The first time I tried Joe's was in downtown LA and I never thought twice about coming back for another slice. Then I tried it again in LA but at another location in the Valley. That experience was a little better. Back then, I had no idea Joe's was a chain from NY because my experiences in LA were so mediocre. But it became nostalgic to me because it was the only pizza spot during the pandemic that got better while other spots got worse so I started ordering more regularly. I was happy to see Joe's here and this time I had to come back for a third time in Miami. The Caprese pie was my favorite. The ingredients here are way fresher than anything I've had in the west coast and the location was much cleaner as well! In general, we were disappointed with Miami's food selection but Joe's in Miami is where it's at! The service was average. They were friendly the first time but not so much the other times. Sausage is usually my go-to, and it did not disappoint, but the pepperoni was straight fire too. Thin crust, solid fold, classic flavor--exactly what you want. Service was fine. Nothing bad at all, just not memorable. No extra warmth or flair, but everything worked, orders came out right, and that's really all you need in a slice shop. Beverage selection is pretty limited--soda and water--which seems to be a recurring Wynwood thing. I don't drink soda, so I was on bottled water duty, but honestly, I'll live. The vibe is iconic. It feels like Joe's, through and through. This isn't the spot you bring someone who's visiting Miami looking for "Miami food." But if you live here--or you're from New York and need a reminder of home--this is exactly what you're looking for. Final take: a strong four stars, and honestly, I'd give it 4.5 if Yelp let me. Was in Wynwood and decided to try the famous Joe's pizza and walked away a little underwhelmed. The sausage and pepperoni slice was soggy, greasy and I could not pick up the slice to eat it it was so soggy. The back half was better. The cheese slice was dry and nothing to write home about. They do a very brisk business there and the pizza is definitely acceptable but nowhere near the legendary status people think they have. At seven dollars a slice it should be a lot better. Wow! New York style pizza from Joe's in Miami. What a treat ! While we were walking the Wynnwood Walls area we spotted this Gem. Upon entry you knew you had stumbled into something special. The walls were covered with famous celebrities with the orginal owner Joe. We order the thin crust Pepperoni and Caprese Style both we absolutely delicious with a subtle crackle each bite the texture was smooth and had just a touch of char to it , as good a bite I've had anywhere. If you're in the mood for authentic NY style pizza you're in the right place. The store was clean enough with lots of available seating and filled with photos with celebrities and employees. My pizza was good once seasoned. I do wish they reheated the slices for a little bit longer and my spinach was a bit mushy hence the 4 stars. The service was also fine but nothing spectacular. I only ordered one slice but another customer ordered a whole pie while I was there and it appeared to be a fresh and hot pie so I would try to order a whole one in the future and see if the quality is better due to it not being reheated. read more

Joe's is always busy, always with a great buzz in and out of the shop. I always wondered what it was like or why there was such a buzz. I heard from many that they sold pizza from slice and that it was reasonable, especially for Miami/Wynwood and so finally for lunch, I decided to try. My husband and I popped in on a Sunday and it was busy but the team had the hot pizza's coming. The space inside is really small but they have casual seating, first come first serve, and it's really meant to be a pizza shop where you eat and go. We walked by on a Saturday before noon to get ice cream for my grandson two doors down. The smell of the pizza was just too much to pass up. We went back and ordered a couple of slices, one regular one Sicilian. My favorite was the regular, the perfect amount of sauce and cheese and crispness on the bottom and crust. I also liked that the prices are not typical of Winwood either. Took me back to when I was a child in NY and I would stop to get a slice most days after school. I've been to Joe's in NYC and remember it being pretty solid. When I saw this location while strolling through Wynnwood, it seemed like a good option for lunch. I ordered the white slice with spinach and a pepperoni, mushroom and onion slice. Both where decent, but definitely nothing to go out of your way for. Both sliced were reheated, but could have used more time in the oven because neither had melted cheese when it was given to me. I didn't notice initially, but would have requested additional time in the oven if I had. Decent amount of table and counter top seating was available inside the shop, but we opted to sit outside. Always wanted to check out Joes Pizza but never want to visit New York City and finally they brought the same experience to closer to me in Wynwood! The signage inside saying it's from Spider-Man was iconic! I'll never forget it being in that movie. The line is always huge but it goes by quick and it's so worth it! They are also open super late too which is great. They have so many slices to choose from and I went with the combination slice and Sicilian slice. The combo slice has pepperoni, onions, mushrooms and sausage. I really liked the crisp crunchy bread with the flavorful toppings. It all went perfectly and for $6 a great snack. I also really liked the Sicilian slice even though I wish it had a little bit more sauce. It added a little variety but if I had to choose what I liked more it was the combo slice. If you are in Wynwood you must check out Joes. It's great to grab a slice and walk around town and it's right in the heart of Wynwood so it's not much of a deviation from your time out either. read more

Meh overall. Prices are high for normal sized slices. Overpriced. My one slice was blackened on the bottom, straight up burnt. Disappointing really. It's basically just NYC stylepizza. Slices of Heaven! We stopped in for a couple of slices after walking around Wynwood and man im glad we did. Joes is a small store front that feels like you are walking into a NYC pizza shop. The counter has all the pies you could ask for and once you're done looking through the glass, you come to the end, tell them what you want and they ring you up quick and your slices go right in the oven. They came out a few minutes later and they were HOT. Nice and crispy from the reheat and all the cheese was melty and delicious. Sauce is perfect balanced and we hammered the slices quick! I have to say, the pizza at Joe's is absolutely fantastic -- truly one of the best slices I've had in a long time. Perfectly crisp crust, just the right amount of cheese, and deliciously balanced flavors. If this review were based on food alone, it would be a full 5 stars without hesitation. However, the customer service experience left a lot to be desired. I encountered an issue with the cashier, who told me her name was Samantha. I simply asked to purchase a small container so I could take some Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, and garlic to go -- a request I've made at many pizza spots before without issue, especially when I'm happy to pay for it. Unfortunately, Samantha was extremely dismissive and told me point-blank that her boss does not allow them to sell containers to anyone buying just a single slice of pizza. As someone who works in hospitality myself, I understand the importance of policies -- but there's a way to communicate things respectfully. Samantha's attitude was unwelcoming and unnecessarily curt, especially as I was trying to be polite and reasonable. She even took a sip from her water bottle mid-conversation, then flatly told me, "For you, my name is Samantha," when I asked for her name. I took a bite out of this, and I was suddenly back at Fulton St NY. This is legit. I initially thought I could tackle 2 slices but after the one I was done. They're quite sizeable and you can taste the good quality ingredients. We were trying to compare this pizza to one we had had in Miami Beach called Giotti's which also has really good reviews and the truth is that it's not fair to judge them in the same category. Giotti's is traditional, Italian style pizza while Joe's is distinctly NY, and if that's what you're looking for, you have the best here in Wynwood. This is probably my favorite pizza in the Wynwood/Downtown/Little Havana area. I like that they sell by the slice and that the slices are thin NY style. The portions are also huge. The service is fast, friendly, and overall efficient. They have indoor and outdoor seating and are often fairly busy with people spilling out on peak nights. I'm honestly gifting an extra star on this review. NY looking pizza with no flavor and too much sauce. Ordered a plain pie and the sauce overpowered all other flavors. I had to pour a ton of crushed red pepper flakes and some oregano and still mostly tasted the pizza sauce. The dough wasn't that good either, kind of rubbery texture, had to throw it in the oven for 10 minutes to actually cook it. As a born/raised NY'er, I think I know good pizza. Outside the big apple, quality pizza is elusive. Especially in Miami. In my ongoing search for above par pizza, I tried Joe's. I know the brand from NYC, where I give it 7.5-8/10. My hesitation to Joe's is the prohibitive expense. Nowhere should a pizza be $35+. But, with delivery and tip, it's a $40 pizza. And, being in post-trendy pseudo hipster Wynwood is not an excuse or explanation. My pizza tested Joe's. 1/2 cheese, the other 1/2 sausage/pepperoni. First observation - the 1/2 meat was not shy on the toppings. Second, the mozzarella and cheeses were quality, little to no orange oily buildup. The surrounding crust was crispy and properly charred. I was hopeful. But, accolades end there. Sausage was just ok. The pepperoni was equally humdrum. Both lacked punch. Despite the structured crust, pizza was generally soggy. The seasoning lacking entirely; the sauce was sugary sweet without any seasoned character. Added oregano and crushed red pepper did nothing to adequately salvage. A subtle pinch of salt was also no saving touch. Poor foundation couldn't be built up. Not the worst, but quite disappointed - particularly after spending $42.00.
