The fried fish (red snapper) was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside--simply perfect. The bolón was delicious, with that authentic homemade taste, and the ceviche was fresh, citrusy, with the unique Ecuadorian touch that sets it apart. Let me start by saying I wanted so badly to like this place. I called and it was recommended to make a reservation, which was a great suggestion it was very busy. I love seeing a new business thriving! The hostess was very nice, and seated us right away at a table outside. Our server came out right away and she was very sweet but I've never had a more awkward interaction. Server: Have you ever been here before? Us: No, first time. Server: Do you know about us? Us: ... No it's our first time Server then went on about where the restaurant started and it's the first location in the US. Then points to the specials on the menu and tells us these are the specials but they're only available Monday to Friday until 4pm (It's Saturday night) and turns to the back to show us the tasting menu and lets us know that's also not available as it has to be reserved in advance. And asks if we're ready to order... not a single recommendation or information on any dishes that are available... Bf proceeds to order a spicy tuna roll from the appetizer side, it's not available. The only roll available is El Ñaño Roll. He ordered an arrow con mariscos very simple and can't go wrong. I asked about the cazuela de pescado and all I was told was it was fish slow cooked in green bananas. I didn't know what anything else was since she really didn't explain anything from the menu that was available, so I went with that. Food came out, his dish looked amazing! The presentation with the crab claw on a bed of yellow rice surrounded by the mariscos chefs kiss we were discussing how it really should come with a side plate to discard the shells from the dish when all of a sudden he pulled a very long hair out of his mouth. I was seated across not next to him so not mine and if you know him you know... it's not his. The manager came by and he showed him the very long hair and he said "everyone back there has a hairnet" well clearly not and clearly it didn't come from him. They did bring him a new plate and offered a comped dessert which we declined and when they brought the bill they did remove it from the bill. Hair happens, it's gross to find someone else's hair in your food but it happens and they made it right so I'll mention it but I won't dock a star for it. My dish was very flavorful, it looked small but it was dense; I ate maybe half of it. The cazuela is topped with half an avocado and red onions which I mixed into it, it also came with a side of white rice. If you don't like heavy flavors mix with the rice, I loved the full flavor however. Was it good, absolutely. Would I order it again, probably not just to try something a little lighter from the menu next time. All in all, they just opened and there are kinks to work out. Would I come back? Yes; and hopefully we can learn more about what else is on the menu to make a better informed selections. read more

We've been waiting for an Ecuadorian restaurant to open up in Miami and we were excited when we saw this one so close to us. In the heart of Miracle Mile and conveniently located near shops and a walkable area. The wait was a bit long but that was expected since we went on St. Patty's day. My Ecuadorian girlfriend said the food was accurate to taste and we really enjoyed every dish we got. The bolon was our favorite, we wish it would've been a little bigger but the quality made up for it and flavor was there. The churrasco with arroz con menestra and fries were delicious, and the shrimp ceviche as well. The ambiance was laid back, and the decor was really pretty which we loved. This was my first time at El Ñaño in Miami, and I went with my husband. The place is a total gem, super cozy ambiance, and the waitstaff were fantastic. They guided us through the menu so well, which was great for a first visit. We tried the Bolón Mixto and it was absolutely amazing, I loved it. My husband had the Encebollado, a fish soup with onions. He adored it, but since it was my first time, I wasn't as big a fan, it felt a bit bland. We also tried a dish called Guatita, which had a peanut sauce. It was good, but since I'm not a peanut lover, it wasn't really my thing. That said, I've been to another Ecuadorian restaurants in Miami, and this one is definitely the best overall. Miami doesn't have a lot of Ecuadorian options, but this one stands out by far. My family and I came for dinner on a Friday, my husband, our two daughters, and myself. We ordered two sushi rolls (the acevichado roll and the Nano roll), a patacón con queso, and a parrillada. For drinks, we had a sangría pitcher and three beers. The sushi rolls were definitely the highlight, fresh and flavorful, and the one thing we'd highly recommend. The sangría, unfortunately, tasted watered down due to too much ice. The patacón con queso was something my daughter enjoyed, but at $15, we felt it was overpriced for fried plantain with cheese. As for the parrillada, it was just okay. For $76, we expected better, especially since the picaña was very chewy, though the rest was decent. In total, we spent $234 with tax and tip. Overall, we felt the food was overpriced for the quality, and the service was just average. There are definitely better options in the area for the price. This is just our honest opinion. read more

Waiting on another Ecuadorian restaurant to open, went yesterday and had the best waitress, very attentive and informative, I believe her name is Darling. Great, chill ambiance, had their bolon de queso, because it's semana santa, we couldn't try it with chicharron, but tasted delicious, my daughters first time trying it that way, and she loved it. Also had their fried fish fillet with rice and menestra (Lentils) .. omg was amazing! The menestra alone reminded me of how my father makes it. Tried their cazuela mixta, I believe which is their casserole with fish and shrimp .. brought back memories of when my mother would make it of shrimp & for her in Guayaquil the dish is known by another name but wow! Overpriced and lacking service. I ordered camarones reventados (fried shrimp) they brought me shrimp with the vein in it, all of them had the vein in it. Basically fried shrimp poop. Ordered ceviche de camarón, some shrimp had the tail on them, some didn't. Very inconsistent lazy kitchen. Server left plates on our table from the appetizer orders all the way through dessert. Be more attentive, those plates should have been removed from the table long ago. I'm not trying to be tough, but if you're charging $40+ plates on miracle mile, be better!!! They took the tables order, and 20 min later decide to come back and tell my wife the pork frittata was not available, so everyone's food came out at once except my wife's. She waited almost 30 more minutes to get her plate! The table was already done eating when she got her food!!! Portions are small for the prices. Seems like a very inexperienced owner. I don't see this place lasting 6 months! Won't be back, and I don't recommend. You want to eat Ecuadorian ? Cook at home and save yourself the trip. Ordinary place, and the pricing should match!!
