We needed a restaurant that was open early (6 AM) when we arrived in Miami. Yelp helped us find El Metro, close to the airport. A no frills place where English is not the primary spoken language. In the early hours, the place seems to cater to laborers about to begin their workday. I can't recall what we ordered but EVERYTHING was delicious. We were served warm, toasty buttered bread. The expression was creamy, stein and hot. The burrito was huge. The eggs were fluffy. Total bill for three was $36. I highly recommend!

It's hard not to give a perfect rating to perfect service and a breakfast of delicious chorizo, fried eggs, a perfectly cooked hash brown, cuban toast, and cafe con leche, all for under $10 with tax and tip. Easy to find the place, ample parking, a takeout window, ample bar and table seating inside. This is getting bookmarked.

    Chicken taco salad. So good!

I finally got to try this place today, found from Yelp and yet again it didnt let me down. It had few reviews so I'm assuming they havent been around too long. However it was packed inside with what appeared to be regulars so I'll have to do more research on that. I've only tried their chicken taco salad so my review may change based on future visits but so far it's a 10/10. Inside was very clean. I only speak English and still got exactly what I wanted without having to point awkwardly or have a misunderstanding. The chicken taco salad was amazing! High quality and high quantity. The chicken didnt appear to have any fat and tasted great. Seemed like 2 chicken breasts- there was plenty and it was so good! Lots of lettuce, cheese, some tomato and plenty of rice and beans. I do wish it came with a hot sauce but I didnt request it either. Very good and I'd highly recommend it!

We started with the goat cheese croquettes, which were delicious! The marmalade went well, and the pickles onions and jalapeños cut the richness and were a nice complement. Husband had the Masa de Puerco chino and loved it. Big tender chunks of pork, super flavorful. I had the abuela's ropa vieja, and it was perfect. I don't even usually like plantains, and the Maduros were delicious! Oh! And the Passion lemonade was SO GOOD!! Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Loved everything about the experience, and we're hoping to get back while we're in Miami!

Regardless when we arrived they sat us outside which is exactly what we were hoping for. Our server was nice at first. Explained all the popular dishes got our drinks out very quickly. I think she stole our table from someone else because shortly after someone came and we told them we put our order in and he seemed a little bothered. Unfortunately, our other server disappeared and never checked up on us. We pretty much didn't have any napkins during our entire duration of our meal. At least that part was good. We started off with a couple of mojitos and their Vaca Frita Tostones. You get these homemade maduro tostones topped off with shreeded beef in a moon sauce, pickled onion, and aji Amarillo aioli. A very delicious dish that didn't last long. Shortly after we received our main dish. I really hate when they do that. My wife ordered their Abuelas Ropa Vieja and I ordered their Masa de Puerco Chino. My wife didn't really care for her dish much. We've had plenty of Ropa Vieja before and would have preferred a congri type of rice as opppsed to just plain white rice. My dish was 10/10. Like in the name of "chino" this is an Asian inspired dish with fried rice, maduros, pineapple confit and crispy pork. A very delicious dish. It could have don't without the little salad on top, but at least it ads color to the dish. The crispy pork tasted so amazing and the fried had so much flavor. Mix in some of the maduros and you get a sweet and savory dish. Would definitely be returning to try this dish again.

We ordered the Cuban sandwich and the Cuban burger, and honestly both were dangerously good. The Cuban sandwich was exactly what you hope for -- crispy bread, perfectly pressed, packed with flavor, and the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid-bite and just nod at the person across from you like "yep... this was the right decision." The Cuban burger was also fantastic -- juicy, flavorful, and big enough that you start questioning whether you should have skipped breakfast. The area around the restaurant was great too. Nice vibe, good energy, and perfect for walking around before or after eating... which you will probably need to do after finishing that burger. The servers were good -- friendly, attentive, and thankfully didn't judge us for attacking the food like we hadn't eaten in three business days. Overall the place has a fun atmosphere, great Cuban comfort food, and the kind of menu that makes you want to come back just to try the things you didn't order the first time. Highly recommend... just be prepared to leave full and slightly considering a nap. 10/10 would happily destroy another Cuban sandwich there again.

The roasted pork was tender, juicy, and packed with savory garlic-forward flavor. The crispy edges added a nice contrast in texture, and the mojo-style seasoning brought everything together with a bright, citrusy punch. It was comforting, flavorful, and paired really well with the traditional sides. Service was friendly and attentive, and the staff made the dining experience smooth even during a busy time. The vibe is lively and colorful, with a nostalgic Cuban café atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel festive and welcoming. It's a great spot for groups, casual dinners, or anyone looking to enjoy classic Cuban comfort food. Overall, a really solid Cuban meal with bold flavors and generous portions. I'd come back to try more of their traditional dishes and cocktails.
