A must try local spot, ended up getting this sandwich with Grouper & cuatro leches for dessert. Cannot recommend it enough, been coming here since I was 9 y/o. Left the city for. a little and just recently came by the area for a 2 mile run. Parked over at the beach & crossed to road to gramps. Great service, tiki bar ambiance. Great people, great food with great times. You have the option to sit inside with A/C or outside. Be mindful, only valet parking in the area, for free parking, expect to cross the street and hope for parking at the beach. I will say, this is the Best Grouper sandwich i've had in my life.
Came to grab a quick lunch after the beach. It was a perfect meal to end the day. Ordered the fish dip which was flavorful and also a burger that was perfectly cooked. The waitress was very helpful with recommendations and making accommodations for my daughter with a kids meal. Ordered some grilled shrimp with fries that she loved.
If you are in the area you need to stop in! This is the ideal summer restaurant & summer meal. We split the watermelon salad & ceviche for apps. For sides we got the french fries and potato's that came with a yummy curry sauce. For my main I got the lobster roll. Everything was so good & the seafood was so fresh. The waitress was also very helpful & nice. Lastly, they had a cover band that added to the fun summer patio vibes.
First time coming here for sunset, and it was amazing! We had to wait about an hour to be seated, so i got an order of crinkle fries for the table at the bar. They were perfectly crispy and the perfect appetizer. The wait was worth it. The view of the Miami skyline is one of the best out there. Then we got to the mains. I had heard such good things about the lobster roll. It took me forever to decide between the cold and the hot. Ultimately, i went with my heart-- i always prefer cold. It was DELICIOUS on the hot fresh roll. A lot of the cold lobster meat with a delicious aioli. The smash burger also looked divine. The next time i come back, i may have to try the hot lobster roll. The service was very nice, easy to park, cheap valet. If i came back i would try to book a reservation, if possible.
Grandpa getaway is a VIBE. the bar is on the water, trendy, and full of young people, locals and visitors alike. All the appeal of a South beach bar without having to make the haul out to the beach. We went with friends around happy hour and enjoyed beer buckets, oysters, ahi crudo, fish dip and a DJ set that would rival Miamis best. It's definitely a crowded and well known spot, which is part of the appeal, so be patient because it may take 45 min to get a table. They do let you hang at the bar inside and order drinks in the meantime, which is very clean and country club like
I love this spot more and more each time I go -- it truly the essence of Miami! Gramps getaway, is definitely a local gem that offers incredible views, great food, good tunes and 5 star service. This last visit, Dani was our server and she was just the sweetest, and friendliest. She really made our experience even more perfect than it was. We started off sipping on lemonades, will enjoying ceviche (thanks to The Lazy Oyster) and then indulged on burgers, catch of the day sandwiches, esquites, and crinkle fries. Every single thing was delicious, made to perfection, and fresh. The flavors are unique and rich. My favorite was the ceviche and the esquites. If you're looking to enjoy Miami's stunning views while getting some really good food -- look no further, this is the spot for you.

I ordered the double cheeseburger, which ended up being a smash burger. It was pretty good, but at $18 and not coming with fries, it felt a little pricey. It also wasn't very filling and honestly I probably could have eaten two of them. We also ordered the crab dip and that was easily the star of the show. It was spicy, had a nice kick, and we completely devoured it. The conch fritters were okay, but they didn't compare to the crab dip. The drinks were good and paired well with everything. Overall, the ambiance, service, and food made for a really fun experience. We had a great time and I'd definitely come back.
Gramp's Getaway is one of my favorite spots in Key Biscayne. There's nothing better than grabbing an ice-cold beer, soaking in the incredible waterfront views, and enjoying the amazing weather. The atmosphere is laid-back and exactly what you want from a waterfront hangout. The food is just as good as the scenery--I'm a huge fan of the burger, and the oysters are always a must-order. Whether you're meeting friends, watching the sunset, or just escaping for a few hours, this place never disappoints.
Gramps right on the water and maybe because if that it's always busy, I've never been and not have to wait. Good thing is they do have parking and valet right next to the entrance of the restaurant so it's really easy to get there. Their fish dip was divine and it seems like they're fry their tortilla chips right in house cause they're nice and thick. The smoked fish dip just is everything you'd expect from it, they give you some peppers on the side, which add some of that kind of freshness that I think it needs with a squeeze of lime for sure. They had a variety of oysters and every single one was delicious ranging from your salt bombs with a lot of brine to a more sweeter, dull flavor. There was something for everyone. And I have to say the hotdog is also amazing great crunch on the sausage itself with an extra crunch from the crispy onions on top all held in this kind of poppyseed bun. Gramps is great. The views are amazing, the people are nice and you get to celebrate the best of Miami by being on the water.
We came here on Super Bowl Sunday for dinner with a group of four. We were seated outside at a high top table. They were fairly busy, but not as busy as expected. Apparently the way we were supposed to receive had just left so we were assigned another person. We can tell by the speed of service that this person we got assigned was a little overwhelmed however, staff tried their best and there was never really a long wait. We order chicken wings, hotdog, dogs and corn besides some drinks everything was really good however, you have to realize with this excellent view on Miami. The prices are not cheap. It's all about location. There is a lack of parking space therefore there is only valet, which is seven dollar.

It's even kid friendly during the daytime as it wasn't packed, which gave the kids space to play and run around (we sat outdoors). The lobster roll was so delicious, so perfect! But my family's favorite thing in the menu that we kept ordering to share was the conch fritter balls -- it's a must! The cocktails were also really well prepared, and there was a DJ playing music on Sunday afternoon. The service was great. Nothing to complain about. You will have a really good time here!

The views over the water is always nice to see. The chopped kale and cabbage salad is one of the best salads I've ever had in my life! It was THAT good! The wings were really good and flavorful. They were on happy hour; four wings for $12 (too pricey in my opinion). The crinkle fries were cooked to a crisp, but has potential. The double cheeseburger was perfect (according to my guest). I'm glad I went back because everyone deserves a second chance (not exes). Check them out and enjoy!
This place was hyped up on my feed. I was excited to go with a friend after a walk. It is very casual beachy vibes. The parking was interesting. It was valet but they give you back your key and you have to get your car. Limited parking. The food was okay. The place is more all about. The view. The crowd is very laid back. Prices are decent. I would come back for the view
Sunday workout at the key Biscayne Bridge, and this was exactly where I wanted to land right after . Gramps sits right where the Rusty Pelican is and that waterfront setting is hard to beat. The vibes were great..relaxed, scenic, and just the right amount of energy for a Sunday afternoon. The drinks were good, and the service was amazing. We shared the ceviche, which was fresh and bright, then split the grouper sandwich with fries. Everything was perfect from start to finish. "Let's take a drive south and have some fun!" And that we did, Three Men and a Baby. Arrived at Gramps, valeted the suv for seven bucks (!) and were ushered to a four top near the deejay booth outside. It wasn't too humid and the energy of the place was buzzy and fun. Our fabulous server JC brought waters and iced tea. Cannot say enough about her, JC. Perused the menu: I started with conch fritters for the table. The Dads ordered the grouper dinner and a smash burger. I opted for the blackened grouper sandwich and fries. JC steered me to the roasted potatoes with a spicy jalapeno sauce and she was correct. My dining partners gave big thumbs up regarding their dishes. My fish sammie was topped with pikliz, a spicy slaw. I devoured it. To end it all, a slice of key lime pie with a torched meringue! Out of this world. Let's talk about the music. The deejay Chris played remixes of familiar songs that added brilliantly to the ambience of the visit. Plus he entertained the kid with earphones for him to hear the music. Magical. Thank you. I must say that I was impressed by the quality of the food. I've been wanting to come to Gramps Getaway for a while and since I was near the area I finally got the chance to do so. Gramps Getaway is nestled in a stunning location that feels like a hidden paradise. The lush greenery and serene surroundings make it a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. The views are breathtaking, and the ambiance is both relaxing and invigorating. One of the highlights of my visit was the incredible Great Grandma DJ! Stopped by for some cocktails to get out of the rain. They had some fun, unique cocktails with a large outdoor bar overlooking the Miami skyline. The server was great and their food menu looked good (mentioned homemade breads and sauces). Would definitely stop back to try out their food! read more
I can't say enough good things about Gramps getaway in Biscayne Beach. We had a nice trip in Miami and needed a place to park ourselves wile the thunderstorm went through. The drinks are amazing, the wait staff was so helpful. And the thatched roof tiki bar was a nice change from the cold Wisconsin weather. read more
This was a fun spot for a girls night. We got there around 6 for happy hour and the location right by the water is beautiful, especially if you catch the sunset. There was a slight smell when we first sat down, but being right next to the water it makes sense. Our hostess was so friendly and welcoming which set a great tone. We ordered margaritas and they were all really good. The crab dip was a standout, whatever seasoning they use is so good. My friend got a burger and enjoyed it, and I tried the conch fritters which were okay but probably not something I would order again. Overall the drinks were great and I would definitely come back for happy hour and sunset next time! read more

Gramps is definitely a chill spot to grab a drink and bite to eat, nothing fancy mostly like bar food with great scenery. I went with the family on this holiday break and had a great time. The service was impeccable. We had two waiters who were a trip. We had the Yellow fin tuna crude, the oysters, and the shrimp ceviche. I had a RUDEBWOY RUMPARI to drink it it was incredible. Everything was very good. Music was great and view was amazing. read more
Gramps Getaway is the casual outdoor bar Miami needs more of! Great views, drinks and food - it doesn't get much better! They have a great Happy Hour deal and all of the food was top notch for a casual bar. There was also a DJ which made for a lively atmosphere. You have to valet, which is $7, but worth it! Really lovely location. Decent happy hour offerings. Make sure to wear bug spray so you can sit outside and take in the gorgeous skyline and mangrove views. The happy hour had decent prices but the offerings were fairly limited. Very few vegetarian food options as well. Still recommend for a drink on a nice day, the ambiance is top notch. read more

With water views, a good happy hour menu, and great service, Gramps is my kind of spot. I had their Classic Margarita and a Spicy Mango Margarita; both were great. I also had their Cheeseburger, which has a juicy double-smashed burger patty on a soft bun and will leave you with a smile after every bite. The fries are not part of the happy hour, but what's a burger without fries? Overall, I liked Gramps Gateway. They have valet parking for $7, and the service was friendly and attentive. Love the whole ambiance of this place. Parking is valet and then just cross the street to the marina to the deck. Get seated, enjoy the views of boats being set in and out of the water and people enjoying boating. Out in the open air, enjoy a cocktail while the deejay mixes an awesome set. There are 2 different menus you can order from. Both menus are great. We ordered grilled oysters and lobster rolls (both hot and cold) from the seafood shack and then drinks and appetizer of conch from the restaurant. The oysters came out and got slurped down. The conch fritters were filled with conch and so tasty. My hot lobster roll with butter was absolutely light and fabulous. My ass could've eaten two easily. Even the chips it came with were crisp and seasoned with an extra kick. What a great atmosphere of food,music,drinks, and views! read more

Gramps Getaway is definitely a hidden gem. I had no idea about this place until my friend suggested we go for drinks and a bite and I'm so glad we did. The vibes are there: Miami skyline views, a boat dock, outdoor seating, and great service. I came with a group of four and our server, Justin, was amazing. He was super warm, attentive, and full of great suggestions. We ordered several small plates and really enjoyed the broccoli salad, smoked fish dip, and jerk wings. But the unexpected star of the night? The hot dog. Yup, a hot dog, but packed with so much flavor it totally stole the show.Parking is limited, but they offer valet at a very reasonable price. Love this place and will definitely be back. read more

Good food, good drinks, and beautiful views are forever my vibe. I got to stop in for the first time with friends and was pleasantly surprised. The vibes were very good, and service was also. Even the patrons were very friendly. I'll definitely be stopping in more often. read more

Parking is problematic and expensive. And for what the food is (uninspiring) is pricey. Also, theres not much of a view really, you dont get an expansive vista of the bay or opposite side. Somewhat run down and dirty. But you can bring your dog! Yet, Id say skip. read more
