We stopped into Duffy's for lunch before heading to the airport to return back home to Washington. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Duffy's is family friendly. Cash only establishment; credit cards are not accepted. ATM is on premises. An 18% service charge is added to parties of 4+. I loved the nostalgic and creative way items were refurbished throughout Duffy's. I couldn't resist browsing the entire place looking at photographs and newspaper articles. There are TVs throughout. There is quite a large outdoor covered seating area to watch televised sporting events or just to seat large parties. While perusing the menu, I sipped on a Bloody Mary. My first Bloody Mary that was served without any of the vegetables. Odd. For my meal I chose the BLT Sandwich with Potato Salad as the side for $8.95. I always love a good BLT and Duffy's did not disappoint. Staff was friendly and took pride in their home-state. Prices were fair. Food was tasty. Thank you, Duffy's, for sending us home satisfied.

Get here for a cold one before it's gone. My mother weaned me off the teat onto a bottle at Duffy's. Growed up here. Got to second base here. Almost lost my cowboy boots playing pool back when they had a table. It will be hard to find, but my picture is up there on the wall, and on a table. Cold beer, burgers....what more do you want from a TRUE neighborhood bar? An icon in Miami. Hurricane games. Cheap beer. Great friends. Good times. I heard a group is looking to buy it / save it. Hope they do. Bring it back like Fox's. The Bar Preservation Society.. I like the ring of that.

I've been coming to this place for over 20 years. This is an entity in coral Gables, although is not within the city limits, but it is next to it, I almost always ordered the steak, although there is no Argentinian, Brazilians, Uruguayans or Paraguay staff in the kitchen which are the masters at beef , The chef in the back is just a rockstar, I recently reviewed another place in the Gables with a terrible steak choice. They should come here and learn a little. Everything in the menu is really good. We have bar food and regular food as well as amazing soups every day. I hope if it ever get sold the new owners keep it alive, A lot of us grew up coming here . Of course, I will be coming back many times per month ! Congratulations, wayne ( grandpa) :)

My experience here was a short one we just wanted to grab something to eat and go home and rest. Cash only (We came prepared..can't say the same for the other 2 guests in my party lol) When they bring the bill it's just a number scribbled on a paper... no itemized receipt.. I had to ask for it on the way out... (If you're gonna charge cash we should know what our bill is with a breakdown) -* knocked a star for this reason Groups of 4+ they add a 18% gratuity automatically... I don't mind this at all But servers seem disconnected and over it We ordered App- conch fritters (very greasy and small) Black grouper Spicy With sweet potato fries (came out old) We sent them back and the 2nd batch was perfect Mushroom burger With steak cut fries (it was basically a potato cut into 4 ) not what we expected and cold 2 Bacon burger 1 with onion rings 1 with regular fries All the burger buns were NOT toasted and in turn broke apart as we were eating it... :( -* knock a star for these misses the greasy fritters, cold buns, and the cold fries It was a slow night for Saturday art Basel weekend. Games playing on every TV Kitchen and bar looked clean $$ with tip $78

Had a wonderful evening with friends celebrating a milestone birthday, at the Iconic Duffy's Tavern . It was great bar food, but I opted for the Pastrami sandwich. No need to travel north for a good ole pastrami on rye. Service was good, atmosphere festive. Prices very reasonable. Stop by sometime ...

We made a reservation prior to coming because in order to make it inside you need to book a reservation. The establishment is small which is why you have to reserve. We came at around 10:45 and our reservation was for 11:00. They sat us down right away. The vibes are chill and cool, there's a dj playing music. It was like house, tech vibes. The music was great and people were enjoying their time. We had 1 cocktail each and went on our way because we just came to check out the spot honestly. I had the fabulous martini which has a purple hue to it, it was very refreshing. I love that they garnish it with a lavender. The espresso martini was made with Don Julio Reposado, and had real fresh espresso as per the menu. It was good but a bit strong too! We had asked for an extra shot of espresso on the side just as a pick me up. But our server told us that it comes cold, which is odd because the menu literally says freshly brewed espresso in the cocktail description. It was fine though, we still enjoyed the drinks. Overall, our experience was nice! If you are ever in the Hialeah area, you should totally check this spot out. They also have bites you can order but we were full from dinner and didn't get a chance to try anything. Definitely have to come back to try some more cocktails and grab some bites!

We waited almost 10 minutes just to get acknowledged while he was chatting with another customers at the other end of the bar. When he finally took our order, he barely listened. I asked for a classic Old Fashioned and he brought me something that tasted like watered-down whiskey with too much bitters and a random orange slice thrown in. My friend's whiskey sour was unbalanced -- definitely not worth the $18 price tag. I politely mentioned to recommend us another drinks options he just shrugged and said "we don't have that" Not offer another choice or an apology. The drinks were mediocre at best, but his attitude made it worse. He ignored us most of the night and acted annoyed every time we ordered. Zero professionalism. The place has a great vibe but with service like this, is not worth to spend almost $200 dollars there for few drinks. I don't remember his name but he was tall, Latin and maybe from Colombia. We just wanted to report his behavior to management but in a Saturday's night you just don't want to ruined more. Next.

The first location in the River is better imo because the location is bigger, there is plenty more seating than the Grove location. Although, I still enjoyed my time at this location as well. Sooo how it works is that you go inside and pick a bottle of wine from the fridges. You can also order by the glass if you aren't a big drinker or if you want to try different wines. The bottles are moderately priced depending on your selection. We chose an orange wine and it was nice, very refreshing, you can really get that citrus essence with every sip. Another thing that they have is that you can pick different cheeses and meats and they will build you a charcuterie board. I love this because it is all based on your selection, nothing will go to waste. They also have food you can order. A lot of people love the nuggets with caviar. I think they are decent imo but I'm not like in love with them. Parking can be a bit annoying... If there isn't street parking, you can also park in the garage. The service was good, the staff was friendly. The only thing that was a hassle was getting a table. We had to wait a bit in order for a table to become available. Overall, this spot is a very cozy place to hang and mingle with friends.

As others have stated, Magie is good in concept and we'll likely return here, but with just a bit…read moremore effort on their part this wine bar could be so much better IMO. Unlike some other reviewers that scoffed at the prices of the wine, that didn't bother me so much. We had a bottle here that cost $55 and it retails for about $28; I was OK with that, as all restaurants and wine bars have a markup above retail, and even when you go to spots like Happy Wine or El Carajo and pick out a bottle to drink while in their shop, they charge a corkage fee for that. What I did have a problem with is that, after the "service charge" and other fees were added on, our $55 bottle rang up to more than $73 in total, which was ludicrous. When we first arrived at Magie we were met by a young guy who pointed out the bottles and where the various charcuterie items are located in the coolers, and we were then pretty much left on our own. We really just wanted a glass of wine each, but unlike places like Vinoteca, here at Magie they had a very limited selection of wines by the glass, and the ones available all seemed to come in single-serve cans. We picked out a bottle to share, went to the register, paid and the guy opened it and handed us 2 glasses. When I returned to get napkins, the guy just motioned to where the napkins were so I could grab my own (after moving a delivery cart out of the way by myself so I could reach them). Again, though this place includes an automatic "service charge", we received zero actual "service" unless one considers the 45 seconds it takes to uncork our bottle and charge us for the purchase. We had a seat, had a glass of wine each and then re-corked our bottle of wine and took it with us. Overall I think Magie is a great concept with lots of potential. The inside seating area is interestingly decorated and outfitted with lots of eclectic furniture and items on the walls, and the relatively large patio seating out front with tables for 2 to 8 people is shielded from the adjacent street/traffic and shaded by lots of trees and greenery. The ambiance overall is really very nice. The service, however, was non-existent, especially considering the automatic charge for that, and while prices of at least some wines aren't terribly out of line, the fact that all the service charges, taxes and fees added $20 to the cost of our bottle was a bit of a shocker. Magie should consider adding more wines by the glass IMO. Not just subpar quality single-serve cans, but decent wines, poured from a proper bottle with a topper that preserves the wine between pours like most every quality wine bar commonly offers. Lastly, while I don't think anyone expects linen napkins and white glove service, the paper plates and plastic cutlery customers are given to eat with are a bit off vs. what this place appears to be trying to be and the prices charged. The "F*ck Brunch" positioning statement on the back of the staffs' shirts was an interesting touch.
