Located in Pinecrest, Ocean & Flame is great for Peruvian Seafood & Steak! We went for several people's birthday and I was almost the last one to show up. It was so nice they let us all do separate checks! I had a smoked pisco and credit their creativity for giving me the cocktail with a lit garnish. Kudos on the well balanced cocktail it definitely put a smile on my face. The appetizer round came and I nibbled on tostone, tuna tartare, and some rolls with cream cheese (why not?). My server refilled my water several times and was attentive. I enjoyed the lomo and the risotto was like mac and cheese yum! Roll through to Ocean & Flame for some fire cocktails and a tasty bite of Peru! read more

The place is really chic inside. Bright lights at the bar, very cute furniture love the pink chairs! The food was amazing!! I love how they incorporate couscous in their dishes. I tried the classic ceviche it was great but I wasn't even my favorite thing, the sushi was amazing too, the tuna tartare was excellent and there's so more to try! They have sushi, tuna tartare, crab tostones, lomo salteado, and more! Their mixed fruit smoothies were delicious and tasted so natural! I tried a virgin mojito and I loved it! The service was friendly too! And we got to meet the owner who was very lovely. Five stars for this new, amazing restaurant! Can't wait to go back and try more dishes! read more

Easy, free lot parking. Nice interior, great for a variety of occasions. Service was very friendly and efficient. They were able to split checks by seat too without fuss, so definitely friendly to larger groups that have splitting requirements. I got a crab tostones, which were very flavorful to start and a red pepper ceviche for the main. They were able to spice it up a bit as an option which was really nice! I felt the main quite refreshing. The presentation was nice, with almost each dish having some sort of orchid or other special touch to it! For the flavors, plating and place I felt the prices pretty reasonable for Miami standard. I was pleasantly surprised with the tasty mango/passion fruit smoothie I got. It felt very fresh. A lot of other places seem to use more juices from concentrate, which is not my favorite, but this truly hit the spot! I'd recommend and return. read more

Amazing service and food from start to finish. A group of us went to celebrate our birthdays for the season and we couldn't have picked a better spot. The table fit all 10 of us comfortably. The decor is so cute. Like coastal beach house vibes. We started with some lychee martinis that are soooooo good! I mean they are a must try. Our apps of tostones with crab salad and tuna tartar were outstanding. My favorite was my dish which was the lomo saltado over a bed of cheesy risotto that was so creamy. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Desserts were incredible too paired with a bombón cafecito. We had a spectacular dinner and night. Out server was so attentive. It really was an intimate fun setting for a perfect dinner with friends! read more

I'm so happy I had my birthday lunch here! Amazing food, great service and gorgeous atmosphere! Formerly known as Dr. Limon, the new owners have reimagined the menu to elevate the flavors of Peru and Latin Cuisine. Starting from the Tuna Tartar and Grilled Octopus accompanied by the Smoked Pisco Sour, to the 2nd course like the Chicharron de Mariscos, Tostones Cangrejo and Ceviche Sampler, everything they serve here will make you drool and devour! Of course, we had to order a table-sized Margarita to share, and I also appreciated the surprise Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream. What an awesome discovery on a Friday night. Ocean and flame is located in pinecrest/ south miami area. This place was nicely decorated with comfortable pink chairs. The waiter was very helpful, funny and attentive. He provided us with some great guidance on what to order. I started with the crab tostones. They were highly recommended and I see why. It tasted delicious. The flame steak is a lomo saltado which was cooked to perfection. My friend had the risotto with flame steak and let me tell you that risotto is delicious. It was so cheesy. For dessert, the bon bon coffee and the chocolate were a nice ending. Definitely worth the visit. read more

If there's one thing Miami doesn't need, it's another Peruvian restaurant. The scene is overcrowded and losing steam as prices grow and plates shrink. Expecting this, I ate beforehand, not just a snack, but a substantial Taiwanese hot pot featuring a Noah's Ark of land and sea creatures. That was a mistake. Ocean & Flame wasn't serving the overdecorated plates from CVI.CHE 105, whose playbook nearly every Peruvian spot in Miami has copied. Every dish that came out of the kitchen was hefty. Take the Quinoa Risotto with Grilled Red Snapper. The protein was a respectable 10-to 12-ounce filet, resting on a neon bed of aji amarillo-laced quinoa risotto. A few slivers of Parmesan cheese sat on the side, ready to be mixed in or left as garnish. I appreciated the option, since seafood and dairy don't mix in my book. Lomo Saltado, a steak dish basted in oyster sauce and served with vegetables, came in a separate casuela, apart from the rice and fries. THIS IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. Otherwise, your fries go soggy and your rice turns into a salt sponge. Tostones de Cangrejo is an appetizer for people who don't like seafood. So heavily seasoned and creamy, it could've been mistaken for any fowl or shellfish. I would've preferred the unadorned crab; someone had clearly sourced and shucked it with care, allowing its quality to shine through. How did I make such a thorough exploration of the menu when I was so full? My dinner dates kept serving me kid plates or samples of their dishes to entice my appetite. I didn't try the "Suchi," but the rolls were so large they could've been mistaken for Korean gimbap. Everyone who ordered juice offered some to their neighbors, eager to share the joy of their purchase. And just when I finally felt ready to eat (during dessert), they were out of the Limon Marquesa. Next time. Happy Hour in Miami is when guys gather to drink affordably while waiting for women to get glammed up and join us. Ocean & Flame is where I want to meet up! Happy Hour is from 4 - 7 PM, and women drink free ALL DAY on Fridays! And not rail wine or select drinks you'd expect, but the entire cocktail and mocktail menu. If they consolidate their three paper menus and digital one, elevate their beer game to match their cocktail program, and reclaim their brand from Dr. Limon, Ocean & Flame could become the premier Peruvian Cevichería in Miami. read more

***I came here looking for Dr. Limon and instead found the name and menu had all changed. Decided to stay and eat anyways, and boy, good thing I did!*** From the moment I walked into Ocean and Flame in Pinecrest, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and inviting: warm lighting, stylish decor, and a subtle energy that makes you want to linger. I started off with their salmon roll sushi, and it was an incredible first impression. The fish was fresh, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and the presentation was clean and elegant. It was the kind of bite that makes you pause and appreciate how good simple things can be when done right. We also ordered tostones rellenos which were nice and crispy and generously topped and beautifully presented with their special fish paste. For our main meals we had the Carne Flameada, and wow, what a dish! It arrived sizzling, tender, and full of rich, smoky flavor. This was served with perfectly cooked white rice and a side of nice and crunchy French fries. It was a great dish, for those with a serious appetite who do not want to sacrifice taste and freshness in any way. But the true highlight of my night had to be the grilled octopus. I've had octopus at a lot of restaurants, and this one stood out. It was cooked to absolute perfection with just the right char on the outside and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. It was flavorful, balanced, and plated beautifully. It is served with potatoes and peppers. The size of the octopus ensures it is an entire meal. And let's not forget the cocktails. They were creative, refreshing, and strong without overpowering the flavors of the food. Every drink we tried was crafted with attention to detail, and the bartender clearly knows what they're doing. The service was excellent throughout the night. Friendly, attentive staff made us feel welcomed and taken care of without being overbearing. Every question was met with knowledge and a smile, and you could tell the team takes pride in what they do. Overall, Ocean and Flame delivered on every level: food, drinks, service, and ambiance. It's the kind of place you can go for a special occasion or just a memorable night out. I'll definitely be back. read more

This is the absolute best Peruvian restaurant in Miami. The cocktails are top notch, the appetizers are incredible and the Lomo Saltado was the best I've ever had. I seriously couldn't get enough of it. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. It's a must try if you're looking for a traditional Peruvian food with a coastal twist. read more

I came here with a friend to celebrate her birthday over lunch. I've driven by this place a million times and never tried it but my friend heard good things about Dr Limon and wanted to try it out. Upon arriving, I was surprised that this place is quite large inside. It's white and bright with a huge bar. The place was pretty empty for lunch, but once I saw their bar menu and that they have happy hours, I figure they're probably pretty packed from happy hour through evening. We wanted to share items so that we'd try multiple things, and the waiter made some suggestions. We ordered the Tallarín Verde con Churrasco, and one of the classic fish ceviches. Our waiter told us the plates were small and it would not be enough food for us and we needed to order one more item, and so he suggested the causa con pulpo. Don't be fooled.. the dishes here are actually quite large! There's no way we could have eaten all of that food. The ceviche was delicious and we finished that off happily. The churrasco was good, though the tallarin verde was lacking in flavor; it was a large portion and we were unable to finish it. The octopus causa was also a large dish, and comes with a purple olive sauce.. this dish was not at all a hit for us though.. we each took one bite to try it and then we didn't eat it, so that was a waste. Lesson learned here.. If they suggest more than one dish per person, just wait and you can always order more. I'll try this spot again in the evening.. especially because I want to try out their pisco drinks! read more

The restaurant itself looked very basic, nothing special. It felt like a regular restaurant. For Dr. Limón's standards, it was very underwhelming. We were welcomed by the front of the house and were seated immediately, which was great. Our server was very nice; he seemed a bit nervous, probably because it was his first day or week--I'm not sure. However, he made sure our order was correct. The food was very basic, especially for a Dr. Limón. I had the TOSTONES A LO SECO, which was honestly the best thing I ate on the menu. The onion and cilantro brought a nice freshness, and the short rib flavor was on point. For the main entree, I had a regular Lomo Saltado. Honestly, it wasn't anything out of this world. The lomo was very salty and didn't meet my expectations. I would honestly say La Granja's Lomo is 10x better. I wouldn't come back just because the main course didn't meet my expectations. I would recommend going to other Dr. Limón locations. read more

The dining area was clean and spacious. The ladies bathroom was clean and well stocked.. Our waiter, Adrian, was very courteous and attentive. I ordered a Marajito, a drink with pisco, passion fruit puree, fresh lime, mint and syrup...yum! I ordered the grilled snapper special with shrimp sauce, tostones, and salad. The food looked delicious and the taste did not disappoint. Food was abundant and I'll be taking some home for tomorrow's lunch. For dessert we had the Chocolate Overload. It was delicious and plentiful to share for two people. Only drawback is that it's pricey. However, it was worth it! I definitely would recommend Dr. Limon and will be back to see what new dish I can try. read more

After my mom's service, 6 of us came here to eat. Great service and ambience. We ordered several small plates (see pics) and everything was very good. Too much octopus for my taste though. The side order of tostones only came with 3 tostones. Good wine pours. The lychee drink was beautifully presented but a bit too sweet. Varied and very good ceviche (their niche). Mixed review, delicious food, we had Pulpo Dr Moreno as appertizer which was delicious and meaty. There was 3 of us, so we ordered fish/shirmp cuarentena which is ceviche in 4 different sauces, yummy, enough for 3 people. The service was great, prices pricey but resonable (Pulto (octopus) was $25), ceviche and seafood are always pricey. But what bothered me was the $7 fee for Cusquena beer, come on man, I am paying good prices for your seafood, dont slam me on the beer too. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g34559-d19899559-r895916285-Dr_Limon_Ceviche_Bar_Pinecrest-Pinecrest_Florida.html# read more

We love their original location in West Kendall, but didn't get to try out their Pinecrest outpost till now, as COVID hit soon after they opened two years ago. While parking is always a pain at this plaza, we were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant itself was not full on a weekend night. The place also has better acoustics than the original location - somehow the noise inside that place makes my head ache. For those who still care - the waitstaff all wear masks. As usual, we started with their delicious shot of complimentary leche de tigre and munched on the fried corns as we peruse the menu. The seafood rice cooked in beer is so good. You even got a whole half crab in there! Some people may find crabs too much hassle to eat, but if you are a seafood lover this dish is delish and very reasonably priced. We also ordered the Tabby roll, which while slightly too sweet, is delicious. The jalea, on the other hand, was a disappointment. We almost always order this dish at Peruvian restaurants, and this version is rather dry and overfried. We had this dish before in their other location, so maybe it's just an one off. Anyway, having visited Dr Limon for years, we know their food is consistently good, and will definitely be back. read more

This is one of my favorite places to order from but their service SUCKS! Do not bother ordering online from their website or even DoorDash. First, I ordered through THEIR WEBSITE and when we went to pick up my food they had given it away to someone else. WHAT?! When this was brought to the managers attention they said to figure it out with Uber/doordash despite using their own website to order. Now, I order through DoorDash for pickup and they give us a hard time saying I need to confirm my order in the app.... When we showed the confirmation in the app I apparently needed to confirm via the app with a button that doesn't exist. This is one of several Dr Limón to stay clear of. Let's start with service... it seems that Miami is becoming a third world country with the hiring of non-speaking servers. Dr. Limon Ceviche Bar is new to the Pinecrest area and I am SO HAPPY it's finally here. This was my first time trying out Dr. Limon per the incessant recommendations from my cousin and friends, so on opening night, we went and I couldn't have been happier. We ordered drinks at the bar since there was a lengthy wait for a table. Unfortunately I can't remember the names of the drinks but I remember them being really strong and flavorful. They made the wait much more bearable, to say the least lol Once seated, we wasted no time and ordered the Tostones de Cangrejo, the Tropical Roll and El Loco Calato. All of these were amazing but the Tropical Roll took the cake. Best sushi roll I think I have ever had, ever. As our main course we shared the Tallarín Verde con Churassco and the Lomo Saltado. There were three of us and we shared everything and still left with food. The portions are great and the quality and taste of the food is as fresh as possible. The service was outstanding given it was opening night. Honestly can't wait to return to try other items on the menu. Dr Limon is a very good restaurant with reasonable prices. As the rest of Dr. Limon's locations... this place gets packed. Come early or consider a large waiting time when you arrive. Odd hours are best during the weekend. Food is phenomenal... the Octopus appetizer is big and made extremely well. It has a nice aji Amarillo sauce and it comes with fries.... fries aren't the best but it goes well with the dish. Levanta muerto ceviche was also nice... fresh and spicy but not too much. It is actually a very large ceviche portion... definitely shareable. Last but not least was the pescado a lo macho but instead of fried we had it grilled. This dish a rich and very filling... again a dish that can be easily shared. Everything I have tried here has been outstanding, good quality ingredients and the kitchen people do a great job cooking them. Service was very personable and attentive. read more
