Seats approximately 25 people and must go at right hours or you'll find yourself waiting ... for their outstanding perfectly seasoned and cooked wagyu meat items and some exceptional side items. So far (3 visits) I've tried the VACA FRITA, Lomo Saltado, Skirt steak/Churasco (no chimichurri nor additional seasoning required) and finally tried the half-pound Wagyu Cheeseburger that they're known for. ALL DELICIOUS, buttery, lean and tender. Loved the mushroom side dish as well as the Hearts of Palm Salad. Service is very good. Great vibe and tunes and people there are cool. I had the Lomo saltado then my wife had a burger. Both were excellent. You might find it really hard to get in here at certain times... the time we got here it was pretty crowded and there is no seating The host was gonna turn us away, but I don't know if it was the manager or the owner of the restaurant gladly took us in until this to give him maybe a few minutes we sat at a bar facing a wall and meant a beautiful young soul there. Definitely great food. They have the know-how and equipment to do justice to the steak: nicely charred on the outside and super tender inside. The menu is very limited. Yes there are a few non-beef items but someone who doesn't eat beef will likely prefer eating elsewhere. However, if you love beef, welcome, welcome, welcome!! It's a small place with a few small tables (for two) and a long table in the center which can accommodate a larger group or shared among several. I really recommend coming with a few of friends so you can share a good rib eye or tomahawk, as well as sharing some of their delicious appetizers and sides. The salad, mushrooms and fries are all very good. Price wise it's not exactly cheap. Because, you get what you pay for. If you compare apple to apple, then you'll realize what a great price it is. Especially for the steaks, they charge you by weight and add a very modest cooking fee. The same steak will definitely cost you a lot more in a proper steak house. Now, a proper steak house will have fancier (though not necessarily better) service and not have you eating wagyu sitting on a stool, out of a disposable plate. But if you can do without the bells and whistles and just want to spend money on where it counts, you won't be disappointed. I finally made it to Shadow Wagyu. And I say finally because we almost let not finding parking determine if we'd actually make it inside or not. There is a parking garage across the street so hopefully that'll save you some time circling the lot unlike us. The staff were so damn welcoming, friendly and inviting making it easy to want to revisit. We enjoyed a cold beer while we waited for our table which took all of 15 minutes on a Monday afternoon. We were seated inside their meat market and were amazed at the influx of guests coming in and out to purchase different cuts of meats; Wagyu, prime, all top of the line. We started with their short rib and I'm so happy we did. WOW! Flavorful and then some. The real reason we came was for their Wagyu cheesesteak at a whopping $50!!!! Which is only available 3 times out of the entire year. Was it worth it? It was very good and tender but not $50 good. I loved how it was small and intimate, had no problem sitting on a Saturday afternoon, even though it was packed. We had the classic burger that came with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and i believe they said Japanese mayo. It was melt in your mouth delicious, real quality wagyu. I also am a very big fan of the broccoli as it was covered in a sauce that left you wanting more. This was a small restaurant but the employees are super nice and helpful. Parking is difficult as there are not many spots so you might have to park across the street. It is also connected to a shop where you can choose from an assortment of meats to take home and cook yourself or bring to the restaurant and they will cook for you. Aesthetically I saw the appeal and it was very clean with attentive service, to be fair there's no other option considering it seats 8 at least where we were sat. In practice however I cannot recommend any less save your money and time. The burger was flavorless unfortunately but juicy. The ribs were underwhelming and a relatively small portion and very fatty if that's your thing (it's not mine). The fries were our favorite part which is a shame cause it's an add-on. I think they use the fact that the meat is higher quality to skim on actual seasoning and thought of flavor profile. A shame was really excited but ultimately disappointed and underwhelmed. We got lucky and snagged a table on Friday around 5:30 pm! It was our first time trying Shadow Wagyu after hearing so many good things from friends. We ordered the cheese burger, wagyu steak frites and an extra order of fries. My boyfriend ordered 2 different beers and commented on how much he liked that they had different beers than most restaurants. The burger came first and it was cooked perfectly & so juicy! We loved that the bun was fluffy and light. The steak frites is a must order, my boyfriend and I shared it because the steak was pretty big. It was super juicy, flavorful and tender.
