Been wanting to check this spot out for the longest. The time finally came and it did not disappoint. Entering was like an entrance to the coolest secret. With the big tree, lights hanging, it was a whole vine...ha ha get it. It was a Tuesday evening and they had $35 bottomless. Good decision. We decided to save the bottomless for the following week and decided on a refreshing Rosé, made our own charcuterie board, and went with the ph so popular cesar fries....get this and you're welcome it advance. As we eaited the music played everything from old school hip hop, R& B, to classic French tunes, it was wonderful. The selection of wines was actually surprising and ask all the questions you want, they know what their selling here. When deciding on the charcuterie upgrade to make sure you get the extras, trust me so worth it. It was such a wonderful adulting time. So glad a place like this exists closer. Its all fabulous here. Came to Magie Wine Bar for the Love Island USA watch party they were hosting, and prior to coming here I hadn't ever been to a wine bar nor have I ever really been a wine person. We came in and immediately someone came over and was eager to walk us through the process and made a handful of recommendations especially when it came to the wine. The gentleman whose name I didn't get unfortunately, was extremely kind and helpful, the service here was amazing and we ended up loving the wine he recommended us. The food was also great we ordered the Caesar Fries, the Magie Plate which came with the bread, strawberry spread and some olives and pickles for the meats, we also got the Hot Dog and everything we had was really good. The ambiance is very nice it's a cozy little hole in the wall that you would definitely miss driving by it. Outside patio area had a lot of seating and as well as couches. As others have stated, Magie is good in concept and we'll likely return here, but with just a bit more effort on their part this wine bar could be so much better IMO. Unlike some other reviewers that scoffed at the prices of the wine, that didn't bother me so much. We had a bottle here that cost $55 and it retails for about $28; I was OK with that, as all restaurants and wine bars have a markup above retail, and even when you go to spots like Happy Wine or El Carajo and pick out a bottle to drink while in their shop, they charge a corkage fee for that. What I did have a problem with is that, after the "service charge" and other fees were added on, our $55 bottle rang up to more than $73 in total, which was ludicrous. When we first arrived at Magie we were met by a young guy who pointed out the bottles and where the various charcuterie items are located in the coolers, and we were then pretty much left on our own. We really just wanted a glass of wine each, but unlike places like Vinoteca, here at Magie they had a very limited selection of wines by the glass, and the ones available all seemed to come in single-serve cans. We picked out a bottle to share, went to the register, paid and the guy opened it and handed us 2 glasses. When I returned to get napkins, the guy just motioned to where the napkins were so I could grab my own (after moving a delivery cart out of the way by myself so I could reach them). Again, though this place includes an automatic "service charge", we received zero actual "service" unless one considers the 45 seconds it takes to uncork our bottle and charge us for the purchase. We had a seat, had a glass of wine each and then re-corked our bottle of wine and took it with us. Overall I think Magie is a great concept with lots of potential. The inside seating area is interestingly decorated and outfitted with lots of eclectic furniture and items on the walls, and the relatively large patio seating out front with tables for 2 to 8 people is shielded from the adjacent street/traffic and shaded by lots of trees and greenery. The ambiance overall is really very nice. The service, however, was non-existent, especially considering the automatic charge for that, and while prices of at least some wines aren't terribly out of line, the fact that all the service charges, taxes and fees added $20 to the cost of our bottle was a bit of a shocker. Magie should consider adding more wines by the glass IMO. Not just subpar quality single-serve cans, but decent wines, poured from a proper bottle with a topper that preserves the wine between pours like most every quality wine bar commonly offers. Lastly, while I don't think anyone expects linen napkins and white glove service, the paper plates and plastic cutlery customers are given to eat with are a bit off vs. what this place appears to be trying to be and the prices charged. The "F*ck Brunch" positioning statement on the back of the staffs' shirts was an interesting touch. read more

Went on Friday night and had the absolute best time. Great wine selection (although I wish they had Lambrusco). The food was also phenomenal. Shoutout to the girl that told me about the potato flautas which were not on the menu because they were incredible. We also had the Caesar fries, fancy chips, dinosaur nuggets with caviar. This spot in the Grove is super chill and great to have a bottle or glass of wine with your favorite girls. The first location in the River is better imo because the location is bigger, there is plenty more seating than the Grove location. Although, I still enjoyed my time at this location as well. Sooo how it works is that you go inside and pick a bottle of wine from the fridges. You can also order by the glass if you aren't a big drinker or if you want to try different wines. The bottles are moderately priced depending on your selection. We chose an orange wine and it was nice, very refreshing, you can really get that citrus essence with every sip. Another thing that they have is that you can pick different cheeses and meats and they will build you a charcuterie board. I love this because it is all based on your selection, nothing will go to waste. They also have food you can order. A lot of people love the nuggets with caviar. I think they are decent imo but I'm not like in love with them. Parking can be a bit annoying... If there isn't street parking, you can also park in the garage. The service was good, the staff was friendly. The only thing that was a hassle was getting a table. We had to wait a bit in order for a table to become available. Overall, this spot is a very cozy place to hang and mingle with friends. read more

Just a great find! Magie gets really packed and it could be a struggle to find a seat but definitely worth the wait. Everyone is super friendly. We got a little help picking our wine and the suggestion made was excellent. We also enjoyed a charcuterie board that paired so well with the wine. The ambiance is cute with seating inside and outside and nice, mellow vibes. Our busser was really nice too. Ngl, otherwise disliked this place as the pricing felt very unfair. Small can of beer is $7, large is $9. Already more expensive than most places, and my beer actually rung up to $10. I assume due to the mandatory service charge mentioned in other reviews. Given it's self service and the price point is high enough they should be able to pay their workers, this feels pretty inexcusable. Wines "by the glass" are actually all cans of wine in a fridge. You pick it out and they pour it into a glass for you. And all cans of wine are $15!? Why? I can get a four pack of them of comparable quality at the store for like $11. Basically they're trying to be Lagniappe but the product isn't as good and it's far more expensive. While the vibe is nice, there are so many lovely places for a drink in the Grove. So this one won't be making my list. read more

I have been following this place on Instagram ever since I went to the first location in North Miami. I loved being able to pick up my own wines and items for the charcuterie board. so I was pleasantly surprised that I was close by when visiting Coconut Grove. Me and my friend just had to stop in to see if this location was as good as the original and to our benefit it was. While it was late, the place was still buzzing with people and some good music. We were able to go and pick a great bottle of wine and so many yummy items for our grazing. We set up some cool sofas and we're able to have a great conversation. I had been to the Magie in Little River. Loved the vibe didn't like the location. Was so happy to see the location in Coconut Grove. Got here at around 6:30 PM. It was BUSY. Managed to get a table for 3 people. This place is all about the vibes. A great place for a girly catch up or date. Opt for the cheese plate and bread a great option. I saw many people get the fries. They don't have the same menu as the OG spot. No girl dinner option. Overall recommend this spot. Come early to get a good table! People were waiting for a table for a while. Checked out Magie with some friends before dinner in the Grove. We heard about it so we had to check it out. The ambiance and vibe is cool, good amount of seating inside and outside. There were some card games like Uno inside too, so it could be a fun hangout location with friends. I shared a charcuterie board with my friend, which was made up of prosciutto, brie cheese, and truffle pecorino. The board was ready pretty quick! Service was friendly too. Tucked away in the corner that houses Ariete and Sereia on Main Highway, you can find Magie's second location in the Grove. We walked in expecting an artisanal experience; we walked out $163 lighter and questioning every life choice that led us to this table.     *    The Meats: Instead of prosciutto or wagyu bresaola, we were served Bologna. Not even the fancy thick-cut stuff--this was the "pressed-into-a-perfect-circle" mystery meat that usually requires a cartoon character on the packaging.     *    The Starch: A handful of Ruffles chips. Not even the "Hint of Lime" or anything adventurous. Just plain, salty, ridged disappointment.     *    The "Garnish": They tried to hide the crime with a dollop of caviar. But not the good kind. This was the super-fishy, neon-green kind that tastes like someone processed a bunch of salty ping-pong balls. Pairing this "bad caviar" with cold dinosaur nuggets is a gastronomical tragedy.     *    The Pièce de Résistance: Dino Nuggets. Served cold. I'm pretty sure the T-Rex died a second death when he saw he was being paired with... whatever that caviar was. The Wine ($45) I'm no sommelier, but I've spent enough time at the Shell station on 4th Street to recognize their "Vintage 2024" selection. This bottle had the distinct notes of "overpriced" and "available next to the beef jerky." Paying a 400% markup for gas station grapes really rounded out the feeling of being legally robbed. If you want to pay triple digits to eat like a 6-year-old whose parents forgot to go grocery shopping (but still have a weird caviar habit), this is your spot. Otherwise, just go to the 7-Eleven down the street and eat it in the parking lot. It'll taste better and you can keep your dignity. read more

We went to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was my first time visiting this restaurant. We ordered different items on the menu and was excited to try it all. I was very shocked to see when we ordered, that they charge an automatic 18% gratuity charge, but because of this I expected outstanding service. We were told we'd get a text message when our food was ready, so we waited outside. After sometime, someone came out with an attitude, claiming our food had been sitting out for half an hour. Her tone was very sarcastic and I was shocked to hear this. Regardless, we didn't mind and went to pick it up at the counter, only to be met with more passive-aggressive comments from another staff member.
