Don't sleep on this local restaurant! Very authentic and affordable Latin/ Honduran cuisine. Comfortable hole in the wall atmosphere. Husband even received a beer on the house courtesy of the owner! Will definitely return when back in the area!

Picadera, includes beef, pork, chicken, yuca frita, chorizo, tostones, cabbage salad, been dip.

I sincerely loved this place ! Good fun spot, security at the door and karaoke where everyone joins in. We had a sampler type plate (huge) and a bucket of coronas. Def a good spot for fun night out for Spanish music and fried food ! Would def return

Pollo Ceibeño, sopa de res, and pupusas. Very delicious food at a reasonable price. They have everything down to a formula family wise.

I can't say enough about this place. They serve delicious food from all over Central America. The service is very friendly and professional, I always feel welcomed here. The ambiance is very traditional and it will take you back to your roots. Visit this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

This restaurant just opened up and I am always looking forward to eating good typical Honduran food. The restaurant is small but what matters to me is the food and service, both were exceptional for a small nook in the wall. My kids loved their baleadas and I loved the Ceibeño. I definitely see myself coming back, specially for the baleadas.

I had the best experience at fresh Florida fisheries. This weekend I was set to make tuna ceviche…read morefor a family party and was looking for a place to get fresh tuna at a reasonable price. Enter fresh Florida fisheries I popped in on Saturday morning and was immediately impressed how fresh all of the seafood looked and how organized it was basically you order at the counter. The staff is super knowledgeable and they will prep your fish for you however you like. Then they give you a number for your order when you pay, and then you wait for your number to be called. I knew I was looking for for tuna, and my eyes definitely wandered at the selection of fish! The person who helped me was super friendly, suggested the amount that I should be ordering for the party size and was able to clean the fish for me. I also thought that the price was super reasonable for fresh locally caught tuna it was 2499 a pound I got a little bit under 3 pounds for just around $70 and it was incredible. I will definitely be back to explore more of the seafood options that they have. Fish is something that I love to eat, but don't often buy from a grocery store because I get a little weirded out at the quality. Knowing that this is so close to my house with high-quality fish for a great price will make me a returning customer for sure. Parking is pretty chill and easy in their front lot and I'm sure you can park down the street if it's a really busy day. Will be back.

My first visit here and I sort of wish I'd read the other reviews before I came here. If so, I…read morewould have come at a time where I was hungry and for a mere five dollars had them prepare my meal for me. But that being said, I found it to be a very nice fish market. Now there is a huge downside that you immediately encounter when you arrive. The parking lot is exceptionally small and people are parked every which way, except in the spaces. Getting to the actual building will take some time. The neighboring lots have pretty clear signs that they will tell you if you park there. So you're stuck dealing with what it is. The fish variety is good, although not great. If you're looking for strictly local fish, you'll probably find what you want. Several varieties of snapper and the fish looked wonderful and fresh. Some of my favorites like hogfish and grouper. You can buy the whole fish and they'll fillet it for you or you can buy fillets if they have them of the fish that you want. But the part I missed is having them cook it for me. Now that is something I would like to try next time The downside is they strictly local fish. You won't find any flatfish and I was surprised that they did not have any U4 or U6 shrimp which I like to use to make paella. In addition, I did not see fresh scallops. They did have some nice lobster tails although I did not see other shellfish. Some people have said the prices are reasonable; I found them about 20 to 30% higher than other fish markets I visit. The people here are really nice in the market is attractive. I will be back as I said to get a meal cooked for me in part because it is closer than the fish markets I usually visit and also my curiosity after reading other reviews. I recommend this market if you have the patience to wait for a parking space. If you're looking for the larger shrimp for paella look elsewhere

A Taste of Ecuador, With a Touch of Elegance…read more Sometimes, a dining experience becomes more than just a meal. Sometimes, it takes you back home. As someone with Ecuadorian roots, I was excited to experience La Pata Gorda's contemporary interpretation of traditional Ecuadorian cuisine. And what a lovely experience it turned out to be! We arrived rather late, around 9 p.m., and decided to sit outside, enjoying a beautiful evening in the heart of Coral Gables. The atmosphere was charming, and despite the late hour, the manager was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Having been with the restaurant since it opened, he was knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely passionate about the food and the restaurant. We ordered a wonderful variety of dishes, including fresh oysters, seafood rice, seco de chivo, and a beautiful assortment of Ecuadorian specialties. The oysters were on the smaller side but delicious, and everything was beautifully presented. One thing I particularly appreciated was the manager's transparency. When we asked about Ecuadorian crab, he explained the challenges of importing it and was upfront about the crab they currently serve not being Ecuadorian. That kind of honesty speaks volumes. But for me, two dishes made this evening truly unforgettable. The first was the humita. One bite, and I was transported back to my mother's kitchen. She made the most wonderful savory humitas, and I have such beautiful memories of sitting with her in the mornings, enjoying a leftover humita with a cup of coffee and simply talking. The flavor was so reminiscent of hers that I genuinely became emotional. It's amazing how a single bite can bring back memories you hold so close to your heart. Then came the seco de chivo, a dish my father absolutely mastered. He loved cooking, and like my mother, he poured his heart into everything he prepared. While La Pata Gorda offers a more refined interpretation, the familiar flavors brought back those wonderful memories of watching him cook. What makes La Pata Gorda special is its ability to take traditional Ecuadorian dishes and give them a contemporary, elegant presentation without completely losing their roots. It's not quite the rustic, home-cooked Ecuadorian experience many of us grew up with, but it's a beautiful interpretation of it. The food was flavorful, the portions generous, the presentation lovely, and the service exceptional. I came expecting a wonderful Ecuadorian meal. I left with a heart full of memories. And sometimes, that's what makes a dining experience truly special.
