The grilled cheese was next level, super crispy, cheesy, and not basic at all (I'm still craving it). The beef carpaccio was super fresh and perfectly balanced. The skirt steak? We were seated outside by a waitress and were given water and menus. Shortly afterward, the hostess came to our table and told us that she had not seated us and that she needed the table back. Although more than half of the outdoor tables were empty, she claimed there were reservations for that specific table. We were then asked to leave the table, and ultimately the restaurant could not provide us with another one. Being asked to move after already being seated and then effectively turned away was embarrassing and disappointing. The situation seemed poorly managed and left us feeling unwelcome. I understand that mistakes can happen, but customers should not be inconvenienced because of a lack of communication between staff members. Once guests have been seated and served water, they should either be accommodated at another table or offered a sincere apology and solution. Instead, we were asked to give up our table and were left without a place to dine despite numerous empty tables being available. read more

The indoor area does seem small from a glance but has charm. There is a wide selection of wines, and surprisingly of food too (considering I thought this place was more focused on wines). We got order of pan con tomate, whipped feta, and the ropa vieja with sweet potato fries. I will start with the ropa vieja plate as it was my favorite dish! The plate comes with a reasonable portion and I would definitely say it is shareable for 2-3 people. It was so flavorful and I liked that there was a good amount of protein and not just the fries. Some friends and I were celebrating a birthday and we decided to try out The Grape Ape. We'll it was the best idea. We of course had a reservation and arrived about 5 minutes prior and they were preparing our table. The restaurant is interesting and the wine selection is large. Lots of choices. We were seated and out server was Dominic. Very pleasant and friendly. He helped us with the choices, which were all great suggestions. We ordered all apps, wine and I ordered white sangria. The sangria was made with what seamed to be canned fruit cocktail. The drink was good but I wasn't a fan of the fruit they used. See pics of what we ordered. I was in the area and decided to come try the new spot, we liked it very much. They have a great wine selection; you can walk around and pick your bottle and bring to your table. However, there is a corkage fee even though you're buying their wine which I thought was weird. We tried the manchego cheese croquettes and the tuna tartar tostones, they were both delicious. We also decided to try their burger and it was really good as well. We celebrated Friendsgiving this year at Grape Spring in South Miami, and honestly, we couldn't have picked a more perfect spot. They accommodated our party of eight flawlessly, and to top it off, we even had live music on a Wednesday night. This place is such an incredible wine place with tons of amazing bottles and varieties to choose from. You basically shop around the space, pick out your own wine, and bring it back to the table for your server to open and serve. Everything is organized by region and the prices vary so you can easily find something that fits your taste and budget. Every staff member we encountered was fantastic, and everything we ate and drank was just as good. We started with a red Pinot noir bottle we loved so much that we ended up ordering three more for the table. For food, we ordered several dishes to share: The Marinated Olives which i didn't try these because I'm not an olive person. The Bacon Wrapped Plantains which was such a unique combo, and surprisingly delicious. The Local Burrata which was absolutely delicious. I've never met a pan con burrata I didn't like. The Manchego Croquetas were my absolutely favorite. manchego is one of my favorite cheeses, so I already knew I'd love this. Perfectly balanced, not greasy at all, crispy on the outside, melty and creamy on the inside. The honey sauce on the side was the perfect touch. We also got the Steak Frites & Chicken to share which was super tender, flavorful, and the fries were perfectly crispy, just how I love them. They were out of the yuca bravas, so we couldn't try these but they sound phenomenal. And we couldn't chose what desssert we wanted so we went with all three. The flourless chocolate cake with icecream, the key like tres leche and the guava tiramisu. Alll delicious !! And lastly , i have to highlight Thalia, our server. She was exceptional! Truly a five-star experience for our first visit. We visited this restaurant at 5:30 PM as a group of four adults and two children. We were clearly told there was a reservation at 6:45 PM, and we agreed in advance that we would leave before that time. Despite this, from the moment we sat down, the staff created an extremely rushed and uncomfortable atmosphere. Within seconds of sitting, we were pressured to order--repeatedly--even though we were still waiting for another guest to arrive. This level of insistence was inappropriate and unprofessional. Throughout the meal, the pressure only increased. Plates were removed almost instantly the moment someone finished eating, without any consideration for the table. It felt less like dining and more like being processed and pushed out as quickly as possible. Toward the end, several staff members were visibly standing around watching us, clearly waiting for us to leave. This behavior was not only rude but also deeply disrespectful--especially considering we had children with us. If the restaurant was unable to accommodate us in a welcoming manner, they should have simply declined to seat us in the first place. We would have happily gone elsewhere. Instead, we were accepted as customers, only to be rushed out in a way that made us feel unwelcome from start to finish. This is not hospitality. I absolutely loved my experience at The Grape Ape! Being a fan of The Eating House, I was already excited knowing the same chef was behind not just that spot, but also Luca Osteria. Expectations were high--and they were definitely met. I went in for an early, quiet solo dinner, and the moment I walked through the door, a smile lit up my face. I grew up in the 80s and 90s, and the space instantly took me back--but with an elevated, fine-wine-dining twist. The ambience was a whole vibe--nostalgic, yet refined and effortlessly cool. There's even an arcade game! The food menu? Straight fire. It was hard for me to decide. I only ordered two dishes this time, but now I know: come hungry! The Greek Caesar salad was a perfect blend of crisp freshness and tangy punch. And the Bao Buns Vaca Frita? Just wow. Everything I imagined and more--the bold, savory Cuban flavors hit just right. My favorite was the pan tumaca and tuna tostones! The entrees are limited. The rock shrimp could benefit from rice as it's hard/messy to eat with just bread. The actual location is pretty and decorated modern. My concern is the tabling. Our group of 3 had a table in the middle and constantly had to move around to let servers pass by.
