I had no idea that they had moved locations. I remember coming to them when they were on Ponce de Leon Blvd. Updated decor gives them a more upscale feel. The service is still friendly and professional. Food? Delicious!! From their risotto to their steaks and different ceviches! You will not be disappointed. It's a little expensive for what it is but it is so worth it. Our server was so friendly and dedicated that she even told us that an 18% tip was already included in our bill. Dishes were removed before we were done and staff didn't understand our questions. We asked 2 different waitresses the price of a juice. The first waitress didn't understand our question and the second didn't know (but did later find out). During payment, the waitress had one of those payment machines that they bring to your table but even then, she left 3 times with my credit card in hand. The waitress also failed to tell me that the tip was included and while paying and adding a tip, I realized my mistake. I asked her if I could go back and she said no. I had to explain and ask again. Finally I was reimbursed but am worried about my card being misused. The food was decent. We ordered the pasta which had good flavors and some sushi that was pretty good . The dessers were very disappointing. The suspiro tasted like it was made from a powered mix and the alfajores, which are our favorite desserts, were not tasty at all. Delicious Peruvian cuisines in an upscale setting, and prices to go with it. We loved the short walk from hotel to this little walking plaza setting outside the restaurant. All the restaurants had outside tables and lights set up to capture the pleasant winter temperatures in Miami. I loved my appetizer of anticuchos/ grilled beef heart. It was tender and well seasoned. Hubby even liked the grilled cheese pieces that came w it. Hubby's entree was Churassco. The steak was very tender. He actually loved smooth mashed potatoes side. I finally decided to give ceviche another try. Their version is not overly acidic like the others I've encountered. I liked the olive sauce the most of the tiraditos. Their drinks offerings were imaginative and delicious, too. But I didn't appreciate the $5 x 2 charge of "Evian" water when it didn't come w a notice or bottle. Lovely decor. Music just loud enough to hear, but low enough to have a pleasant conversation. The Gotcha moctail, made from lychee, spearmint tea and lemon was tart yet sweet. The Ceviche Clasico has a nice balance of tart, spice and salt. The sweet of the corn and sweet potato adds the final layer. The spice can be adjusted. Our bartender, Ovilio, was excellent. I attended a Pisco Masterclass at this location and it was very fun and informative! It was in a seperate area located in the restaurant. In this event we got to try 3 different types of Pisco and they each paired with a food meant for that sample. The flavor combos were insanely good and just a different kind of experience on the palette. The hosts of this event were very friendly and knowledgable on the different drinks and samples that we were offered. Through the course we received a brief history of Pisco and how it was made traditionally on Peruvian soil. Overall, it was a very positive and delightful atmosphere in which they brought us into. I do recommend coming by the next time they do this event and learn about Peruvian culture, food, and drink while enjoying some refreshing Peruvian cocktails. read more

We came to a fun pisco tasting event here last night. We were served 3 types of piscos, 2 cocktails, 2 wines and aperitivos. It was a master class where we learned of the piscos and wines we were served along with some tasty delights. The class was very educational and the servers were great! With the exception of one. For some reason she always kept skipping my friend in the corner. The tasty delights were - - a little acevichado sushi roll it had a little bit of maracuya (passion fruit) - causa de atún, which is smashed potato at the base and tuna at the top. I'm not quite sure what the dressing is as at the top but it was really good. - papa rellena- it was mashed potato and usually it is stuffed with meat and veggies but in this case it was just papa - tiradito de salmon, which is sashimi salmon and the juice I believe was also maracuya. It was ok. Not my favorite - anticuchos (cow heart), my favorite. It doesn't sound too appetizing but I suggest you try it, if you're open to it. It's just so delicious. - finally, the dessert. It was like a chocolate coffee mousse. It was pretty good. All of these were served with the drinks we were served. I wasn't a big fan of the pisco shots but the cocktails and wine were pretty good. Finally, the restaurant is known for being on the fancy side. I loved the decor and the little clay figurines they have. read more

Came in on a Monday afternoon the place is not that crowded, I was greeted by Aubrey the hostest with the mostes, very professional by the way, so I sat in the bar in my bartender Javier. One of the best bartenders in Miami took care of me and give me my favorite dish here which is the fish au gratin, you can never go wrong coming into this place. It is always a pleasure. Found the most unique risotto and theatrical drinks and you can find them at Aromas de Peru. They have multiple locations but their Coral Gables location is currently hosting a Miami Spice menu that makes it totally worth the visit. We tried both their Spicy Mama that had all the theatrics and their classic pisco sour which they have a crazy pisco sour special from 2-4pm. We opened our palate with the salmon Parma roll which we had fun drizzling the teriyaki sauce. We also had the apasionada tiradito and all I'll say is that I felt the passion... the passion fruit that is and it was amazing. Okay and so this is probably where my husband named this his favorite Miami Spice, when he saw the amount of seafood packed in the Branzino. However, to me the dish of the night was the lamb shank, I love love love huacaina risotto and the spot that I used to get it at closed many years ago so I was so happy to find a new place that can quench that desire for me. The lamb was ultra tender, it just fell off the bone and the risotto was mega creamy. We ended our meal with desserts in the usual Miami Spice fashion with the passion fruit mousse and the Lucuma cheesecake. Never heard of this place but was excited to try their lomo saltado. Unfortunately, the meat was chewy and not in a good way. I was underwhelmed by the meal. However, everything else was great! I was there for a birthday and there was approximately 25 of us. I was worried the food would take forever to cook after ordering but to my surprise the food came out super quick! The drinks were yummy as well and came out with a cool bubbling effect. I wish I would've ordered the churrasco because the piece I tried from my boyfriend's meal was soooooo flavorful and cooked to perfection. Overall, I'd come back to try something else from the menu. Our sever, although very polite and nice, did not tell us anything about the specials. I had to hear it from another waiter when it was too late. The food was not the best this time. We were told it had cauliflower, which it did not. It was a very nice portion size. We were severely disappointed at our first foray into what should have been a great good experience. I haven't been to Aromas in years but came by on a weekend for a late lunch. Staff was initially kind and attentive but the attentiveness didn't last long unfortunately. It wasn't busy at all either so the service definitely could have been better. The decor inside is quite modern and minimalistic which is different from how I remember but definitely a nice improvement. We started with two pisco sours ($15 each). They were super sweet but after flagging someone down they remade them less sweet and they were much better. The staff brought out a Peruvian corn with a dipping sauce to the table. Ours had hair on it so we had to send it back and they never brought another back until we asked for it twice. When I finally got to try it, it was so yummy! The corn is definitely super tasty and crunch. We ordered the chaufa vegetariano ($16) with rice instead of quinoa and it was delicious! Such a huge portion too so there were definitely left overs. I added some of the aji that came with the corn and it was a sauce for the fried rice. We also ordered the Toshiro Crocante roll ($19). It's a crunchy shrimp roll that comes with a passionfruit sauce that's drizzled on top. This was also so delicious. The sweet and salty flavors were a perfect pairing. The service could definitely use some help as we had to ask for water, the issue with the corn, and overall just took a long time for any server to follow up but the food was definitely worth the experience. I'd suggest to the chef to ease down on the salt amount. Funny how the pasta had the perfect amount of salt but that was not the case for the churrasco. Odd. Or if anything, just cook a new churrasco and don't add salt to it. I'll just add the salt myself. One thing that the other reviews here don't mention: there's parking meters everywhere here. I myself don't usually travel to Coral Gables so I'm not sure if parking meters nearby local restaurants in this city is the norm. It took a bit of time to find a parking spot on top of that.
