I was super excited to come here as I love coming to Biscayne Key. This is in the park so be aware that you will need to pay to enter the park (varies from $4-8). Then we walked to the restaurant about 5mins from the parking lot. We had to park in the overflow parking and take a shuttle. We ordered the fish dip, tuna tartare and two drinks for a whopping $80 bill. The fish dip was delicious and the tartar was good. Honestly for the price you do not get much food and the crackers they serve it with are regular saltine and water crackers. The drinks were strong. I recommend coming here for sunset and just getting a drink. The view was beautiful and they had a live band.

Went here for drinks and views but the weather was not cooperating. This place was still very much a vibe. The bartender provided great service and delicious drinks. I also tried their smoked fish dip and it was yummy. I loved the openness of the bar and water view. They have live music also. I would definitely return them the weather is better and I recommend trying them out.

Surprise that this even exists in Key Biscayne. You can enjoy drinks, appetizers and live music and watch a beautiful sunset.

Good cocktails! Chill place and great option to watch the sunset! I really liked the ambience and how spacious the place is, also you can sit anywhere you can. Definitely going back again anytime soon!

Come for the views, stay for the views. The Cleat offers a breathtaking view of the ocean and Miami skyline that you won't find anywhere else. The cocktails and appetizers are the cherry on top of an already perfect experience. The live music is a nice touch (check the schedule), but I often find myself here just to soak in the views. The service has a laid-back, island vibe--everyone is chill, friendly, and welcoming. But seriously, those views... they're everything.

What an amazing, low-key place to hang out. If you're a Miami local, this place is like if Lagniappe was transported to key west. It's on the water, beautiful views all around, and has a full bar! Really limited food options? But the fish dip was great. The owner or manger is no joke, don't try moving furniture around! Otherwise, I'd be back any chance I get!

By land or by sea this is a great place to eat drink or just take in the vibe! It is inside of Bill Bags State Park and on weekends they sometimes have live music! We always enjoy coming here!

This place is one of the best places to watch the sunset in all of south Florida. This slice of Key Biscayne comes with a somewhat lengthy journey as it is located at the edge of the island and inside a state park, but it is worth the distance. It can get rather busy sometimes but they have an organized way of attending their guests as it's a single line at the bar to get served so everyone gets their order in upon their time of arrival which is fair. Waiting in line for my drink never seems to bother me here as the view makes it worthwhile. They're pet-friendly too so bringing your pip makes a perfect afternoon venture when the weather is right. Parking is by Boaters Grill but if you walk by the edge of the boat dock all the way to the end, you'll see the Cleat at the end. The seating is first-come first-serve but there's plenty of it so snagging a table shouldn't be too tough. I love ordering frozen cocktails with an extra rum floater because what says miami more than a frozen drink? I recommend this spot to everyone who wants the bohemian miami experience with panache.

I came here for a post wedding ceremony celebration and it was a pleasant surprise! I've been to key biscayne many times and was not aware that this gem was here! The bar a short scenic walk from the parking lot and you can see the different boats docked on the way. The sunset views are incredible and there is a nice wind from the water. I saw that this was the best mojito in Miami, so I had to try! The bartenders were all very nice and attentive. The mojito was very tasty - not too sweet and very refreshing! Will definitely come back again soon.

Came to this beautiful and relaxing place for this elderly woman to come and grab my handbag and asked me to move my chair after the security guard told me that it was ok and just to be sure not to just drag the furniture to prevent damage. This senior lady is ruining the vibe of your business. Send her home The Cleat. Everything else is perfect and let her know that touching someone else's handbag is not ok. The bar staff is good, the live band is good but this elderly senior lady doesn't add up, she is rude, she is mean and lacks of properly education. Life is too short to have someone to have this poor behavior when trying to enjoy the sunset.

This hidden gem is great if you're looking for an outdoor bar with great views. They have a live band that was so perfect for the setting. We ordered frozen piña coladas, that really hit the spot on a hot day. I look forward to visiting again and trying some of their food.

After lunch at Boater's Grill, we took the short walk to The Cleat to hang out. We enjoyed cocktails and the beautiful views. The servers are great, super friendly and were always checking on us. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the day.

Fish ceviche (sorry, but the need to clarify this is a red flag) and smoked fish dip. The crackers tell you everything you need to know...

The cleat is great for a view of the water and the sun going away after a long day having fun in Key Biscayne. But it's honestly just that. Don't go here expecting the bee's knees in food and drinks--but do expect that of the scenery that it provides you. My experience was haphazardly in the midst of a wedding celebration, so the bar was blasted with a crowd all awaiting to put in their cocktail order. The few bartenders they had did their best to get to all of us; it was commendable in their efforts to go through the crowd of wedding-goers, wet beach people, and everyone else. However, what was not commendable was the food. It's very overpriced for what it was. The ceviche was highly raved about, but at the end of the day, it's very lackluster ceviche that is pretty much just fish with a little zing--which is not wrong, but maybe I got too used to the amazing additions of hominy, sweet potato, and other accoutrements in my ceviche choices. The smoked fish dip was also sort of jus meh. Nothing really stands out as memorable in them aside from the fact that the crackers brought out with them were just... crackers. Crackers seemingly hodgepodged to make the dishes feel complete and appetizing. I mean, for the dip, it could have worked, but for the ceviche it felt off by a long shot. In the end, you should go here for the location and the location alone. I wish I could say that the food was filling and rewarding, but it was really neither. This spot feels like the afterparty for a nice evening out at Boaters Grill and there's nothing wrong with that. I might even just stick with Boaters Grill and just walk around The Cleat for a bit. In the end, know there are bars only a bit away that can get you that bar fulfillment and understand that The Cleat really won't do that for you.

Beautiful location - not really a place to eat, but you can't beat the surroundings. Great for a quiet afternoon drink on the weekend.

I talked the friendly valet into letting me park between a handicap space and a dumpster. The service was awful. It was 1:30 pm and there were about 15 customers with capacity for 100+. I was given a menu and a glass of water timely and the lady behind the bar seemed friendly. There were plenty of staff around waiting tables and backing the bar. I ordered a blackened fish sandwich and a draft beer. The beer came right away in a plastic mug. The pour was less than 12 oz. (small mug) and the brew was barely chilled. Almost room temperature. After 20 minutes and no fish sandwich, the bar lady came by and asked me: "Did you get your fish sandwich?" I said no. She then went in the main building (presumably where the kitchen is located) coming out a few minutes later while holding up 2 fingers, mouthing "2 minutes." The sandwich was $22 without fries (which were and extra $9 as a side). I didn't order those. The half-pint warm beer was $8. About 7 minutes later, another server came from the main building and delivered a scrawny, soggy bun containing a thick, small, undercooked, hunk of blackened fish flesh only 80% skin free. I had to finish the filleting myself. The toppings were parsley and onion. It was the ugliest and most tasteless blackened fish sandwich I have ever been served. I should've taken a photo. Anyway, by this point, I was in a hurry to get out of there as the place was a total fail. I picked at the fish with my fork and knife and ate the part that was actually meat and cooked, leaving the rest (skin included) and the soggy bun on the plate. With an 18% gratuity included, a simple grilled fish sandwich with no sides and a warm beer came out to almost $40. On the positive side, the view of the water and the Miami - Brickell skyline was good. However, I won't be coming back to this joint again. If I could give it Zero stars, I would.

In a word everything. The decor is not awful itself, but feels a little industrial, with televisions plunked over the walls. But the service and the food just take it to a different level of bad. Our waitress hadn't the faintest clue to what she was doing. She asked how well done we wanted our carpaccio. She so clearly didn't know what she was doing, I had her recite our orders back to me. How could she mess that up? Good question. How about serving all of the food at one time, appetizers and main course? We had carpaccio, supposedly Argentine beef; a pancho; a filet mignon; and Milanezza Martin. Starting with the semi edible, the fillet was not good, the presentation was awful, stock dry on its own on a black plate, with mashed potatoes in a separate ramekin on the side, and the sad chimichurri sauce also in a separate ramekin, but you could swallow it. Everything else was a disgrace. The milanezza was junk they got out of the fridge and microwave before they planted it on the table. My daughter found it literally non-edible, and she is the kindest of diners. She said it tasted like the fridge... A kind way of putting it The pancho was a profoundly bland hot dog in a stale bun. But the "carpaccio" took pride of place. Simultaneously part-frozen and decaying beef, of which my daughter took a bite, and then was stuck finding a polite way to spit it into a napkin. North of inedible. All of this terrible food was put onto our table at one time, about three minutes after we ordered it, because obviously it had just been defrosted in the microwave. And to add insult to injury, the waitress came by, with a toothy, TGIF smile, and said how are we doing? Bloody awful is the only answer. In a move that clearly reflects where the restaurant is at, I noticed they put 19% automatically on the bill for "service". Then they had the cojones to ask for more of a tip when you sign electronically on the tableside device. I looked at the waitress incredulously with raised eyebrows, and that was that. Never again.
