I returned after the last owners ruined it. The food was awsome, not inexpensuve, but truly delicious, and the paella was generous and so was the cold cuts platter. Cava selection was rather limited. I was greated by Kathy. She treated me like a friend, made me feel super confortable, and so did her service. Now, for the very best ..the show. True Flamenco from Spain. Laila, the dancer was incredible, her footwork was amazing. La Negri, the singer , a real artist, and the guitarrist, and the cajon player Miguel...I hope I got the names right.. To me it was a delighful evening. I forgot to mention that they transformed the interior beautifully. It does not remind me of what they had there before. The chairs I found a bit lower, but still confortable. Suggestion to the manager: you should sit larger groups away from the stage, because they, most of the time, talk very loudly, and interrupt the wonderful Flamenco experience. If they continue with the show keeping it Flamenco, not mixed with anything else, the service, and the food the way it it, I will make this my regular place to go on weekends. We visited Madrid Tapas y Vinos for the first time last night, specifically to support a live band we had met a week prior in Boca Raton. While we were initially greeted politely and given a nice table, the evening quickly went downhill.I brought a very special bottle of 2013 Vega Sicilia Único. When our server informed us of their "no outside wine" policy, I completely understood but asked if a one-time exception could be made for a corkage fee since it was our first visit. I even offered to buy a bottle from their menu if they allowed us to open ours. The server spoke with the manager, but they refused to accommodate us. For a retaurant that claims to focus on wine, they have a surprisingly limited and poorly curated selection, making their strict policy and lack of flexibility even more disappointing. The food was also a major letdown. While the garbanzos fritos were good, the chorizo tasted very unpleasant. Out of respect for the band, we stayed and ordered croquetas de jamón and papas bravas. Both dishes were borderline inedible, tasting heavily of cheap frying oil and we left them unfinished.To make matters worse, the service became incredibly dismissive after the wine discussion. The restaurant is small, but running the floor with only one server is unreasonable. We were left with empty glasses and had to ask repeatedly for water, which we never received. Friends were in town who wanted a nice paella. I've passed this place a bunch of times. So we went ... It was just great. It's a nice quiet place. We went on a weeknight, so no flamenco show. Service was very good. Actually, we ordered two paellas and another entre. My friend's husband ordered a bowl of marisco soup and we ordered two tapas (stuffed pequillo peppers and calimari. Both were good. The entre order got lost somehow, but we had more than enough food. The marisco soup was filled with loads of seafood - I'll get that next time. Had been wanting to try this place since we live so close and was finally able to do so. The waitress greeted us and sat us down immediately to our reserved table. They assisted us in choosing our wine and made some suggestions on food items. To start off we had the ham croquettas and pan con tomate which was great! I then had the filet mignon medallions with fries for my entree and my bf had the lamb chops with veggies and potatoes. He really enjoyed the lamb chops. Located right off Lejeune Road near Miami international airport is a little taste of Spain with yummy tapas. It's at a strip mall and parking is tight but I would say it's pretty much worth the find it. I stopped by for lunch a recent Saturday and since I was in workout mode decided to eat outside. That and a slight mixup which they did fix with my sangria is what it is only four stars. For starters the dishes are much more flavored and generously sized than a well known Spanish chain place. For example my patatas bravas were thinly sliced and with a nicely spicy red tomato sauce with a decent bit of heat. The Huevos rotos I enjoyed had perfectly salty Serrano ham, a sunny side up egg and fries (instead of potato chips like at some chain spots). Dessert was the crema catalana recommended by my waiter. The crust was slightly crispy and the crème rich and not excessively sweet. A strong espresso and white wine sangria consisted of the liquid part of my meal. I heard that they have flamenco and or other music shows inside and on the weekend. Even for a normal meal I would recommend eating inside as I did have to step in a couple of times to get service. They also gave me red wine sangria to start when I asked for white wine sangria. However they did straighten this out quickly. We ordered paellas the moment that we sat down, then the waiters changed and when we asked about our paellas the waiter had no idea what we were talking about. Second, the paellas were not good. The meatballs were good and moist with subtle flavor. The sauce it comes in is different but good. The calamari was fried to perfection but lacked in taste. It was like eating nothing. The rice was undercooked unfortunately. The seafood in it tasted fresh but the whole thing lacked flavor. I tried my cousin's ternera lechal (veal) and it was delicious! It was nice and tender.
