We have been customers here for over 25 years, from Cuban bread, to catering for the holidays. The new management has done an incredibly good job of keeping the store clean and maintaining an organized inventory and neat shelves. Eye- pleasing, to say the least ! Especially for someone with OCD like me! The staff is also very friendly. However, today may have been an "off" day for me. My husband and I visited for breakfast and it all started with a hair under my fried eggs. The house potatoes were cold (second time this has occurred to us). Then when I went to take a sip of my water, the glass had lipstick on it. Then upon taking a piece of toast from the plate, I found a piece of lettuce on my Cuban toast! I go to Futuro Supermarket cafeteria often because the food is fresh and always consistent. Well today 9/24/2026 the food I ordered was HORRIBLE!. First I noticed the time it took to bring the food, waitress had to ask the cook many times. What I ordered was so bad, as soon as I tasted, I noticed the excesive pepper flavor. When I check the bottom of the chicken, it was covered in black pepper ,no salt, dried and not juicy as usual. I had to reject it and found out, they have a new cook. My husband came with avocado was not ready yet, it was hard. Bad experience, I do not know if I will ever return again, cannot take the risk. read more

This place was great. I came here because I was in the area and was in dire need of a good cuban coffee. Had never been here before but glad I stopped by. Such a cute ventanita. And the coffee was great. Exactly what I needed. I begged them not to give me a plastic cup and they were so accommodating that they found the most random glass cup to give me coffee in. This is a neighborhood spot. It is a restaurant and a supermarket that sells typical Hispanic goods. We had lunch on a Friday. We started with the bacaloa croquetas which are a fav of mine from here. Their chicken and beef empanadas are also great but only had croquetas this last visit. My husband had the tamal en cazuela with crab on top. It comes with maduros as well. My husband loved it, he said it was savory and the crab was fresh. He also had a soursop shake that she cut the fruit right in front of us, it was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken breast with white rice and white Spanish beans (fabadas). The chicken was so flavorful, they topped it with sautéed onions which was perfect. However, there is a full menu of Cuban dishes available here. If you're not interested in dining, then help yourself to the butcher in the back of the market. The prices are very much in line with what you'd see at other markets. Their produce section is a bit limited, but they do carry the basics to meet your Cuban-themed needs. Because of the cafeteria expansion, grocery items have lessened. So if you're looking to stock up on toilet paper or other paper goods, just know that there will be less of a selection now. I'm a sucker for those little cuban cafeterias. As a young kid growing up in Little Havana my best memories are those of having breakfast in these little hole in the walls. Futuro Supermarket-Cafeteria has definitely captured that old tradition. It's definitely a no frills counter with a few additional tables. The waitresses bounce around delivering breakfast, cafecitos, and if you're a regular, the latest gossip. Just like I remember. The other thing about this place, (which is actually as the name suggests) this is also a small market. It carries the minimal essentials of a cuban kitchen, a meat counter with a friendly butcher, and a vegetable section with the biggest red potatoes I have ever seen. Now, the worst kept secret about this place is the cuban bread. Baked on premises just about every hour, they run out often. If you want some warm, delicious cuban bread for your homemade sandwiches...this is the place to get it. I've tried others in the area...and this is the best. And the Deli and meat department can cook your turkey or pork shoulder for you. We bought one last night for a pre Thanksgiving dinner with friends and they were delighted with the pork we ordered they been cooking our thanksgiving turkey and pork for a long while now. read more

I have always enjoyed the pan con bistec at futuro supermarket cafeteria and they make really tasty chicken soup and beef soup. Yesterday I purchased a large soup to go, which they pack along with some lime and buttered toasted pieces of Cuban bread. As I was eating the soup I took a piece of the toasted bread and noticed something on it, which upon further inspection proved to be 2 very small roaches. GROSS! Never again! read more

Upon entering no one will greet you, it's up to you to figure out u need to seat yourself. When I arrived all the tables were full. Once I sat down at a table, my table was never cleaned. There was water on the table and eggs. That was the first impression. No one greeted just came by to ask if we are ready to order. Me and my friend both ordered breakfast. The croquettas we ordered came before the water or coffee, which had been sitting for some time. Oh and we got 3 ham and 1 chicken croquettas bc you know they ran out but they're making more . Both coffees didn't come at the same time. Had to ask for mine. Had to ask for our waters we ordered. The breakfast was not good. Our omelettes were slightly runny like they add water??? I frequent this location regularly as a quick stop on my way to work and order through the window. They have THE best empanadas I have ever had. The two usual girls at the window are phenomenal and treat me like family. It's to the point in where they know what my order will be. Pricing is reasonable and actually very cheap for the amount of food. I have yet to try eating inside but I think it will be somewhat of a similar service. The variety of the products on the shelf have been sacrificed for the expansion of the restaurant part, which is definitely not a bad thing. I am a local resident, and have been coming to Futuro for ever. I have to say that unlike other comments posted here, I will tell you that the over-all service, quality, and selection of latin american flavors are adequate, not only for cubans but for any latino as well as americans. The cafeteria is expanding to improve and accommodate all customers. This is not a full-service grocery store, but a store with a little bit of everything, including locally grown farmers produce, fresh dairy, A+ rated meats which are brought in daily, not stocked up in the freezers, so you are buying fresh produce and fresh meats and poultry. They have an amazing "cold-beer" selection, domestic and imports. Toilet paper is an essential, and is always in stock, maybe not 100 different brands, but you find Charmin, Angel Soft, and other brands and with the convenience of not having to walk into a major food-chain store. My overall on Futuro is very positive, and although parking is limited on holidays or any other day, it only goes to show, that people prefer to deal with the limits on parking, yet pick up great quality home meals, or stock up on fresh meats, produce, and come in for a great tasting cafecito! Ask around about their roasted full pork for noche buena, Christmas day and New Years, or to celebrate any other special day in your home. It is delicious. The best turkey I had was this year for Thanksgiving, at my job. I hosted the lunch for the office and then went back and placed an order for my home. This place has decent food and lots of choices. Unfortunately, the service is once again what makes this place almost upsetting to go to. It's the kind of place where you feel like you have to beg and plead just for some ketchup. Once I even ordered a fresh OJ, where they then proceeded to use a couple oranges to fill a bit of the cup and then fill the glass with OJ she pulled out of the fridge.
