Had a great Mother's Day dinner here with my family. First off, thank God it wasn't an absolute madhouse considering the holiday. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was excellent. The host and wait staff paid attention to every little detail and made us feel genuinely welcomed. To start, I ordered the cachapa and the lomo saltado empanada, and both were incredible. The empanada especially was packed with flavor. My wife had the bandeja paisa bowl, and I went with the risotto lomo saltado. That dish almost put me to sleep in the best way possible. Comfort food level 100. We had to finish the night with one of their coffees, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Big shoutout to our server Elvis, who guided us through the menu and gave great recommendations. Usually menus with influences from so many different cultures can feel all over the place, but Luka somehow pulls it off perfectly. They're not just trying to do a little bit of everything. Luka restaurant is a hybrid of Colombian and Venezuelan origins. They're famous for their arepas and specialty coffee drinks. Place was full, but there wasn't any loud music and you can have a conversation. Came on a Sunday afternoon ordered their starters/Antojitos. Mini meat empanadas, tequenos, sweet Arepa with paisa criollo cheese, and super refreshing and delicious coconut limeade drink. We also had their famous coffee. Both the cappuccino and the Cortado were delicious. Last but not least we also got their slice of homemade cake with Dulce Leche and it was decent. Service was great prices reasonable worth coming back for sure. Pro tip: Uber Eats offers daily delivery specials, especially during breakfast and that was a highlight. I went for lunch with my family, and it was spectacular experience. The restaurant is located inside a shopping center. There are plenty of parking for free, no charge. It gets really busy for breakfast that's why I came in after the rush. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The restaurant is kept clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Now, let's get to the best part - FOOD! As a starter we ordered the guacamole dip that comes with nachos and birria tacos. The dip has chicharron, plantains, and salsa....soooo good! We needed more nachos! Birria was so soft and tasty. As main entree we had: quinoa salad bowl with chicken, carne asada bowl, and cheeseburger. It was so nice that the carne asada bowl came with a small lentil soup (yums). In my opinion both bowls were delicious, and the cheeseburger wasn't anything to rave about. Found this gem by searching for burgers in the area and it was sooo worth it. We were greeted warmly by the host which sat us outside. The environment was pleasant for a Saturday afternoon. Was craving a cachapa and found this hidden gem. So glad I did! I ordered a cappuccino ( they have 2 sizes small or large, love this because most restaurants only have regular size) it was really good. I ordered the cachapa with steak and it was delicious. This is probably my favorite breakfast restaurant in all of South Florida. A few months ago I was looking for a place to grab a bite and as usual Yelp came through. Luka is located in a strip mall close to the Turnpike. Parking is ample. There is great seating inside and out front of the entrance . The vibe is upscale classy with a casual feel. The wait staff is awesome, and at this point treats us like family. The latte and cappuccino here are the best I have ever had, anywhere. They also do a truffle omelette that comes with this incredibly creative and amazing waffle. We've also had lunch and dinner here and the cuts of meat are excellent and well prepared. At this point, we've eaten pretty much the entire menu and we've never had a bad experience. The Pichaña tacos are out of this world. If you're in the area, you have to stop in. read more

For reference I had the wake me up skinny omelette, tequeños, strawberry juice, and my hubby had the carne asada arepa. Tried the omelette because other reviews said they were amazing, but in my option it was average. Not bad, but nothing out of this world. Carne asada arepa was good as well. Not in the most scenic of locations, but don't let that stop you from going in. You'll thank me. I got there around 9 am. There were about 5-6 others there. Most people sat outside. This is a Hispanic business, so don't let that deter you. I first ordered a machiatto. It was served in an oversized cup. The way it should be served. For breakfast, I ordered the Criollo breakfast. It was loaded down with so much. Eggs, arepa, shredded pork, cheese, black beans, potatoes, and sweet plantains. Sounds big, and it is! The machiatto was so good I ordered a second one. Went to meet with some friends at Luka. First time there. We were very late but were assisted quickly by the waiter. My wife and I ordered a limonada de coco, always a good choice for hot days like today!!! For an entree I had the carne asada bowl, it came with the choice of chicken noodle soup or lentils soup. I chose the lentils soup which was good, felt homemade. Then came the carne asada bowl with papas criollas, ripe plantain, and a salad. The meat was soft and big chunks. Everything was really good. My wife had the lomo saltado bowl and it looked delicious (she loved it). But, in my opinion, the star of the show was the coffee! I had the espresso and my wife a cappuccino. OMG! I had been looking at the menu for a while. I live down south and was waiting for an opportunity to come to Doral to go here. I got the opportunity when two American friends wanted to meet up for lunch. They said it was my turn to pick a restaurant and I jumped to come here. When we sat down they said that they hope this wasn't a Latin restaurant , because they really don't care for the cuisine. Who says that in Miami? The diversity of Latin cuisine is a star in Miami's culinary scene. I told them this was Venezuelan cuisine and they would adore it and they did. We sat outside in the shade and it was comfortable. The inside had a moderne theme very clean. The service was bilingual and very helpful. I ordered the Venezuelan beef empanada for the guys and they were shocked how good they were. They settled for the Bacon lover burger ( Grilled ground burger American cheese, bacon and crispy onions) they opted out of the Lucia burger sauce. They were cautious,but thrilled with the out come. I ordered the famous Latin Luka Burger ( grilled ground burger, spicy Mayo fried cheese, guacamole chicharrones and cilantro. What an explosion of flavor! My 3 favorite things fried cheese, guacamole and chicharrones. I had the cucumber pineapple mint juice with that special soft ice, such a refreshing drink, plus the mint is nice on your stomach . After great conversation and a great meal the guys said that they would come back and try some new stuff and definitely get more empanadas. I cant wait to come here for breakfast!
