Pasta pommodoro
Joe S.

Love this place. To start they accommodated a last minute no reservation for 6. Then the service was beyond compare. The recommendations and the diligence were white glove level. Sitting outside in this beautiful setting watching the crowds is perfect for a warm summer evening. But the food was the true star. The steak for the table was perfectly cooked. The pasta dishes were excellent and hearty and filling. You must try the truffled potatoes were sooooo good as well as the tuna caprice. Not one dish disappointed and we had to bring some home. Even the desserts were excellent !!! Will definitely add this to my list.

Spot is in a cute location and lots of other places all around so def walk thru the street and see all this area has to offer. Street is closed so parking is challenging but you just have to walk a bit to get there. We had a reso for outside but opted to sit at bar. The bartenders were attentive offered good suggestions and the cocktails were on point. I had the spritz with the peach in it and the Sicilian sling. Both delish and very refreshing. We ordered the focaccia the stratchetella with the truffle honey and the prosciutto. So yummy and delish and all had wonderful flavor the bread was fresh hot and crunchy and really complemented the items. My bf has the bolognese which was yummy sauce different but very good. We were so full no room for dessert but we will def go back. Chef was visible and seemed involved in day to day operations which was also nice

Amazing little Italian restaurant in a very cute area full of restaurants and dessert cafes. The service was great and the food came out quickly and fresh. Everything we ordered was delightful. Do make a note, the pasta here is cooked al dente the traditional Italian way which is more on the hard chewy side. PATE DI MORTADELLA with fig balsamic vinegar and a giant slice of grilled bread - it was so unique and delicious. Creamy pate savory plus sweet, soft and crunchy textures. Definitely my favorite dish. GRILLED WILD MUSHROOMS with Parsley-Miso sauce - nicely charred and smokey. PATATE FRITTE truffled potatoes with parmesean fondue sauce and an egg yolk - has the most interesting texture I've ever had on a potato. Crispy fluffy breading on the outside and soft squishy center. The rich Truffle sauce was decadent. BUCATINI ALL'AMATRICIANA - definitely hearty and lots of salty prosciutto chunks and pasta. The homemade chilli oil was very spicy. SHORT RIB BOLOGNESE PAPPARDELLE - I love how soft the short rib is and it was very flavorful but not overly salty. The thick noodles were great.

We made a reservation and we are glad we did- this place is busy! Once seated we had a fantastic service from Alejandro! He gave great recommendations and we ended up with Foccacia, tuna carpaccio, limone pasta, filet mignon, topped off with a delicious panna cotta. Our spritzes were delicious and enough to last us the whole meal while getting us relaxed. Service was fast once we ordered and it was nice to get some time between the apps and mains to celebrate and chat. He was very sweet and gave us a glass of bubbly for our anniversary. The dining was full but it didn't feel crowded. There's a large patio area outside that seemed nice too. We had a nice night!

A fantastic experience all around. There were many things about this menu that excited my wife and I. First of all, a Negroni menu for me and a Spritz menu for her. We tried a couple different drinks- Mulberry Street ($19) was one of my favorites. Great if you like Whiskey and Amaro drinks. Secondly, we're huge fans of olives and Caesar salads; two things that seem to be staples of the menu. The Marinated Olives ($8) were prefect. The Cacio e Pepe Caesar ($19) was well dressed and covered in an impressive cloud of finely shredded parm. The Bucatini All'Amitriciana ($37) was a perfect portion; quite large, rustic strands of bucatini, with an addicting tang from the dried tomato. So good. We sat outside, the weather was perfect, someone was playing music down the block, and we both remarked on how great our server was. The Tomato 'Nduja and Patate Frite looked amazing coming out of the kitchen, so we will definitely be back.

Came on a Saturday night and this place was PACKED. Do not even bother coming here if you don't have reservations- we were on standby for almost an hour waiting to see if someone would cancel or someone would leave at the bar. Alas, we got seated at the bar! We got the focaccia bread as an appetizer and that was the best part. The bread was DEVOURED in less than 10 minutes- crispy, soft, and so flavorful. For our main, we got the caccio de pepe & lemon pasta. The lemon pasta was amazing but the caccio de pepe was too cheesy and creamy for my liking (preference thing I know). I took a star away because no matter how fancy a restaurant is, I'm a firm believer you should be able to modify your meal. I wanted to add protein- they wouldn't do that. I asked for some garnish and they said the chef refuses to do that so we can just put it on the side (so silly)! I was too afraid to ask for red pepper flakes in case the chef refused that too! Server was very kind and upfront about the modifications which I appreciated. He even advocated for me to get some garnish on the side lol. Overall, the food is good (would have been great if I could have made modifications) and inside is really nice but it's just so hectic.

Love the ambiance at this Italian gem in the Gables. The inside is fairly small, so we were seated outside for dinner. The service was great and our server was very knowledgeable, providing us with great recommendations. We had the halibut, pasta al limone with shrimp and tiramisu for dessert. Lovely meal but the highlight of my night was the Figurati cocktail. What an experience!

Ah, another Italian restaurant. However, Luca Osteria should absolutely be on your radar as one of the best in the city. Located on beautiful Giralda in Downtown Coral Gables, it's the perfect spot to enjoy incredible pasta while people-watching. This is a great place to come with family, friends, or on a date. Ordering a bunch of dishes to share is the move. Everything we tried was excellent, especially the pasta al limone, the short rib bolognese, the grilled wild mushrooms, and the patate fritte. Simple, well-executed, and seriously satisfying. Yum... a place I'd happily return to again and again.

Well worth the wait! It took a while to snag a reservation but as I said, it was so worth it! It was a chilly night, perfect to eat alfresco, but we ate inside as there were two holiday concerts going along Giralda. The restaurant inside was simple and refreshing. The Patate Fritte appetizer was everything I thought it would be. Melt in your mouth delicious as was the mushroom appetizer! Both were devine! As our main entrees, we had the Risotto, Short Rib Bolognese, Yellowtail Caprese, and Bucatini All'Amatriciana. Everything was outstanding. We had a truly delicious meal and can't wait till the sun. moon, and stars align to dine at Luca Osteria again.

Local Straciatella with honey and toast

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE!!! Decided to come the day before valentines and the food and the service was amazing! I came to Luca Osteria a few years ago and continued to think about the amazing potatoes. So creamy, great hint of truffle, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The potatoes once again did not disappoint. If you let me, I could just eat bowl after bowl! We also got straciatella as another appetizer and it was super fresh. The manager, who came to take our order when he saw we were ready, asked if we wanted honey on the side and it was the best recommendation. Such a sweet and savory way to add on taste! Now the dinner.... woah! The gnocchi was a special (not typically on the menu) but they should definitely add it. The short rib bolognese was so tasty and full of protein. Everything we ordered including the Hugo spritz (recommended by Gabriel) was amazing. We sat outside and the weather was perfect, wasn't even rowdy given the fact it's in a busy street. Though a little pricy, it's definitely worth coming back and ordering atleast 3 orders of the potatoes !

Wow I can put in words how good this place is!!! I literally haven't finished eating here and I already want to go back. Everything about this places was perfect, order yourself the truffle pasta it was the best!!!! Can't wait till i'm back.

This is an S tier (God tier) Italian restaurant. Here's our favorites in order: Gnocchi Special: Best we've ever had. Halibut: Perfectly crispy, amazing balsamic tomatoes. Cacio y Pepe: a staple done right. Patate Fritte: the viral appetizer lives up to the hype. Lemon Pasta: really good. Cesar Salad: Very solid, but not our favorite in town. Service was top notch. Ambiance is not too formal with plenty of outdoor seating and bar room.

Chef Giorgio is the mastermind behind Luca Osteria. I love everything he does, from Eating House, Mayfair Grill & to Grape Ape; he never missies. Luca Osteria is beautiful and breathtaking with all their dishes and cocktails. In the heart of Gables, Luca is a top tier Italian restaurant that everyone needs to experience multiple times. The service is phenomenal and everyone is very knowledgeable. During certain holidays they'll offer a fixed menu which I'd always say to take advantage of. Luca has some dishes that'll make you whip out your phone to record the presentation; and I'm referring to their delicious Patate Fritte, where they'll break the yolk and pour it all over the dish; yummy!! Honestly everything on the menu is delicious and there is something for everyone.

The wait time was quick--under 5 minutes--on a saturday night and we were seated outside. We started with a fried seafood appetizer, which was enjoyable. For my main dish, I ordered the linguine alle vongole. Unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing. Every bite contained noticeable sand, making the dish gritty and inedible. I asked for it to be removed from the bill and declined a replacement. The manager, Fabian, came over but did not seem very understanding or accommodating. Stating they always clean their clams and that he would see with the kitchen. While the dish was removed, the issue didn't feel properly acknowledged. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill pretty quickly. As soon as we sat, the waitress greeted us by saying the kitchen was closing at 10 and asked if we already knew what we wanted. It immediately felt rushed and not very welcoming. We ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, which was good--slightly citrusy for my taste, but enjoyable. For food, I had the chicken Caesar salad and my husband ordered the seafood gluten-free pasta. My salad was disappointing--it had more croutons than chicken, which made it feel unbalanced and not worth the price. His pasta was even more underwhelming, with only three shrimp and a few clams. When we brought it up, the manager came over and explained that portions are measured by the restaurant, but offered to add more chicken and shrimp if we wanted. While I appreciate the offer, it felt like something that should have been corrected automatically, not something we had to ask for--especially considering these are full-priced entrées, not side dishes. Overall, the ambiance was nice, but the food and service didn't meet expectations. For the price point, I expected better portions and a more thoughtful response to feedback. Maybe pizza is a safer option here, but based on this experience, I wouldn't return.
