Plot twist: We came for dinner and left as official members of the Spencer Fan Club. My friend and I stopped by Greenstreet Café on Saturday for what was supposed to be a simple, easy dinner. We ordered the Chorizo Mac & Cheese and the tzatziki, baba ganoush, beluga lentils, and pita, and everything was delicious. But the true star of the evening was our waiter, Spencer. This man has PERSONALITY. He was warm, attentive, hilarious, charismatic, and somehow made us feel like we were hanging out with an old friend instead of meeting him for the first time. I'm also ridiculously picky about beer. I gave Spencer my very specific list of beer requirements (which usually leaves people staring at me like I've asked them to solve a complex math equation) and he instantly knew exactly what to bring me. He nailed it on the first try. Honestly, impressive. Spencer, if you see this: please never change! You turned a casual dinner into one of those unexpectedly fun visits you continue talking about afterward. We'll absolutely be back to see our new friend again. And to the owner: protect Spencer at all costs! People with this much natural warmth, humor, and charisma are rare. I've been coming to this Coconut Grove staple for over 20 years, and the consistently delicious, fresh food and great cocktails keep me coming back. My favorite cocktail is still the Grove Goddess. It hasn't been on the menu for over 10 years, but I love that they'll still make it to perfection when you ask, complete with fresh watermelon purée! On my last visit, the kitchen was backed up, which delayed our seating. I was admittedly a little hangry and annoyed, but the staff was so apologetic, kind, and accommodating that they completely made up for it. I really appreciated how they handled it. Welp, the vibe was cool. After that it was just meh. The hummus appetizer we got was great. The lasagna came out warm, almost cold, and the chicken Alfredo dishes weren't flavorful at all. Just really bland. The host was working her butt off all night, and so was our waitress, Zoe. She did what she could with how busy it was at this restaurant. I came here on Tuesday evening and the inside of the restaurant was closed so we had to sit outside under the covered terrace. It was hot since it is Miami, even though they have fans running. The service was good and the waitress was very attentive to us. I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was delicious and so filling! Usually when I've ordered this dish in other restaurants, I've stayed hungry but not here in Greenstreet Cafe. Each ravioli was big and so stuffed that I could not finish my plate and ended up with leftovers. I would totally come here again to eat that dish and perhaps try some other of their dishes. Such a GREAT spot! Genuinely blew it out the park. We came here after seeing a couple videos on social media recommending it and we LOVED it and had a great time. We came for brunch on Saturday and there was a wait time, which is expected considering it's a popular brunch time, so it was totally okay. However we were sat not more than 10 mins after putting our names on the waitlist, which was great. This place is BEAUTIFUL, it is also HUGE, there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, both offering a really nice ambiance. We sat inside and loved the decor and vibes. Our server was very nice and fun. Service was great and the bussers and servers were very attentive. We ordered scrambled eggs with Gruyère, one with a side of baguette and another with an everything bagel. The potatoes were the star of the show, they were perfectly crispy and so well seasoned. The eggs were a bit underwhelming and had a little bit of an odd aftertaste but they were still good. We loved both the baguette and the bagel. We also had a side of bacon which was super flavorful but could've been crispier or fresher. One of the things to highlight were their prices, which are extremely reasonable and just amazing for the area and quality of the food. This is such a great find! Greenstreet is an institution in Coconut Grove...see and be seen. Celebrities galore. Solid location at a pivotal corner of the main drag. And you can choose to sit either indoors or outdoors (most of which is shaded). Brunch will inevitably entail a wait. But for us, two people, it was only 15 minutes at prime time. We got a pesto Parmesan omelette and a Nova Benedict. Both were tasty and came along with preferred modifications. I went for the baked brie and was happily surprised to see they also had Lulu's Asian Steak Salad on the menu. The baked brie was definitely the highlight for me. The steak on the salad, unfortunately, wasn't cooked very well--it was tough and chewy. I don't really eat meat, so I ended up giving most of it to my friend, though I did try a bite myself. Our server (I forgot his name) was great--very attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal, which really added to the experience. We were in Florida for a couple weeks visiting. Green street is located in such an adorable area. They were busy for breakfast, we didn't have too long of a wait, and we got to explore the local state park across the street. We ordered the nova Benedict and the goat cheese omelet. Along with their delicious bloody Maria's. We ordered multiple of these! The bloody Maria may be small but it packs so many flavors. The shrimp are cooked perfectly, slightly still warm from being cooked. I love cheese and appreciated the cheese stuffed olive and the cube of cheese . The nova lox was delicious, a Benedict with cold smoked salmon. The potatoes were delicious, crispy exterior and fluffy interior. Which is hard to accomplish with smaller cubed potatoes. The goat cheese omelette was very cheesy, too cheesy. But it was still good. I appreciate that they had a baguette as a bread option. Our second visit we ordered the nova and the grove Benedict , along with more bloody marias, a caramel latte and a matcha. We unfortunately never received our lattes. Which they were pretty busy on Easter Sunday. They also did run out of shrimp so we received one Bloody Maria without a shrimp. But our second round of bloody Maria's the shrimps were back! We were taken to Greenstreet Cafe by a local who hadn't been there in a few years. The staff was great - especially Carmen, who was patient and helpful and proactive. Our food was delicious - everything from the omelet to the pasta to the tuna sandwich and lamb burger. The sweet potato fries came out way overcooked and as soon as the plate was set down, Carmen brought fresh, perfectly cooked ones. The downside was the noise level. We had chosen to eat inside, thinking it would be cooler. It really wasn't and it was almost too loud to have a conversation. Went for lunch on a Saturday for a party of two. It was busy, but the wait wasn't bad, around 15 minutes. They have a nice selection of breakfast and full meal items. I got extremely drunk, threw up in the bathroom, slipped while trying to clean it up, fell onto the floor, started crying, called my mom, accidentally called the restaurant instead of my mom, apologized to a toilet, and then apparently tried to leave without my pants properly fastened. An employee found me, helped me get cleaned up, got my friends, gave me water, and made sure I got home safely. When she finally came back, after we saw her go to 2 more tables outside and we actually thought about leaving, she came back to take the order. She wasn't attentive most of the time, I don't believe she introduced herself either. We did ask the hostess earlier that day (a different person) was the snapper a whole fish when we were looking at the menu and she said yes so that's why we chose this spot. Unfortunately, it wasn't the whole fish, but it was still good so no complaints there. It was tender, flavorful and moist. The asparagus was HUGE, I never seen any like that before and yes, they were cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes reminded us of old school cooked mashed, they were delicious. Like I said, I wanted to give a higher rating, but the service wasn't hitting and the fact that we were told one thing and it really wasn't. There are so many wonderful restaurants to choose from in Coconut Grove and this one is one of the best. We were walking around the area outside trying to decide where to eat for dinner when we passed by this restaurant. The hostess made a point of saying hello so we stopped to take a look. It is big w/great ambiance inside & out. We thought for sure we had to make reservations to get in because it looked so busy yet the hostess was so friendly and sat us immediately. All the food coming out looked so yummy. We had a wonderful server named Aldana who was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided us with great recommendations. Her service was incredible always checking in on us but not so much as to be annoying. The food was just as delicious tasting as it was looking beautiful on the plate.
