We Tried this new place for us last night and the bartender completely ruined the experience. He was extremely rude. From the moment we sat down, the guy looked annoyed that we were there. Zero greeting, zero eye contact. We waited almost 10 minutes just to get acknowledged while he was chatting with another customers at the other end of the bar. When he finally took our order, he barely listened. I asked for a classic Old Fashioned and he brought me something that tasted like watered-down whiskey with too much bitters and a random orange slice thrown in. My friend's whiskey sour was unbalanced -- definitely not worth the $18 price tag. I politely mentioned to recommend us another drinks options he just shrugged and said "we don't have that" Not offer another choice or an apology. The drinks were mediocre at best, but his attitude made it worse. He ignored us most of the night and acted annoyed every time we ordered. Zero professionalism. Stopped here for happy hour on our way home from work. Only a few people sitting at the bar. The bartender acted like he really didn't want to be there. The ambiance was not inviting. Their seating is all broken (see images) and shouldn't look 40 years old, especially after such a recent renovation AND inKind capital. Service was a 5 out of 10. We used to go to the iconic Fox's for years and years and loved it! I found out Randy Alonso/Lost Boy group bought it and canceled my res at Beauty and the Butcher to go there instead b4 the Candlelight Cold Play & Imagine Dragons Concert at the Collonade. Unfortunately was a big mistake. My Old Fashion was blah. Ordered an "extra hot" french onion soup that came tepid so had to redo but 2nd attempt was only slightly hotter. Bartender, Matt, suggested the "most popular dish of steak tips" that arrived cold and so overcooked I couldn't eat them. Worse they had no seasoning/flavor even though they were served w a smidge of blue cheese even the bread they were served on was barely toasted and plain/no seasoning. No salt and pepper were offered and since Matt was alone on a Friday HH that wasn't very busy but was starting to pick up, I couldn't get his attention to do anything about them or the tasteless sautéed mushrooms?? The bites have allows been good at Lost Boy so I was expecting bare minimum that quality or some tradition to the essence of the Old Fox's. Tried to call and wave down Matt several times to pay bill and when I finally went into cheerleader mode he came over and asked if I wanted a ToGo box bc he saw I ate nothing. I replied, "Hell no! It was awful and so overcooked it was inedible!" He handed me my checked and bussed the plates away....no apologies, no check adjustment, just duck and run. Needless to say, won't be back anytime soon. Im always willing to give a place a second chance if I hear that the kitchen has vastly improved. This was my first time at Fox's Lounge and I must say...it's a vibe! I had such a wonderful time with a friend. It's a great spot to have a couple of cocktails and chit chat. We came on a Tuesday, it wasn't too packed. We got a great seat at the bar. It's known to be the darkest bar in Miami since 1946! They used to have a liquor store on the side, there's still a little window where people would order alcohol from, which is pretty cool if you ask me. I love that it's been open for such a long time. I can't even imagine all the memories people have created here. Definitely will be back once again. I truly enjoyed the Pornstar Martini, it has a passionfruit essence to it and a bit of lime as well. This cocktail was very refreshing and easy to sip. Another cocktail I tried was the espresso martini. It was good, strong imo but my friend thought otherwise. I wish it had real espresso in it, the use cold brew instead. I really liked the old school atmosphere and the music. The service was good. The food was mediocre. The onion soup was made with onions that went way past caramelized into burnt territory. The prime rib I went for was nothing special and at the price for the size I won't be going back for food, maybe for the bar. read more

I started going to Fox's 25 years ago and was a regular for years before it closed. Stopped by for dinner last night and it was fantastic. Somehow it's the same but better (a pool table!!). It's roomier but still intimate. And then, of course, the awesome dark David Lynch vibe is not only back, but even more atmospheric. If you're looking to grab a bite instead of a drink, their French Dip is still great, but the fries now are better than old Fox's. The service has always been solid, and this visit was no different. Was greeted by a friendly bartender and then a gentleman waiter named Ali who did not mind seating me earlier than my global dining Resy was for. Friendly, polite and conversational. Enjoyed our interactions. Ordered an old fashioned which he mentioned was a little sweeter than traditional ones. It was delicious. Had the filet mignon, peppercorn sauce. Love a good after dinner drink here! It was pretty busy for a Friday night, but we were able to get a seat near the bar and the service was great. I ordered an espresso martini which was delicious with not too much cream in it as well as a old-fashioned. Wow. Sign me up for $7 happy hour martinis and dimly lit vibes all day. Back in the day I knew Fox's to be a staple bar for adults. Now that I am an adult, who enjoys a solid cocktail and chill place to enjoy said cocktail, the new and improved Fox's is the place for me. There are absolutely no window's here. Not one. So expect like old school bar vibes. No frills, just a spot to grab a drink and enjoy the 1950s vibes here. Legit, this bar had been open since 1946 and was recently redone by the folks of Lost Boy, so you know the drinks are going to be good. I did not eat, but I did spy a couple living their best lives enjoying massive steak, baked potato, and what looked like a peanut butter pie. Happy hour is every day, which is an important thing to note. On Thursday nights, they serve prime rib. Honestly, in a sea of newness that is Miami, a bit of old school, no-frills cool is so refreshing. Can't wait to go back and try the food. read more

Giving Fox's a 4 star: They get a 5 star for drinks and the old Fox's vibe (and for a clandestine rendezvous). DJ was great and as the night went on, lights got even dimmer and the music louder, like one would expect. However, only 3 star for food. The two filet mignon tidbit orders were both loaded with gristle and were truly awful; mozzarella marinara was subpar; on the positive side, truffle fries were far above average. Service was average with a 20% automatic tip included. Might come back and try some other food some day as the vibe is pure Fox's (and that's a good thing!) Be wary of all the glowing 5 star reviews on Yelp from people who only have reviewed this establishment and don't even have a profile pic. Came this past Friday and would never return. This is a dive bar trying to be bougie. Layout is awkward and boxy & makes no sense. Music is so low you can barely hear it and nothing playing was good. The main room is small and stools at bar are way too big and wide so only 8 people can sit at bar and there is no where to just stand at or near the bar & enjoy a drink Even though it was no where near full there was nowhere to sit at the bar so we sat at a booth as a bartender instructed us to do and after ordering our drinks from a server, the server comes back 10 minutes later and tells us there is a wait list for the tables of an hour to an hour and a half and we have to get up. She couldn't even find us a place to stand and enjoy our drinks so we cancelled and left. Not sure why anyone would wait an hour plus to eat crappy sports bar food at a place with no ambiance or music. If I am going to a dive bar it is going to be somewhere that it is easy to sit or stand and enjoy my drink and the music. If I am going to wait an hour or more it would never be at this place. Cozy little spot to meet up for a quick girls night out, friend meet up or date! The place has very low lighting creating a very cozy and comfortable place. The dimmed lighting helps create a sexy mysterious atmosphere. They have a bar and some booths to sit at! I'm the back there are more tables and some of them are in very intimate spots throughout the lounge... I defined recommend the place as a cool, sit down, hang out lounge. I don't know about their drinks because I do t consume alcohol so can't help you there...but I'm sure they have the regular selection.. I have tried their French Onion Soup and French fries ( I guess I was feeling French that night), both good dishes! My husband and I went to Foxes for the first time. The place is cozy with dim lighting and red upholstered booths. We ordered a couple of beers. Then two onion soups, which were really outstanding. Then we ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and the Reuben sandwich to try both. One with onion rings the other with fries. The Reuben was better than the grilled cheese. By then we were full and asked for the check. We were surprised to see a 20% tip automatically added to our check. It's not like we were a large party requiring a lot of attention. In fact, my husband had to wave the server down to get water a couple of times. We usually tip well, but I don't appreciate it being added to the check. We stopped by Fox's for some drinks before going to dinner at Noe next door. The menu is pretty simple, classic drinks, nothing creative. I had an aviation, which was perfect. Same with the Martini (they even gave us a side cup with the extra martini). It's dark, no windows, but sort of a vibe after a drink or two. read more
