An opulent failed attempt at fine dining. At first glance, the place is impressive -- beautiful cars outside, constant traffic of guests walking in, crisp white tablecloths setting the stage for what appears to be a refined dining experience. Unfortunately, the illusion fades rather quickly. The first sign of trouble arrives with the server sporting a rather impressive lip piercing, followed closely by a colleague whose diamond nose stud could probably be seen from space. Not exactly the ambiance one expects when aiming for "elegant." Despite the abundance of servers floating around the dining room, none seem to notice when your knife dramatically dives off the table and lands on the floor -- where it enjoys a long, lonely stay. Water service is also quite innovative: they simply leave the entire bottle at the table, which seems less about generosity and more about avoiding the inconvenience of returning to refill your glass. The food? Sadly just as uninspired. From the octopus to the $68 Milanese, every dish managed the impressive feat of being completely flavorless. The Milanese arrived with a beautiful crust, which raised hopes... until you realized there was no sauce, no garnish, and nothing to rescue what turned out to be a remarkably bland plate. Meanwhile, the staff appears deeply committed to minimizing effort -- though not shy about judging you directly when the tip doesn't meet their expectations. All in all, this place feels like fine dining in costume. Perhaps a return to the basics of hospitality and service would be a good start... followed by a serious conversation with whoever is currently in the kitchen. Came here the other day for dad's birthday. First off, let me say that this place is absolutely stunning and that the staff is absolutely incredible. We ordered a couple of apps and they were all amazing, would go out of my way to 100% recommend the octopus. Ordered the miami spice lineup for myself and the food was spectacular, got the swordfish as my entree and it was great. The reason this is a 4 and not a 5 is because of the rest of the entrees that were ordered. For some of what my family ordered I would agree and say that the apps were better. The cacio e Pepe was great, the steak was ok, the veal Milanese was ok, and a couple other things not pictured were ok. Will I come back to try more? Absolutely! read more

We decided on a last minute Christmas Eve dinner with my family. We stopped by Osteria with our fingers crossed that they would have a table available for us without a reservation. We got lucky and the hostess actually seated us almost right away. The staff is amazing and friendly. Usually on big holidays restaurants in Miami are short staffed and service always suffers. Osteria's energy was warm and beyond welcoming. We ordered the calamari again and it was wonderfully crispy. For our Entrees we had the steak with a side of asparagus and pappardelle ossobuco. Steak was perfectly seasoned. The veal pasta sauce was out of this world. Honestly I think stopping by Osteria might be our Christmas Eve tradition from now on. We had high hopes being this had 4.9 on Google reviews and 4.8 here on Yelp. Started with the Caesar Salad which was almost a chopped that was very lightly dressed and tasted more like a cafeteria or bag cesar than any sort of restaurant Caesar salad. Also some of my lettuce was browned/redenned which means its old, been sitting. Croutons were hard-spongy, not crisp. Then had Spaghetti Alle Vongale, but they didnt have any clams left so just had the pasta. Pasta was overcooked. Sauce, ehhh Carbone or Raos jarred is better...even Aldis select better. Chianti was nice. Bread on table was the best part, warm, crispy crust. Skip, there are plenty of other italian restaurants that are more authentic, use fresher ingredients and dont come out of a bag. Our server, female, was lovely and attentive. (Shes the woman in the pinned post form 7/25/24 on IG- bravo woman. Tip: Skip the valet and park across the street in what looks like a wierd alleyway. I've driven past Osteria more than a couple of times, but Miami's bottomless supply of trendy spots and old classics sometimes cause you to miss out on neighborhood gems like this one. Located right on Biscayne Boulevard and just past 79th Street, this little bistro was a cozy spot for Italian dining. They have a mix of both inside dining as well as a covered terrace. We initially sat there, but were able to be moved to the inside area (with better AC). Our group started with their meatball appetizer. Although they originally come plain they are served in a bowl of a deliciously robust marinara that can be served to anyone's liking (I am a sauce hog). I can say they were tasty even without the sauce. Our second app was their creamy burrata ball with fresh tomatoes and a tableside service of their plum tomato granita. Although their menu favors seafood dishes (and why I'm keeping off one star) I was able to find an aromatic and delicious Fig Ravioli with a warm gorgonzola sauce & crispy Prosciutto. The portion was generously sized for leftovers the next day. I also made sure to leave some space for their jiggly and berry-covered panna cotta. This started off started shaky with when they served the table side bread- it didn't taste freshly baked and they served no butter or balsamic just oil! I was suprised there was nothing to put on the bread but after asking the waitress she brought us balsamic. We ordered from the regular menu and Miami spice. This artichoke and pecerino and cheese dip was served with a pizza style bread. They served it cold and it just wasn't the vibe. The flavor of the pasta with clams was good -however the pasta was wayy before al dente.The mushroom fettuccine from Miami spice was very basic and lacking flavor. Given that the pasta was a little hard they were kind enough to bring us the tiramisu complimentary. Round of applause for this dessert - because it was spoon licking good. I came here for a girls dinner with my good girl friend on Friday night (1/9/26) and the service was HORRIBLE and the food was even WORSE!!!! we waited OVER 45 min for 2 pasta dishes (not steak, not fish) regular pasta and clams. they rushed our food because when the food eventually DID come the pasta was VERY undercooked and bland, and the clams were FULL of sand meaning they weren't properly cleaned. im assuming because we were a small table of 2 women, they completely ignored us the whole evening. we had to wave down our server more than twice for another glass of wine and it was a different person approaching the table each time. when it was time to ask for the check another person brought us the machine to tap and pay and they said "don't worry the tip is already included" WHY?! i have no issue paying a tip on a service, but the service needs to be attentive and professional, EVEN IF ITS A SMALL TABLE. this place is trash. don't even waste your time or your money coming here, there are FARRR better Italian restaurants in Miami that have way better quality of pasta, ingredients and service. read more

This week we tried Osteria and we're giving a 10/10 for food, service (thanks to Angelo) and ambiance. We tried all 3 Antipasti on the menu- they were all phenomenal and large portions! CARCIOFI E PECORINO POLPETTE BURRATA CAPRESE For dinner we tried: TAGLIATA DI MANZO RADIATORI AL PESTO E RICOTTA FETTUCCINE AI FUNGHI E PARMIGIANO And for dessert they brought a birthday tiramisu & we tried the SEMIFREDDO AL FRUTTO DELLA PASSIONE and a Nutella spin on this one. I hosted a group of 8 local executives as part of our supper club. This restaurant came recommended so we wanted to give it a try. Here is a recap of my "customer journey": I was not able to get a hold of anyone at the restaurant in advance of our reservation: I tried email, instagram - zero response. This should have been a red flag. The restaurant is located on Biscayne Blvd with a parking lot right in front. They charge $5 valet for leaving your car in the parking spot (also attendant is making sure you don't forget to tip him. Zero English but that he knows how to ask for the tip). Ambience is 5 stars - beautifully decorated and pleasant music. We got a very nice table - grateful! Service was prompt and attentive - grateful! Food - this is one thing I won't go back for. The only thing was worth noting was veal appetizer. The rest - octopus, fritura mista and even caprese (how do you mess up sliced tomatoes? By serving tomato that's green inside and supermarket quality), pasta, branzino - all were bad to mediocre. Sorry, Chef, it was not restaurant quality, I make better at home. Value - overpriced menu - $66 dollar fish with no side? You kidding? I'd rather go to Cipriani. Overall, not worth coming back to. There are plenty of great Italian restaurants in Miami. Osteria did not differentiate itself in a good way. read more

We came to osteria for date night and we give it a 20 out 10! From the ambiance to the food selection everything was great. The staff was so pleasant from the hostess, to the server to the manager were always checking on us to make sure we were doing well. We had the meatballs (they need to be labeled Worlds Best Meatballs) because they were truly the best we've ever had. The Calamari was very flavorful which also included some fried veggies and shrimp. For our entree I had the crab stuff ravioli and he had the rib eye. Of course the star of the show as the Tiramisu table side presentation. The restaurant had a great selection of wines as well. We can't wait to go again. read more

It's very telling how much we enjoyed Osteria's service and food by the fact that we dined there not once, but twice, in a week's span! The first night, my husband and I shared the cotoletta alla Milanese and the spaghetti alle vongole. The milanese was perfectly cooked, and the vongole and pasta were fresh and satisfying. The other couples raved about their dishes! (We were there as a group of 8, after a high school reunion.) The second night, our table of four shared the frittura mista which had the perfect light fry level. I had the tagliata di manzo, which everyone loved - it was the perfect balance of on-point temperature (I asked for medium rare) and dimensional seasoning to a lovely piece of steak. My husband had the scaloppine ai funghi, and let me just say - we left a clean plate. The staff, from the attentive manager to the knowledgeable servers to the talented chefs (you can peer into the open kitchen) were welcoming, warm, and accommodating. We'll be back!! :D read more
