This review is based on the Miami Spice menu (Thursday Dinner - $95). I felt this place is overhyped. From the Miami Spice menu, I ordered shrimp, filet (medium rare; since it is a steakhouse), and the coconut flan. The only reason this review is a 3-star is because of the coconut flan and Jacob (our server). The shrimp and steak were alright. The shrimps are large in size, but there was nothing special about them. I also typically like cocktail sauce, but I wasn't a fan of this one. The steak was eh. I felt it was a bit dry. The mashed potatoes were good. So, I was disappointed to see when I got my go-to bag, they didn't include the mashed potatoes. They just gave me my leftover steak. The coconut flan was this place's saving grace. The flan was smooth and the coconut was a perfect mix and nice crunch. My friend also loved the bread and butter, but I didn't try anything. I also ordered the Havana Special for a drink, and again, it was alright. Our server (Jacob) was wonderful and friendly. He definitely was a nice part to the experience. We also sat on the patio which is covered, and we did have a fan keeping us cool which was nice during these humid September days. After having such a great meal at Beauty and the Butcher (which is right around the corner), I expected Daniel's to deliver, and it just fell short for me. At Beauty, I ordered from their full menu and paid about the same amount as I did for the Miami Spice menu at Daniel's. Also, if you park in the garage, the walk over is not the smoothest transition. I decided to try Daniel's Miami Spice brunch menu, and it was pretty packed when I went on a Sunday! We tried the ceviche, which was really good. I'm honestly not a big ceviche girl, but I really enjoyed this one! For our main dishes, we got the burger and the red snapper. The burger was really, and so were the fries. We ordered it medium and it came out a little more cooked than I would have liked, but it was still juicy, flavorful, and a really good portion. I wasn't too crazy about the red snapper. I felt like the fish itself was a little dry and overcooked, so that dish didn't really win me over. For dessert, we had the vanilla soft serve, which was simple but really good. I hate to sound cliche but the truth is that it would be so much easier to write about what didn't go well versus what went well, since NOT one thing was wrong! The restaurant exceeded my expectations. Service was elite. Sommelier was very patient with our group and assisted us in selecting the best champagne. Second time here and second time I've enjoyed every single bite! We skipped the Miami Spice menu at $95 and rather go rogue on the regular menu and order exactly what we want. No regrets. Started with the yellowfin tuna tartare which had pinenuts, lemon oil, calabrian chili which brought a little heat but was perfectly balanced. Excellent start. Then we shared the 45 day dry aged prime cowboy ribeye, 22 ounces. It had such a deep flavor , perfect crust and gone embarrassing fast. Same with the sides. We got the lunch pre fixe and tried the steak and the vodka pasta, with the strawberry gazpacho and burrata appetizers and the lemon sorbet and chocolate soft serve for dessert. The lemon sorbet was very good but the chocolate soft serve was a miss. We tried to get a miami spice reservation but our schedules didn't match up with availability so we decided to go early on Friday for happy hour. They have valet parking out front but also plenty of street parking. We beelined to the bar but spoiler alert it was packed. We somehow managed to snag a standing table in a corner and were able to enjoy the happy hour. First, the prices are great. I was pleasantly surprised to find the drink deals and good food options. Two small, stuffed and succulent pastries served with a spicy sriracha aioli - I highly recommend these. For entree I ordered the ever famous Steak & Eggs, which upon receipt feels like it may not be filling but don't let the lack of carbs fool you. The steak is cooked exactly to order and seasoned to perfection. Hands down, the best steak I've had here in Miami. The egg on top is a great touch, and the gravy at the bottom explodes with flavor. This dish is small, but the flavor journey it takes you on (and the fact that it's all protein) delights the senses in a way to keep you thoroughly satisfied. For dessert, I opted for the Ricotta Zeppoli, which was surprisingly amazing. If you can imagine a much denser, softer, sweeter type of doughnut, this is it. It is a stunning restaurant with a lively atomsphere and they are pumping a great playlist (great touch, extra points for playing Peter Gabriel). The host checking us in was a rude man, but our server Andres was very nice. They sat us near the kitchen and near a door, we liked the spot, but kind of annoying how the waiter and the food runner were having a loud conversation near our table as we were eating.. We started with the Sullivan Street soughdough bread and wedge salad. We loved the bread, instead of butter they used a whipped ricotta with honey. So good! Our server cut up the wedge for us. The thick chunks of bacon and crispy onions were a nice touch. We took our server's recommendation and ordered the cowboy ribeye. It was very delicious, but came with a lot of fat. The less expensive australian wagyu was MUCH better, it melted in your mouth and came with a delicious chimmichuri sauce. It was sooo good i wish we had two of those instead of the ribeye. Moving onto the sides. We had the twice baked potato, corn pudding and vodka pasta. All were very good but the baked potato and pasta were my favorites. They came out lukewarm i wish they were a little hotter. I can confidently say this is probably my favorite restaurant I've been to in my 20 years of living in Miami. The service was absolutely the best I've ever experienced--I wanted to come back immediately before I even left. I'm not gonna lie. I kept seeing all the social media hype for the Daniel's coral gables location and thought it wouldn't be that great. But I can comfortably say that this is a great steakhouse in miami. Keep in mind that this is not a cheap eats or mid tier priced steakhouse. They have hedges on the patio so it's more private. Then the food, I got the 16oz prime NY strip and it was perfectly cooked. I'm not a truffle guy but I added the truffle butter and it was well worth it. My wife got the hangar steak which is wagyu. Very tender and juicy steak We also got the bread service with was a great starting app. Comes with a delicious honey better. My wife got the wedge salad which we had chopped and it was great. Good amount of bacon and tasted perfect I did get the oyster Rockefeller which for the price I probably would not get again because it's only 4 small oysters. For drinks we got a dirty Martina which was excellent. I like that the serve you a carafe that sits in the ice. There is another well know steak place like Daniel's in miami where they out ice in the carafe which waters down the drinks. I got the old fashioned and it was great. Had a nice apple flavor to it and would 109% get again. Both drinks were at the $20 range which is standard in miami Lastly was the mushrooms side. They were tasty but probably a one time try for us. But if you like Mushrooms it was excellent. Last, we originally ordered a cookie desert with ice cream. But the manager stopped by to talk to us and once he heard that it was our first time he came back with the soft serve which was MASSIVE. Made me feel like a kid again. Would get both next time. Overall, the service was great and attentive. For example, I'm sitting there with my napkin and without even asking the server comes over takes the one I have and replaces it a new one. We had a great time at Daniel's! My friends and I went for Miami spice and the food, drinks and ambiance didn't disappoint. Every time I eat here everything is just great. The service, the food, the experience. Waiters are so attentive and helpful when picking out meat. Food-wise, the wedge salad is a must. It's my mother's favorite, and even I (that doesn't like wedge normally) like it. the other salad which I think is caesar with pesto you can pass on but I strongly recommend the wedge. Normally we get a meat to share and the most recent time we tried two cuts. Both were wonderful. The sides though are my favorite. I can't express enough how good the double baked potato is. The first time I ate it I didn't know what to expect. turns out you can expect greatness. The creamed spinach is good, the mushrooms are pretty good, and honestly from what I've tried, the only one that's just okay is the lobster Mac and cheese. I didn't appreciate too much flavor in it. They make a great martini and it's fun because it comes kind of deconstructed and you make it yourself. Nice ambiance and always a solid place to come back. read more

Andres and Ramon were wonderful and attentive to every detail aka the dynamic duo! My hubby and I went to celebrate our anniversary and everything was top tier. Food was spot on but a downside to it was the vodka pasta was cold compared to the lobster mac and cheese and the fries wasn't something i would get again. The setting was great for date night and group events. able to chit chat with one another and yet hear some music in the background. definitely a spot to come back to for any special occasions or a treat yourself type of spot. read more

Had a great experience at Daniel's Miami! From the moment we sat down, our waiter was friendly, funny, and made the whole meal even more enjoyable. The service felt relaxed but attentive, which always makes a difference. We all ordered steak, and every plate came out perfectly cooked--juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. You can really tell they take pride in their food. Overall, great vibes, great service, and amazing steak. Definitely a spot I'd come back to and recommend to others. read more
