We definitely enjoyed Babette. We decided to come here after looking for new French restaurants, and this popped up. We didn't have reservations, but it was already 9.30 pm, so we decided to try walking in. We were lucky since there was an open table for 2, but I strongly recommend making a reservation before coming here. The restaurant is small, and it fills up quite quickly. The restaurant itself is very cozy and inviting. With dimmed lighting and bottles of wine in a center table, it's quite a beautiful yet simply decorated. The service was attentive and very friendly. Everyone who works there was polite and very knowledgeable about their dishes. Food coming out of the kitchen takes a little more time than normal, but it didn't matter... we had wine and bread. Everything we ordered was delicious, except maybe the apple pie, which was average..... but everything else was perfect. Beet tartare Fennel salad Snapper capers and lemongrass. Sweetbreads, foie gras, aligot Incredible. Definitely enjoyed Babette, and I will recommend you give it a try. BTW... it has a nice wine list.

Another wow! If you are looking for an upscale dining experience, look no further. Came here for our monthly get together where our group pairs a fabulous dinner with different wines, and all I can say is, "WOW"! Fantastic out of this world dining experience!

by Alejandro. Absolutely the best meal I've had all decade in Greater Miami. Their Beet Tartare is the first rational argument for veganism I've ever heard. The Gnocci in Black Truffle Sauce is pure decadence. Not pictured because we wolfed them down were the French Onion Soup and the "Crab Flan." Both were superb.

As a local, I was excited when I walked past La Jolla and noticed a restaurant had opened within! The beautiful interior design and romantic setting led me to immediately book a reservation for my birthday. Given that they are new, there are kinks to still work out but so much potential. Be prepared for small serving sizes for the entrees, and I mean very small but beautiful ambiance. The house focaccia and butter were yummy and a nice touch. The lobster was honestly a laughable portion, literally we all chuckled a little when it arrived. My husband ate it in two, maybe three bites. My own steak dish was also smaller than expected. The chef sent out a complimentary salad which was so full of flavor and also topped the tuna tartare with caviar for us on the house. I was very excited about the basque cheesecake remembering how amazing the cheesecakes I had in Basque Country were. Again, disappointed with the portion but wonderful flavor. I wanted so badly to love it but the portions are so small you tend to leave feeling a bit robbed. Lovely experience though. Nice for a date night or small group.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant with my good friend who had chosen it for us. It's inviting from the outside and just as cozy on the inside. We tried many of the items from the menu. We started out with a Spanish bottle of wine which was so smooth. We had their homemade focaccia and butter which was made with absolute love. We then started out with the crab truffle flan (chawanmushi). This was my friends favorite. The broth was delicious and flavorful. My personal favorite appetizer was the Endives salad. I absolutely loved it and will think about it for days to come. So simple but amazing. For our entrees, we were highly recommended the lamb ragu. My friend chose this while I decided the strip sirloin. The lamb for the ragu is cooked for 8 hours and it was truly amazing. I'm more of a beef lover, so I throughly enjoyed my tender sirloin with its touch of crisp. Very texturally pleasing for me lol it is served with a bit of mash potatoes and a very flavorful sauce/reduction. For dessert we had a fondant type lava cake with a vanilla gelato on top. It was perfectly sweet and a great choice to end the meal with. The service from the very beginning was so lovely and warm and professional. The owners are making sure their guests are happy as well. They have created a very inviting and cozy place that I will look forward to revisiting. P.S. the music playlist is another aspect I loved. It leaves you wondering.. what's coming up next? A surprise for the ears. It's a unique touch that we really appreciated. I regret not getting more pictures.

Every time I was in Miami for ANY reason, I would make sure I stopped by for their delicious breakfast/lunch options and delectable desserts. This was the first place I ever had a quality vegan macaron. The staff and owner were always exceptionally friendly. It was great to see the Coral Gables location expand from a tiny cafe to the expanded restaurant over the years as well. I hope to see a new evolved concept from the owners in the future because this spot will be significantly missed!

I sat down at a table and no one approached me for a couple minutes so I went to the counter and let them know I wanted to place an order and we were attended to shortly thereafter. The employees were nice but everything was just very slow paced and we had to ask for our order items to be brought out instead of being approached at our table. I took a croissant to go for my partner and after one bite, I heard him making a sound of disgust and he pulled a long black hair out of the pastry. He didn't want to finish the rest of it...I don't blame him. That might've been my last visit to L'Artisane.

The madame Croque sandwich was one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had. Dry and flavorless. The eggs Benedict were ok. The highlight of the meal was the steak sandwich. We ordered an overpriced pistachio croissant which was good, but definitely not worth the price. But worse than the croissant was the Easter Egg dessert for $14+. It was tiny and sooo overpriced. I didn't even find it good. We were sat outside, in what looked like an afterthought of a set up. The ambiance was so weird. After the meal my kids wanted to seat inside by the window to watch how pastries were made. The whole bar across the window was dirty and lots of dirty cutlery were left all along. Besides us, no one else was sitting there. The mess had clearly been there for a while. Servers walked by it so many times and no one seemed bother by the dirtiness. Very disappointing.

After losing his job, Michel Romeu entered the ice cream market in 2016 by making small batches of…read moreartisan ice cream. He named the business after his daughter, Melody. Sweet Melody makes all of their ice cream from scratch as well as any baked goods that go into it and toppings. They don't use any artificial colors or flavors. The 16 percent butterfat ice cream is made without egg yolks and can be described as having a rich and dense texture. An egg yolk French base is used for flavors like creme brûlée, key lime pie, and brownie batter. They offer creative signature, weekly, and seasonal flavors. I have enjoyed Sweet Melody ice cream at the Citadel in Little Haiti and at their Kendall location. I was really looking forward to coming to the Coral Gables shop which opened in October of 2022. Interestingly this location didn't open until 5PM. In any case the timing worked out perfectly for us and there is even free parking in the lot behind the store. We were the first ones in Sweet Melody's as they were turning on the lights and by the time we left, there was a crowd behind us. I wanted to visit this location because they have more of a variety of scoops rather than just selling the $12 pints. A single scoop of ice cream is $6.50. After a taste test I decided on the Strawberry Pop Tart but the Krispy Treatz was a close second. The Strawberry Pop Tart is a vanilla ice cream with homemade strawberry pop tarts. I really enjoyed the large chunks of flaky pastry filled with strawberry jam throughout the ice cream. I really wanted my ice cream in a waffle cone but was told that it would be an hour before the machine heated up to make the waffle cones! While I enjoyed my ice cream in a cup my friend bought a few of their pints to go. I ended up getting the Berry White pint along with her haul. Unfortunately my pint had none of the promised raspberry swirl. Sweet Melody's tastes like a care free summer. I love how they generally get the ice cream to mix in ratio just right for my taste. I like a little ice cream holding my sweet treats together. I wish they had all of the pint flavors available as scoops but no bueno. The June special Pina Colada Cake was really calling my name. I also discovered too late the incredible looking BDAY Cakewich made with cake batter ice cream in between slices of cake. Maybe next time.
