The cheese was a little overpowering, I probably would try something without it next time. The avocado I got was also not very good, I would just avoid the avocado altogether just in case. I LOVE Mexican, Central & South American food (blame my Costa-Rican father!) so I'm a big fan of baleadas, pupusas & tamales, etc. Came here with my dad recently & ordered a Mora juice (blackberry) and the combo that came with una Baleada Sencilla (beans, cheese & natilla, I also added avocado) & a Pupusa (bean & cheese). LOVED this place. The quality of every dish that came out was superb. Great example of Honduran food. The restaurant although fairly large was packed to the brim for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Our waiter was very sweet and took his time with us, we aren't used to ordering Honduran food, so a lot of questions were asked. I ordered the beef soup or sopa de res, they only had one serving and three of us ordered. So we let my mom take it. She loved it. I ordered the carne asada as my second choice and I wasn't upset. The dish came with rice, a coleslaw salad, maduros (plantains), a slice of avocado, refried beans, a slice of white cheese, and two tortillas!! Talk about yummy leftovers. I just moved to East Little Havana and am trying some authentic places, I refuse to go to Brickell and wait for a table surrounded by women wearing sequins on a Tuesday night, so I try to hit authentic places 90% of the time just like I did in New York my whole life. I've been hitting Las Cabañas Salvadoran on the corner of Calle Ocho and SW Fourth Avenue, so I found this Honduran place no much farther up Calle Ocho (it's all walking distance--I live near Jose Martí Park on the Miami River). It was around 9:30am on a Sunday morning. I barely speak Spanish and the nice waitress who speaks no English figured out my order of a typical Honduran plate consisting of a carne asada, refried beans, white rice, avocado, white cheese, maduros, lime, pico de gallo, and a small salad of cabbage topped with a tomato slice. This was huge. For some reason they grilled a steak and then sliced it into pieces and put it on a skewer like a pincho with grilled onions and peppers, but it was grilled on a flame with grill marks. Maybe it was to get the whole meal served on one plate. I also had a strong cafe con leche. The food was delicious, rather large for any meal of the day but I powered through it and paid the price later by not going to the gym or being productive. I'd definitely go back there for the food and the man who speak English and works the Apple Pay device appreciated the compliments and that I had been there the first time. read more

I have known of this place for at least 7 years now. The food usually takes more than average to get to your table. Like they say, great things take time. I love the decoration of sombreros, clay sculptures and the amazing information plastered on each table. If you are Honduran, you will love learning more about the culture from those tables. This place is a little far for me but, I still manage to go sometimes. My favorite Honduran tacos! I've brought a few of my friends and they loved the food. Everything is every flavorful and the price is decent. The only downside I feel everyone I go the waiters tend to take a long time getting to you. A must try if you Honduran food! I grew up in Miami and have never visited here, we were recommended by a friend. Pupusas could have been better, a bit softer and with a bit more sazón flavor or whatever they put in there. We also had carne asada with rice and beans, I've had my share of carnita asada plates, a typical dish in any Catracho (hondurean) restaurant this was okay, was expecting more. I am salud looking for a good Honduran restaurant since where I'm from we don't have that many, and the few we have are very average. I was advised to visit Paseo Catracho by a friend so i decided to go fro breakfast. The place is dark, once you get there it looks closed, and the door is very hard to open so please make sure you pull REALLY HARD, we were knocking on the glass for like 5 mins thinking someone could come and open the door for us. Now the food, I decided to with the desayuno típico, this is basically a little bit of everything (beans, crema, queso, tajadas, steak, eggs, and tortilla) you can pick corn or flour tortillas. Everything tested very fresh, the steak was tender and very flavorful, the eggs were a little over cooked, I didn't tell the waitress how I wanted them so that's on me. The cheese and creama tasted very authentic and fresh as well. Overall a good dish of you are trying Honduran food for the first time. We also ordered baleadas, these were pretty epic, the tortilla was very thing and they had a good amount of beans and crema. Wow! I've recently moved into the area and I'm thrilled to have found this place. The food really was fantastic and I'm excited to come back regularly. I had never had Honduran food before; it is truly delicious. I ordered breakfast that included fried eggs, steak, avocado, plantains, tortillas, and refried beans. I also got some tasty cafe con leche. All told, it was less than $20 which was a fantastic deal for how much food it was and how good it was. The atmosphere and service is also fantastic. A pleasant environment with a very friendly staff all around. I also don't speak Spanish and this was no issue at all. A little disappointing we were craving pupusas but I guess Honduras pupusas are different than Salvadoran pupusas they were ok but everything had the taste of beans the revueltas and even the stuffed plantains. We got the number one family deal with 10 pupusas 2 tacos a bean n cheese dip with a liter of soda and fried plantains. Like I said everything tasted like beans the bean dip with cheese and chips the pupusas tasted mostly of bean and my fried plantains were stuffed with beans. It blew my mind the amount if beans I ate in all the dishes. Salvadoran pupusas normally come stuffed with cheese pork and beans these were not what I'm used to and the plantains normally come with cream and beans on the side these came stuffed with more beans and cheese.
