    Little gem salad

Mika is a beautiful restaurant! Located in the heart of coral gables it is dimly lit, has a beautiful bar, and spacious seating. Our waiter came quickly, but he was rude and stressed. I am able to overlook him because the food was delicious. The bread service was delicious with flaky, soft focaccia w/ herbs and a whipped butter/cream dip. So good. Then he had the caesar salad. the spicy breadcrumbs added a nice touch. The meat was juicy and tasty and cooked to perfection with a side of mushrooms. The black truffle pasta was amazing! Definitely get this! Incredible to pair with the meat. I had seen a picture of the mini ice cream cones, but it was not on the menu. I asked the waiter if we could order, he lied to my face to say they were out of stock. Then i look at the table of girls next to me and guess what they are eating... CONES! The water boy let the cat out of the bag-- that the manager only gives them to "special people". So i asked to speak to the manager, and then the cones showed up. Very unprofessional and this broke my trust. But at least I got the cones. But we also got the tiramisu and it was the top 5 ive ever had, delicious! Moral of the story-- still go for the food, but dont expect honesty from the waitstaff.

Mika is a lovely restaurant located in Coral Gables. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. The decor inside the restaurant was clean and elegant. They also had convenient street parking and valet available. We went to lunch during the week. The restaurant was quite full and we made sure to have a reservation. They have a lunch menu that includes options for two or three course meals. We ordered the three course. I had the octopus appetizer, branzino entrée and the panna cotta dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. Even the bread that is provided for the table was very toasty and had an olive oil and citrus flavor. To complement the bread, they had a ricotta spread that was just perfect. Highly recommend Mika.

Mika is 5 star dining , hands down! Definitely ask for the specials, although their regular menu is great . We had the tagliatelle (with shaved white truffles which happened to be in season) in a light butter sauce. This dish was literally mind blowing !!! I've had many versions at different restaurants, through the years and this one superseded the finest one we've ever experienced ( at cafe Milano in Washington DC back in the early 2000's!) Their bread service is fresh & delicious and complimentary ! It's accompanied by a ricotta / olive oil spread. We asked and were told one of chef Mike white ' s signature dish is the saffron gnocchiette , so we ordered that , as well. My husband raved about it , adding he would never have chosen that particular dish off of the menu. He was so happy we asked about the special s from an Italian server! He would've ordered the mushroom risotto, which now gives us another reason to return ! My white truffle pasta was so beyond that i couldn't bare the thought of tasting anything else ! I had it in my mind to have a side of wild mushrooms with the pasta , but we obviously boxed this up for later. Their gelato is the best I've had , as well , but didn't order it this evening because the taste of the white truffle pasta was perfection! ... next time ! I've dined at Mika several times with girlfriends for lunch, dinner with my husband in the dining room, and have also enjoyed pasta and wine at the bar. The ambience here is beautiful , modern and classy.

Starting the year with a seriously memorable bite Dinner at Mika's did not disappoint. The service was impeccable and the ambiance is top notch. Silky wagyu crudo, a perfectly cooked Dover sole, and a menu that truly doesn't miss. One of those meals you keep thinking about long after the last bite. Foodies--add this to your list.

Nice for a special occasion - THE PLACE: Located in Coral Gables, plenty of paid street parking is available, but can be tricky to find. The restaurant is beautiful and very aesthetic for simple pictures. Bar, tables & booths available. THE FOOD: We came to have my husbands birthday lunch, and found that the restaurant had a 2-course and 3-course menu. We went with the 2 course, which involves an app and the entree. For apps, we went with the grilled octopus 4/5, & little gem Caesar 5/5 - honestly this was the bets Caesar salad ive ever had, from taste to texture! Both apps were a good size and shareable between two people. For entrees, my husband had the chicken Caesar Milanese 5/5 incredible! Youve never had this dish, unless you've had it here! EXTREMELY fresh, crispy, moist - so good! I had the skirt steak 4/5 good portion, tender, and had a nice char taste at the top - the salad that came with it was ok, not bad, but not great- the leaves got soggy quickly too. I also had fries, and those were good, crispy outside, soft inside and salted well. THE SERVICE: Service was ok, good, but left more to be desired. Upon entering, the host (which I think was the owner or manager) was fantastic. Upon seating, the waiter came a few mins after - I didnt get his name, and he handed the the menus to us and left. There wasnt an introduction, a welcome or recommendations or any form - I hated that. It makes the guest feel unimportant. The team came, and brought us bread with riccotta spread 5/5. The waiter came back and got our drink order and didn't seem as rigid, but not very conversational - spoke to a minimum and had his personality switch off. When we placed our entrée order, I had to ask for recommendations and house favorites - instead of it being freely offered. Yes, these may be considered small things, but changes the experience of the guest and weather they would return or recommend a restaurant.

Ever since I saw Mika pop up, I immediately added it to my list of must try spots and I'm so glad I did! We came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and it ended up being the perfect choice for the special occasion. The space is absolutely stunning. Modern, warm, and beautifully designed, with an ambiance that strikes the right balance between upscale and relaxed. We got some cocktails and my boyfriend ordered an old fashion to start, which we both enjoyed. We ordered the tuna tartare with caviar and Japanese milk bread, along with the grilled octopus that came with crispy potatoes and a chorizo vinaigrette. I honestly can't tell you which one was better! They wete both insanely good and every bite was flavorful, and beautifully presented. For the main course, we shared the 24 oz Ribeye and got a side of the truffle potato purée. The steak was cooked to perfection, super tender, juicy and not that fatty. The potatoes were velvety and rich and had the perfect hint of truffle to complement the steak. I had every intention of trying one of their pastas, but I was way too full , even skipped dessert, which is rare for me! Luckily, when we mentioned it was my boyfriend's birthday, they brought out a dessert on the house, which was such a thoughtful touch. I already can't wait to come back but next time, I'm definitely making room for the pasta!

Mika was delicious! I came to Mika for lunch to try their set menu and it was incredibly good. Portions are just right and you will not leave hungry. As soon as we arrive for our reservation our table was ready as promised. The wine list is excellent... lots of wines, most over $125 but a great selection. Their set menu is about 45 for a 3 course experience which was just perfect. We had for appetizers the hamachi tiradito and the lobster burrata. Both were delicious. For our main course we had the branzino which comes with grilled asparagus and also the fresh pasta with crab meat and seafood. (I forgot the actual name) everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. For dessert I recommend having the chocolate cake. It is creamy, luscious and indulging without being too sweet. Definitely recommend coming here.

What a great experience at this place. The service was beyond amazing, the food was amazing and the cocktails keep you wanting more. Place is very nice and a perfect place to eat with family or for a nice date! Overall a great place to go enjoy some great Mediterranean food.

Ambiance and vibes are definitely there! It's a super aesthetic place; perfect for a date night or impressing a loved one. However, the food falls short. I came here with a coworker and we dined from the Miami Spice menu. The dishes sounded delicious, but once we tasted them, they were pretty underwhelming. For the price, the flavors just didn't match the value. Overall, it's a beautiful spot with great atmosphere, but the food didn't quite live up to the presentation.

Beautiful spot in the heart of Coral Gables. I went in on Tuesday for my birthday lunch with a couple of friends and I def made the right decision! Service was impeccable and we were treated extra special since it was my bday so that was definitely a nice touch. They have 2-course and 3-course specials for lunch that are decently priced and all the food was high quality and delicious! Some of my favs were the wahoo and the mushroom risotto, but everything was spectacular. I cannot wait to go back for dinner or happy hour and try more things. Their lounge area is gorgeous so I am sure it would be nice to hang out there as well! I will definitely be back!

Mika is beautiful! Went for lunch. Nice that they offer a 2 or 3 pre fixe menu Ordered the hamachi for appetizer. Nice slice of hamachi with the most delicious toppings For main I went with the Kafka. Tender tasty and large portion. Delicious frites and tzatziki sauce Service was on point. Presentation was beautiful

New fav in Miami. Not kidding this is some of the best food, service, drinks, atmosphere, and attention to detail that Miami was desperately missing. Absolutely exquisite preparation for both food and drinks here. They are definitely on their way to the Michelin list. Highly suggest coming here for ANY reason, but especially for a date, night out, or celebration.

    Hamachi crudo
    Kylie B.

I've been to Mika twice and both times were excellent! The hamachi crudo is a MUST - truly delicious and a perfect appetizer. On my most recent trip, I got the saffron gnocchetti, which was incredible - it was super filling, so definitely something to get if you're super hungry. I split the budino with my friend and OMG - the richest chocolate dessert. So good. The sommelier was also incredibly helpful and found us a great Chianti that went well with our meals - my friend got the tagliatelle and really enjoyed it, as well. The place has a cool vibe - it's not necessary to dress super fancy, but it does have an upscale feel (so probably not the place to roll up to in cutoff jean shorts). I will most definitely be back.

From the moment we sat down, the guy looked annoyed that we were there. Zero greeting, zero eye contact. We waited almost 10 minutes just to get acknowledged while he was chatting with another customers at the other end of the bar. When he finally took our order, he barely listened. I asked for a classic Old Fashioned and he brought me something that tasted like watered-down whiskey with too much bitters and a random orange slice thrown in. My friend's whiskey sour was unbalanced -- definitely not worth the $18 price tag. I politely mentioned to recommend us another drinks options he just shrugged and said "we don't have that" Not offer another choice or an apology. The drinks were mediocre at best, but his attitude made it worse. He ignored us most of the night and acted annoyed every time we ordered. Zero professionalism. The place has a great vibe but with service like this, is not worth to spend almost $200 dollars there for few drinks. I don't remember his name but he was tall, Latin and maybe from Colombia. Unlike some other reviewers that scoffed at the prices of the wine, that didn't bother me so much. We had a bottle here that cost $55 and it retails for about $28; I was OK with that, as all restaurants and wine bars have a markup above retail, and even when you go to spots like Happy Wine or El Carajo and pick out a bottle to drink while in their shop, they charge a corkage fee for that. What I did have a problem with is that, after the "service charge" and other fees were added on, our $55 bottle rang up to more than $73 in total, which was ludicrous. When we first arrived at Magie we were met by a young guy who pointed out the bottles and where the various charcuterie items are located in the coolers, and we were then pretty much left on our own. We really just wanted a glass of wine each, but unlike places like Vinoteca, here at Magie they had a very limited selection of wines by the glass, and the ones available all seemed to come in single-serve cans. We picked out a bottle to share, went to the register, paid and the guy opened it and handed us 2 glasses. When I returned to get napkins, the guy just motioned to where the napkins were so I could grab my own (after moving a delivery cart out of the way by myself so I could reach them). Again, though this place includes an automatic "service charge", we received zero actual "service" unless one considers the 45 seconds it takes to uncork our bottle and charge us for the purchase. We had a seat, had a glass of wine each and then re-corked our bottle of wine and took it with us. Overall I think Magie is a great concept with lots of potential. The inside seating area is interestingly decorated and outfitted with lots of eclectic furniture and items on the walls, and the relatively large patio seating out front with tables for 2 to 8 people is shielded from the adjacent street/traffic and shaded by lots of trees and greenery. The ambiance overall is really very nice. The service, however, was non-existent, especially considering the automatic charge for that, and while prices of at least some wines aren't terribly out of line, the fact that all the service charges, taxes and fees added $20 to the cost of our bottle was a bit of a shocker. Magie should consider adding more wines by the glass IMO. Not just subpar quality single-serve cans, but decent wines, poured from a proper bottle with a topper that preserves the wine between pours like most every quality wine bar commonly offers. Lastly, while I don't think anyone expects linen napkins and white glove service, the paper plates and plastic cutlery customers are given to eat with are a bit off vs. what this place appears to be trying to be and the prices charged. The "F*ck Brunch" positioning statement on the back of the staffs' shirts was an interesting touch.

The first location in the River is better imo because the location is bigger, there is plenty more seating than the Grove location. Although, I still enjoyed my time at this location as well. Sooo how it works is that you go inside and pick a bottle of wine from the fridges. You can also order by the glass if you aren't a big drinker or if you want to try different wines. The bottles are moderately priced depending on your selection. We chose an orange wine and it was nice, very refreshing, you can really get that citrus essence with every sip. Another thing that they have is that you can pick different cheeses and meats and they will build you a charcuterie board. I love this because it is all based on your selection, nothing will go to waste. They also have food you can order. A lot of people love the nuggets with caviar. I think they are decent imo but I'm not like in love with them. Parking can be a bit annoying... If there isn't street parking, you can also park in the garage. The service was good, the staff was friendly. The only thing that was a hassle was getting a table. We had to wait a bit in order for a table to become available. Overall, this spot is a very cozy place to hang and mingle with friends.
