After strolling through the beautiful streets of coconut grove and catching their lunch specials menu, I felt inclined to give it a shot. And let me just say, I truly think god was on my side that day, because their lunch special entraña for just $22 is to this day one of my favorite iterations of skirt steak in the city. Wether you go for the side mashed potatoes or salad, I can assure you as simple side dishes as they may be, at Loretta's they will be one of the best iterations of said dishes you will ever try (yes, I am even talking about the salad, it was dressed to godly perfection). The service is also top-notch and as friendly as you can find in Miami. Wether it's the entraña or any other items on their lunch menu, or if you even catch yourself in the area later at night and wanting to catch some dinner, Loretta is always going to be an Argentinian delight.
Everyone here knows I love cows, medium well. I don't want to hear my plate moo. We stopped this afternoon for their Miami Spice brunch this Sunday brunch while also exploring the Grove. After parking at a nearby overpriced self parking private lot, we stopped inside. We did have to reschedule our reservation by one hour and switched from terrace dining to indoors because of the heat. However, the inside table we got was close enough to the door that every time it opened, we were hit with the blast of South Florida summer weather we were trying to minimize by sitting indoors. We were informed when ordering that their Miami Spice dessert menu was by 3pm out of two items, so we were down to just flan which was actually pretty good. I mentioned in my Resy reservation that it was a birthday celebration, and reminded our server of this. He said they'd bring a menu and the birthday dessert would be on the house. While they did bring a candle on her flan, there was no menu brought out and no dessert on the house. Still, foodwise it was (5/5). For the appetizer course we tried both the provolone sticks and burrata & prosciutto options. The provolone sticks were served with a slightly sweet marinara sauce with real tomatoes and a perfectly thin breading. Likewise, the burrata was creamy cool, and a dash of balsamic with thinly sliced prosciutto (4/5) Where the rating went down for me was my steak & eggs main course. The potatoes were cubed pieces, and eggs a little past over easy but still decent. However, my steak was a barely past medium (circle back to my joke at the beginning). I mentioned this to my server, and while my steak was heated a little more it was still a little pink for my liking. (3/5).
I came here on a date night with my husband while enjoying a weekend in Miami and Loretta and the Butcher did not disappoint. He is a huge fan of Argentinian food and so when looking up Argentinian restaurants, this one was a must. We made reservations and when we showed up, we were quickly seated, which is always a good sign. This restaurant is located in Coconut Grove, which is absolutely beautiful and so it was great to people watch while taking in the local environment. We ordered steak with the side of fries and it was to die for. I was not super hungry, and so we decided to share, but looking forward to our next adventure that brings us to Loretta and the Butcher. I will note that this is a cute family friendly restaurant and we did see small and large groups being seated it was such a pleasant environment.
Loretta & the Butcher is a cozy Argentine restaurant in the heart of Coconut Grove, perfect for a relaxed yet flavorful dining experience. We started with a bottle of their house sangria, which was fresh, fruity, and perfectly balanced. For the main course, my husband ordered the vacío and I had the ribeye--both cuts were grilled to perfection, tender, and full of rich flavor. Each dish came with creamy mashed potatoes and a crisp house salad, making for a satisfying and well-rounded meal. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Loretta & the Butcher is a great spot for anyone craving authentic Argentine cuisine in a relaxed, neighborhood setting. We'll definitely be back. My only complaints were that the walkway to the bathroom interferes with the kitchen traffic. Also, one of the bathrooms had a flush handle that was working but was dangling.
Walked up to this gem and was reading the outside menu and the host, very friendly, approached us and helped us by suggesting a few dishes, so we decided to try it. It's a small, quaint restaurant with outside seating as well. Inside has a few tables, nice and cozy. The food was delicious . It was our 1st time at an Argentina restaurant. We ordered the chicken Milanesa dish. We both enjoyed the taste. Coated perfectly. They also have really good warm dinner rolls with blue cheese and the blue cheese wasn't overpowering, just right. The service was on point. From the host to the server, they both did an amazing job.
Cute little Argentinian spot tucked into Coconut Grove and absolutely worth the stop. We ordered the steak and the chicken milanesa and both breaded to golden perfection and packed with flavor. Comfort food done right. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive without hovering. If you're in the area and craving something satisfying, put this place on your list.
Stopped here to try a couple of sandwiches which are highly regarded in the reviews...The burger and steak sandwich. The burger was ok but I felt it was lacking flavor. Steak sandwich was a bit chewy for my taste so I think I preferred the burger. Fries were fresh and crisp. Service was fast and pleasant. Cool place if you want to sit outside and enjoy the weather but, although not bad, I'm not sure I'll return as there are too many other choices in the area.
Overall a great experience. We stopped in before heading home and grabbed a bite for lunch. I had the sausage burger and it was excellent. Great flavor and the sauce, bun, and of course meat were delicious. I also had the mashed potatoes as the side which had great flavor. My husband had their signature burger with fries. It was a great burger, good flavor and same bun. He had their fries as the side and they were really good: crunch, battered, and delicious. Fortunately we were there before the rush so the service was fast and attentive and we ended up being seated inside which was quaint and nicely decorated. Highly recommend this place.
This spot is so charming! It's a little Argentinian place in the heart of the Grove. You'll find milanesas, several cuts of steak, fish, and Italian dishes. The steak I had was so perfectly cooked. It was the best steak I've had in a long time. The empanadas were great too. The owner told me they get some of their meat directly from Argentina!
Our waiter was very attentive and the atmosphere was great. We ordered the skirt steak and the rib eye which were both good but both needed extra salt. I really enjoyed the chimichurri that came with it. The mashed potatoes were good but nothing too special. Honorable mention to the mozzarella sticks which had a great cheese pull, nice crisp, and a wonderful creamy marinara sauce to go with it.
Centrally located in Coconut Grove, the service was spectacular, the food fresh with a nice ambiance. Our party of four asked for brunch with outside seating, and we were accommodated immediately. We brought our two small pups and they were taken care of by our server with water bowls without our asking which was nice. The only disappointment was the steak too tough. All the other entrees were perfect and so was our mimosas :)
Stopped in here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised!! Me and my family got a variety of dishes from the risotto to steak! All of it was very good!! Our server was very nice and the food came out fast! We went on a Sunday night with no reservation and were fine! Inside was very clean!
The food was very good. The fried cheese sticks were AMAZING. Service was a little slow but very nice. The dinning room was small but so pretty. They have an outside patio as well.

Loved watching the World Cup Final here, even though I was the lone person cheering for España (¡HOORAY! ). The food was fantastic as always, and the sangria was delicious and tasted genuinely authentic. A special shoutout to our waiter, Eduardo, who was wonderful. He and my dad instantly bonded over being Costa Rican, and it made the experience feel even more welcoming and personal. The only disappointment was dessert. The pavlova sounded much more exciting than it actually was. It was overwhelmingly sweet, and everything on the plate (the vanilla ice cream, vanilla pavlova, and vanilla whipped cream) had nearly the same flavor, color, and texture. It ended up feeling very one-note and lacked the contrast and freshness that makes a great pavlova memorable. Overall, I'll keep coming back again and again. The food is excellent, the service is warm, and it's just as perfect for watching a match as it is for a great meal. Skip the pavlova, but absolutely don't skip this place. read more
Went to this Argentinian for the first time on a friday. We were a party of 4 with no reservation around 7 p.m. There was no wait but only available seats were outside. The service was exceptional and all the servers were attentive, constantly providing water which is a plus! We ordered the chorizo and blood sausage morcilla for an appetizer. I was skeptical about the blood sausage but WOW, it was delicious. The house bread, not pictured, was so good. It was served with a blue cheese spread. Had a delicious dinner here on their lovely covered patio. Everything was really delicious, especially the skirt steak and chimichurri sauce. They offer bread service, but I was taken aback when the dipping sauce was a blue cheese spread and not butter. It was quite interesting tasting, but not terrible either (I just wish they told us before I got the flavor shock). The service was very attentive and our food came out promptly. We also tried their tortellini Aurora pasta dish which was very good. The only thing I probably wouldn't order again would be the mushroom dip. It was just so much food and so heavy/greasy. Maybe if we had a large group of 4 people to share it would make sense, but just for two people I would rather have gotten something else. read more

The ambiance is very cute!! I loved coming here for a girls lunch out. People watching is nice and its comfortable for how small the restaurant is. The service was also wonderful. Our server was amazing and he was Argentinian which was nice and authentic haha. The food was pretty good! The reason why I'm rating this 3 stars is because the outside of the steak did taste kind of burnt unfortunately. It was kind of over cooked for my taste. The inside was nice, I did ask for medium rare. The fries were very good and well seasoned. I just wish I could taste the actual flavor of their steak since the burnt outside kind of tainted it! Overall it's a nice place to come for a lunch. read more

Came here for lunch on a weekday. It was a nice day out so we sat outside. Our server, Fabian, did a great job. He was attentive and friendly and provided good recommendations. The food was good and the portions were massive. Here's what we tried - Polpetta - Giant meatball appetizer with melted cheese at the center. This was very flavorful. We really enjoyed it but could only eat a few bites between the two of us. It made an excellent late night snack for later. 4/5 ($25) Loretta's Burger - Prime beef, provolone cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, garlic aioli spread, brioche bun. A decent burger. Very nice size. Flavor was okay, it didn't wow me, The leftovers tasted a bit better. 3.5/5 ($23) My gf had ossobuco which was gigantic and pretty tasty. We also had coffees which were good. Overall, this was a nice spot with good quality protein and very generous portions. I would definitely come back to explore more of their menu. read more

Sunday brunch was excellent. We got the brunch parrillada and it was plenty of food to share. The tortilla was incredible as well filled with ham. The French toast was to die for as it was stuffed with Nutella. Sangria was great and the server kept on pouring it. Service was attentive. Overall a disappointment with extremely over salted dishes and so-so flavor. Food: Total disappointment. We had a variety of appetizers, and they were all mediocre and over salted. For example, the calamari tasted a bit off and was very salty. The cauliflower was hyper salted. For the main dish, I had a milanesa, a fried cutlet like a schnitzel. It was barely edible, flavorless, and overly salted. Service: Good service, a little slow at times but nice staff Overall cleanliness: above average Misc: check in on Yelp for a free glass of wine, and the free wine was good! read more

Loretta and the Butcher is an absolute gem in Coconut Grove. From the moment you walk in, the service is incredibly friendly and welcoming--you really feel taken care of. The food is outstanding: authentic, delicious, and full of that unmistakable Argentinian flavor. Perfectly cooked meats, classic dishes done right, and quality you can taste in every bite. If you're craving true Argentinian cuisine, this place is a must in Coconut Grove. Highly recommended! read more

Loved my experience here. Started with warm bread and a phenomenal blue cheese spread- so delicious. Still dreaming about it. The provoleta with chorizo wasn't my favorite but it was fine. Our table each ordered a different milanesa- four cheese, mushroom, burrata tomato sauce, and prosciutto arugula. A classic Milanesa is my favorite so the prosciutto Arbulus was nearest to that and thus, my preference. I could have done without the four cheese milanesa - the blue cheese flavor is too strong for the milanesa in my opinion. The mushroom one was different, unique, and cheesy! I liked it. The burrata one was delicious! Definitely recommend. Service was slow. I ran out of water several times, and the food took a long time. Our server had a great attitude though and was very honest and knowledgeable about the menu. They also let us stay at our table a while after without rushing us out, and that was nice of them. I would go back, but I'm in no rush. read more

Gotta give this place a five star. We met the owner of Johnny Papagallo at a Yelp event and he suggested we try out Lolita the butcher and we were not disappointed! First, the space itself is very nice. In the heart of coconut grove with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I do suggest you make reservations as this is a popular spot that fills up quickly. The service was fantastic as well. Most restaurants have one server handling your table but here you could tell it was a team effort by the entire staff to take care of their guests. We saw multiple times where other wait staff would assist guests when needed which was great. Last but not least was the food. I added pictures of my steak and fries but we loved The provoleta with chorizo. This should be one of your first options as an appetizer. The ojo de bife was cooked perfectly and was a good size for the price. I got the fries with garlic and Parmesan as well which was delicious. Overall, Lolita is a great place if you want to enjoy a nice Steak with great service. I will 100% come back here again. And check out there happy hour specials because they are great! read more

Came here to celebrate my birthday dinner and it was a wonderful experience. The server we had was on point and she was training someone and let us know right off the bat. We first got some dinner rolls and the sauce it came with was so good!!! I don't know what it was, it was definitely cheesy and creamy and I loved it! For appetizers we ordered the Shitake Alla Carbonara and the Provoleta with added prosciutto. Both were amazing. The Provoleta was nice pull apart cheese and the prosciutto was a great addition to add the salty to the creaminess of it. The mushrooms tasted just like if you were eating a carbonara pasta but with mushrooms! As my entree I ordered the Loretta's burger. I was really excited to try it, unfortunately it was undercooked. I didn't take it back but I was disappointed since I ordered it medium well it was medium rare. I was going to give the restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 for it but I'm sure If I would have told them about it, they would have taken care of it right away so that's on me not them. Overall this place is cute and intimate and I really would love to come back and support them again soon. For dessert we ordered the panna cotta and it was delicious and they sang me happy birthday as well! Overall it was such a pleasant experience I had a great birthday here. read more
Discovered Loretta & The Butcher from a few coworkers that come here regularly. This is probably the best lunch special in the grove. I ordered the milanesa napolitana and it was the best. I've never had milanesa before and I'm glad this was my first time. I ordered mine with fries on the side and I almost ate them all because they were so good. The portion is pretty large, think it would be perfect to share with someone to try other things on the menu. I look forward to visiting again and trying something different! read more

Excellent small restaurant in the heart of the Grove, the vibe is pure Argentinian and if you been to Buenos Aires you'd feel like your back. The origin of the name is an interesting story ( you'll have to ask ). The skirt steak ( Entraña ) has an amazing flavor and it has to be one of the best I've had. Their burgers are really good and the French Fries are pretty unique. Our server was Sophia and she was an excellent host. If you live far from the Grove it's worth your while to make the drive here. read more
