I am updating my review here to talk about Cafe Magie. During the summer, they decided to open their doors at 9 am on Fridays serving complimentary coffee and breakfast sandos and pastries for purchase. One thing I love about Magie is they are always going to uplift folks in the community - be it with space for local businesses who don't have brick and mortars to pop-up and sell food, or by creating a space for locals to hang and get work done and not be bored in their houses. I can definitely see myself at Cafe Magie on Fridays this summer. Service is always so friendly here, and the space is so cozy it's perfect to get work done, and then once the clock strikes wine-o-clock you can enjoy wine while you work, too! read more

There was supposed to be a collab with Edan Bistro, but by the time I got there at 8:45 and apparently there was some miscommunication about the menus for the restaurant experience. I ordered a charcuterie tray for the three of us; it's not premade. You pick the ingredients and then they are charged à la carte. For the one we enjoyed with Brie, prosciutto and jam. It came up to about $40. We enjoyed a bottle of chardonnay - nicely cool and crisp - while chatting and enjoying the game. I think they just have bottles, not wine by the glass. I'd certainly recommend Magie for a casual date night, or nightcap after dinner elsewhere. The patio with string lights and all does seem cute for a quiet evening. read more

I came here for Cafe Magie and I loved the concept! I work from home so I'm always looking for a fun place I can work from. When I saw that Magie was opening during the day I decided to give it a go! They offer lots of seating and free wifi along with free coffee and tea! They have bacon egg and cheese sandwiches along with pastries for sale. I tried the BEC and it was yummy and filling! The staff is super friendly, it was my first time and Sean gave me a a warm welcome! There's open seating and it's first come first served. There's background music but it's not too loud so you can take calls. Parking is available in the lot or street parking nearby. read more

This Magie location opened about a year and a half ago. My friends and I stopped by to do a wine night, and it was such a nice time. There is a parking lot right on the side of the building, but if that lot is full, there is also street parking, and parking across the street in a lot behind the Citadel. The service here was great! All of the staff were very nice and welcoming. The set up of the lounge is also very cozy. There is plenty of space for people to sit whether you're on a date or with a small group, but seating is first come first serve, so if you're coming with a group it's better to get there earlier in the evening so you have a space comfortable enough for the size of your group. There is also indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. There are many wines to choose from and they also have a decent menu with light bites. We opted for the Dino nuggets and caviar which were a hit, the fried olives and some meats and cheeses with some cornishons, fig jam and a sliced baguette. Overall this place has a great vibe to it and I heard they host events every so often. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a nice space to chill with some friends and enjoy a nice spot in Miami. read more

My new obsession is Magie wine bar!! The ambiance is so cute, I love the indoor furniture, th outdoor patio with string lights, and the rotund refrigerators that house a delectable assortment of wine, cheese and meat. They will build you a charcuterie board with whichever meats and cheeses you select, and they give you fig jam, bread, and olives. It's incredible. They have a selection of hot food as well that you can order behind the bar. We of course had to try the caviar nuggets, they were awesome. The incredible employees helped us choose wine, I'm not much of a wine drinker but it tasted smooth and didn't give me a hangover. I can't wait to return and try their hot dog! read more

This is such a great little wine bar. The outdoor space is so well laid out and very inviting for an intimate conversation or a large group to play games. The night we went they had a cool event with table games outside for people to meet, mingle, and make new connections. I happened to be there on a Wednesday, in which they offer bottomless wine for $35 from 6:00-8. They offered 3 wines in the deal. And all were relatively good. They also have a small menu of fast food. My friend ordered the mortadella sliders and he loved them. The birthday girl we were with ordered and assortment of cheese and they made her a nice charcuterie board for the table to share. My favorite aspect of this wine bar is the mismatched tables and chairs all arranged in what would feel like your favorite eccentric auntie's house. Which lended itself to the large party we were with to really mingle and move around. The one thing I didn't like is that they don't offer wines by the glass, if you want a single portion you have to order a can. So, I guess this is a place to come in good company and ready to share a nice bottle. read more

I went for happy hour and arrived around 5pm. We had the brûlée brie, the happy hour charcuterie, the sausage from Proper Sausage, and a bottle of the primitivo (show in the image). It was a great experience and we were happy with the recommendations they gave us and ordered what they recommended. They have comfortable seating indoors as well as a back patio. If you've been to Lagniappe, there is a similar vibe but Magie feels classier and there is way less of a young crowd, like Lagniappe's older sibling. read more

Loved Magie! Came by for a Ted's Burgers popup and was pleasantly surprised. The vibe and ambiance of Magie was great. The staff was super friendly and helpful and I absolutely enjoyed seeing everyone out with their pups! I had mine as well! Magie serves a variety of beers and, of course, wines and they also have food of their own I believe. They also have nonalcoholic options if you're into that. Very solid spot with a nice selection of wines & snacks. The music was banging and it set the right tone.

Bottles start at $50 per bottle. We got a $70 bottle of white wine and it wasn't that great as it was too sour and our group didn't finish it. They also had food and we ordered fried halloumi and it was $18. The portion was pretty small. The halloumi tasted good but I'm just trying to show the price range. We need to acknowledge that the whole concept of Lagniappe-type place by definition cannot be upscale. You cannot create a fancy Lagniappe because the whole self-service backyard patio concept should not be expensive. What this place did was charge more than lagniappe without bringing any additional value to lagniappe. If you want to drink wine in a fancy environment - you go to a nice bar or a nice restaurant and buy wine there. Also, compared to lagniappe, here, you are in a developing area where you absolutely cannot walk to anything else as there's nothing around. So, again, why the high price compared to lagniappe when lagniappe is in a better location? To mention the good, yes it doesn't have any college students (they were priced out) and it wasn't crowded at all on a Saturday night. It's nice that you don't have to wait long for a table. If this is something that you're willing to pay a premium for - go for it. Overall, my rating is the way it is because the whole concept/pricing makes no sense. read more

This used to be Sherwood! It still somewhat resembles it inside. We chose this spot for girls night. They offer free parking around back. That always helps when making plans. Inside are several tables with random decor. You order at the bar. We tried the chile limon popcorn. For $4, can't beat it! You can actually taste both flavors. I was impressed. I always call this place an elevated Lagniappe- still casual and welcoming. It gives you a sense of a more put together version of what inspired it. With tons of events happening on a weekly basis this can easily become you go to meeting spot with friends or for date nights, they're wine selection is great and multiple sitting areas allows you for room to move around while also creating intimacy. MAGIE is like Lagniappe's more mature, all-grown-up sibling. It has that same cozy, chill vibe but with a high-end twist that feels perfect for a night out when you're in the mood for something a little nicer and way less packed. When we went, they had a Yakitori pop-up, and let me tell you, those skewers were so good. Each bite was full of flavor, and it was such a fun addition to the menu. We also got the stracciatella--it was fresh and tasty, but nothing too wild. Still, a solid choice! The wine selection was on point, and I loved the way the inside of MAGIE is set up. It's super cozy and chill but still feels elevated. I have been wanting to go here for a while ! I asked a friend if she wanted to go on a Sunday on a day where they had an event. It is located in Little River. There's parking there . But when we got there it was a bit flooded. Limited parking also. My friend parked street parking. As soon as you walk in you are blown away by the classy decor. The place is wonderful ! The attention to detail can be seen. We got the girl dinner . A great option for 65 to share between two people. It comes to around $35 per person. The girl dinner consists of: - a bottle that less than $50 - a cheese toastie -a charcuterie board filled with bread, cheese, jam, olives etc Overall I loved this spot ! It truly is a hidden gem. This place is probably sick and tired of being compared to Lagniappe, but they are similar. I took a group of visiting friends here because, quite frankly, I think i have aged out of Lagniappe lol. It's too crazy and crowded. Magie was actually just as crowded, so we had a hard time finding seats. We ended up grabbing a couple of chairs by the bar. It was oddly warm, so we were a little uncomfortable and sweaty. However, I think I much prefer this crowd and scene. There is a moderate wine selection, some beer, and some bites to nosh on. Every corner of Magie is touched with love and consideration to offer the best new concept to the community. Magie is an amazing option for large groups. They were kind enough to reserve a section for 15 of us to celebrate a birthday. The charcuterie options are grab and go DIY style along with a fridge of hand picked bottles for you to select and pay at the register. Zak the baker is one of their amazing vendors for some of their delicious menu options! This venue is HUGE and simply a vibe. Loved trying the place for the first time! When you walk in the decor is very eclectic. They had paintings all over the walls, memorabilia, and furniture that were a mix match of great finds that personalize the vibe. I loved it, it felt so cozy and welcoming! The staff was friendly and I happen to go early on a Thursday. I love that you have fridges stocked with cheese and proteins to choose on your own for your charcuterie board. You also have variety of wine to choose from, sangria, and beer too. You bring the items of choice to the counter and the staff can put the charcuterie together for you paired with bread and fig for $7 additional. It was a good choice. The board came with fig, nuts, and bread accompanied by my Brie and vegetables that I chose. I chose a white sangria for my pairing. It was by pulpolco. It was crisp and delicious! They also have the cutest outside patio to enjoy after the sun in this heat. If you like laignappe you will love it here too! Magie is a great addition to the Miami Shores area. For far too long, Lagniappe was the only Miami wine bar experience with a vibe (that doesn't just feel like a shop or Spanish restaurant). Magie offers a much less crowded, more intimate setting, where you can casually pull up a chair and enjoy with friends or a date. It very much feels like you're just hanging out in someone's dining room. I had popped into this spot once before and was told wine was only offered by the bottle so I kept that in mind this go around. My friend and I picked a bottle of Rouge (it was a Cabernet/Syrah combo) to try something different + prosciutto, salami, and burrata, as well as their bacon wrapped dates. Definitely have them put it all together for you with the fig, olives, and bread - it's worth it for an additional $7 I believe it was. Everything was delicious. Our only gripe was with the bottle of wine we picked - both of us were having a hard time enjoying it. My friend mentioned it to the person who had wrung us up, who happens to be the general manager, and she was really gracious, offering to swap it for another bottle at the same price point. We grabbed a Malbec and were happy with it. I'd love to come back and sit in their outdoor garden area when it's less hot in Miami. read more

This new spot boasts an amazing wine collection, a super unique small carefully curated menu, and the best casual non stuffy/regular Miami vibes. They even boast a great patio/outdoor spot. Magie is a unique experience. It is an order at the counter, pick up food and wine yourself type of place. The service was good, but the incredibly unique dishes stole the show. Pricing was suuuuuper fair here. They have a girl dinner special which is very affordable. Did not expect to LOVE this wine bar as much as I did, but it's pretty much a Perfect spot. Coolers have large selection of wine/cheeses/meats, and even some single serve beer and canned wine. Bar has some light bites you can order and pickup at the kitchen window. Was looking for a Sauvignon Blanc that looked to be sold out in the cooler, asked one of the attendants behind the bar/register and they immediately checked their stock in the back and refilled the cooler. Winning customer service!!! Bottle came with a free bag of theater popcorn, perfect snack! At 7:30 on a Saturday night, easily found a small table and couch inside with plenty of seating left in the yard. Left at around 10pm and definitely packed. So I wanted red but they did have a red open so I had choice of orange or white. My favorite recent find. It's warm and sultry like you're in a well-furnished, very tastefully decorated European cottage. The concept is brilliant. Pick your wine, pick your cheese/charcuterie and find a spot. They arrange your picks on a plate with olives, bread, and jam. The charcuterie is great of course, but the bites are also delicious!
