I went to Eating House yesterday with my boyfriend and four friends, and let me tell you, it's the best restaurant I've eaten at in a while. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. It has amazing portions as well. For starters, we got the Pulled Burrata, Brussels Sprouts Caesar Salad, Soft Baked Potato Rolls, and Yellowfin Tuna Tiradito. The rolls came with a maple brown butter on the side that was sooo good, the perfect mix of sweet and salty. For our entrées, we had the Pasta Carbonara, which was my absolute favorite, and the Wagyu Smash Burger. It came with the best truffle fries, and the whole plate was filled. They were incredibly crispy and delicious. We also had the Slow Cooked Short Ribs, which were so tender and served over a rich, flavorful sauce. Of course, we got all the desserts, the Dirt Cup with ice cream on the bottom, the Cap'N Crunch Panna Cotta, and a Tres Leches that I forgot the name of. It was like a funfetti birthday cake-style tres leches. My favorite was definitely the Panna Cotta. read more

My short rib entree was tender, though the true star was the Tuscan kale with a sherry demi-glace. I have to figure out how to recreate that kale at home! I remember when this restaurant was in a smaller and more casual location serving Tang mimosas. They had come a long way but sadly I did not like my visit to this new fancier location. We ordered the Korean chicken sandwich with tater tots, shrimp salad and tuna tartare. I honestly did not enjoy any of them. The tuna tartare had so many potato strips on top that it was almost impossible to taste anything else on that dish but fried potato. The chicken sandwich had no sauce and the crust was so thick it was not enjoyable. The tater tots were just thrown on the plate with zero presentation and no salt. The bread was room temperature and dry. The pickled onions and carrots inside this sandwich were tasty. The shrimp salad was just a bunch of lettuce tossed together with a little bit of dressing and shrimps tossed of top. Nothing special at all. Again zero presentation. The shrimps were nicely cooked with a nice charred outside. The stars go to the shrimps in this salad, other than that, everything else was just average and bland. Our server was friendly and polite. However, we arrived on a Sunday around 11am and they sat us in the back room when there was tables available in the main room. It was not busy throughout the enitre restaurant including the bar. Even after we left it was not busy. The back room is a bit dark and apart from everything. It is a perfect room for private parties but not so much for a family Sunday brunch. I remembered this place to have some uniqueness about it and delicious food. This visit was definitely not the same. Our waiter was super attentive and basically built our whole order for us -- every recommendation hit. First thing that surprised us was the bread rolls. Definitely not your typical bread and butter situation. They were super soft, warm, and honestly addicting. The caviar tater tots? Insane. I genuinely still crave them. The pasta carbonara was creamy, rich, and full of flavor without feeling too heavy. The wagyu burger was cooked perfectly and tasted unreal. And the espresso martinis??? Glad to be back and I'll definitely return. Had the 420 menu with the PG-13 mocktail alongside some friends. Though I don't do wagyu or beef ribs, I was GRATEFUL for the check replacing my beef options for chicken. He could've said no (because it was set menu) but he went above and beyond and that spoke volumes! That part was 5/5. The first three starters were DELICIOUS! Crudo with crunchy chips sprinkled with tajin, the shrimp with the Indian dipping sauce (the pinch of lime elevated it) and the snoop dog (mine was made with chicken). The main entrees were the chicken Parmesan bao bun (my favorite) and the ribs (sub chicken). The chicken was too crunchy but whereas in the bao bun, it was cooked to perfection (needed a little more marinara sauce). The sauce for the "rib" was incredible! The corn and bbq sauce combo was great! The desserts were good, but the chocolate one was way too sweet and no one finished it and there were 6 of us. The ice cream sandwich was yummy, but it would've been better with vanilla ice cream instead of matcha. I know matcha is popular but it wasn't (in my opinion) the right pairing for the concept. I absolutely love eating house - anyone you ask will tell you this is my absolute favorite restaurant. My husband and I dined there for my birthday, and I just need to give a huge shoutout to Yelenny and the rest of the staff for making my night so special and memorable. She was so sweet, so patient, made sure we were taken care of, and we literally felt like the only customers there due to the VIP service we received (p.s. the restaurant was packed). I love eating house. The first time I came here a raved about the Brussel sprout Ceasar salad - I had it this time on their Miami spice menu and it's still just as amazing. I love the mix of hot and cold. The short rib was phenomenal. Every bite was good and it could be pulled apart with my fork. And the dessert duty cup is not only delicious but sooo cute how it comes out like a cute little plant. Now a word about the service and ambience. The ambience is cool, they have a dark and moody vibe going on. However, they need to better arrange their tables. We got sat in a back corner, despite making a reservation, and more than half the time we were passing servers plates and cups because it was impossible to get through to us. The service was great, until the end when our waiter gave us some serious attitude. I asked if the check could be divided separate ways and he said no but we could use multiple cards. He said he was going to come back with the credit card machine that way we could just tell him what we ordered and pay. He came back and I told him what I ordered and he said "I'm making an exception this time for you guys". I'm sorry, what exception? You literally just said we could pay with separate cards. He also walked away as I was paying and left the credit card machine sitting at our table. And he was shaking his head "no" the entire time he took our payments. His attitude at the end really put a bad taste in my mouth on the whole experience. TL;DR: great food, pour seating arrangements, service is good but server had attitude over payment. read more

I came her with high recommendations to celebrate my mom's birthday. The menu sounded noticing and had good options. We got convinced to do the pumpkin spice menu and to make it for 3 servings. The laugh we had when the appetizers came out... I feel one person could've eaten this. The flavors of the tuna in my opinion did not go well together. The burrata was very good, but again small. The short rib came with the same amount of pieces it would've came with had we ordered off that menu. The ravioli was good but felt it didn't vibe well all the other flavors. I tried Eating House for the first time during their special "305 Day" set menu, so I'm not sure if this review fully reflects their usual offerings but I was a bit disappointed. The crispy cheese curd mostly tasted like grease with some parmesan on top, and the grilled pork wings were overcooked and dry. The rest of the menu was just okay, but none of the dishes stood out, and we barely finished any of the plates. On top of that, every dish came out slower and slower, and by the time they reached our table, they were barely warm enough to eat. Service was incredibly slow overall. We were there for over two hours, even though we came toward the end of the night when it wasn't too crowded. Maybe their regular menu is better, but based on this experience, I'm not in a rush to come back. read more

Stumbled upon their location on Giralda as went for brunch when it had first opened at his initial smaller location in the Gables. The chef has a following so excited to get a table outside (with a 30 mins wait) on a Saturday evening. We started with cocktails at their bar hightop area and our table ordered the birds and the bees cocktails but I am not a fan of a Paloma, I ordered a mezcal margarita. We started with the Brussel sprouts Caesar salad which was the star for me. Also the truffle fries and whatever the dipping sauce, I forgot to ask dare I guess a burnt ketchup as it was brown, it was delicious. But then it went downhill as we ordered chicken parmigiana (probably nostalgic from when we were kids) but it was 1 pound and it was breaded, but was not a fan of the flavor, I had to add chili flakes. It was a huge portion as we had leftovers but did not want them. Also ordered the branzino meunière which is a white wine citrus butter sauce which came with broccolini as we also had ordered a broccolini as a side. Perhaps my palette is not suited for these dishes as it tends to gravitate to Asian or Peruvian, but appreciated the inventive take on classic dishes. I've been to Eating House in their old location and new for various occasions: brunch, dinner, just drinks at the bar. Always everything has been stellar. But I recently went for brunch again and I can't believe in all my times I had yet to try their infamous captain crunch pancakes. They were so good that I feel they need their own acclamation: Don't skip on the captain crunch pancakes. I thought they would be too sweet, too cerealy, too I don't know. This time we ordered them and they were out of this world! Served piping hot! The consistency of the pancake was more on the thinner less fluffy side, which I also appreciate. The capt'n crunch cereal was not overbearing. It was just delightful. But they need to be hot. That's what makes it so delicious. The maple syrup and butter bring it all together. Perfect for sharing because it's like three stacker. I highly recommend. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays till 4! read more

Sometimes strange isn't good. Let's start off with the pluses. Great service ( though the entree was 45+). Really attentive. Space was great. Wine list was stellar with something for everyone. price points were excellent. But! Steak tartare with peanuts and cucumbers was weird. I want a crunch with the softness of tartare but the peanuts added little except more crunch. This dish desperately needed either salt or acid. Again not bad but far from good. The short rib posed another conundrum. I was told to make sure to eat the butternut squash purée and I did but it was muted and added zero to the dish. The slaw of Brussels sprouts was fine but the short rib bordelaise ate like a barbecue sauce. Not at all what I expected or wanted. The menu looks great and I'd happily try other dishes but these two came up short. read more

I appreciate that not everyone at the table had to order off of the Miami spice menu. Since it was Sunday, the staff told us they do cena sundays with Cuban inspired dishes--decided to also get the paella de mariscos. The burrata was good, it was savory with olive oil but also balanced with a sweet guava sauce. Came with garlic bread. 4.5/5 The grilled short rib was really tender and moist. It came with freshly hot yuca fries that were crispy on the outside. 4.5/5 The paella was good, came with 4 pieces of shrimp and 3 fried halibut. 4/5 The dirt cup definitely satisfied my sweet tooth--it had all of the textures with the dry Oreo crumbs on top, liquid creamy ice cream, sticky caramel, crunchy hazelnuts. My favorite for the night. 5/5 It is pretty pricey, but the food was good and service was very attentive. Environment was nice with modern decor. A lot of people were sitting at the bar--they have happy hour there Tuesday-Sunday 4-7 pm which I would definitely consider trying. Everything was incredible. The fries were my favorite. The truffle sauce on top of the fries added so much flavor. The queso blanco was good and when dipped into the jam was even better. I had the Mr. Pink drink and this was probably the best drink I've had in a very long time. It was a bit sweet and refreshing. It was perfect. Service 5/5- sat at the bar and the bartenders were attentive and helpful. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Ambiance 5/5- loved the decor. It gave earthy/cool modern vibes. What an incredible meal! I can here with my family from out of town who enjoy the more laid back scene in Coral Gables. The restaurant is open and airy, very welcoming and not too loud. Our server was fantastic, extremely attentive and happy to explain all of the dishes to my older parents. For the food, everything was delicious and so unique, definitely highlighting the various cuisines in Miami. While everything was outstanding, the Arroz con Pollo was incredible, so rich and savory.
