Located on 17th and Coral Way this restaurant is basically a house turned into a restaurant lol. If you blink or not paying attention, you will pass it on the street. Heard nothing but great things so I had to give it a try. And on Mondays and Tuesdays they have great $12 specials on pasta and pizza. So of course ibhad to take advantage. We went with the Hawaiian pizza for my kid because he loves Pineapples on his pizza. I still love him regardless. But he could not stop raving about it. I had the special of the day which was pear and arugula and initially nothing was mentioned about the ham but I wasn't hating on it when it came out. Both pizzas were thin and crispy. Definitely came hot from the oven to our table. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Seating outside was so beautiful that we didn't even consider inside. The only not great part was parking. It's a bit tight in the back but there is always street parking as a alternative. Definitely recommend this place and will be coming back again for those specials. read more

My daughter and I have passed by this restaurant on Coral Way for months and finally decided to stop in for a late lunch. The location is charming, with a cute garden entrance, and the restaurant itself is set in a small house with both indoor and outdoor seating. It was fairly busy when we arrived. We started with the seafood appetizer. calamari and shrimp served with marinara sauce which was good. Fresh bread was also brought to the table. Our server, Veronica, seemed very busy. She recommended the mushroom truffle pappardelle, which I ordered, while my daughter chose the spaghetti pomodoro. When the food arrived, it was just okay, and we were honestly expecting more given the cozy, quaint atmosphere. My daughter's spaghetti was overly sauced and a bit overwhelming, and my pappardelle lacked flavor. My daughter wanted grated cheese, but our server didn't come back to check on us, so I eventually flagged down another server for help. I also had to get up myself to find pepper, as Veronica was still too busy to assist. The ambiance itself was enjoyable, and we really wanted to love this place. The pizza at nearby tables looked good, so perhaps that is a better option. However, between the long wait for our check, the lack of attentiveness, and food that didn't quite meet expectations, the experience fell short. What was most disappointing was the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, despite the service not reflecting that level of care. I appreciate that waitstaff generally work hard, are underpaid and rely on the kindness of strangers for tips. There was a time when a 15% tip was customary for good service. For various reasons in recent times that may have tipped closer to 20%. No matter; the amount is the diner's prerogative. I do not appreciate receiving a bill for 2 diners with a 20% gratuity added by the merchant, especially when the server was inattentive and had to be summoned after we waited too long for the bill ... which finally came suggesting additions to the 20%! Won't be back if no change in the practice of gratuitous gratuities. read more

Adorable restaurant with parking right on Coral Way. It's a converted house nicely decorated with a beautiful seating area outside plus a comfortable one inside. I ordered the lasagna and asked the server if it was covered with tomato sauce and she said no. The lasagna was terrible. It was absolute mush and filled with tons of tomatoes. There was hardly any meat and no bechamel sauce as indicated on the menu. My friend enjoyed her eggplant Parmesan. Now the best part of the meal were the desserts! We had the Pistachio Tartuffe and it was outstanding. Upon hearing my disappointment with the lasagna our server gave us a complimentary Limoncello Tartuffe that was divine. Discovered this little gem the last time we visited Miami. My love got mushroom Papparadelle Gialle which he described as sublime. I had the half-moon tortelli that was served with the most delicious mushroom and pistachio sauce. There really are no words to describe. YUM We were celebrating a big anniversary and so they treated us to dessert: a lemon gelato/white chocolate concoction that was not even listed on the menu and was so yummy that we wanted to lick the plate. Our waiter was attentive. The restaurant is small with limited seating. We saw several patrons come in to pick up orders to-go and got the feeling that this was a regular place for them. Limited wine menu. We ordered whatever was dry and white. It was good and complimented our meal nicely. This is a good Italian restaurant. Coral house On the last day of our vacation we decided to skip the spring break crowds of South beach and opted for quieter lunch on the mainland in Coral Gables. Lucky for us this ended up being probably my favorite meal of our trip. We usually prefer to eat outside when we are with our kids, and the patio had a really cute and comfortable atmosphere, not to mention the weather was perfect. They do have a pizza oven inside which my kids enjoyed seeing. Service was fast and friendly, and we were quickly started with drinks and bread for the table. We ordered the Milky (a star shaped pizza art) and a cheese pizza with sausage, both of them gluten-free. I almost never say this about gluten free alternatives, but the food was truly phenomenal. The crust was not the typical cauliflower crust (not sure what the base was), but I done think you would know it was gluten free if I didn't tell you. Not only was the flavor on point, but the presentation was also 10/10. I *almost* felt guilty eating our pizza/art, but it tasted even better than it looked if you can believe it. The prosciutto/charceuterie appetizer which was the perfect addition to our meal and the Chef came to table side to check on our meal, which was super nice. Overall we really enjoyed our experience and both my husband, I and our 3 young kids left satisfied and happy. Just FYI, they do state that there is likely some cross contamination in the kitchen as all pizzas are prepared in the same space, so they don't recommend the gluten free pizza for people with celiac or very sensitive reaction to cross contamination. read more

An amazing Italian restaurant! The restaurant is basically a house turned into a restaurant, making a super unique and cozy vibe! The food is so fresh and tasty. You dan tell it was homemade with love. They gave our table complimentary bread, perfect to snack on as we were deciding what to eat. My sister chose the spaghetti Alfredo with shrimp, my mom got the spaghetti puttanesca, and my father and i had the beef ragú. Great food, service is good as long as you dont come in while its busy or starting to, seems tightly ran so its noble, but certainly appears understaffed due to this, if its only in the family, hire some nephews and nieces. Yall need the numbers, 2 people running circles like its nascar doesn't look good when people start getting skipped due to the rush. Everything was fresh and wonderfully crafted. I've driven past this spot -it looks like a single family home with funky exposed wood - a couple of times on Coral Way, and hadn't had the chance to stop by until tonight for a late night bite. My break came close to closing time, around 930pm on a Saturday. I will say to definitely making reservations, especially to sit inside. It was right close to closing time, and was lucky they could accommodate me. They do have some outdoor tables, but I'd say those would be better later in the fall. Their menu has a decent amount of Italian comfort food classics, of which I started with a burrata and prosciutto salad. Portions were pretty generous and the ingredients tasted fresh. The burrata was perfectly creamy. Although getting half to go, I enjoyed - nay, loved - their take on the diavola pizza! Made neapolitan style in their brick oven and garnished with fresh basil leaves & chilis, it s a must if you love spicy dishes. There's a consistent but not overwhelming delicious burn in every bite. It was absolutely divine, a delicious creamy cheese encased in a fried delicious house, served on top of a little salad of arugula and cherry tomatoes drizzled with a touch of balsamic. Next, I ordered the seafood pasta and my mom ordered the mushroom pappardelle. Honestly both were very well done. The seafood pasta had an ample amount of seafood and a very nice light sauce, with a sweetness to it. It had clams, mussels, squid, calamari, and octopus. Second time at Coral House. A hidden gem in heavily traffic coral way. The restaurant is neatly tucked behind palms and trees, so the traffic noise is somewhat muffled. Service was great and even without reservations, we were able to get a table. Meatballs for appetizers were delicious and a great way to start. They have a good menu of wines, but their 5 choices of Italian IPA beers are top notch. We had the eggplant, which was light on the tomato sauce and tasted fresh and delicious. The spaghetti with seafood was filled with plenty of scallops, shrimp, octopus and calamari. Turns out it's now $12 Pasta/Pizza on Monday/Tuesday nights--still not bad, especially since it's now two nights. The complimentary bread was warm, slightly toasted on the outside, soft on the inside. Great start to my feast of carbs. Ordered the mushroom pappardelle and the parmigiana. The mushroom pappardelle is great for mushroom lovers. The mushroom flavor is strong with the mushroom pieces and truffle oil. Love the wide cut pappardelle shape. The parmigiana pizza was also good. Had that thin bottom crust, but still thick and fluffy crust on the ends. Hints of strong flavor with the seasoned eggplant and the pieces of basil. Definitely didn't skimp on the cheese. Altogether, the two were quite filling, I was too full to even consider getting any more food. I would say the Monday/Tuesday night specials definitely give you the bang for your buck--definitely rare to get $12 pasta or pizza in a sit-down restaurant in Miami nowadays. Service was quick. What an experience! Our first time at the Coral House, which is located in a really cute, tropical-esque neighborhood of Miami. No city feel here (which I love!). The appetizer was the definite highlight, a brand new item for us called Farinata, which were these delicate, crispy, yet soft chickpea "poptart" looking rectangles and served with creamy ricotta, salty prosciutto, arugula, tomatoes, olives, and oil & balsamic for dressing. 10/10 - would dine here again just for those alone. My pasta was a little disappointing, I was excited to try the wild mushroom pappardelle. But the mushrooms were definitely not wild (we guessed canned) and the dish truly lacked flavor. I almost never season my food with salt, and I had to request salt just to bring it to life a little bit. Would not try this one again. My fiancé had the spaghetti pomodoro and the meatballs, which he said was pretty good but not mind blowing. The meatball texture was good but the flavor was lacking as well. That all said, there were a ton of delicious looking menu options and we'll definitely visit here again given the opportunity.
