The authentic imported hams in the display case literally whisper my name as I pass so finally I stopped today to try it out. I loved that they have the imported olives, anchovies, olive oil, cured meats... pretty much everything to make a perfect charcuterie. Let's start off by saying I don't speak any Spanish. So approaching this counter was very intimidating because all the signs are in Spanish. The gentleman there was not very approachable but that could be that he did not speak English, I don't know, but that's fine. A nice lady who spoke a little English helped us and she was very pleasant. This small kiosk-like establishment serves deli style sandwiches, small tapas plates and had a little seated area for "dine in". The tables were clean which I appreciated but I did decide to enjoy my sandwich in the car. I was hoping to be able to purchase half a pound of ham to take home but that's not really what happens here. And please don't do what I did and make the mistake of asking for a sample. I definitely felt shamed. Now let me tell you about this sandwich. Visually it is not impressive. It was flat looking with a sad serving of kettle chips on the side. However, don't judge this book by its cover... It had the most amazing "crunch"! That bread! I mean, I dream about that bread! The ham was so thin and perfectly sliced if a stiff wind came it would have blown away! And I swear there was frozen grated tomatoes in my sandwich. Is that even possible? This ham was so good it got me googling how I can get a hold of a jambon so I can "attempt" to recreate this beautiful sandwich at home. read more

We recently visited the Jamoteca Dadeland and ordered Jamon Serrano to go. The young man helping us was very nice but if you know anything about this jam, you know that it has to be paper thing and the excess fat cut off. When we got home we saw what he very carefully had put in a plate and out of the 5 ounces we ordered most of it was excess fat. (picture attached). This is a ham that is sold by the ounce and to have this much fat is unacceptable. read more

We love this spot for a casual glass of wine, some tapas, and conversation. The staff is excellent, our exchanges are always so much fun and organic without compromising service. I'm glad we were able to find a local spot were we can have high quality tapas and wine... let's talk about those croquetas though!!! The sandwiches are excellent and the place takes me back to the hole in the walls you find all throughout Spain. We continue to go back over and over again. We discovered this little stand as we waiting in queue for the Apple Store. They have three seats for you to choose from. Their menu has plenty to choose from but their bocadillos is a must try! Their prices are pretty high, but you must understand these are imported goods. I would say definitely worth trying. read more

I absolutely love their Basque cheesecake. I have traveled the Basque Country and lived in Spain. When I lived in Barcelona there was an adorable bakery downstairs from my apartment. Place is.fire. Located in Dadrland mall at the main entrance. It's a kiosk serving the best hams and different cuts from Spain. They sell marinated olives, anchovies, cuts of ham and much more. We were all in the mood.for a.sandwich and ordered the Iberico sandwiches, waters, bottle of wine, tomato bread and carpaccio. I d9nt know what kind of love is put into this bread and cuts of meat but we ate so well. The flavors were impeccable but the bread was the star of the show. It didnt leave you full or bloated, if anything wr wanted more. It was so soft and crispy and so delish. I cant twll.you what my favorite was but only.to say it was ALL damn good. I would.order the same thing all over again and regret nothing! The tomato bread was fabulous, the sandwich was toasted to.perfection and boasted the perfect saltiness, even the salad that came with it with the balsamic dressing was amazing. Raul and Manuel are the perfect hosts and they will explain in detail and with a big smile (nowadays with masks) each one of the food products, sandwiches, tapas and boards that they have on the menu. Do not order the Cochinillo or Suckling Pig. I order one to save for Christmas and when it arrived on Nov 4 the vacuum seal was damaged and ice was already forming on the skin of the pig. So to prevent any further freezer burn I cooked it. When I contacted La Jamoteca they told me that "Since the pig is quite heavy (around 9-10lbs) and is vacuum in plastic, it's not infrequent that the bag gets damaged, allowing oxygen into the bag - that's what forms ice inside the packaging. It's a great sign to see that the ice is still formed" Now you know that they actually accept that the vacuum seal doesn't hold and that the ice from freezer burn is a good thing! That's unbelievable. $300 wasted because we were not expecting this mess and had to cook it before it's time, now having to get another one from someone else. I'm sure I'll get an automatic reply. read more

My wife (from Spain) and I were there yesterday. This place is unique, we had Jamon sandwiches (on Catalan bread !!) and tomatoes. OMG to die for!! Also the ventresca, tuna...wow!!! We just visited La Jamoteca for the first time today. Great service and great food. We enjoyed it immensely and absolutely recommend it.

First of all this is not a store as stated but a kiosk in Dadeland Mall hallway that sells Fermin brand Jamon found on Amazon. Their price for bone in ham shoulder is $270 and for bone in ham leg is $370. At the time of writing this review same Fermin Jamon on Amazon sells bone in shoulder for $249 with stand, knife and cover included and bone in ham leg for $316 with stand, knife and cover included as well. Sandwiches are not made with Jamon Iberico as stated but with cheap fatty Jamon cleaning leftovers. I wonder who's the mastermind behind this business strategy read more
