Absolutely insane restaurant. Stopped in for some quick coffee and ended up staying for over an hour. Service was excellent, his name was Sebastian. Located on southwest 8th street and 9th avenue,, this Colombian Restaurant has a pretty large size seating area. We showed up late and they were closing soon but that didn't stop from getting friendly service. We quickly ordered so as too not impose. We started with empanadas de carne which were nicely stuffed but unfortunate were over fried. They were nice enough to bring out new ones for us and they were delicious. I had a Bandeja Paisa which just has everything you need to get over a hangover. And no I wasn't hungover but it's one of my go to for after drinking meals and it works. So take that as a tip. From steak to arepa to chicharrones this plate has everything. And it was all delicious. And when in Rome, I had to wash it down with an Aguila (Colombian beer). The place also has a small market which instead of sticking around for dessert, we opted to grab a bunch of Colombian candies and desserts from the market. After moving to the area, I was looking for a good place with good food that doesn't break the bank, San Pocho delivers. The service was spot on during the busy lunch hour. Most tables were taken in the big restaurant at about 2 in the afternoon on a weekday. Always a good sign. The clientele varied widely too. I ordered from the Daily Lunch specials and was very happy with my choice. The meal came with the main protein and three sides. The chicken was super moist and fell off the bone. El día de hoy, 20 de octubre de 2025, realicé un pedido que consistía en una cazuela de fríjoles con carne asada (tal como se le indicó al mesero) y un bistec a caballo. Al llegar la comida, noté que la cazuela tenía carne molida en lugar de carne asada. Se lo informé al mesero, quien respondió que no podía cambiar el plato porque ya estaba "comiendo", lo cual considero una respuesta inapropiada y poco enfocada en el servicio al cliente. Posteriormente, cuando casi terminaba el bistec a caballo, encontré un cabello dentro del plato. La primera "solución" ofrecida fue simplemente darme arroz con un poco de salsa, lo cual me pareció una respuesta poco profesional y sin empatía hacia el cliente. Al recibir la cuenta, me estaban cobrando el plato donde se encontró el cabello, por lo que hablé con la señora Amparo, quien manifestó que asumiría el pago del bistec a caballo por considerarme un "cliente problema", en vez de ofrecer una disculpa sincera o buscar una solución más adecuada. Durante la conversación, tanto la señora Amparo como el señor Gerardo mostraron un tono de voz altanero y poco respetuoso, lo cual hizo aún más incómoda la situación. En particular, el señor Gerardo --quien no anotó correctamente que la cazuela debía llevar carne asada-- respondió de manera arrogante diciendo: "Pues yo le pago la cuenta", como si mi intención fuera no pagar, lo cual fue completamente inapropiado. Considero que la manera más salomónica y profesional de resolver un inconveniente con un cliente no es pagarle la cuenta, sino ofrecerle una disculpa sincera y un trato respetuoso. Me parece lamentable que, en un establecimiento que representa la gastronomía y cultura colombiana, no se valore la buena atención y el respeto hacia el cliente. Espero que esta queja sea tomada como una oportunidad para mejorar el servicio, la actitud del personal y la forma de manejar las quejas con empatía y profesionalismo. The ambiance is simple but organized, the restaurant is spacious and is also a Colombian grocery store. We were immediately seated, service was friendly and welcoming. I never had Colombian food. Due to this, I basically ordered a Colombian food sampler, called Plato Montañero. It came with three proteins, your bread (arepa), and three side dishes. Being in Miami, I had to order Cuban coffee with milk. The dish included a big Colombian beef steak (thin cut), Colombian sausage link, and Colombian fried pork belly. The side dishes were beans, rice and fried ripe plantains. The meats were nicely seasoned, the pork belly was nicely fried and the skin was crispy (pretty much like filipino lechón). The rice was nicely cooked, the beans had pork belly in them, so they were very tasty, to top this off, the dish had two small pieces of ripe fried plantain. The arrive was great with the waiter but after I asked to get avocado and I'll pay extra he went to get avocado and his manager refused him to give any avocado even when I offered to pay more. Colombian burgers are know for their size and amount of toppings and options as well as the hot dogs. I usually have the burger with a fried egg or the loaded hot dog and these will hit the spot every time. Empanadas were crunchy packed with meat. Chicharrón was everything I was looking for and they give you plenty of limes to cut the fatty goodness. The pescado frito plate is huge! The fish perfectly cooked, arroz coco sweet and savory and the tostones a perfect crunchy on the outside soft on the inside card to eat as you like.
