To call Eddie's Place a dive bar doesn't quite do it justice. That makes it sound like some decrepit old watering hole that gave up on itself years ago, and that's not the case here. Eddie's, established in the early 70s, feels more like a career criminal who found religion, just got out, and now swears he's trying to get his life together. Would a true dive keep a decades-old black-and-white tube TV around so you can watch your car? Additional amenities include an ATM, a combination photo booth/jukebox, and even a cell phone charging station, which means Eddie somehow supports bad decisions and the evidence they leave behind. This isn't Eddie's Bistro or Eddie's Café, it's just his Place, so don't show up expecting anyone to cook for you. Aside from chips, the bar skips food altogether. Still, Eddie's plays to its strengths: it encourages you to bring your own food or order in, as long as you keep the bartenders busy. "Cocktails" arrive in ribbed plastic cups, but shots and beer arrive in proper glassware, which is this bar's version of caviar service. A free pool table anchors the room, while one corner hosts beer pong and another area for old-timers to throw darts. Drinks run from $6 to $12, and Happy Hour sweetens the deal with 2-for-1 wells until 8 p.m. That special feels a little sad Monday through Wednesday, when the bar opens at 7 PM. However, it absolutely slaps Thursday through Sunday, when doors open at 2 PM. I rolled in after The Mandalorian & Grogu, which is exactly the kind of demoralizing movie that demands a drink. It was Goth Night, although the DJ seemed to be the only person who got the memo. She kept the room moving with dark house and classic goth tracks, giving the Place the energy of a house party with a fog machine and a hit-heavy playlist. Eventually, she veered from Bauhaus and Combichrist into Bruno Mars and Calvin Harris, which felt less like genre betrayal and more like a Wedding DJ loosening their tie. Eddie's Place delivers the holy trinity of a proper neighborhood bar: cheap booze, zero pretension, and just enough chaos to make you stay for one last round over and over again. read more

Nice place to chill drink and play pool comedy show funny will go back soon small place mostly college kids hang out there

Nice little dive bar!!! My friend suggested this place that he goes to near his place. It's a small bar but they definitely decorated for Halloween. They only had one pool table but it was free. The drinks were a great price and they even had a jukebox. I honestly think I spent more on picking songs than the drinks we had. Overall we had a great time and we will be back again. Service was great as well. Bartenders were super nice. read more

The security guard outside the door was extremely rude and not welcoming. Tall bald fat guy. This used to be my favorite bar and I would go every single month for goth night, even have participated in the costume events and always supported the bar. I came with 10 people to celebrate my friend's birthday that was going to come and the security guard said we were not allowed inside because we were hanging out in the parking lot. I'm a bit confused because I have been coming here since last year and that's never been an issue and there was also other people hanging out outside???? I asked what if we all individually buy a drink from the bar and he said no. mind you, I peeped inside when someone opened the door and it was empty inside, confused on why he's turning away customers. My friend said but we are a big group ready to support the bar? and his response was "now you're really not going to get inside I don't like your fucking attitude. She's stank as fuck" and I was in pure disbelief my jaw dropped. This has never happened to me throughout all the times I've come here monthly. I used to always bring a huge group to goth nights and it's really discouraging how this ruined something we were all looking forward too. To add: - there were also other people hanging out in the parking lot - Men harassing women outside the bar constantly - the security did not have the decency to warn our group about not being outside for too long which we would've understood. read more

I mean it's exactly what it needs to be. A hole in the wall extravaganza to have a drink and enjoy a nice night.

Love this bar is grunge it's divey it's cheap and it's a GOOD time , stopped by on a Tuesday and it was karaoke night ! Great vibes

Stopped in one Friday night on our way home from a fancy steak dinner. My wife was not ready to go home. I pulled to Eddies hoping she would be put off by the dive bar vibe and want to go home sooner than later. We had an amazing evening filled with copious amounts of whiskey shots and some of the most entertaining Karaoke I've ever experienced. The drinks are comparatively inexpensive although the selection is somewhat limited. We didn't experience any of the negative attitudes mentioned in other reviews. In fact, the young lady who was serving us was quite friendly and quick to refresh our drinks. The cast of characters that were participating in the Karaoke were very entertaining. Especially, Lobster Boy. It takes a lot of courage to go up and sing, i never summoned up the courage to do it myself. Maybe next time. There will absolutely, definitely be a next time for us at Eddies Place... read more

A good, open till' 5 am spot nothing more, nothing less. Female bartender in unnecessarily aggressive, nosey and doing the most. She had a huge ego trip, and just takes it way too far when it came to keeping customers in line. She was acting more like a security guard or bathroom attendant making sure people weren't in the bathroom for too long. At one point accusing me of "rolling a blunt" because she saw tobacco on the floor. It was ridiculous, and she should really focus more on making drinks and staying behind the bar considering how busy it gets, and how swamped the rest of the bartenders are. My experience was truly the opposite of the laid back vibes I come here for. I've enjoyed coming here in the past, but I just don't appreciate the general hostility in the air here. read more

Never in my life have I come to a bar like this. Came with a friend during happy hour (5-7pm buy one get one drink) and it was alright. Put some music on the juke box, played free pool and had a few cheap drinks. It was very empty, just a few others there when I was there. Unfortunately, the bathrooms smell horribly and aren't the cleanest. I did hear they have karaoke some nights and I am interested in going back for that one day. read more

Fun night of karaoke and reasonable priced drinks. I thought I had teleported out of Miami and that is a good thing. Highly recommend for a different type of experience, go with a good crowd read more

This place is not for the faint hearted. This is a home in the wall dive bar with a dark and dingy inside. I honestly love that we have one of these in this area, but it was really dead on a Tuesday night. Bartender said it wasn't usually that slow. They are open till 5am EVERYDAY. The drinks are cheap! Two whiskeys on the rocks for 9.50. They have a pool table and juke box, which are the only tunes you'll get in this place. It kinda sucks they don't have a radio or any background music so if someone isn't playing something in the juke box, it is quiet AF, which was a little awkward. read more

One of my favorite dive bars in Miami! Best entertainment you will get for FREE, just by people watching. Friday night karaoke is the best, such a vibe....The characters come after midnight; you are forewarned...This is where the real locals hang out. Rob & Corey are your typical a-hole bartenders, but try to understand the BS they put up with every shift they work; especially on a busy Friday night. I love them. Not everyone can tolerate my puteria & fxkery, but they do. Hospitality at its finest and I get it at a hole in the wall bar, in a shopping center, off 8st in West Kendall. Eddie is such a sweetheart too...PLP ! read more

There is NO better dive bar in Miami. I repeat, there is NO better dive bar in Miami than Eddie's place. I have been coming here for the last decade, and the fact that they have transformed to meet their guests' needs in every single way is honestly outmatched. This place GETS IT in a way that most bars just don't anymore. Your love and attention does not go unnoticed, thank you Eddie's for always being THAT place :) read more

Eddie's Place - Definitely coming back but bringing in some food with us! - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Miami, Florida

I know you might be shocked - "Elena, the wine lover, goes to dive bars?" Why yes, yes she does, because Elena would never turn away a vodka and club soda for $3.00. Thank you very much! I like dive bars. There is something to be said about establishments that have been around for 40 years when in Brickell, for example, a place closes every day. It says that alcoholics are loyal, if nothing else! My absolute favorite is Grady's in Fort Lauderdale but that is quite a drive for me so when I need my dive bar fix, this is where I go. Eddie's Place has been there for over 40 years. Then entire shopping all was built around it. I think Eddie himself may not be around anymore but who the heck knows. Things you need to know: 1. People are super friendly but you WILL NOT or rather, SHOULD NOT try to meet the man/woman of your dreams here. Just sayin.... 2. No credit cards - cash only! 3. Karaoke Night on the first Saturday of every month. This is good as you will ALWAYS sound like a star to the local drinkers that have been there since noon. 4. There are darts, a pool table, some "test your strength" kinda thing, and a super modern jukebox that has no business being there. Bring back the old kind for authenticity please! 5. Bathrooms are surprisingly clean. Cleaner than at many restaurants I've been to. 6. You will leave smelling like an ashtray and so will all your belongings so ladies, leave your expensive bags at home and invest in a huge bottle of Febreeze. 7. BAD NEWS: You may or may not develop lung cancer GOOD NEWS: The money you saved on drinks can go towards medical expenses. So if you want a good, cheap, stiff drink in a dark, smokey, friendly environment, stop by! If you want a South Beach crowd and Martinis that glow in the dark and cost $20 bucks, stay away. read more

See all

I love Eddies. I love the bartenders, Corey, Rob, Melba, and Theresa and the bar back, Joe. The regulars have become good friends, the karaoke host Walt is a gem. The drinks and shots are dirt cheap. The vibe is constantly "come as you are, and come to have fun". I come here as often as every week to sing karaoke, but it never gets old. Everyone is friendly and happy. It's easy to come here and meet people who can hold a conversation and share laughs with. I'll be honest, I used to frequent WAY more expensive and far places (downtown, Brickell, etc) and haven't missed them for a moment since. Another favorite aspect of me for Eddies is that they have something fun every night. Poker on Mondays. Karaoke Tuesdays. Game night on Wednesdays. Thursdays are for Beer Pong. Friday is karaoke again, and this gets packed. I strongly recommend fridays! Saturday there is live music and Sunday is free billiards! The players range from absolute newbies to pretty decent players! Come ready to make friends and have a blast. read more

Came in after a night of dinner and drinks on south beach.. just wanted to do one more round.. the place is a complete dive - but its close to the house and a nice little escape from all the pretentiousness.. lol The jukebox was steady pumping out Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, much to the "regulars" delights.. it was my first time so i cant honestly say they were regulars.. but they look like the kibnd of people that mightve been there for decades.. anyways, its good tohave a watering hole like this in my neighborhood and im sure i will be back read more

$4 dollar drinks Run down feel Quarters paid bar pool table Darts with different weight.. CASH Only.... mad suspicious! money laundry? lol New jukebox It was a Thursday night.. pretty empty. This place really is a dive. In all the best possible ways. From the moment we sat at the bar, manny the bartender made us feel at home. I have been going to Eddies for twenty years. The people there are not just regular customers/bartendars they become like family. It is a small bar where people get to know each other and share their work/life stories. Their prices are reasonable and they have everything you would need to relax you after a long day, pool tables, electronic dart board, modern jukebox, various tv's and an ATM machine if you are to tired to make it to the bank. This is a cash bar, please come join, you won't regret it. read more
