I'm giving this restaurant 3.5 stars because even though the food was delicious, the service was not as great as I would've liked. It was a Friday evening and we did not have reservations but we were still seated. The staff told us that we would be timed and had to give up the table within an hour of being seated because they had a reservation coming in around that time. We agreed that it was fine as long as they were able to serve us our food within that time. Parking was a mission of course because most places in Miami are not easy to find parking for. I parked in a garage behind the restaurant but if you're lucky/patient/not in a rush you can probably find street parking. The food was pretty good. I would recommend this restaurant if looking for decent Italian food in the area. I also would come back if someone invited me or suggested an outing at this restaurant. The only other downside to this visit sadly had to do with the service. At one point as the sun was setting, my seat was the only one on the terrace with no shade, and the sun was B L A Z I N G and obviously very bright. And it was directly in my line of sight, and at one point I could not take it anymore and kindly asked one of the employees if it would be okay to move the umbrella in a slightly different angle so it could also offer me some shade. He declined my request and said it could not be moved because then the other guests would be uncomfortable. After a few minutes he realized that the other guests were also being affected because obviously as the sun is setting the light is moving and the umbrella is no longer serving its purpose, and then he moved the umbrella and fixed the issue. read more

Came here during lunch time. Parking will be paid street parking or garage nearby. The staff was great and attentive during my visit. Not busy during lunch time when I went. The bread at the beginning of great. The appetizer which was like a breaded cheese was good. I really enjoyed the chicken parm with a side of pasta. This is a small restaurant. It has a very nice well-rounded menu. We started with fried calamari and octopus. Delicious! I split a small salad and ordered a special - spinach fettuccine with sautéed spinach and shrimp. It was delicious! My husband and mother had the pasta bolognese! The bread was delicious as well! This place has so many reviews that it really doesn't need mine but let me just say it was fantastic. Beto, the guy who runs everything, is so friendly and attentive. Everyone seems to know him. Antipasto salad so fresh and flavorful and beautifully presented. I'm always hesitant to get linguine con vongole because the only place that does it perfectly is Dante and Luigi's in Philly. Six stars. Had a 50th birthday dinner on my first visit. Immediately treated like a regular upon sitting down. My son couldn't stop eating their pre-meal bread and bruschetta. Pasta was clearly homemade and outstanding. We had lasagna, pappardelle, rigatoni. Also, their Gorgonzola filet was perfect - as good as a steakhouse. Kitchen was very flexible with modifications. Fratellino is a small, authentic Italian restaurant in Coral Gables with great food. I imagine it must get pretty packed during season. We liked our waiter who was friendly and helpful. We tried the tricolor salad which was fresh and excellent, and fried provolone in a delicious orange sauce with oregano and peas - also very tasty. For mains, we tried the spaghetti bolognese because I'm a sucker for a great bolognese with the hearty red sauce and a delicious sliced sausage home made pasta dish which I believe was one of the specials. Great wine by the glass list to select from. To finish it off, we went with the traditional tiramisu, which I can't resist at a good Italian restaurant. read more

We had a lovely dining experience. To start, the owner called ahead of time to let me know we would be at the table closest to the door. I have never had a restaurant call in advance just to let me know what to expect, felt like they cared before we even arrived. The table location was certainly not a problem, definitely enough space and not much traffic as it's a smaller restaurant. We were served warm bread and diced tomatoes, soooo good, able to make your own bruschetta essentially. We then shared the eggplant and burratina--both fantastic (and I don't even usually like eggplant!). For mains we had the veal parm, carbonara, agnolotti, and salmon--each dish was excellent, everyone loved their choice. The carbonara was tasty, though worth noting it's made with cream rather than the traditional style. The entree portions were large which I appreciate, we all took home leftovers. The owner was a gem, one of those people who instantly makes you feel like you've known him forever, so friendly, welcoming, and fun. Every dish was fresh, thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor, kind of meal you keep talking about long after you leave. I had the day's special Veal Parmigiana Spaghetti Alla Bolognese...delicious! We didn't have a reservation and did have to wait a bit, but it was very much worth it. Places like this earn their popularity, and now I fully understand why. If you go, be sure to ask for Beto, the owner/manager--his attention to guests and genuine hospitality make the experience even more special. Place and location very nice. Small restaurant with open air dining. We ordered zuppa del giorno which was stracciatella and it was bland and watery. The complimentary baked bread is good. The Insalata Tricolore was also very tasty and had a very nice dressing. The Agnolotti di Pera was good and a large plate. During our last day in Miami, my friend and I wanted to have a nice dinner. We had walked around the miracle mile neighborhood a couple days prior and really liked the night scene since it's calm and classy so we decided to try this place for dinner based on reviews. We did not make reservations since we decided a couple hours before but, the owner himself sat us down at any table outside and treated us like queens. The bread we were given as a starter was incredible, especially with the finely diced tomato topping that went with it. I forgot the name of the dish I chose but it was a special and had green fettucine with shitake mushrooms, Italian sausage, and peas (I don't think these were supposed to be included but I had no problem with them) all dressed in vodka sauce. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce was tasty with a nice balance of savory and creamy. There was a generous amount of everything, so each bite was packed with flavor. Since we were leaving the next day, I couldn't pack any of it to go, but the serving size was definitely bigger than my appetite especially after the bread. My friend ordered the lasagna and it looked, smelled, and tasted good as well. The owner is very high energy, and went around to each table cracking jokes, getting to know people, and just trying his best to make you feel at home. I would highly recommend! I am devastated I've lived in Miami for so long without coming here sooner. My husband took me here recently to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary and it simply did not disappoint. We tried the carpaccio, the carbonara, the ossobuco, and ended with the apple tart - and we simply did not have a bad bite all evening. Service was also exceptional. The owner stopped by several times to check in on us - and our water and wine was never empty.
