We've been to Platea a few times now, and it truly never gets old. I love having such an incredible steakhouse right in our neighborhood. If you're looking for high-quality cuts at a lower-than-expected price point, this is the spot. You will not be disappointed.

This place is a bit hidden but very well known. Great atmosphere, modern decor with an exotic twist. The fried ceviche was amazing! The Ceasar salad was one of the best we've had. Although the seabass was delicious, the portion was way too small, especially for the price. Same with the filet mignon, very good but a bit small with no sides included. The baked Alaska was perfect! The wine selection was limited but loved the Chardonnay. Overall we loved the food and experience. The only complaint is that the price is a bit high for the amount of food received.

What an outstanding birthday dinner! We shared the Parmesan Oysters and the 38oz porterhouse, which was cooked to perfection. The garlic mashed potatoes and fungi and onion were perfect accompaniments. Service was impeccable and we loved the simple, yet elegant atmosphere. Wish we were locals so we could come more often!

Platea is hands down one of my favorite restaurants. My family & I go at least once a year and we all absolutely love it. The food is always incredible, we had- ceviche, oysters, tostones, charred caesar salad, lomo, steak, lobster, & the brussels sprouts are all so good. The service is always warm and welcoming and the staff make you feel right at home. It is a smaller restaurant so definitely make a reservation, but it is totally worth it. The music is just the right volume for conversation and they have a great wine selection too. We have been coming here for two years now and they never disappoint! 10/10

    This salad was so good.

Yes, yes and yes, 100 times over I would eat here again. The food was fantastic. Everything had so much flavor. The service was great!

Incredible food and service. Perhaps the best dish was their tiradito! Will absolutely be back!

We loved Platea. It's a small, classy spot that took over the old Pei Wei in Pinecrest (RIP orange chicken), but now it's easily one of the best fine dining options in the area. No liquor, but there's a sommelier on deck to help with wine, so you're in good hands. We started with the passion ceviche -- fresh, slightly sweet, and a nice twist on the classic. The pulpo (octopus) came next, served with potatoes and a savory sauce that smacked. Next was the seabass entree. Clean, flavorful, and cooked just right. Then came the prime ribeye -- huge cut, and they torch a piece of rosemary tableside like a signature move. Smells amazing, tastes even better. Skip the sauces -- it doesn't need 'em. For sides, we had the fungi (bright, limey, and tasty) and the tallarines verdes, which is basically creamy pasta. Yes, it's a little pricey. But if you're in Pinecrest and want a great dinner without driving into Brickell or the Gables, Platea's 100% worth it.

Remarkable experience. Staff is very attentive. Food is a 10 out of 10. Nice quiet space and classy decor.

Back in the day, Platea's brunch was superb, but it was discontinued (due to low volume). We therefore decided to try Platea for dinner; it was a mixed bag: Strengths: *Sleek but comfortable ambience *Ceviche bowl is superb *Excellent, attentive service (Doug Z was our waiter- he's friendly and efficient) *Wine list is decent Weaknesses: *The whole fish entree is really designed for two people, but we were not warned about this. Although the portion is quite large, the fried red snapper was good but not great, and will set you back $65 *The phantom fries sounded good on paper, but lacked seasoning *The Sea Bass was lukewarm when it reached the table, and also somewhat lackluster *The Fungi + Onions side dish lacked flavor Granted, steaks are a Platea specialty, and we did not sample them, so we may return to give Platea's steaks a chance in the future. The restaurant fills up fast on weekends, so make a reservation through OpenTable.

    - A great portion of lomo saltado!! - Saw lots of different groups of customers celebrating different things - Overall the energy was so warm and inviting inside - The desserts are so extra lol the presentation comes with flames or ice or frozen roses - I did really enjoy the cheesecake, they brought it with some dry ice - Great location for celebrations

I've been hearing for a while that Platea is an amazing steakhouse! It is located in an unsuspecting shopping center in Pinecrest. I go to the Starbucks there all the time but finally got to try out Platea. It definitely is on the pricier side. Steaks are their speciality! Service was amazing! The manager was so sweet with my son and showed him magic tricks. We had some tostones upfront for the table which were good but very filling. I orders the New York Strip Steak and the charred Cesar salad. Everyone at the table loved the salad. Cool feature: they burn the rosemary on top of the steak in front of you for added flavor. The steak was good and buttery. My only issue with the two dishes: they were pretty salty. I drank a lot of water and didn't finish them. We ordered the cheesecake with seasonal fruits for dessert which was really yummy and also came in a cool presentation.

The restaurant is tucked away in Pinecrest and is beautiful inside, very cozy. The service was excellent and nothing was ever missing and they treated us kindly. The star of the show was the food, absolutely everything was delicious! Definitely order the octopus appetizer and the steaks were absolutely amazing, good crust and cooked to our liking with a delicious sauce. The sides were just ok, which is why it doesn't get 5 stars, but appetizers and mains are the star of the show

We came over for Miami spice, but it wasn't available on Friday or Saturday, so we decided to take their main menu for a spin instead. Enter: stuffed lobster tail. This is the biggest lobster tail I've ever had in my life, must try if you like lobsters of course. Desert: cheesecake, a must try, it comes with liquified ice and the presentation alone is worth the $22 price tag.

We brought my sister for her birthday lunch, and from the moment we sat down outside, it just felt right. Blue skies, that warm Miami breeze, the kind of afternoon that makes you slow down and actually enjoy the people you're with. Sitting on the patio along South Dixie Highway, you get that classic local seafood vibe without any pretense. Just fresh air, fresh fish, and good energy. Now let's talk about the service, because it deserves its own spotlight. I'm totally blind, and if you've followed my reviews before, you know I notice how places handle that. Our server was phenomenal. She was attentive without hovering, detailed without being overwhelming, and helpful without a hint of being patronizing. She clearly paid attention to where everything was placed, described the dishes in a way that made them come alive, and made sure I could navigate the table comfortably. That balance is rare. It's professionalism mixed with genuine care. Thank you for that. It mattered. And the food. Wow. We started with the tuna wontons and conch fritters. Both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. The tuna was bright and clean, with just the right crunch from the wonton. The fritters were golden and crisp outside, tender inside, with that classic South Florida seasoning that makes you want "just one more." I had the lobster bisque, and it was rich without being heavy. Smooth, creamy, layered with flavor, and clearly made with real attention to detail. My sister's boyfriend ordered the shrimp tacos, and they were loaded, well-balanced, and packed with fresh seafood flavor. My wife had the grouper fillet, grilled to perfection. I sampled both my sister's blackened fish and my wife's grilled grouper. The blackened had that beautiful, slightly spicy crust that wakes up your palate without overpowering the fish. The grilled version had what tasted like an Old Bay style seasoning that complemented the natural sweetness of the grouper perfectly. Everything was cooked exactly right. Nothing overdone. Nothing rushed. Just quality seafood handled the way it should be. All in all, it was a fantastic birthday lunch. Great service. Great food. Classic South Florida atmosphere. And the best part for us, it's right near home, which means we'll absolutely be back. If you're looking for a relaxed, authentic seafood experience in Miami, Golden Rule Seafood delivers.

My blackened grouper sandwich was delicious, but the portion seemed a bit undersized. The same could be said for the "bow" buns--great flavoring, but I was surprised there was only one shrimp per bun, and the order only came with a pair overall. My girlfriend also enjoyed her lobster bisque and side salad. They also had a nice list of craft beers to choose from & we'll certainly be back again, hopefully for some live music too.

The buzz in the restaurant and bar area is contagious reminiscent of the lively chaos in your mom's kitchen during Thanksgiving. The food was nearly flawless. I started with the Caesar Salad and bruschetta both simply delicious. The dressing was perfectly tangy, and the bruschetta was generously portioned and expertly seasoned. For my main, I chose the Eggplant Parm, an enormous portion. The cheese was generously layered, perhaps more than usual. The dish was fresh, hot, and incredibly flavorful. The sauce had a nice kick without being spicy. My mom ordered the Capellini Primavera, substituting pink cream sauce for oil and adding plenty of garlic; another huge portion. Absolutely loved it. The pasta has that exact bite it's supposed to have. The sauces taste like someone's nonna has been guarding the recipe since 1952. Everything feels authentic, not in the gimmicky, red-checkered-tablecloth way, but in the "this is how it's actually done" way. The atmosphere seals the deal. It's warm, cozy, and welcoming without trying too hard. Soft lighting, relaxed energy, the kind of place where you sit down for dinner and somehow three hours disappear. It feels intimate without being cramped, lively without being loud. You can have a real conversation without shouting over someone's birthday party. As longtime guests who have enjoyed countless date nights here over the years, choosing Chef Adrianne's for such an important milestone was an easy decision--and they absolutely exceeded our expectations. The food was phenomenal, as always. Our guests could not stop talking about the filet mignon, short rib, salmon, and pork wontons. The croissant bread pudding was a huge hit as well, with both the dark chocolate and white chocolate varieties receiving rave reviews. Every dish was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and served perfectly. With 41 guests, delivering that level of quality consistently is no small feat, and we want to give a heartfelt thank you and shoutout to the chefs and entire culinary team. The kitchen staff truly knocked it out of the park. The food was one of the highlights of the evening, and our guests are still talking about it. What truly made the evening exceptional, however, was the service. We had 41 guests, and our servers--Evan, Alonso, and Frank--were outstanding. We've had the pleasure of being served by them before, and each brings something unique and valuable to the dining experience. They were warm, attentive, efficient, and incredibly organized throughout the entire evening. Despite the size of our party, they handled everything seamlessly and made every guest feel genuinely cared for. A special thank you also goes to Chantele, our event coordinator. As any bride knows, planning a wedding comes with plenty of questions, concerns, and emails. Chantele was incredibly patient, responsive, professional, and kind throughout the entire process. She answered every question with grace, was attentive to details, and helped put our minds at ease. Her professionalism and courtesy played a huge role in making our celebration such a success, and we are so grateful for her guidance and support. It was a particularly hot day, and the team thoughtfully brought out fans to help keep everyone comfortable. That small gesture was just one example of how attentive and helpful they were throughout the night. From coordinating the event to managing entrée orders and ensuring our guests were comfortable and happy, the entire staff went above and beyond. The atmosphere, food, service, and hospitality combined to create a truly memorable celebration. We feel so blessed to have shared such a special occasion at a restaurant that has already been part of so many wonderful memories for us. After at least a dozen dinner dates here over the years, it was only fitting that we celebrate our wedding with the people and food we've come to love. Thank you to Chantele, Evan, Alonso, Frank, the talented chefs, the kitchen staff, and the entire Chef Adrianne's team for helping make our wedding celebration unforgettable. You didn't just serve a meal--you helped create memories that we and our families will cherish for a lifetime. We will continue recommending this restaurant to everyone we know and look forward to celebrating many more milestones here in the years to come.

I've been thinking of taking the WSET exam to get some more solid knowledge of wine, and after comparing different places offering the course as well as online options, I decide to take the class here. Located in the SunTrust building, the academy is easily accessible and there's garage as well as street parking around. The class is a small in size so it's good for sharing experience and opinions. Alessandra is readily available to answer questions during and after class, and she gives useful tips in preparing for the exam. The course really helped me in calibrating my palate to the WSET standard, as well as broadening my horizon and introducing me to less common wines, such as Hungarian tokaji and Australian riesling. In the end, I felt that regardless of whether I pass the exam or not, the course was totally worthwhile, because it has given me a lot of knowledge and the tool to better appreciate wine.

What an incredible time I had yesterday at the Florida Wine Academy for my Wine Class…read more I have so many reasons to go back, from the impeccable place, inside and outside, to the wonderful and well-prepared class, directed by Ms. Nicole. She emailed us, two days before, and asked us if we have any food allergies since they will provide some snacks to pair with the wines. She also gave us the address and explained to us how to get there and where to park. I parked in a public garage for $5.00, this was not my best choice, because I'm not used to walking alone downtown, but it wasn't that bad after all. I went into the Sun-trust building, a beautiful tall building. The academy is on the 22nd floor as Nicole told us in her email. Once I got there, we went to this room where she had everything set up as you can see in my pictures, so pretty and organized. That's one of the most important things for me, how well organized and neat everything was. I need all those, in order for me to learn and enjoy myself the way I did. She started the class as a Professor will, telling us about herself and that, made me happy, such a prepared person is teaching me about wine...wow. The way she directed the class, with all the details, from guiding us where to buy wines, to open up our senses. Smell, Taste, and Body, were words we used during the whole class since we learned from her how to categorize each different wine, from all the six we had. As we were learning, smelling, and trying the wines, she also told us how to pair them with food and gave us tips on which wine will go good or better with the food we choose. With the wines we tried, we had some nuts, cheese and crackers, grapes, and dark chocolate...Yummy! They also offer all the 4 levels of WSET classes, plus labs like the one I went and more. You can always call or check their website for more information. Honestly, after trying this class yesterday, I don't feel so embarrassed to try the leveled classes and get my certification, because they way they teach you, you can actually learn and move forward.
