After we repeatedly asked for the bill, she finally brought it over while apologizing and, unsurprisingly, we discovered that gratuity had already been added, causing us to pay extra for tips. We didn't want to be petty and just left but she did not even serve us water. The person who brought out our food was the one who asked whether we wanted water and brought it to us. Been going to The Bar for years. Usually Carlos and Brie take care of me. For the last 2 weeks they have been out of Miller Highlite "The Champagne of Beers". Been drinking coors light or michalobe ultra light. The cooler on the back corner is the coldest cooler in the bar. I set up shop there. Today walked in and dealt with a girl I have seen a lot but do not know. asked for the coldest beer she had and she handed me a coor light . Asked her for the coldest in the cooler and she looked me in the eye and said if you don't like it go to another bar. Ok I did. Thought that the treatment From her was worse until this experience with the Man bun guy insisted I give him a credit card for a happy hour beer. I said Carlos and Brie don't ask me for a card plus I pay cash. He kept pointing to a small sign saying"it's the policy dude". I said no"dude I have seen you in here for the past years. It's broad daylight and no one is here. Even if I make a run for it you will see me a mile away". Not sure how you can have bartenders as cool and professional as Carlos and Brie and then polar opposite as "go to another bar" girl and man bun guy. Regardless. The DJ was playing throwback hits. Then I came on a Saturday around midnight with a friend and it was a party. It was jam packed and so much dancing. I loved my time here. When it is packed it's hard to get a drink but this is normal for a packed bar so no biggie. read more

So first off, the service here is great! It's your typical dive bar that actually has the best bartenders in the sense of attention and needs. However, there were several men harassing me and no one on staff prevented it from happening they only were saying hey sorry about that after or "I just saw men talking to her". I really had a genuine time here and shout out to the best service but it's really unfortunate because I felt unsafe after. Will you dance like no one is watching, despite the dance floor being packed? Yes, yes you will. But, because the pours are STRONG and the music is great...the end of the night will likely be a total mystery when you eventually wake up at 12 pm the next day. How many gin and tonics were consumed? Whose bed is this? What happened to my shoes? All these questions are ones I've asked myself after a night out at The Bar. Since I moved back to Coral Gables in 2021, this bar has been responsible for a good 80%-85% of all the hangovers I've experienced since then. There's no frills here, but what more do you need than drinks and good music with friends. There is plenty of seating inside and outside, with bars in both spaces too. On two different occasions they've refused to explain confusing policies, belittled me for a lack of understanding, made sarcastic remarks concerning a medical condition I have, and in one instance when I became overwhelmed and told a friend that I can't stay here any longer, a bouncer replied with "good." read more

Came to this bar on a Friday night around 8pm. It wasn't packed yet so that was nice. The staff was all dressed up for Hallo-weekend so that was cool. It all went downhill when the bartender dressed up like gladiator made us terrible shots with an attitude. Then I ordered a draft beer and it was warm. I told me friends and they had been told by another bartender that they didn't have draft because it was down. So why did this guy sell me a beer knowing the taps were down? Either way their beers were warm too. We also ordered an app and that was okay. We ended up going back to Coyo Taco's secret lounge were the music, service, food and drinks were way better. The guys on staff are cool dudes. Friendly and comfortable to stand around. Three fun nights in a row and we will comeback again. The Bar is a great place to grab a drink at whatever time. It's 5 o'clock somewhere right? I love this bar. It's one of my go to places in Miami. It's like my Cheers except no one really knows my name here lol. But every time I come here it's a good time. They have an inside and outside area. The inside is of course a full bar while the outside just has standard drinks. They normally have a DJ on weekends and I believe during the week they have different events. I come here anytime I go to the Gables. It's usually the last bar I go to. To end the night. This particular night I stuck to the same drink I was having at Tap 42. A Moscow mule. It was made by a guy at the bar. It was absolutely horrible. I complained something I rarely do. I said it tasted bad. The girl I complained to tasted it. She too said it was horrible. She made me a new one and I was so happy I complained! It was delicious and well made. When I ordered it again (not from her super mistake) it was bad again. So I decided to stick to a beer which they do have a great selection. This bar is meant to have a good time. Period. I'm not too happy some of the bartenders can't make drinks but I am happy with the venue and the music. It's a go to place for people not from Miami. read more

Came here on a semi busy Friday night for some drinks. We found a table in the back and the server showed up promptly to take our orders. The drinks were okay, but the nachos were a bit stale. I asked the waitress twice for water, but we never got them. To make matters worse, when she asked us to pay, she didn't tell us that the service charge was already included. The place to be on a FRIDAY NIGHT is THE BAR! Fellas, you will catch a lot of ladies at the bar after 5pm. Ladies drink Free every Friday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The DJ keeps it bumping with cool tunes and a lot of old hip-hop which I love. The bartenders are nice and helpful. I've never experienced the side eye because of all the free drinks they keep making but then again I do make sure to always tip them. I make sure I have some cash cause they treat me well with them nice, strong drinks. I have to warn you yes it looks like a whole in the hall, but trust me it isn't; take a chance and go. It's located on Giralda Avenue, also known as Giralda Under the Stars where the umbrellas used to be and now they have the #sunlit. As you walk in The Bar you see their main bar in the middle surrounded by the dance floor and some tables and chairs. If you keep walking to the back you will see their outside bar playing different music from the inside. This is where you will spot the smokers - it has an even more chill vibe. I tend to hang out inside jamming to my old school hip hop music. This last time I came it was for an event (Boo's @ The Bar), which I have to give it to The Bar they were demonstrating excellent customer service - super attentive. This is definitely one of my favorite bars on Friday nights in the Gables. I usually start here and end my night at Tarpon Bend. I've had some great memories at The Bar and hope to keep making more memories. read more

Really unhappy with my service... or should i say lack there of. Came to the area to check outthe new installation by Jessy Nite and with the rain decided to take refuge at this establishment. I got there a little after my friends.. it was slow when we got there so only the bar staff was working.. the woman at the bar gave me a water and never returned... after waiting a long time to order and realizing she wasn't coming back i went to the bar to place my order. Well they were so caught up in their coversations at the bar they didnt pay attention and one of the patron pointed out that i had been waiting.. i finally put in my order. After it came out i finished my meal.. no one ever came back for refills or to alow us to get more drinks so we decided to just ask for the check. The gentleman at the bar cleared out table and basically never brought the check back... Again we wait.... finally we approach the bar so we can just pay and leave and again we are ignored for a long time... at this point i decide im over it and not coming back .. esp when THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER OPTIONS IN THE AREA WITH BETTER SERVICE. At the end i did leave a tip because i just don't have it in me to not leave anything but its def way lower than i would have of.. even if the service was just ok...
