My friend and I came here because we wanted to try their Miami Spice lunch. Finding parking was difficult. We'd never been to this mall before. There is valet parking for $25. If I'd known that the parking lot was 90% valet/reserved, I would've valeted my car. The lot is $3 an hour. As we drove up the levels everything was marked "valet" or "reserved". As we finally reached the fourth floor we found spots that were not marked, so we parked and went in. The level also had a sign indicating that there were 35 available parking spots. Unfortunately the entire fourth floor is reserved for valet! After paying $6 for parking (because we went over an hour by 5 minutes), we then had to pay $65 to get a boot off of our car! Back to the restaurant. We walked out of the garage, and were quite turned around. It was raining, so we were trying to stay under the covering. One of the many restaurants in the mall had the walk way blocked off for some reason. Everyone had to either walk out into the rain in order to get by, or try to step over the ropes. I unlocked the rope to walk through. I'm not sure why the other restaurant would be blocking the walkway for everyone. It wasn't a reserved space or anything. But that's another issue for the mall management. We were sat immediately. The restaurant was fairly empty. Maybe 3 other tables. From the Miami Spice menu I ordered the tortilla soup, the enchiladas suiza, and the churros. My friend ordered the tuna tartar tostada, the rib eye tacos, and the churros. Our waiter, Jacob, was very funny, and very nice. He brought out a platter of chips, salsas and refried beans. The green salsa was very spicy, as he warned us. But, they were all very good. Our appetizers were excellent! I LOVED my soup. It had a little kick to it. The soup was vegetarian- no chicken in it. The tortillas had obviously been added just before serving, as they were nice and crunchy. I tried my friend's tuna and it was SO good! They do a great job of seasoning everything. We were almost full by the time our entrees came out. The chicken enchiladas suiza were delicious! Some of the best I've ever had! Absolutely amazing! The order comes with three. I was only able to eat one, since I had filled up on everything else. My friend's order came with two tacos. I don't think she had even one of them. We asked for to-go boxes for our entrees and desserts. Jacob informed us that unfortunately they were out of churros. I got the flan instead and my friend got Tres leches. Jacob brought our things to go, but for some reason he didn't bring the check or ask us if we wanted the check at that time. This caused us to wait, and go over our hour in the parking lot, by just a few minutes, causing the fee to be double. But that was nothing compared to arriving to our car with a note and boot in it. I loved the restaurant, but because of the predatory practices of the parking lot, I don't know if I'll ever go back. The parking lot is not well labeled- it's hard to find, and then even harder to actually find a spot. I guarantee that people get boots on their cars SEVERAL times a day! Not because people are trying to get away with something, but because the lot is not well labeled and they've simply made a mistake. read more

Great food at reasonable prices. Big-ish space that would be great for a party or corporate event. Lots in the menu to choose from. The tacos were on the small side but the pork belly ones were very tasty. Corn ribs were very good. They offer complimentary housemade chips and salsa which were good. read more

(1/5) Disappointing experience. The chicken quesadillas and mushroom tacos were under-seasoned -- no salt, no spice -- and everything was soaked in oil. We asked the kitchen to remake the quesadillas; they still came out with no salt. Service was a letdown -- our server never checked back or apologized, and we had to wave someone down for attention. We flagged the issue to the manager but got no apology or acknowledgment. Loud birthday party music made it hard to even enjoy the meal. The starters were the one saving grace. read more

I visited Cantina Leon yesterday with an 8:00 PM reservation and was excited to try the restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience fell below expectations. After being seated, we were not greeted by our server until around 8:30 PM. During that time, we repeatedly had to ask for water and for basic starters like chips and salsa. Once we placed our order, the service issues continued. Food arrived at the table, but we frequently had to ask for silverware and clean plates. Some dishes were also forgotten and had to be requested multiple times. Overall, we left disappointed. The food may have potential, but the level of service significantly impacted our experience. I hope management can address these issues and turn things around, as the Plaza would benefit from having strong, reliable restaurants that locals can support. read more

Not sure why this place had some negative reviews. I tried it anyway and am glad I did. Cassidy waited on me outside and recommended the perfect dish for me--and I was lucky, as it was "taco Tuesday" and I got an extra taco. The cochinita pibil tacos were excellent. read more

Their espresso martinis are absolutely delicious. Smooth, flavorful, and the perfect pick me up for a night out. I've also tried their margaritas, and they're just as amazing. Whether you're in the mood for a cocktail with a kick or a classic margarita, they do both exceptionally well. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and always a fun experience! I even had a bartender go out of their way to make a sangria for my co worker even though they didn't have it in their menu. read more

We were excited to try a New Mexican restaurant in the gables. Location is convenient and other restaurants in the complex have been good. Unfortunately the Cantina Leon is probably the worst food and service I have experienced in a WHILE ! The restaurant had a birthday party upstairs w. DJ. I enjoy good music and it's ok if it's a little loud but the sound level in the restaurant was giving E11even a run for its money. We couldn't hear each other. The appetizers were ok but the main course was cooked by a 5 year old w the help of a family dog. Hard to screw up tacos but they did. The shell was uncooked and soaked in oil. The mushrooms did not even have salt for that other seasonings. Our friends quesadillas came out uncooked. He asked them to redo and the server without apology grabbed the plate and 25 mins later brought back a plate that was fit 'kitchen nightmares' The server was nice enough until the quesadillas were sent back and then He couldn't even care to check for water. Manager (or he said so at least) made sure he told us he took off quesadillas. Thanks for not charging our friend for sitting for his meal for 2 hrs and not eating anything but chips for dinner ! Btw our bill of 3 people roughly $200. No exaggeration you can get better Mexican food at Taco Bell...and you know that's not Mexican food. Beautiful restaurant in a great location. The service was great too and our server was attentive and friendly. The food however wasn't good. We had the queso fundido and guacamole as starters and we weren't impressed with the queso at all. They served us a small cup of corn chips that weren't good either to have with the queso. As entrees, we ordered tacos and quesadillas. Neither dish had any sort of flavor at all. It was bland and tasteless and it wasn't cheap. Beautiful venue but terrible food. When we entered it was so incredibly hot outside we asked if they could close the door the manager said no because it was going to appear like they were closed. (There is a hostess outside with her stand) but ok we sat down and immediately noticed whoever was cleaning the forks and knives at the back of the restaurant was making so many rattling noises that was basically what we heard the entire time. Water was very warm. Not room temperature but warm. I made it very clear for 2 of the dishes we did not want any sauce and the waiter brought both dishes with sauce and didn't even care to fix it or say anything even tho I told him hey we didn't want sauce. tacos are not worth the price .. oh and when they came out with our dishes they brought it out on a silver tray with heels and it was making a super loud sound everytime it hit the grout from the kitchen to the table! Our experience in this place was not good especially when it's a brand new spot. The service was weak, and the food had no flavor and No sazón. I expected to be amazing. I had the taco birria and it had no flavor My girlfriend had the chicken quesadilla and the chicken had no flavor. Do these cooks have an overseer like a chef or a sous chef That's tasting the food. Because if they don't, they need one. Also, we had two margaritas that were OK because they were super overpriced. This place needs help. read more
