This is, without a doubt, one of the worst restaurants I have ever visited…read more From the moment my wife and I walked in at 4:00 PM, the experience was disappointing. The restaurant was practically empty, which should have been the first warning sign. We started by ordering drinks. The menu listed more than five beers, yet they only had two available because, according to them, their freezer was broken. Fine, things happen. We then ordered a Moscow Mule, only to be told they couldn't make it because they aren't a full bar. Understandable. Next, we asked for an Aperol Spritz. They didn't have that either. Finally, hoping they could at least make a simple mojito, we ordered one--only to be told they didn't have mint leaves. At that point, it was almost laughable. Then the food arrived. They served old bread that wasn't even warm. We ordered two appetizers: the garlic shrimp, which was just average, and the tuna tiradito. The tuna tiradito was easily the worst I've ever had. The presentation was terrible. The tuna looked like it had been cut with a dull rock instead of a sharp knife. The sauce was supposed to have fresh lemon and truffle oil, but it tasted like bottled fake lemon juice with some strange black paste dumped on top. It was completely unappetizing. (I'll attach a photo so you can judge for yourself.) The most frustrating part came when the waitress asked if everything was okay. We politely explained our concerns, including all the issues with the drinks and the food. Instead of apologizing or trying to make things right, she argued with us and became defensive. Customer service is about solving problems, not debating with your guests. Overall, this was an awful dining experience from beginning to end. I genuinely don't understand how this restaurant has a 4.8-star rating with over a thousand reviews because it certainly didn't reflect the experience we had. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere that actually cares about the quality of its food and service.

5 Stars for GREAT natural wine, tinned fish, amazing bites and pantry, and a very comfortable/vibey…read moreatmosphere. I'd heard about Magie for a while from friends in the natural wine scene in Orlando and had to visit while in town. There is convenient (although somewhat limited) parking just to the side of the building, and entering feels like you just entered your cool friend's house. We almost sat inside on a couple of sofas, but opted to brave the humid Miami heat on the back porch/terrace since they were playing the World Cup game on a projection screen. The back is huge and has several sitting areas, including on an elevated porch with fans, as well as couches and bistro tables set up on the pavers down below. There is foliage everywhere and you feel transported (you'd have no clue this business was on a busy road). We got a couple of bottles of wine from their fridges, along with a smattering of shareable dishes from the kitchen (ordered inside). Everything was delightful and we were loving life (again- even in the humid summer heat!). I'd definitely return and enjoy the interior next time. Love a good wine and nosh spot and this is solidly at the top of my list when visiting Miami!

When we went on a Saturday, the music was just too loud and the environment was a bit overstimulating. The servers and the people helping you at the front are very friendly and willing to answer questions. The Magie plate option was my favorite, with the added pickles, bread etc being so tasty on the charcuterie board. I do wish they had more wine by the glass options instead of getting a whole bottle because sometimes that's not what you really want. The inside is decorated very nicely, but during busier times you might struggle to find an open table or seat as groups of just two can take up entire couch areas, and there is not much regulation of this. There is a nice outdoor area, but in rainny Miami you don't have as many opportunities to use it.

Whatever happened since then--new ownership, a bad night, a kitchen that forgot it was open--it was a complete collapse. I walked in at 5:45 p.m., not opening or closing time. The room looked half-abandoned. Decorations were only partly put up; the rest were dumped around like someone had given up mid-job. TVs sat dark with error screens. The pizza oven was off and covered. That should have been the warning. I ordered pizza anyway. They fired the oven after I ordered. What came out was the worst thing I've been served here. The crust was doughy. The chorizo was room temperature and clearly thrown on after the pie left the oven. No check-in from the waiter while I sat with it. When it was obvious I was done, she came back to upsell dessert. I said no and told her the food was horrible. No apology. No offer to fix it. Just silence at the register. Twenty-plus good visits don't buy this. I won't be back.
