    Crab chawamushi

So first of all this is not a brunch place, if you want to come here, just so dinner. The service is great, they actually poured us a welcome champagne glass which was super nice. Now the food is very controversial for me because it's all crafted really nicely with a lot of imagination, but it didn't hit the spot for me, their crab chawamushi is an acquired taste, so is the duck with chocolate sauce.

Great food and overall experience. After an amazing dinner we went to the quasi speak easy upstairs and had an even better time. For you older Miami timers this used to be Le Festival which was the best French Restaurant in Miami back and the day. Babette is on its way to being equally amazing. Come and enjoy the experience.

We definitely enjoyed Babette. We decided to come here after looking for new French restaurants, and this popped up. We didn't have reservations, but it was already 9.30 pm, so we decided to try walking in. We were lucky since there was an open table for 2, but I strongly recommend making a reservation before coming here. The restaurant is small, and it fills up quite quickly. The restaurant itself is very cozy and inviting. With dimmed lighting and bottles of wine in a center table, it's quite a beautiful yet simply decorated. The service was attentive and very friendly. Everyone who works there was polite and very knowledgeable about their dishes. Food coming out of the kitchen takes a little more time than normal, but it didn't matter... we had wine and bread. Everything we ordered was delicious, except maybe the apple pie, which was average..... but everything else was perfect. Beet tartare Fennel salad Snapper capers and lemongrass. Sweetbreads, foie gras, aligot Incredible. Definitely enjoyed Babette, and I will recommend you give it a try. BTW... it has a nice wine list.

Another wow! If you are looking for an upscale dining experience, look no further. Came here for our monthly get together where our group pairs a fabulous dinner with different wines, and all I can say is, "WOW"! Fantastic out of this world dining experience!

by Alejandro. Absolutely the best meal I've had all decade in Greater Miami. Their Beet Tartare is the first rational argument for veganism I've ever heard. The Gnocci in Black Truffle Sauce is pure decadence. Not pictured because we wolfed them down were the French Onion Soup and the "Crab Flan." Both were superb.

As a local, I was excited when I walked past La Jolla and noticed a restaurant had opened within! The beautiful interior design and romantic setting led me to immediately book a reservation for my birthday. Given that they are new, there are kinks to still work out but so much potential. Be prepared for small serving sizes for the entrees, and I mean very small but beautiful ambiance. The house focaccia and butter were yummy and a nice touch. The lobster was honestly a laughable portion, literally we all chuckled a little when it arrived. My husband ate it in two, maybe three bites. My own steak dish was also smaller than expected. The chef sent out a complimentary salad which was so full of flavor and also topped the tuna tartare with caviar for us on the house. I was very excited about the basque cheesecake remembering how amazing the cheesecakes I had in Basque Country were. Again, disappointed with the portion but wonderful flavor. I wanted so badly to love it but the portions are so small you tend to leave feeling a bit robbed. Lovely experience though. Nice for a date night or small group.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant with my good friend who had chosen it for us. It's inviting from the outside and just as cozy on the inside. We tried many of the items from the menu. We started out with a Spanish bottle of wine which was so smooth. We had their homemade focaccia and butter which was made with absolute love. We then started out with the crab truffle flan (chawanmushi). This was my friends favorite. The broth was delicious and flavorful. My personal favorite appetizer was the Endives salad. I absolutely loved it and will think about it for days to come. So simple but amazing. For our entrees, we were highly recommended the lamb ragu. My friend chose this while I decided the strip sirloin. The lamb for the ragu is cooked for 8 hours and it was truly amazing. I'm more of a beef lover, so I throughly enjoyed my tender sirloin with its touch of crisp. Very texturally pleasing for me lol it is served with a bit of mash potatoes and a very flavorful sauce/reduction. For dessert we had a fondant type lava cake with a vanilla gelato on top. It was perfectly sweet and a great choice to end the meal with. The service from the very beginning was so lovely and warm and professional. The owners are making sure their guests are happy as well. They have created a very inviting and cozy place that I will look forward to revisiting. P.S. the music playlist is another aspect I loved. It leaves you wondering.. what's coming up next? A surprise for the ears. It's a unique touch that we really appreciated. I regret not getting more pictures.

The crispy cauliflower appetizer is an absolute must-order, and their warm pita with tzatziki is so fresh and flavorful that I could honestly eat it on its own. My favorite entrée is the salmon with the lemon potatoes--it's cooked perfectly every time, and the lemon potatoes are absolutely divine. To top it all off, their gelato is the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The only thing I miss is their coffee menu. They used to have more coffee options, and I was disappointed to see that they've narrowed it down to just Turkish coffee. I would love to see some of the other coffee drinks make a comeback. Even so, the food is consistently amazing, the atmosphere is beautiful, and Motek is still a place I'll happily recommend to anyone looking for a delicious meal.

For context, I worked in fine dining in New York and Miami for almost 20 years, so I notice the details immediately, hospitality, management presence, the energy of a room. You can usually tell pretty quickly what kind of operation you're dealing with. We were a party of five. I arrived with my four-year-old son and was greeted warmly by the hostess. That warmth ended instantly. Standing directly behind her were two managers in suits blocking the main entrance. Both looked straight at me and my child and said absolutely nothing. No hello, no smile, no acknowledgment. Anyone in hospitality knows that moment sets the tone. As an Arab woman who grew up around a culture where hospitality is everything, it was already a bad sign. We were seated outside and the vibe stayed cold. Unfortunately, the food matched it. We ordered a lot because I genuinely wanted to give the kitchen a fair shot. I grew up eating Lebanese food and what stood out most was the lack of soul. Everything felt flat, like it needed salt, lemon, brightness, that warm Mediterranean seasoning Lebanese food is known for. The tabouli was especially shocking. A $20+ tabouli with no bulgur that was so roughly chopped it was basically whole parsley leaves and slices of onion. Any Lebanese auntie would die at the sight of it. At one point I asked our server if they had harissa or any kind of spicy sauce. She said the only option was Sriracha. In a Lebanese restaurant that charges $18 for a tablespoon of hummus. An Asian chili sauce as the only option. What made it even stranger is that harissa is listed on multiple dishes on the menu, so it clearly exists somewhere in the building. I asked for the Sriracha anyway out of desperation for flavor. It never came. Same with ketchup for my toddler's fries, it took three requests. Throughout the meal I walked around the restaurant several times taking my son to the bathroom, looking around the space, even going upstairs to the lounge. Not a single person acknowledged us. Not a host, not a server, not a manager. The bar is right by the entrance and every time we looked over at the bartender and bar manager, just blank stares. At one point we were clearly standing there confused looking for the bathroom in an empty restaurant and still had to say "Excuse me, where is the bathroom?" Wild. Later I walked up to the bar myself to ask if they carried mezcal. After dinner I went back to order one. Same energy--zero warmth, zero engagement. And this is with an automatic 20% gratuity already on the bill. The mezcal was a $25 two-ounce pour and I still had to ask for an orange slice garnish because no one offered it. Empty bar, two people behind it, and I still had to request it. Also worth noting, our reservation was at 5:45pm and the restaurant was practically empty. Yet I didn't see a single manager walking the floor, greeting tables, or checking on guests. I had talked this place up to my party because I'd been so curious about it for years, and it was honestly a huge letdown. If you know Lebanese food and understand Middle Eastern warmth and hospitality, this probably isn't the place for you. Expect cold, almost nonexistent hospitality and food that feels stripped of the soul that makes Lebanese cuisine special. The space is beautiful. I'll give them that. Everything else felt like a very on-brand Miami disappointment, what happens when you give people a beautiful restaurant, expensive food, automatic gratuity, and no leadership. From the lack of authenticity and attention to detail, it's hard to believe anyone truly Lebanese is behind this operation. If anything, it feels more like a polished money grab. Honestly, it might have been less jarring if they just called themselves "Mediterranean" like so many other places in this city. But if you're going to call yourself a Lebanese restaurant, the culture and hospitality should actually be there.
