails and bites! The staff here recognizes us and although sometimes we come when they are very busy, they still give us the best service. The drinks are consistently good and food comes quick! I went with a group of friends for happy hour and i really liked the space. It was spacious and comfy and fit all 8 of us. The servers were also very kind and attentive. Last Friday after work, I stopped by  for a drink, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The place is gorgeous, decorated in a very elegant and traditional style that immediately creates a refined atmosphere. The ambiance was calm and relaxing when we arrived, and although it gradually became more crowded, the overall vibe never changed. The service was outstanding. Staff were attentive to every detail, courteous, and formal without feeling stiff or unwelcoming. It was happy hour, and classic cocktails were at a reduced price. Every drink we tried was very well executed, with a perfect balance of alcohol, flavor, and presentation. The margarita and the Vesper were prepared to perfection, definitely  one of  the best I have ever had. We also sampled a few signature cocktails at regular price, and those were also very good. The bar offers a small snack menu, which left me with mixed feelings. While everything we tried tasted very good, the portion size relative to the price was somewhat disappointing, particularly the croquettes and the tuna bites. Around 7:30 p.m., the have "live music". It was DJ.  Unfortunately, it was not particularly lively , so we left. I truly loved the place. It is an ideal spot for excellent cocktails in an elegant setting. read more

The Commodore inside the Ritz Carlton in Coconut Grove is a smaller ish bar. The bar itself is very elegant with dark wood accents and dimmed lighting. The place itself is very intimate and sexy. The couches are big, brown leather couches that you would see at a faculty lounge at an Ivy League school. There's something about those old school big brown leather couches that hits the right aesthetic for me! They're cozy, comfy and sexy all at the same time! The place has a fireplace with shelves full of books to each end of the fire! Perfect for a relaxing time while waiting for a flight or your next business trip "talk with strangers at the bar" kind of night! I really enjoyed their cheese platter, pizza and French fries! The bar itself is really pretty with all the usual liquor bottles displayed ever so strategically to entice you to get another drink! Really love the lighting in this place! We came in for happy hour and we were so pleasantly surprised. We live in the area and didn't even know this place existed! The feel is like an old school cigar lounge/library. They even have a fireplace! Happy Hour is daily from 5p-7p. The HH menu has a great selection of bites and cocktails. You also have the ability to order the full menu from Isabelle's. We sat the bar and Jay was extremely helpful with suggestions and we also had great conversation. This place was a hidden gem for us. RUN, do not walk to happy hour at The Commodore. It happens daily from 5 - 7 pm and features $8 signature cocktails and also $8 bites. It is a total steal especially when you consider it is located inside the Ritz. I really love the Ritz in the Grove, it is such a vibe. And The Commodore does not disappoint. It's a stunning, cozy bar that has a great bar area as well as a good amount of couch and lounge seating. If you're looking to grab a drink for date night, this is a great spot as it's pretty dimly lit and has good vibes for a date. My girlfriends and I popped in a on Saturday after a spa treatment and ordered a few happy hour cocktails. My vesper was delish and the old fashioned my friend ordered was good as well. We ordered one round of 3 drinks and a mocktail, along with a small cheese board from the happy hour menu for a grand total of $56 including tip. A total steal. Outside of happy hour, the cocktail menu is extensive and they make a great dirty martini. This is one of the more posh options of hidden yet premium bars in Coconut Grove that I like to come to. Tucked away inside the Ritz-Carlton, you'll find this sultry bar that is so much more than just an addition to a hotel. Upon my most recent visit, I opted for two espresso martinis in efforts to kill time before my dinner resy nearby. Not only is the service on point but so are their cocktails. Bar bites are offered alongside your drink as the elegantly decorated seating area amongst their wood-panelled walls set the mood. Everything is nicer at the Ritz and this bar is the perfect way to aim for such. It's a higher end option for those elegant nights where a dive bar isn't suffice so dress accordingly. I love this bar! We are staying at The Ritz for our anniversary weekend and decided to grab a drink here after dinner. This bar has such good vibes, live music, a cozy atmosphere and great drinks. What's better than that!? Hubby got an espresso martini and I got the French 47. It was the most expensive cocktail I've ever had at $36, but so worth it! It tasted amazing! So refreshing and light, I ordered 2 lol. It was anniversary weekend, yolo. Service was friendly and relaxed. So classy and refined. Drinks are more pricey than normal but they are top notch. One of my favorite bar in the grove. A perfect place to discuss books over a delicious drink. The vibe is perfect for a low key night or an intellectual conversation with dim lighting. Upscale hotel bar resembling the decor of an old library- lighting on the dimmer side (to set the right mood), a fireplace, bookshelves, etc. The service is great, and the bartenders know their way around craft cocktails. The food served comes from the hotel restaurant- it is decent. The best is their happy hour menu, which offers select bites and classic cocktails for $8 each. They are good. The Commodore is a really nice, spacious and upscale bar/lounge with a speakeasy vibe. The staff is super nice and made us feel welcome after a Yelp event on the property nearby. Our favorite seating is by the fireplace, very cozy and great place to enjoy some good bourbon. They also brought us the most delicious and healthy bar bites. Speak Easy..rockin the ladies I'm breezy..yes, The Commodore has a speakeasy-ish mesh peephole, and a real fireplace! There are also a few leather couches around said fireplace, as well as a full bar. I didn't notice any music, making it a perfect place to chat or take some umm post-libation photos :) Lighting is perfectly dim as well, as well as a decent looking bar snack food menu. Thanks to Wendy, we ended up here after last night's Yelpies for our afterparty. A low key room just off Isabelle's, the Commodore room is perfect for a nightcap and good conversation. The only reason it's a 4 star review is for me, as I left literally 10 minutes before my role model, my hero the real Mr. 305 stopped by. That's right, Pitbull came by to party with us Yelpers! From what I hear, The Commodore has an excellent cocktail menu. Me being a rum snob, I started with a very smooth mojito. Enjoying the conversation, I forgot to take a picture. I did photograph and savor the tequila cocktail, the Uno Mas, flavored with pamplemousse and aperol that was complimentary with our Yelp check in. After the Yelpies, we headed over to The Commodore. In typical fashion, this was all Wendy A.'s idea. The Commodore has a speak easy feel. And dare I say it? Some of the most comfortable chairs ever. They had a check-in offer for a buy one, get one free, but I didn't partake in that. I think I had had enough at the prior venue. I went for the company and the place didn't disappoint. The bartenders were all friendly folk. I got some water at some point and left. The place did make an impression on me with its dim lighting and swanky décor. I wish I hadn't left so early though. I only found out about this place from Wendy A's UYE right after the 2018 Yelpies at nearby Isabelle's. This speakeasy looks really nice inside. It even has a fireplace. Good find Wendy. We had a nice time here with our friends of Yelp Miami Elite. It's a great place to bring a date or some really close friends. I'd come back. Remember to use their check-in offer when buying drinks which is currently a buy one, get one free drink offer. Bring a friend, check in, save some money. I almost forgot. It should be noted that one of the primary reasons The Commodore has such a high overall rating is because more than 3 years ago (early 2019), there was a Yelp Elite event held in the restaurant of this hotel (Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove) and several of us Elites at the time came here to The Commodore for an afterparty. Many reviewed it and gave it a high rating for that particular party, but those reviews don't really reflect a "typical consumer experience". I remembered The Commodore being small and intimate with good drinks created by actual "mixologists" and having a fairly creative specialty cocktail menu - and I'd often planned to return to this place. We finally came here on a recent evening to have an after dinner cocktail. Unfortunately our overall experience wasn't good, though to their credit, this place did try and make up for some of the hiccups. When we arrived, there weren't 2 open seats together at the bar, but a server invited us to have a seat in one of the brown leather chairs or sofas in this rather intimate and upscale-looking establishment, and she'd serve us. They had an "entertainer" on this night; basically a woman sitting in the dark next to the fireplace singing karaoke and looking at her phone the entire time to play the karaoke tracks and read the lyrics. We had a seat and the server was there shortly with ice water and menus. She returned a few minutes later to take our orders and then we waited....and waited...and waited. Finally about 20 minutes later she came with my husband's drink, but told me they were out of berries to make the one I'd ordered. She offered a different berry which I accepted. I then waited...and waited. Since I'd called to pay for streetside parking at the same time we were walking into this bar, I was able to look at my phone and see that it had been 32 minutes between the time we first arrived here and were seated, and the time I finally got my first beverage - and the place wasn't busy at all. They had 1 bartender and 2 servers and only 9 customers in the place aside from us. Let me repeat: A bartender, 2 servers, 9 patrons aside from us and it took more than 30 minutes to get a relatively simple and basic cocktail. I brought this to the server's attention and she asked if I wanted her to comp my drink. I explained that was up to her, but reiterated that we'd been waiting more than 1/2 hour to simply get a beverage and the place was relatively quiet. We finished our drinks and relocated to the bar. I must say the bartender was very outgoing, apologetic and had a great personality. She apologized for the long wait for our first round and told us they'd comped both our first drinks, which was appreciated but not really necessary. We each ordered another and both were quite good. Once we'd finished she rang us up, and the total for our 2 drinks with tax and included auto gratuity came to nearly $52. We left here and went to a different bar on Coral Way where we were served almost immediately, our drinks took just a few moments to be served to us, and each of our well-crafted cocktails at that other place cost $12 each. There was a night and day difference in many ways between the Commodore Club and that other bar. The staff of The Commodore club should go to the other spot and take some lessons for sure. read more

Small and intimate....one of my favorite bars for multiple reasons that shall remain unknown. I've been several times and have been equally impressed each and every time. Service is always good, bites are even better and I have to say the drinks don't disappoint. This spot is nice enough to hang with your friends and actually be able to have a conversation. It's not loud and crowded like many happy hour spots around the city. It's laid-back...I'm confident and too cool for school kind of vibe. I came here due to an after yelp after party (thanks Wendy). Loved the atmosphere, very comfortable place to kick back, have a drink and relax. Service was pretty good considering the amount of people that showed up at once for the after party. Had a blue moon and drank away while talking to a good friend of mine. During the time there, I saw Pitbull and took a picture with him. Really was very nice of him to take a picture with me and he totally didn't have to. It was a wonderful experience but after an hour or so, I had to go as I had a long road ahead of me back home. Wonderful and beautiful bar. read more

This place is sexy in a "rich businessman's private den" kind of way. The Yelp check-in deal (2 for 1 specialty cocktails) is good on select signature Commodore cocktails and most regular cocktails and are served in fancy Waterford Crystal. I'm a big fan of the spicy raspberry Collins (fresh raspberry with a slight jalapeño kick), the cucumber mule (if you're a fan of cucumbers, give it a try), and the una mas (you can't go wrong with tequila & aperol...so refreshing!). Bar bites are available, as well as cigars for the distinguished fellows. Service can be a bit slow, since the bartenders are true mixologists. There's a patio located outside and cozy leather seats inside...even a fireplace. Restrooms, located outside The Commodore in the hotel, are huge and clean because the Ritz-Carlton wouldn't have it any other way. read more

You walk in and you feel like you went back to the 1920s. Dark romantic vibe. Place looks small but it's not at all. Plenty of places to sit. The only thing missing is a cigar lounge. Looks like a speak easy and expensive. Drinks tasted amazing and the bartenders were great. The most amazing thing about this place is the vibe. My fiancé wanted to go out to a nice romantic bar. So I did some research and found The Commodore. It's a very nice and upscale bar can't go wrong! We entered the valet at The Ritz in Coconut Grove very impressive and the attendants were very courteous! The showed us the way to The Commodore. Once inside it was very nice! We sat at the bar in a cozy corner my fiancé was definitely impressed! There was a band playing lounge jazz! They were amazing! We ordered our drinks. My fiancé had a Rum and I had an old fashioned. The bartenders were on point! Very knowledgeable and friendly! I think it was Alex and I forgot the other guys name, but they were good!
